Woah! 13? You made a better game than many of the entries I saw. If I can give you some suggestions: the solid objects tend to get confused with the background and when I picked up the big head I went right and then disappeared. Nice job!

There's a certain sly humor in the "You made a friend" thing that I liked. Good pixel art, too- things were very distinguishable.

Thanks for the responses! Yah the walk off the right side is a glitch a lot of people found and I found it at like 901 so I couldn't edit it. To finish the game u have to go backwards anyways, so yeah. @jeck I was kinda going for that, like one of those badly translated NES games. I was going to put "(literally" after it but I ran out of room on the screen.

Not bad. Somewhat short but amusing. The engine seems to have some bugs, especially with the jumping, (and the running off the edge when you find the head thing) but everything looks pretty and I like how he "made a friend". That is worth at least a few extra points for humor.

The font you used was fairly difficult to read, due to its kerning; the letters were touching each other.

I was quite impressed with the attention to detail in the backgrounds, since it looks good and is quite substantial.

Not even one blog entry? No timelapse and all? Sad me :/

Nice little game. Though at the time when you had to jump up, I had a lot of problems even seeing the platform.

Controls were kinda quirky. He moved while jumping, but falling down was straight down. Weird.
The character thingy reminds me of a japanese horror movie I watched a long time ago. =)

Good work on the graphics, nicely done. Unfortunately I had the same problem running into eternity.
Good luck next time, and write yourself a nice post mortem. I bet a lot of people would love to read it, plus you could use it in school somewhere and earn extra points.

Thanks! I know I didnt do a blog entry I was going through like 5 game ideas and i actually decided on the idea on the last day of the jam so I was REEEEEEEEEEALLY pressed for time. I'm working on a game outside of ld and I'm thinking of starting a dev blog.

Some nice pixel work and an idea that you can progress on to make a kickass game. Good job and keep at it!

I liked your pixel art - but the bg/fg mix in too much and there isn't enough contrast to see what is steppable on without squinting.
