LD20 — It's Dangerous to Go Alone! Take This!

A Spawn Named Bob by sirGustav 2011-05-02T21:24:00

The dashing was thoroughly pleasing.

It's dangerous to take this ... go alone! by Zaphos 2011-05-03T01:38:00

I demand a timelapse!

Take This by dadads 2011-05-03T00:47:00

Bah, why should I have to pay and lose my multiplier if I give them a 75% effective weapon? It's their fault for being bad at slaying the Thunder Golem!

Atomic Pinball by Toeofdoom 2011-05-05T00:37:00

Nifty, but my limited knowledge of chemistry and limited skill at pinball SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN MERGED. Really quite pretty, regardless of the fact that I don't know what I'm seeing.

p.i.g by zillix 2011-05-02T20:47:00

The instructions were impressively smooth. The game, overall, was very polished and very innovative. The audio contributed to the game, but ambient music would have added more. This game was really impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Against the Wall by Acheron 2011-05-04T02:45:00

This is just awesome. I wish it had quality settings, though.

Nano Seed by machinas 2011-05-03T01:08:00

Pretty nifty. It'd be nice if it had some sort of goal, or something like that.

Acid by Milo 2011-05-03T01:34:00

Weird. I'll see if I did something wrong when I was building it for Windows, although I'm pretty sure that it works on some windows machines.

Appy 1000mg by deepnight 2011-05-02T21:37:00

Very artistic. The explosions were good too. I really appreciated this game.

Eunaborb by krangGAMES 2011-05-02T20:24:00

The music is really really really really awesome, and the gameplay is pretty good. The levels have a nice difficulty slope, and kept me interested until the end. I do see how it *could* fit into the theme, although, in its current state, it doesn't really. The graphics, while simple, were very effective and looked professional.

Torch by alexlarioza 2011-05-03T01:30:00

Fun! It was just easy enough for me to finish before I got frustrated. One more bat, and I would've been done. Excellent job.

"Alone" by natpat 2011-05-03T00:24:00

Turtles and Penguins: Sworn Enemies of Stegosauruses.

The Dimension by HighQuality 2011-05-03T23:37:00

Entering my name as 'Milo, The Destroyer' bolstered my ego a lot. By far the most polished game I've seen yet. Great job!

Red by elbowroom 2011-05-02T02:48:00

Pretty cool, although it's a bit difficult on my track pad. There's a suspicious percentage of rabid rabbits though.

Lasers Are Dangerous by Hectigo 2011-05-02T20:31:00

The graphics were really good - they weren't fancy, but they did look good, and the animations added a very nice touch. The audio was alright. The game itself was interesting, and original.

Who Goes There? by Orangy Tang 2011-05-05T00:59:00

A bit boring beyond the tutorial, but a neat concept. The transitions between rooms was extremely awesome.

A Steampunk Axebot Supply Run by matthias_zarzecki 2011-05-02T21:00:00

I thought this was a very interesting concept, although the gameplay was only interesting for a while. The graphics were pretty decent, and the audio was pleasant. I appreciated that the enemy was named "Prof. Malevolent". :P

Breathing Room by Shaun Inman 2011-05-04T02:36:00

I love the concept. Brief, but high quality.

Pludum Dary by raver1975 2011-05-02T23:53:00

I think I killed humanity. We're supposed to use the planet as our shield, so we don't have to use our blue shield, right?

(Very strong game in all the categories)

EscapeBot by ahnimal 2011-05-03T22:49:00

Pretty fun, although I definitely agree with Fifth.

Block Push Championship by increpare 2011-05-02T21:12:00

Argh! My brain!

ZombieRunner...Ware by TellusE 2011-05-03T01:49:00

Finally, I feel qualified to use whatever I have on hand to fight off zombies! Although... I feel the sudden desire for... braiiins...

LD21 — Escape

Flee Buster by ChevyRay 2011-08-22T22:50:00

I got 76 tokens. This is addictive. I like the retro graphics a lot.

Pressure by varun 2011-08-25T21:26:00

The spikes are a bit sensitive; I tried being a ninja, and I hit the hitbox of the spikes, but not the graphic of the spikes. It might work better if the hitbox of the spikes was shorter, or if you only died if you were moving downwards.

Escaparazzi by Felipe Budinich 2011-08-23T18:56:00

It might make the game better if the sides didn't loop around - it's really easy if you always go right, except to go up/down to get money.

"EscapeBot" by Jonneh 2011-08-22T16:13:00

I really like the concept (although I have to agree that the puzzles don't get hard fast enough). Excellent game.

Flight of the Teddy Bear by chrisp 2011-08-23T18:46:00

It's an interesting mechanic, but it's a bit repetitive since not much thought is required to pass through the levels.

The Wave by Milo 2011-08-23T21:48:00

@bmfs
Yeah, if I continue developing this game, I'd probably switch out the current system (or augment it with) some sort of system based on dragging; a street is currently just any stretch with no intersection, which is the largest unit that still gives the user full control.

The Wave by Milo 2011-08-25T21:09:00

@foobaz
I used version 1.6. Thanks for building it.

BRITAIN:2027 by Sophie Houlden 2011-08-22T23:00:00

I like the game mechanic, although the levels definitely could be more tactical.

Prelude of the Chambered by Notch 2011-08-22T15:59:00

Is there a prize for whoever got the most votes on their game?

Escape! Data Entry Sentry by Shaun Inman 2011-08-22T23:13:00

I like the use of the theme and the graphics. It's a pretty cool mechanic, although more types of blocks would be necessary to make it truly interesting.

Chasteroids by pdehaan 2011-08-22T15:49:00

I like the audio quite a bit (and survived 109.7 seconds).

Slip Away by cambrian_era 2011-08-22T23:30:00

The phasing mechanic is pretty nifty (although phasing into tight spaces can be pretty annoying). The theme of this game is incredibly well-done.

[ESC]'s Escape by MrTwister 2011-08-22T21:41:00

I got 45.889. I did NOT use the following script. I repeat I did NOT use this script:

javascript:var obj = new Object(); obj.bbisBad = false; obj.bbname = "MILO"; var needsYes = 0; bb_keyboard_Keyboard_GetNewKey = function(){ needsYes = 1; return obj; }; bb_input_KeyHit = function(x){ if(x == 13){ if(needsYes == 1){ needsYes = 0; return 1;} } return 0;}

Mirror's Secret by BlueShaman 2011-08-22T22:25:00

This game feels really polished (apart from a few problems like that narrow hallways)! Excellent work.

Maze Escape by glcoder 2011-08-23T02:06:00

The lava's speed seems to be pretty well balanced - it was about 1 square behind me on the last level. I like how it kind of helps to show you the path.

Asplosions! by blahoink 2011-08-24T00:16:00

Fun game & concept, although the sumo wrestlers seem way too difficult (on my trackpad anyways), and I haven't been able to get past 'em.

Spaceman Spiff by mlb 2011-08-23T19:12:00

The running level was a bit too easy; I won by holding the up arrow and the right arrow.

The Cell by kevglass 2011-08-22T16:55:00

Best game I've seen in the compo yet.

Need For Code : Escape by K1NET1K 2011-08-23T19:02:00

You definitely need to be careful about making too much art; it's definitely a nice thing (and can be pretty motivating) to have good art, but the priority is the game mechanic.

I hope to see you in the next LD.

Meta Abstract Room Escape by foobaz 2011-08-25T00:32:00

This game has well designed levels; the first 4 levels are pretty easy, but the last level is interesting (much easier to solve backwards though). This puzzle is really fun.

You've got the money: Escape by Thomas Pritchard 2011-08-24T00:25:00

The game needs to give you more information; as it is now, at an intersection, I can either choose to go straight, left or right. I have no information to tell me that one choice is better than any of the others.

LD22 — Alone

10,000 Space Leagues from Delta Station by Dan C 2012-01-08T22:27:00

I think this was a bit too difficult, or at least it relied on patience a little too much. It'd be nice if the thrust was more powerful.

Best intro I've seen yet by far!

Dwarven Isolation by Milo 2011-12-19T21:05:00

Oh, really? I'll have to figure out why that always happens on some computers before the next Ludum Dare...

Out by kosinus 2012-01-08T22:15:00

The graphics look very nice, given the simplicity, and the concept is very simple, yet still interesting. I don't know how much time you took to create the levels, but I would gladly have taken 2 tutorials followed by something really difficult over 3 easy levels.

Charlotte Sometimes by hyperlogic 2011-12-20T23:44:00

The concept is quite cool; I would've been interested to see more interesting elements in deciding how to place the blocks, perhaps at the expense of the length of the game. It's very original, and the graphics look terrific.

She Loves You by Bad Sector 2011-12-19T21:52:00

The graphics were fantastic on this game. It's an interesting interpretation of the theme, but I'm a bit skeptical of the game design; it seemed that the idea of being near her too long just translated to a time limit on each level. It might be interesting if the time slowly restored if she was out of eyesight.

Leaf me Alone by AyCe 2012-01-08T00:58:00

Wow! This was a really good game. I really like the concept of having various plants give various perks (although in the last non-endurance level, I just used the poisonous stuff and it worked a little too well). It took me a while to realize that, though; I don't usually read the screens before the level.

Bunker by namrog84 2012-01-08T18:19:00

This game fits the theme really well. I think that the actual gameplay could be improved with moving obstacles.

Alone (Except for some Snakes) by BlueShaman 2012-01-07T01:10:00

Very original, and quite fun. It's assets are done quite effectively, but minimally. The one thing I would say is that (this might be because I'm using a trackpad) the ability to create and destroy blocks seemed sort of tacked on; it seemed that you were more likely to die while deleting blocks than you were just by running.

Space Ghost by madmaw 2012-01-08T19:04:00

YES! MATH! This game was really innovative, and I enjoyed it quite a lot since math is the best thing ever. I would like it if you could repeat levels (or choose not to advance to the next one), because I wanted to figure out lots of formulas for each one.

Although, the fact that you could define piecewise functions through tables or the ternary operator made it easier (although I didn't use this solution 'cuz it's not fun):
pts = [[0,0],[-0.5,1],[-1,0]]
num = Math.floor(t*5)
x = pts[num][0]
y = pts[num][1]

Lost in the Woods by ratboy2713 2012-01-08T00:31:00

The game looks quite nice, but I found it very frustrating to have to start from the beginning each time, although I did eventually complete it. I also felt that my actions didn't really have an effect on my success - the obstacles couldn't be avoided since they didn't look like obstacles.

Lonely Robot's Kitten Quest by Beerman 2012-01-08T22:22:00

I like the use of audio as a element in the gameplay. The controls felt a little hard to use, the game's up didn't correspond to the screen's.

For Glory! by SLiV 2011-12-21T02:11:00

Great game. It got really difficult quickly - after around the 8th level, I just ran for the exit (because my "heroic" exploits won't be known by anyone other than myself).

Fernands War by nickd3000 2012-01-08T22:36:00

Woo! I love wall-proof ships that can thrust backwards!

This game felt really complete, and was a lot of fun.

alone I art by Make A Game 2012-01-08T17:56:00

The graphics were awesome and comical. It seemed a bit easy; as long as you kept moving, the guards wouldn't catch. It'd be a lot more fun if it were harder.

Lonely Shepherd by shawn42 2011-12-20T03:51:00

I think that this game would do better if it had more decisions to make - there is really only one choice you have - which is to drag a male sheep onto a female sheep, and it's not very engaging to do that repeatedly. The graphics are some of the best I've seen so far though.

The Lonely Electron by spiral 2012-01-08T19:10:00

Very well executed! It looks great, and works smoothly. It would be nice if there was some more variety in obstacles.

The Wizard Who Stumbled by Myyyvothrr 2012-01-08T00:36:00

It has a distinctive and interesting look, and a rather large map. While that's impressive, I feel that the map was too large, since killing one zombie was about the same experience as killing the other 249.
I also feel that moving diagonally would help; the controls felt a bit off because of not being able to.

A Weekend Alone by Nolan C 2011-12-20T04:02:00

This is a pretty accurate model of the Ludum Dare, except usually the coding part takes a little more thought.
(Where is all that urine coming from though? I didn't drink anything)

Alone With Myself in a Box by Aaron 2012-01-08T01:35:00

I liked this game quite a bit. Its controls were really intuitive and didn't get in the way. I enjoyed all the little bits of text that popped up when you die (and I died a lot). Not quite sure how the theme connects though...

Lonely Space Marshal by Zuieni 2012-01-08T18:04:00

The audio is nice, and the walk animation for the player looks surprisingly good and smooth for a stick figure. I didn't really like the basic concept though, since it's been tried so many times before.

You wake up alone by nili 2012-01-08T19:15:00

The mood of this came across really well. The first time I encountered one of those ghost-ish things that vanished really drove the idea of "Alone" home. The ending was amusing, given that everything else was so dark.

ALONE with K.I.T.T.I. by pbdiode 2011-12-25T00:38:00

I like the opening sequence a lot. Might have been more interesting if there was a bit more depth though; things like different types of enemies might take some time, but would be very valuable to the gameplay.

The Sanctuary by zorrtwice 2011-12-25T00:25:00

The font you used was fairly difficult to read, due to its kerning; the letters were touching each other.

I was quite impressed with the attention to detail in the backgrounds, since it looks good and is quite substantial.

Busy King by Rose 2011-12-20T03:41:00

This game was excellent. The concept is very original and quite a bit of fun. I like that it can be executed so simply (it doesn't take many instructions or controls) and that it can use such simple graphics, but still look excellent.

Damn Locksmiths! by ddm 2011-12-24T02:46:00

The game crashed quite frequently on the instructions screen on my Mac (the console spewed out a lot, so I'm not really sure where a useful error would be).

The concept was pretty original, but I think it would have benefited if you could move diagonally.

ExtraVertical by jerp 2011-12-20T21:54:00

It might be nice if the game was a little faster, and gave a little more time per jump, but overall, this game was very enjoyable.

Solitaire of Solitude by Lusmu 2012-01-08T18:11:00

Very interesting concept, but it took me a while to figure it out.

Drift by Eliot 2011-12-20T22:05:00

This would certainly be an interesting concept with more development. Most of the difficulty of the game was getting the aim just right, but it'd be interesting if elements that required some thinking to get around were introduced.

LD23 — Tiny World

ineptia by Sodaware 2012-04-24T01:42:00

It's an interesting concept and the assets were done well. I was annoyed by the fact that the robot has to have its instructions input in such an unintuitive way - the mechanic of planning moves ahead can be maintained without having to figure out which way is right to your robot.

Montezuma's Tomb by recursor 2012-04-25T19:51:00

The style of the assets is great, but I can hardly play the game, given its difficulty.

Tiny World Peace by jwolf 2012-04-25T21:37:00

The game is fairly unique in its gameplay, but everything moves way too fast; I can't actually protect the planets effectively.

Trapped Genie by BubuIIC 2012-04-25T19:39:00

It seemed like it didn't give enough options to the player. Either you can walk this way or that way, but there's no obvious way to choose intelligently.

Last World by Jiddo 2012-04-24T23:15:00

It's very aesthetically appealing. It didn't keep my attention very long though - the game doesn't get difficult quickly enough.

(Also, I don't see the astrophysicist on your team! I'm pretty sure you're supposed to contact one before making a game about space! :P)

Battle For Tiny Space - Routing Edition by thynnmas 2012-04-25T01:38:00

It didn't seem too complicated once I got the hang of it, but, I think your selection code has a bug - it only seems to select if I drag down and left when making the selection. Interesting concept, but it seems a too difficult to effectively manage so many dots with adequate precision.

Laser Coin Planets by mortehu 2012-04-25T22:11:00

Pretty cool game. I finished it and enjoyed it, but it was a bit easy.

Full Circuit by JMRante 2012-04-24T01:59:00

Less' job must suck to have for real - Oh no! That doesn't go there! I'm trapped forever in this planet without power and I won't get payed for the job!

I enjoyed the game despite this, but I kept making tiny errors that made me restart the level, which was pretty annoying. Also, the audio and graphics were really cleanly done and definitely helped the game.

Full Circuit by JMRante 2012-04-25T00:08:00

I felt very accomplished when I finished the first level, but that was about all I could handle.

Drill It!: Demolition Co. by Julian Spillane 2012-04-23T21:20:00

This game has a very distinct style in its assets, which I like a lot. The premise is humorous. As others have said, the controls are kind of a pain - I would have enjoyed the game much more if I felt competent trying to get my turret to go in the right direction, but that didn't happen.

WTF LEMME OUT!!! by aquasheep 2012-04-25T00:49:00

I love the humor in this game. It's not very long, and doesn't give me much meaningful choice, but it brought a smile to my face.

Tiny Infection by Darkhogg 2012-05-06T14:39:00

Pretty good. I liked the idea of having a bunch of different types of things to attack with.

I think that since the field can't be contained in a single view, it'd be good to be able to set up routes where a cell sends all of its viruses, so you don't have to keep reissuing commands. I felt that I wasn't really able to use the cells that were far from the front, even with the multiple-cell paths.

Planet Waves by attagcatc 2012-04-25T00:14:00

I cleared one group before I died, and I don't think that was because of any skilled play on my part. Definitely make it more definite where it will land, and make it possible to have a low probability on the lowest row.

Bright Worlds by johnfn 2012-04-24T01:32:00

Uhh... is it supposed to be producing a constant high pitched noise that hurts my ears? (Presumably no, so I'll leave audio blank. I'm on Mac OS X 10.7)

Aside from that, I like the concept and enjoyed pushing about light sources, but the controls felt a odd (it'd be great if the up arrow made you jump) and I kept respawning in really weird places.

Rock 'n' Slash by BlackBulletIV 2012-04-24T02:35:00

The experience of playing this game is very cohesive. The graphics are polished and the audio suits the game. I enjoyed playing it a few times, but it doesn't seem to have a steep enough difficulty curve. So long as you kill everything with your melee attack and don't jump over stuff, things stay pretty easy.

Subatomica by SFBTom 2012-04-25T00:44:00

Impressive! The game was really intuitive (probably since its clean graphics communicated well) and pretty fun. The levels were well designed, and had a clear, but fair increase in difficulty (I got gold the first 4(?) levels, then silver the next 3 and bronze the last 3).

Path O' Invasion by ratboy2713 2012-04-25T22:20:00

It's a cool concept, but it becomes harder than I can handle after the enemies start showing up, since it's hard to quickly make moves.

Pale Blue Dot by KevinWorkman 2012-04-25T22:49:00

This is a cool thing to do while listening to Carl Sagan.

UpVote by oldtopman 2012-04-24T02:09:00

Definitely an interesting concept, but it'd be nice to have more. I love the graphic at the end.

Gravity Force 3 by refreshgames 2012-04-25T22:02:00

The gameplay works quite well. It was fun to try to line up shots to hit a bunch of enemies at once.

No Space by Steven Colling 2012-04-25T23:35:00

This game kept my interest for quite a while. The mechanics of mining and crafting are interesting, and there's a good level of challenge. The mood of the game is also impressive.

For (g>v) by N427 2012-04-27T22:08:00

The level is designed pretty well - I do have to use most the controls. It'd be nice to see some elements that require more precise and difficult moves though (although I'm not sure the control scheme is good enough for that). Being sent to the start every time was a little annoying.

Macronauts, Go! by wgemigh 2012-04-25T00:32:00

I like the style of the graphics a lot, but it seemed like the gameplay was a little slow; if I cleared a lot, I would have to wait quite a while to get anything more than a group of 3 or 4.

LD24 — Evolution

Evo Dash by Karel 2012-08-27T02:14:00

Really cool game! I like how you interpreted the theme and the game is addictive. Fun and well-executed.

Dawn of Dimension by jplur 2012-08-27T03:10:00

It's a really cool idea, but I found it prohibitively hard to do much editing; the blocks never were placed where I clicked (usually 1 block above). I do want to see what chaos has happened by the end of rating though.

Evolutionator! by CataclysmicKnight 2012-08-27T03:20:00

It was a good, short game. I liked the upgrades, although they might have been a little overpowered (although I liked shooting so much stuff!)

Religion Evolutionary Simulator by jwolf 2012-08-28T01:27:00

Neat idea. I toyed around with it for a while, until I figured out that the most successful religion I could make seemed to be one where they never left their country, but killed everyone in their country and the neighboring ones. I would like to see more depth in it though.

Game-Age by Lacutis 2012-08-27T17:21:00

Neat concept, and good selection of games, but the controls all felt a little slow or clunky to me (especially on breakout & pong)

Involucion by elxris 2012-08-28T01:09:00

I *think* I get how the simulation works, but the goal seems unclear, since whenever stuff gets eaten/dies it seems to reappear in the box thing. It looks like it's doing something really cool in the simulation; I just wish I could understand it more deeply.

Unstable Planet by HunLyxxod 2012-08-28T19:38:00

The idea of having the level evolve was really cool and was pretty fun. I would've liked more difficulty though, like having the guards shoot faster or having falling platforms or something, but this is a good start.

Cellvolution by thewiseguy99 2012-08-27T23:34:00

Nice simple game. It was very intuitive to pick up, but it felt a little slow after a little playing.

Young Earth Road Trip by saguaro 2012-09-05T01:24:00

Finally, a funny game!

Ebosslution by HaxeR 2012-08-27T02:48:00

I liked the different bosses, although it seemed the trick was always "shoot more stuff", but it was a pain to have to restart each time I ran out of life.

Ultimate Plant by nimblegorilla 2012-08-28T01:34:00

The game looks really clean and runs nicely. It's a little too hard to really figure out the solution in many cases, but it's a good puzzle.

The Wrong Kind of Evolution by Matt Hartley 2012-08-27T02:57:00

It seemed hard to get much progress here, since you could never shoot straight onto whatever might be hurting you.

Space Evolvers by Rafael CP 2012-09-03T14:49:00

This is a really cool use of Conway's Game of Life. Although it's (usually) not a gameplay thing (except when you own bullet spit gliders out), it makes for some neat graphics.

Help! My Game's Mutating! by CdrJameson 2012-09-05T01:04:00

This game was pretty rough around the edges. That said, I really like this interpretation of the theme, and I'd love to see how far one could take this concept (what series of small changes might change a thing like this into an RTS? I dunno, but I wanna find out!)

GeomeTree by FireHawkSoftware 2012-08-27T02:34:00

Very cool, but the game aspect of it seemed to boil down to "choose the biggest number", although there wasn't an explicit goal.

Also, I would've liked it to go a little faster; I'm willing to sacrifice scientific accuracy for bigger trees.

Chromasome by Jeremy Nikolai 2012-08-28T19:03:00

This concept is really original. It pretty fun, although I suspect that it'd be more fun on a tablet than it was on my laptop.

This Planet is Mine by Perfoon 2012-08-30T22:22:00

Neat concept and, after a really slow start, it became pretty fun. Overall, a solid entry.

Growth by spcmnspf 2012-09-05T01:12:00

It looked nice, but it's not very game-y (and it doesn't even seem like the new generation of flowers is that affected by the old one...)

Grow by Certainty 2012-08-27T02:28:00

This game entertained me for a while. It was a little frustrating how precise one had to be with the bombs, since it was pretty much impossible to evade two enemies coming from perpendicular sides. The whole changing graphics thing, where I went from a dot to a man-thing was cool (although more of a connection to the theme would be nice)

Worm by Imosa 2012-09-15T22:31:00

It seems like this could be an interesting evolution-based toy, but it's not really a game yet. I'd be curious to see how you would turn this into a game though, although I think it'd need more than allowing mutations, since that'd just be a game of basically counting.

Class Warfare by gabeochoa 2012-08-27T17:28:00

It's a cool concept, but the mechanic of being invisible seemed more annoying than anything else - it was almost blind luck whether I was successful or not. Also, it would've been nice if the other dots that were taking things were more visible (and less numerous)...

Planetary Overseer by Milo 2012-08-28T18:44:00

Oops... that output comes from the particle effects. 1 line per particle per frame = A lot of lines of output.

Also, sorry about the losing on load thing. I didn't realize it was possible (I mean, I guess the spikey must eat a fish, reproduce, then be eaten by a fish bigger than it, which might happen with some probability...)

The Origin of Valmalvax by nuria 2012-08-27T17:40:00

Really neat concept and well executed. I like the idea of having to wait for the next generation to use the benefits and it's cool to see my thingy slowly grow.

Curiosity, The Untold Story by Zoomyzoom 2012-08-28T19:23:00

This game was very satisfying. Good humor, good music, and lots of bullets.

Robot Build Fight! by Finn Stokes 2012-09-03T15:17:00

I liked the idea, but I couldn't figure out how to get very far, especially given that I didn't know how I could get logic gates to work (especially given that I didn't know when pulses from the inputs would be coming).

LD25 — You are the Villain

The Good Doctor by Sestren 2012-12-19T02:56:00

This game has some pretty fantastic mood. There's not much gameplay, but hearing all those squeaks from the mice made me smile.

Parasite Quest by Hatscat 2012-12-23T00:03:00

This game felt complete aside from a few small things. It was kind of long, but I enjoyed it enough to play it through. I wish there was more variety in gameplay though.

Untitled by dansludumdare 2012-12-19T03:16:00

I noticed that the physics sort of has some neat momentum-stuff going on, so I kept trying to get moving really fast by jumping on hills. I don't know if this was intentional, but I liked it.

Aside from that, I really liked the mood created by the graphics and audio (which was kind of a weird and scary), although the gameplay left more to be desired.

My First Ping Pong Massacre by Martin Vilcans 2012-12-21T00:32:00

I liked the physics and it was a fun thing just to watch. As far as gameplay, the slight randomness in the bullets and them changing power during the game kind of threw me off, along with the fact that there was no indication of where the people were.

The Button by Tim Bumpus 2012-12-22T17:47:00

Nice story. I really liked the transition between the 3rd (or something scene) and the first scene where Mr. I'm Going-To-Stop-You Showed Up where the color went from the rusty stuff to cleaner white - it was indicated really clearly "this is the past!" I also thought that although you didn't teach much (as you say, jumping and spikes), you did a good job of teaching it without instructions.

The gameplay does leave more to be wanted. It might be more compelling a game if there was more of a challenge to causing doomsday.

This Is How It Ends by Ted Brown 2012-12-20T23:30:00

It was fun to see the character seeming less and less evil as I went backward.

Incredibly awesome bomb terror by Granor 2012-12-26T04:51:00

I got through the first room, but I could figure out any commands to use for the second one (since I figured the doors to my right and left would be useful, but couldn't examine them or anything).

Rainbow by ix 2012-12-22T19:08:00

Wow! This is a really pretty game and a fun concept. I bet you could expand on it to make a really awesome puzzle.

Kroc Le Vilain by DrGeraud 2012-12-26T04:38:00

This has impressively well polished assets and is an original concept. I feel like it needs a bit more challenge though - after figuring out the first level (which was difficult, but not excessively so), it was just the same thing two more times without much more of a challenge except one or two extra spots where there were a lot of enemies. Maybe some sort of puzzle element would help the game - like instead of just being about being scary in front of the hero at the right time, having to scare minions deeper in or something that requires a little more thought or movement.

Class Master: Rise of the Slimes by eerongal 2012-12-19T02:42:00

The controls were fairly unintuitive; it took me a while to realize that I attacked things by running into them, because I thought the hit sound & graphic was me being hurt. I think the idea of being able to change classes whenever is neat, but needs to be implemented better.

Minions by ripter 2012-12-19T02:50:00

I like that your game takes place on a graph - it's unique. However, I didn't feel like there was enough choices for me to make - if I couldn't defeat a town, but there were no other towns to go after, I'd just have to go between two nodes and get random events.

Amongst Shadows by BlackBulletIV 2012-12-26T15:45:00

This was a neat game. It made really good use of light and shadow and did so in a way I haven't really seen before. It looks really nice s a game and creates a generally dark mood.

I feel like the controls were a bit difficult though, especially with stabbing, so a few levels, I mostly just ran.

Terminal Killer by dev_redant 2012-12-22T21:52:00

I just couldn't figure out what to do with the 'K' in the second stage. What I saw was unique though.

Cruel Cruel Dastard by alect 2012-12-21T00:22:00

Excellent job here. This is a really original and fun game - I was kind of sad when it ended.

Space Liberators by ceronman 2012-12-27T04:15:00

I found the controls almost prohibitively difficult. I ended up quitting after level 4 because I somehow got stuck selecting only "buy" tiles and it wouldn't let me select something else or buy anything more. I think, in general, the controls for buying things were what threw me off the most - I was able to use the healers and shooters (although with difficulty) until my ships started dying. It's a neat concept and definitely original, but I feel its potential is hindered by this.

Responsibilities by mcc 2012-12-19T03:06:00

This game does a good job with its mood. Its audio is certainly not pleasant to listen to, but I gave it a 5 because it's appropriately unnerving and builds a exotic mood.

MoonRise by LTyrosine 2012-12-22T18:31:00

I think the concept was very interesting and has potential if developed further, but the controls right now are really awkward and hard to use to the point of making it hard to play, and the pace of the game is too slow.

THE BUTCHER by pythong 2012-12-17T12:59:00

This is impressively polished. I would have liked more variation in the challenges of the game though.

LD26 — Minimalism

0 by Cosmologicon 2013-05-01T21:03:00

This is a really neat puzzle. I only got through a few levels, but they were well worth it, since they were challenging enough and since some new mechanics were revealed before I had to give up.

MINIMALISM by devince 2013-04-29T21:19:00

This is quite minimal.

Allied by JPatrick 2013-05-05T21:59:00

The game works well, although I wish there was some break between the waves and that the enemies would spawned further away.

SINE by ElScootro 2013-05-05T21:34:00

This is a neat concept and I liked hearing the ball move while I played, but I felt like there were really two different games with conflicting goals, since making music was an opposite goal from getting a good score. Perhaps it would be better if the fastest path to the goal made some sort of intentional melody or something like that? (or as bummzack suggests, a sort of "combo" thing).

Compactor by VDOgamez 2013-05-01T02:21:00

This is pretty neat. I like that you have to use your enemies to help you - and you get to choose, specifically, how to do that. I felt like more variation, like having more than one enemy type, might have made the game feel engaging longer, although as it, it withstood a few plays.

Swimming Fool by blackmagic 2013-05-06T01:25:00

This is a beautiful game - it's so well-polished. Every bit of the exterior of the game - its graphics, its audio, its dialog, has a nice character. It was a satisfying story, although I wish there was more substantial gameplay outside the dialog.

I'm Not a Paper Person! by Linus Lindberg 2013-05-05T21:50:00

This is a pretty interesting puzzle. I got stuck on one level fairly far in, but until then, the difficulty seemed to increase nicely (although a lot of this increase was in time pressure more than intrinsically more difficult puzzles). I agree that animation would help this - if only because the arrows, as they are now, are kind of confusing since I usually think in terms of flips rather than rotations. I do like the graphics here though - it's got a nice aesthetic, and the audio helps reinforce that.

Minimality by NightShadow0 2013-05-06T22:26:00

I like that the theme in this game is a tool available (or further, essential) to the player. I'd love to see it developed further (since at the moment, I only have to use it with the beam obstacles and it'd be cool if there were more challenging uses of it that were necessary), but it's a fairly solid game as it is.

Castle Defense by cwook 2013-05-03T02:10:00

This is a very simple game, although it felt like it could use something more in terms of a challenge - after repelling the first few green things and buying upgrades, it seemed like I was waiting for enemies to appear more than actually doing anything. Also, the 1st upgrade did seem to work on my Mac.

Dwalk by Joritan Cety 2013-04-29T20:44:00

This game was sort of tricky alone (but doable, still). Sometimes it seemed like I'd get into an impossible situation where my guys would be separated by an enemy and the enemy could keep one from getting behind the other.

I quite like the idea of people turning into rocks to crush things, though. It's neat.

Mondrianalism by TrahDivad 2013-04-29T21:28:00

This is quite cool. It's not like anything I've seen before, and works quite nicely. I'd love to see more levels, but what's here is cool and took some thought.

I think that a discrete grid as opposed to the continuous situation that currently exists might work better (since then players wouldn't need to position their cursors so precisely). This is a rather small thing, though.

Mind the Gap by shiprib 2013-05-06T21:14:00

This game was quite fun. It had a nice relaxing mood, but plenty of serious gameplay. I feel like it could be improved with a pause button that allowed you to keep building/planning - it feels like time pressure doesn't go well with a game that should require careful thought. The game is plenty addicting and innovative as it stands and definitely deserves to be developed further.

100% Safe Download by 3.14 2013-05-07T01:46:00

This was a nice game. It seemed easy the first play through, when I didn't defeat the computer, but it was waaaaaay more challenging (in a good way) when I did defeat him.

(Also, why are my instincts to collect dots so strong?)

You Must Escape by GertJohnny 2013-05-06T22:05:00

This was a very dark game. It was very fun to play through, but also terrifying.

Mandala by arrogant.gamer 2013-04-29T21:14:00

This is a very neat idea, although it does not offer me many meaningful choices...

Milo's Bridge by Adjotur 2013-04-29T21:00:00

I unfortunately didn't make it to the final wave (I made it to wave 15, then lost). I was excited for each new wave though, because I wanted to see if new things would arise. It did, by the time I lost, start to feel repetitive, since the game had a slow pace (I didn't have to dodge much of anything or move quickly) and mostly had me hitting enemies with my dagger from behind.

The Choices We Make by Dezzles 2013-05-06T22:18:00

The game seemed like a good idea, but the execution left more to be desired: the controls for the camera moved too quickly and disoriented me and the narration felt like it stated its idea that getting rid of the blocks was wrong, but it never really developed from there.

Min by peaveyj 2013-05-01T02:11:00

This game is by far the most succinct I've found in accomplishing its goal of being minimal.

Minimum Friction by pvwradtke 2013-05-01T02:10:00

The binary didn't work on my Mac; I think it needs to be packaged with SFML libraries, or at least that's what the error message seemed to say. I'll see if I can get it to work tomorrow.

Cage's Ghost by headchant 2013-05-05T16:50:00

Fun. I liked the idea of having power-ups inside blocks that could be shot. I feel like there are some issues with the generation of blocks making it difficult or impossible, but other than that, I enjoyed the game a lot.

COLORFORM by torcado 2013-05-03T02:20:00

I found this somewhat too difficult - I died a whole lot without getting much better. Usually, when every platform was only one of two colors, I had issues. The music was really awesome though, and I had to keep trying for quite a while before I found it necessary to give up.

Nesting by DomNomNom 2013-05-13T01:07:00

I liked the game. I'd like it if there was some better way of displaying the constraints than with words shown on mouse-over. I feel like this would allow further development of levels to make them harder, since the current ones are all fairly easy. The game does do a good job of building up to the mechanics, teaching the player.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Codename Mississippi-10 by Milo 2013-08-28T15:10:00

Hm... I made a new build of it now, so maybe it'll be less non-functional. Hopefully.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Stomp Time by NecroMac 2015-12-27T18:11:00

This was a really well polished game. Despite being quite simple it really drew me in - my heart's going a little faster after my last long run.

Pointless Life by Techblogogy 2015-12-27T18:34:00

It was rather surprising when pressing "boring" led to the guy being dead and alone. (I much preferred the happy ending)

Rainbow Maker! by Milo 2015-12-27T21:52:00

Hmm... I'm not sure what's up with the Windows versions; unfortunately, I have no Windows machine to test things on - I just trusted Processing to export it properly.

Growing Ties by drludos 2015-12-27T22:06:00

This game was really fun! The combo mechanic makes it really addictive, I think. Also, I'm glad I now know what to expect when tie shopping!

Temple of Doom and Friendship by A333 2015-12-27T17:46:00

I liked this game in general, though the controls were quite frustrating - it might be nice if there was some grace period around jumping where controls didn't affect your direction. This was particularly problematic given that everything was timed. However, I thought the graphics were nice, and the level design was good.

Nature Nurture by Interface 2015-12-27T18:32:00

This was a neat concept, although it was sometimes difficult to see the effect of various actions. I also think there might have been a bug with integer overflow - somehow, I ended up with two bulldozers with 4 billion health on the second wave.

Boxing Quest by flukeshot 2015-12-27T20:24:00

I really enjoyed the graphical style and the two button controls felt very natural.

Grow Blocks by DeanoC 2015-12-27T18:05:00

It was fairly interesting to play with once I figured out that one has to click quite a lot before anything happens (or at least, when I started clicking a lot, things started happening. Maybe it's just by chance)

Super Beard by Luke 2015-12-14T17:23:00

I found it very amusing when I first learned what super beard did.

Grow Christmas by simoroshka 2015-12-14T17:07:00

This game is beautiful! It gave me a really whimsical feel - I was greatly amused when I made a Dalek.

Plant Simulator: Chemical Warfare by DracoLizardStudios 2015-12-14T17:18:00

This was an interesting concept, though it took a bit of trying before I figured out precisely what things did, even after reading the instructions. I guess the lack of immediate feedback from any action makes learning somewhat difficult.
