Games with bosses. Yes!
Wish I had more to do than get the keys though. Maybe with more time. I know it was the same with my game. Great game for 48 hours.

Games with bosses. Yes!
Wish I had more to do than get the keys though. Maybe with more time. I know it was the same with my game. Great game for 48 hours.
Great exploration game. I spent a lot of time on this and had a lot of fun. I agree with you about how minimaps and arrow indicators destroyed the old days of exploration. But maybe some indicator of planets you already visited? I got confused after a while. It was time for pen and paper tracking.
The controls were difficult to get a hold of. At the end, where you need to use multiple transformers, I had a hell of a time pressing the right keys at the right time. Maybe a different key for firing? I kept jamming the space bar when I needed to quickly fire instead of Q. Instead I would just jump into the poisonous planet. ;)
Great game! Hope you make others like it.
Oh, the beeping for communication was a little annoying after a while. That is the only negative I can think of.
Very good game. Great use of progression. Kept the game very interesting and fun.
Having different type of clones or jobs for clones would be cool. But not needed, it's a great game as is.
Wow this place is huge! Nice little world you made here. I like it.
I got to the end without using the grappling hook, didn't even know it was there. So maybe some in game tutorials like you did for the glide.
I didn't hear any audio though. I wonder why.
*spoilers* And is the reason why we keep flying in the air because of what we find out in the end?!
Music is cool. Ship and space man graphics are nice too. A counter to know when I am done collecting parts would be nice. I kept walking around falling in holes even though I was done.
Very good job. I loved this game. One my the best scores I have given. There was a perfect balance of difficulty and enjoyment, which made me keep trying the final level until I defeated evil mustache-bot. Great humor too!
At first I found the controls very difficult. Unnatural to control two things on the screen at once. Had that feeling until the end. But the easy going tutorial level made a nice warm up to get me used to the feeling. The tutorial level was definitely right.
I figured out too late how to walk Bill backwards. Makes sense to click behind you now, but there is not much room to click there. I missed a 'stache on the second level and sacrificed one of Timmy's hearts by guessing where it was. Maybe include that in the tutorial? Or I missed it?
I too wanted to walk down Billy's arm. It looked like I was supposed to do so. But couldn't figure out how until I saw in the tutorial how to move Timmy.
I could go on about adding this or adding that, but that doesn't help you. Any game could benefit or suffer from additions. Really this is a very solid and polished game and can't say enough how good of a job you guys did.
If I was a garbage collector, I would drive my truck through houses to pickup the trash. ;)
This is the first game other than mine that I saw using MelonJS. Yay! I wanted to give you all 5's just for that.
OK seriously now. Very cool game. Wish you had a little audio. I imagine that was a time issue. In MelonJS, I always have problems with audio in FireFox.
If this was on a phone, the road and house tiles will be difficult to place with a finger. A little small. Since you said "tap to play" I think mobile is what you were going for. I could be wrong though.
Your transition from mouse controls for house placement to arrow keys / direction pad is awesome! Such a good idea and this really made your game interesting and innovative. I gave you high innovation marks for that.
Thanks for the comments! On some browsers there is a long load time. It works best in Chrome and Safari.
@Nocturne: That's OK, dude. Other than the arrow keys, how would you like to see the control? Faster movement? Mouse clicks or tracking? I always like getting feedback to make future things better.
It is a little slow and sluggish when in browsers other than Chrome or Safari.
@Chris: Thanks. I can't take credit for the title screen image. It is royalty free though so it fits in the rules. Didn't mention that in my description.
Added note: I should mention that other than the title screen and the photo of the sun for the HUD, and the font, all other graphic and audio content was created by myself.
@Muu?
haha yeah I know. As mentioned in the description please use Chrome or Safari for best results. The sound effects aren't awful, just really really ear bleeding loud! Didn't have time to adjust.
I will be happy to correct this when judging ends to keep in line with the spirit of the 48 hour compo. Maybe even add music.
Thanks for the feedback.
@Suese
Thanks for the feedback. That is a good point about being too easy to break down. If you keep playing your atom eventually gets bigger, requiring more collisions to get to Neutrino. But this takes too long and is still easy. Thanks.
Ah, yes you found the bug on going to far up or down. The top and bottom walls will never let a neutrino through. My bug is that sometimes when you are traveling right or left along the top or bottom wall, my collision detection actually works in reverse, throwing the neutrino into limbo. I didn't have time to correct but will do so. That and add music. It definitely needs music.
Thanks for your feedback.
Thanks for the comments! Keep em coming with your votes. ;)
@4Urentertainment
Yes, instructions would be better as you go, you are right. If I had more time to think on how I would incorporate into the game, I would do so. But it was just fun to build and fun to hear back all these comments.
@emongev
First I heard it was complex. I understand that I didn't explain very well and I could have done the instructions in game. Is there anything specific that I could explain better? And yes, when you get to neutrino state the game is chaotic by design. Maybe a little too chaotic?
I built this using MelonJS javascript engine. All graphics drawn in Fireworks believe it or not. IDE is Komodo Edit. PC and monitors sit on my desk. ;)
@Dave:
Thanks for your feedback. I think one of the biggest things wrong with my game is what you say on number two. There is no way to lose. Which after a while will get boring if there is no challenge. Bugs are a minor thing, I think you bring up an excellent point here.
I will try to fix the major bugs, and maybe add a losing factor such as a time limit.
I am open to suggestions on how to teach the player how to play. It seems to be another big factor on this game not being that fun. But I can't figure another way to do it (never my strong-suit.)
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Really helps.
Nice game, I liked it a lot, after I figured out what was going on. I could not figure out what to do at first. Maybe a little more tutorial.
Fits the theme perfectly and really good mood. I really like the personality you gave the character.
I love floaty and want my very own as a pet. I was able to get to the end with his help found found big orange guy (can't remember his name.)
Fantastic game! All I had to do was read "curling" and I was hooked. haha.
Great game, a lot of fun. I really like the theme, style, audio, and graphics. Very well put together.
Two bad things. Suggest that I use headphones then you assault my ears... twice! Not cool dude. ;)
The keys used and gameplay was difficult. The Z X C keys being right next to each other made it confusing when I wanted to jump or eat. Feels like it's made for a controller instead or the space key for an action.
Other than that, it's perfect. Plus for the gameplay is that the player movement is rock solid. Great audio feedback when the player is eating, jumping, and even falling. Nice touch.
Graphics are outstanding. Great style. Could be a great puzzle / platformer.
Is there any way to destroy the helicopters? Couldn't figure that out.
Not bad. I liked the growing feature. You watch me take a shower... really?
So I got the tower. YAY!... now what?
hehe JK. Very nice demo. Would be very interested in seeing what you build with this.
First impression was that the game was kinda short and not that innovative. But smooth and polished other than lacking audio.
But then I read that this was the first time using Unity. Learning Unity and building a compo?... Fantastic job!!!! I have been tinkering with Unity for a while but still didn't go with it for the compo because I wasn't ready.
Nice start, this really could be something. Great idea, fits the theme very well, and it was fun for an incomplete game.
I hope you keep at it.
Nice game. I had some fun with it. Got repetitive though, maybe some powerups in later levels to keep from getting squishied?
Music got to be ear bleeding after a while. But still nice job.
Awesome! LOL! My thought process after playing 3 or 4 rounds "hmmm... ok careful to stay on the road. Don't want to... F-it! ME SMASH! ME DESTROY!!!"
Great game, high marks. I like it straight from the WTF just happened moment after clicking play.
Like everyone else said, can't use the right click on the web version. But I got around that going full screen so no big deal.
You can always tell that people like a game when after they play it, they try to break it. By falling off the edge or getting past the black holes, stuff like that. If they were bored, they wouldn't try it. So take that as a compliment. You had me hooked by rolling my world around in ways you probably didn't intend. ;)
Fun little game, and good use of game of life. I found it difficult that the grid was so small though. Would have been really cool if later there was an option to zoom out and see many of these grids.
Great game! The style took me way back. Fits the theme perfectly. Oh and anybody who uses legos in their game wins in my book.
Great game. I really like the screenshot disclaimer to not stomp on your iPad. :P
I love the keep your balance feature. But it took me a while to understand what it meant. It might sound dumb, but some quick text to show right then left? Not sure how to do that.
High Score: 3567000
Best Stomp: 15
High Score: 5429000
I can't stop playing!
Nice game. If you add more levels, I would try to add the additional drop pieces as levels progress, like the grey buildings only come into play in level three, small greenery comes into play in level two, large in level 4, etc, etc.
Nice music, fits a lot of "hand drawn" or stick figure games you see these days.
I'm am sure in Pompeii when the volcano erupted the Romans screamed "Quick, get the bear head!!!!". But alas it was too late.
Nice humor and game play. I had fun with this, thanks. I wish it had audio and a way to take the stars back.
It took a while to realize I had to find trees in space for O2. Cause, you know, I didn't think to look for trees in space.
Great game. Very cool story and concept. I really like how karma goes both ways, and both good and bad can help in some spots.
I like how having enough good karma not only turns you into a human, but a super hero human with super flash speed powers in heaven. I went flying around that place. ;)
As soon as I saw "Pale Blue Dot" and Carl Sagan, I immediately knew you hit the theme perfectly. I was so glad to hear Pale Blue Dot again.
I stole all the gold and defeated the scary monsters! yay!
Great game, a lot of fun. But um... how does it fit with the theme?
Good: It's an MMO build in a weekend. Nice job! The multiple tiles and exploring your little world was fun.
Bad: Ouch on the eyes. I couldn't really see those rats. And the pathfinding could use some help. Something confuses the pathfinding and players / rats run in circles sometimes.
Such a cool concept, nice imagination. I had a lot of fun with this. Nice touch of humor too.
One thing that was a little difficult is that the water drops would sometimes overlap each other into one. I would think that there is only one coming to my castle with over 500 HP but then all of the sudden HP is gone and the game is over. At first I also found it hard to keep up with the water and tooth brush dragon.
I think the small playing field is a big plus. Don't know if it was done on purpose or not, but I liked it. It kept things fast paced and fun, rather than trying to manage a lot of little things. Great job there.
Overall, very nice job and thank you for the imaginative game.
Good game. Defense games aren't my thing or I would say more, but it is good. Much harder than I expected.
Nice game. I agree with some of the comments above. If you change the click zone from the planet itself to the ring, it would be a lot better.
Also, maybe a double click (tap) on the planet to transfer people from that planet to the next, then it is a great game for mobile.
Great concept, a nice unique game. A little polish and some changes on where to click, you got a great game you can sell.
Good mood and great fit to theme. What do the little arrows do? Looks like it sends resources back up to the ship but I cannot get it to work.
I have carpal tunnel now from pressing X so many times... but great game!
Fantastic game. + points for MelonJS, a free engine I think is great.
I had huge frame rate drops as well. I had a similar problem with one of my games where the enemy objects were animating / doing stuff off screen. But I didn't check your code, and I think that was fixed in a later version of MelonJS, can't remember.
I couldn't quite figure out the laser hit box. Or rather, how exactly the laser killed the baddies. Seemed like if I jumped, random baddies would die. But still very cool.
Music is top-notch. Thoughts of Sega Genesis immediately popped into my head. Can't say enough how great the music is.
Graphics were well thought and matched, very well done.
Overall, great job. I had a lot of fun.
Fun little game. A level up or continuation would be cool, later levels can have powerups with "shields" or "avoiders". But fun little game.
Great sound and music. Nicely done.
Thanks for the comments guys. You are right, the only way to really win is to be evil.
You win Ludum Dare! This is absolutely brilliant. You took the theme to a new level, and it's great. And if you think I am only commenting so I can see your pin change colors... well yes, yes I am.
Nice game, very fluid animations and controls are tight. A lot of fun.
Did I just play Cartman as a turtle? That's what it looks like to me. Nice game.
Go away bats, you're annoying! Nice game, I really like the work on the character animation.
This game is so much fun. Me playing this game: "Yeah I got this, I have faster bullets now so I can OMG RUN AWAY FORM THE GIANT SPIDERS RUN AWAY RUN... Yeah no problem I got this. Shootin' webs... OMG RUN AWAY!"
I noticed that the Windows download doesn't include the asset files. Whoopsies! The web and OSX versions work just fine. Can anyone comment if I update the file, does that void the compo rules?
@hoyt hoy, Never before have I had a compliment of one of my games that included "difficult and boring". That's hilarious. Thanks for the comments guys.
@cstudios, that's funny, Papers Please was an inspiration here. Definitely more could be added, but not inside 48 hours.
@ShivaFang, thanks, I will check that out.
@elkiwydev, I verified that the game is still working on all of my test browsers. Can you let me know what browser and what operating system you are using?
@GreaseMonkey, OK I will update. But the OSX version works fine if you want to use something other than Wine.
Hi guys, thanks for all the feedback. Definitely I wanted the game to support both click once and drag and drop. Best for mobile devices and it it intuitive. But 48 hours is not a lot of time. As for the colors, I think an attractive element of the game is the stress and confusion, and all the same colors adds to that.
Nice pixel art, but I don't see any use of the theme here.
I couldn't get it to work on my windows VM... but the concept is awesome.
Choplifter!!!! That was fun!
I like the earth death sound.
Beautiful game, gorgeous music. The atmosphere is serene for a racing game, which is unique.
Nice game. The pull of gravity from far away planets that you can't see was satisfying.
Great. game, but where is the theme?
Nice little game. I know you ran out of time for the audio, that's too bad, I know the feeling. The visuals for powering up a sun was super satisfying!
Nice depth to the game. Although it was a little annoying getting to that first 100 or 500 clicks. After that the ramp up was nice, not too overpowering.
That was fun.
Nice game.
Great puzzler. There was a lot to it, you put some thought into the mechanics.
It's a good start.
"Yes I stole your potatoes, and I stole your wife too." hahaha hilarious!
Great game, that was fun.
That was really strange. I like the evil laugh at the end when you win.
web link isn't available.
wow... that background music! I couldn't figure out exactly what to do. Was I trying to match the right or the left in dreamland?
Either way, the take on the theme of dreamland being beaches and umbrellas, I thought that was a cool idea. Nice game, good work.
What's in my inventory... a key, potato salad, a mayor, and a dragon. That makes sense for a normal game inventory.
Seriously, this is a brilliant idea. I would have love to play more. This is a perfect kids game too. I thought the recipe page was funny.
Nice game. There are other gravity games like this, but I like how yours is zoomed in so you can't see everything at once.
I WANT MORE!!! This game is so nicely done, but so short. I could see this game doing well as a completed game sold as an app. However, I am going to hear that cat cry in my sleep tonight.
Very good game and good use of theme. Great music too. It was a little too unforgiving, should an easier intro mode.
After I played a few times I realized that it was a strategy to go back to the planets you visited before to refuel and get more crew. But I still couldn't figure it out. I kept loosing all my crew, even if I had 200+ before I went to a new planet. Cool concept though, and I like the detailed descriptions of each planet.
nice game, great concept. This would be great on a tablet.
This was a lot of fun. Took a second to figure it out. It's hard, but fun!
Not bad. I love the huge ships.
I gave you great marks on innovation here. This is a very cool game. So hard to move in line with the other mazes, but that was the fun part! Nice job.
Nice game. I really like the concept. It got hard quick on that jump and change lanes move.
A great start to a game.
nice game, I like the shadow effect.
I can't figure out how to get past the giant boulder in the second level.
Fun little game. Took one play to realize I need to be moving forward in order to turn.
Great game. I don't see the theme except the multiplayer, but that's not really a complaint or critique because it's still an awesome and beautiful game.
"You just won an expensive thing!" The spam email popups where such a great idea and really made this game fun.
Weird, great scores on humor.
Any game where you have to pick up cats to move them out of the way is a good game. I mean, how many times do I have to do that every day? Nice game, I had fun.
Ah, Super Mario Bros' 2, I miss you.
Just when I got hooked, there were no more levels! This is a great game. If you make the interface tablet friendly, you could sell this game on a tablet easily.
Very cool game, nicely executed. I at first thought this was way too hard, and I couldn't get a good rhythm. But then I hit the heaven world and found it to be awesomeness. A perfect balance. Nice job. I do wish there was a health or lives though, that allowed you to make at least one mistake.
Funny idea. Is this multiplayer only? I got a little confused on this one.
nice graphics and great rolling world idea.
great concept. Good use of the theme.
I like this game, and the use of the theme. I get all raging angry when I come across mean staple pullers. I too got stuck on the second level.
Nice little game.
When I figured out what was going on when hooking up the portals, I had a blast. Nice job.
Only 634 spacebucks. :(
Seriously, this is a perfect use of the theme. Nice job. I also used calls to make a game for this theme, but I did something from the past, an old switchboard. Your's is very cool!
Ikaruga, FTW!
Very cool atmosphere.
nice game.
Nice game. I love it when you die you just fall all the way to the bottom of the map.
The graphics are awesome! I love the models for the sun, earth, and moon. The clouds above the earth and lines around the sun were a great touch. The controls were really bad, though. W is backwards and S is forwards? I couldn't grab onto a planet because I was too confused with the controls. Sorry, I really tried. Maybe I am missing something..
The web version crashes for me, running in Chrome on OSX if that helps. It crashes after the conversation and it zooms out on what looks like a blood vessel.
A game with voice acting! Nice job, I had fun with it. It would have been nice to see the crates with ladders in them as a surprise higher up in the level.
I love the portraits of the people getting the deliveries. I personally don't like the controls, but that's just me. Nice game.
I can't get past that first turn in the second level! Nice game, great music. Also, GoT!
Wow, weird. I always wanted to be a noodle. What is the theme here?
Wow, I can't believe this was made in one weekend. No really, I can't believe this was made in one weekend. I gave you a good vote anyway, it is a good game.
nice game and great graphics. I collected all the stars, but nothing happened.
I couldn't get this to load in my Mac OS Chrome.
Very cool game. I spent a lot of time on this one. Built up all my upgrades, discovered new materials and things to mine. On day 5 I built was all of my acceleration and I thought "Let's check out this warp thing." Whoa awesome!!!! *crunch*, No continues!!!!
This is a very good game, I can see playing this more if finished. The progress of upgrades vs. getting minerals was extremely tight. I never once felt that it was impossible.
Not bad, I had fun but didn't see the drugs n hookers options like in Wolf of Wall Street.
Nice game.
Was that Bender invading? It took me longer than I expected to figure out how to get past the first thing of fire. Nice humor!
Fun game. It got harder quickly, right on the second level.
Very cool game, well done. I can't seem to dissolve any of the priests.
I like that jump animation.
I really like this game, cool concept. It was a little buggy, sometimes the player fell through the floor, but I am sure you know that. For your first ludum dare, this is a fantastic entry.
Cool game.
Very nice entry... great mood scores here.
The audio is really good. The hit sounds were very satisfying, and the music was good. But that's about it. My best time was 45 seconds. But I think that was a glitch. If I kept holding space I would score hits over and over again.
I like the clouds around the floating islands. Should I not pull the switch at the really long bridge?
I thought I was going to get sweet vengeance for my ruined handbag?! Nice game, that was fun.
Humor and fun was great. I don't really see the theme here though.
That got hard quick. I love how when worlds die they explode like balloons.
I got locked up after doing some digging and I couldn't move away from all the spawning monsters.
When I saw the screenshots for this game I thoguht "oh cool this looks like it will be an artsy game." Little did I know it was artsy fartsy! I gave you good audio score, cause I giggled.
At first I thought "where is the theme?" But now I get it. Nice game.
Reading the other comments... Yes this game has some bugs. Yes this game isn't really complete. But this is a perfect translation of the theme. I gave you 5 stars on theme. I love the cause and effect in different worlds. Brilliant! Great narrative and mood too.
Nice game.
No XBox controller, no can play. Too bad, looks awesome.
Nice game, I love the blimp flying mechanics. It's a bit hard to keep in a straight line, but fun.
Nicely done tutorial. I am never able to build a tutorial for an LD game.
wow great game. I made 23 baby planets!
Fun game, made it all the way and killed the dragon. Great sound effects, and great difficulty level. Difficult, but not horribly difficult, so I kept wanting to play.
I forgot to mention, I am going to see those bear faces in my sleep. Thanks!
I kept killing my population after adding anyone other than a farmer. But... +1 for Dune. There should be a way to mine spice.
nice game.
