LD23 — Tiny World

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-04-23T22:20:00

Really fun :) Easy to get and really enjoyable

When Worlds Collide by AlwaysGeeky 2012-04-24T00:15:00

The rebuilding of the world when playing again was pretty awesome

Polarity by nornagon 2012-04-23T23:46:00

Very difficult in places but good fun, great idea

C:\ Infected by Kevin_R_K 2012-04-23T21:28:00

That's a lot of fun, and pretty manic. Nice one.

Download Incomplete by trq 2012-04-23T19:13:00

Brilliant. Love the graphics and style. Excellent controls and level design, and loved the way you used different areas of the same world.

Dude, where's my planet by Zamando 2012-04-30T17:46:00

Spot on, loved it. Only minor gripe is the music resetting each time.

TTA - Tiny Theft Auto by marnaouf 2012-04-23T18:01:00

Love the graphics, and that the car controls are reversed, very funny

MacGuffin Quest! by FreezerburnVinny 2012-04-23T18:25:00

Good fun but found it rather hard, this is certainly a precise platformer. I always got so close but not quite. Some of the backgrounds made my eyes go funky.

Also for other players, 'e' opens the doors

I Painted a Tiny World by jellyislovely 2012-04-23T18:13:00

Heh, sorry. I guess playing it non-stop for a weekend makes it seem easier. Thanks for giving it a go though :)

The music comes from http://www.nosoapradio.us/ so I can't take credit for that.

I Painted a Tiny World by jellyislovely 2012-04-23T18:58:00

I've tried getting it to run on a Mac but I can't get PyGame to work. I'll keep trying and see if I can get a version up.

Also, here's a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxaIvwKyML0

I Painted a Tiny World by jellyislovely 2012-04-24T12:32:00

Dunno if it's what you are struggling with, but when you get hit by an enemy it slows you down until you release the key and then press it again. It's kinda a bug I never fixed.

Also I managed to collect 143 planets and reach level 20-something, so it is possible :)

I Painted a Tiny World by jellyislovely 2012-04-24T21:43:00

You gotta have the mouse over the world to pick it up

I Painted a Tiny World by jellyislovely 2012-05-04T16:03:00

Thanks :) I had thought of having a paint reserve that refilled over time, didn't have the time to put it in though unfortunately

Corebound by Ryusui 2012-04-24T00:11:00

Very clever level design, I got too frustrated with the last level though, I'll have to come back to it

Spider World by daerith 2012-04-23T18:44:00

The game didn't seem to load for me, just stayed on a white screen even after left for several minutes.

Tiny Floating Island by kivifreak 2012-04-23T18:49:00

That's a great idea to have the player flying the world around, would be cool to see where you could go with the game

Tiny Maze by Fififox 2012-04-23T23:09:00

This is actually more frustrating than Super Meat Boy

I Will Burn The Earth Down For You by EddieCameron 2012-04-23T22:05:00

Absolutely brilliant! Great concept and fun, managed to catch the guy eventually, after burning everything

SpaceMission Part 2 by Muu? 2012-04-23T18:36:00

That is the best "pew pew" sound. Good controls and good fun. Gotta agree with Darkfrost though, being able to hold down the shoot button would be nice.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Bugs are Hell by jellyislovely 2014-12-08T16:07:00

Yeah I had a bug near the end where instead of bouncing off the edge of the screen the enemies would get stuck there. So I just made them reappear in the centre. Not a bug to be fixed at 1 hour before deadline :p

Bugs are Hell by jellyislovely 2014-12-08T19:23:00

@mrexcessive Unfortunately elm doesn't support sound just yet, there is a custom package for it but I didn't want to waste time fiddling with it. Despite that I would very highly recommend it as a language, just don't take my terrible code as an example...

And yeah, there's no win condition :P just get lots of points.

Bugs are Hell by jellyislovely 2014-12-09T19:07:00

@asobitech There's no limit besides the game crashing...

Test subject #4218 by Domantas 2014-12-08T18:10:00

Great demake of Portal, really hard as well (but I'm terrible at puzzle games).

Screen Mover by Sh1rogane 2014-12-08T16:37:00

Incredible concept and tremendously well executed. Such a good fit to the theme. Having objects only move when visible made for some great puzzles.

Interezza by oskardevelopment 2014-12-08T17:08:00

Took a little while to work it out, but there is a nice deep strategy there. Avoiding the opponents big guns while trying to gain territory. One suggestion I would have is to add a 'concede' button so you can skip to the next game when it's quite clearly going to be a loss. Excellent game!

One Does Not Simply Walk Into More Doors by Wertle 2014-12-09T23:56:00

You really nailed the animation and feel of the game. The music and gameplay all merge brilliantly. Good level of difficulty as well.

Frosty Ninja by belva1234 2014-12-08T16:16:00

Soundtrack of the year

Tiny Bear Adventure by Mr.Greenhat 2014-12-10T00:35:00

I love the art style so much, it is hugely nostalgic of my old amiga games. I enjoyed the gameplay as well, only slight issue is at times it seems either a bit random where the bear goes or perhaps not the right decision (i.e. going into battle when on low health or to a pond when at max health).

Neonian by Neonian 2014-12-08T17:22:00

Good fun :)

Only thing I found was that the by best tactic is to sit on the 1st platform and just shoot side to side. There didn't seem to be much need for movement. I'm not sure, but I think it would be better if you made your character move a bit faster, reduced the health of the bombs so they take fewer shots to kill and adjust the level slightly to force the player to move around more.

Snow Need To Rush by SnoutUp 2014-12-08T18:18:00

I sucked badly at this game, but it's pretty fantastic. Not entirely sure I understood what was going on, but fun nonetheless :p

Litelane by furriKira 2014-12-08T17:42:00

I really like the way you brought Tron's aesthetic into a pixel art style, really nice.

An RPG For Ants by CheeseyBob 2014-12-08T18:16:00

Really enjoyed that :D but very difficult with a trackpad!

noname by red__hara 2014-12-08T16:51:00

Excellent gameplay and graphics. Really liked the way you transition around the rooms. Only thing is I'm not sure if I won or not. I killed the dude behind the screen and got blood on my screen but I wasn't sure if it was over. There was also one more dude walking around (the yellow room one top right)

Starside Takeover by headchant 2014-12-09T13:16:00

Fantastic. This is a bang on shmup. Really excellent. Great art and gameplay.

Shroom Boom by Asado 2014-12-08T17:54:00

The controls seem a bit off. After the tutorial it seemed like WASD no longer did anything.

Jetpack Bhutan by alecmilne 2014-12-09T12:55:00

Great fun and brilliantly difficult. Really liked the swarms of enemies that surprise you. A couple of indicators to health / jetpack status would be handy.

Asteroids, shoot'em! by jamajk 2014-12-09T13:04:00

It looks very good, but it is certainly difficult to tell what height you are at and what you are shooting towards. I like the perspective so I don't think that should change, but an indicator such as a laser sight would be useful.

Zroom by c2v4 2014-12-08T16:25:00

I love how the floaty physics play into the whole trippy nature of the game. Highly frustrating and difficult! Well done :D

Soviet Snowman Versus the Capitalist Pigs by MarthMadness 2014-12-08T17:32:00

Unfortunately I can't get past the security issue on OSX. I tried lowering my security level but it only goes down to high, there's no medium option on OSX :( I suggest trying the Ludum Dare IRC channel to see if anyone can help you package it into a jar file (I don't know anything about that, sorry).

Train Time by Pietdagamer 2014-12-08T18:24:00

Any chance of a Mac version? I tried running it on under Wine but with no luck. Is it even possible to port C# and XNA to OSX? No worries if not, it looks great in the screenshots and I'm impressed you managed to make a rail network game in this amount of time.
