Neat idea. I think it needs to be slightly (just slightly) slower paced. A couple more levels would be good too.

The windows link is 404ing

tcstyle 2011-12-21 07:51

Fixed the link. Should work now. Thanks for the hint.

Nice idea, but I found the button choice to be unintuitive and reduced my ability to respond under pressure.

I found I wanted the segments to be on the arrow keys i.e. up/down for vertical and left/right for horizontal.

Interesting play on the theme.

There's a lot happening at once and at quite the lively pace too, so I'm often blocking off two approaching subjects, notice another pair joining out of the corner of my eye, and know that I won't be quick enough to stop them. Maybe I'm just terrible at microing, lol.

Perhaps adapting a cooldown to the resources (ex: max of three kittens, getting a new one every 10s) and having placed ones just disappear over time will shift the gameplay more towards a fast pace placing game to fit the AI's pace rather than the current game's more intense pressure gameplay.

All in all, pretty interesting concept. Unfortunate that you didn't get all the features in that you wanted but good work nonetheless. :)

The concept is very interesting, but I have a hard time to place the correct time under pressure; the controls are not as untuitive as I would like to.

The idea is great and has a lot of potential, but the game isn't very fun in its current state.

make-a-game 2012-01-02 23:12

"So many ideas so little time." I can totaly relate to that =D, but nevertheless, despite the acelerated pace and the lack of sound, the whole concept behind this entry is very original and I enjoyed the game.

At this pace, this game is too difficult for me. I won the second time I tried but it was pure luck =), (reactive agents for the win).
Also I think I found a bug, at least in the windows version, I could place objects outside the boundries (I kept doing that replay after replay by mistake :( ).

benjamin-soule 2012-01-06 18:11

It's way too fast for me. I think the starting idea would make a very good turn per turn game

beerman 2012-01-08 02:07

Nice idea. Completely unplayable unless you're some kind of ninja, but the concept's good.

raptor85 2012-01-08 03:33

interesting concept, but yeah, between the UI and button choices basicly unplayable, by the time you get a wall selected you have a game over.

galman 2012-01-08 13:29

Very nice concept!
Still not a full game, you should work more on it.

kibertoad 2012-01-08 18:44

Interesting idea but action is too frantic :(

ayce 2012-01-08 19:47

Intersting game! After some attempts, I won! However, I felt like this was most likely based on luck, due to the fast pace of the game. Anyway, theme-related and a good concept! :D

lanoiadimuu 2012-01-08 23:43

The game itself is lots of fun, but requires ninja reflexes. Make it turn based or slow it down! On a trackball mouse is completely unplayable.

rawbits 2012-01-09 23:48

It's a good idea, but you shold rethink the controls imho.

Maybe you should place them in a maze or something to be more challenging...

I think it's a bug that you can place walls outside of the frame.

kitch 2012-01-09 23:51

Great idea, and I could see this being a lot of fun. But as mentioned above, I just cant think that fast.

wademcgillis 2012-01-10 00:02

I thought clicking on the cat and wall on the left side would make them become the active tool. I made this mistake even after playing 5 or so rounds.

The graphics were simple but not crap, and if the game lasted longer it would have been quite fun. But in its current state, it's too short and just a little too complex to be fun.

Hopefully you'll release a post-LD version?
