LD23 — Tiny World

Le Petit by Pixelulsar 2012-04-25T23:37:00

Argh! I suck at platformers, so after dying a few hundred time on the first two pits gave up. But overall a pretty nice and polished game, especially for the compo

Nix by rustybroomhandle 2012-04-25T18:59:00

Oh, this was quite short, such a great beginning. It looked really nice, the graphics and animations are great! :-)
Hope you get around to finishing it.

Freddies by berkano 2012-04-25T23:18:00

Quite short, but nice concept. Took a few levels before I recognized the lemmings influence :-)
These thingies are sometimes really difficult to control when bouncing against each other.

Tininess Defense by The-Force 2012-05-13T13:27:00

Yeah, my world got huge... oh, that wasn't the point? Dammit.
Nice work! The graphics are great, I didn't though it was a 3D rendering, great work there. Music is also quite nice.
Controls are a bit tedious, though.

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-04-30T15:42:00

Pretty much perfect! Incredible work for 48 hours!

Unusable Man and the Orbs of Exponential Growth by samwoakley 2012-05-13T12:55:00

Your story is great! :D
As for the game, it's quite addicting, just one more try :-). Great simple game!

Trapped Genie by BubuIIC 2012-04-25T00:21:00

Thanks for all the comments.

@devwil: I completely agree, browser based games are so much easier to try out. What I really wanted to do, was providing a Native Client version. But there wasn't enough time before the jam to get it to work. So next time!

@SusanTheCat: Thanks for the feedback, I really have no idea what went wrong. You put all files in the same folder?

Trapped Genie by BubuIIC 2012-04-25T21:34:00

@AirRider3: I'd love to, but I don't own a mac and have no idea how to build applications for them. Mmh, I'll look into it.

I Refuse by apfrod 2012-05-13T12:44:00

Work really great in the browser, compliments for that.
As for the game, it's a bit sandbox style, but there should be different prices based on the location of the houses (seaside vs. garbage facility ;-)). Otherwise the switch to the garbage collector was a nice touch :-)

Greed Wars by IgnatusZuk 2012-04-24T22:10:00

Perfect! I love tower defense games, brilliant idea, really nice game.

Tiny Black Hole by Ymihere 2012-04-25T18:20:00

Nicely done! I like the different color schemes, gets weirder and weirder :-)

Phi by Thomas Bowker 2012-04-25T20:04:00

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I could only interact with the red thingies in the screenshot and I suppose I have to enable them in a certain order... I didn't found anything useful in the world.

Your timelapse video is quite nice, just watched it.

My World by IrfanFox 2012-05-13T13:12:00

Same here. Could have been an interesting game, perhaps. :-)

Tiny Worlds by Lidfrid 2012-04-30T18:47:00

This is hard! I didn't get very far, but the concept and presentation are nice! Interesting music ;-)

Carbots by Jemeyr 2012-05-13T13:09:00

Like your a 3D world :-), but there's not much to do. I found two of the limes and got bored then. You could have made more out of it.

Tiny Chtulhu by Chtulhu 2012-04-25T17:48:00

Nice interpretation of the theme :-) And I love Cthulhu!

SlimeABug by schattenkind.net 2012-04-24T21:48:00

Wow. Really nice game, great art and its quite fun to play!

Oh Boy, Oh Boy by Digitalis 2012-04-25T19:10:00

Nice, this is really fun to play, almost got everything grown, but not quite :-)

Tiny Galaxy by Robert Swan 2012-04-25T18:47:00

Wow, pretty impressive for 48h. Nice level design and really nice mood. Um the On-life sucks, but you already knew that ;-)

Castaways by vipah 2012-04-25T23:25:00

Quite a frantic game, didn't expect this :-)
It's fun to play for a bit. I especially liked the colliding bullets, nice touch.

Fancy Seeing You Here by sstrandberg 2012-04-24T20:38:00

Nice little game. The graphics are really good! :-)

Snow Globe Kerfuffle by j_peeba 2012-05-13T12:11:00

Nice concept. The fact that your shoots also destroy the globe makes it quite interesting to play. There's definitely more depth to it than I noticed at the first glance :-)

Craemle Zone by PsySal 2012-04-28T22:24:00

One or two sentences of explanaition what to do would have helped a lot. As said before, the voiceover is sometiomes difficult to understand. Nice music.

Tiny War Of The Worlds by galman 2012-05-13T12:20:00

Upgrades!! I really like it! ;-)
There is a nice sense of progression when you and the enemies get stronger.
If only the universe would be infinite, I think this would help both, logic and gameplay.

Our Tiny World by hamburger 2012-04-28T23:05:00

Don't know how it works, but we managed to end the game.

Lilac.27 by oddgoo 2012-04-24T22:06:00

Really nice game. The jumping between worlds is cool!

Stupid Ants by rvmook 2012-04-24T21:31:00

Nice concept, finally made it to 200 ants. But you don't really have too much control over the whole situation. I almost made it just by removing all boxes.
Maybe this needs longer levels?

Stranded by The Evil Cult 2012-04-24T22:19:00

Nice game, great looking graphics. Feels really polished, too.

Asteroid Defender by Dr. Mo 2012-04-25T23:34:00

Nice fluent gameplay but gets repetitive quickly. But quite a solid entry.

This Precious Land by Ishisoft 2012-04-25T20:58:00

This is really interesting, I like it. But somehow I feel stupid, 'cause I couldn't figure out what to do with the wood and stone. Can somebody explain?

This Precious Land by Ishisoft 2012-04-25T21:23:00

Um never mind, I got it. Planning before you put down tiles might helps a lot :-)
So the volcano advances things quite a bit.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Damned Scouts! by Lama 2014-04-29T13:00:00

Beautiful game, absolutely fantastic graphics and sound!
But as some of the others, I'm stuck at the last two scouts. I can't interact with the bee hive and I still have the fork left...

Game of Roots by BubuIIC 2014-05-01T13:32:00

@Knowledge and VDOgamez: You can set the resolution in the settings.txt :-). We set the default resolution relatively high, because the game is more fun if you have more space.

Adventures in Down and Up by hnjslater 2014-04-30T11:08:00

Someone else using pygame, nice :-).
For packaging up I can recommend cx_freeze., it's not perfect but for a windows build it works pretty well.

As for the game, I wasn't able to get very far, I could not make the long diagonal jump. But a decent entry for one day of work :-).

Lucy by Crusable 2014-04-30T10:49:00

The game has not much to it as of now, I also didn't want to wait the 5 minutes until something happens. But I quite liked the feel to the movement/shooting. And also enemies going over walls (but slowing down) is actually an interesting mechanic.

WOOD BIRD EGG DIG by voxel 2014-04-30T11:59:00

Nice puzzle game, and nice pecker graphics. :-)
First time I played I needed to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, but then everything worked really well.
Also the game is really polished for just 12 hours of work.

Wriggle Worm by gikdew 2014-04-29T17:46:00

Very solid. Maybe the worm could be slower in the beginning. Before you understan what is going on, you are already flashed with sound and flickering screen. Otherwise very cool.

Organ Run by kunzbe 2014-04-30T11:26:00

Wow, that's quite a cool game. Not a huge fan of the organ theme but the mechanics are super fun. Rocket jumping combined with gravity changing. Brilliant :-).

Parallel by Cosine 2014-04-30T11:18:00

Doesn't work for me as well. Crashes with the(0xc000007b) error. I think this is (still) a x86 vs x64 problem. I'm on a 64 bit system and the 32 bit game tries loading64 bit lib from my system.
Can you provide a 64bit build?

Hyper Seed by pedro.thiers 2014-04-30T09:33:00

Pretty cool idea, and nice choice of music. PLaying gets quite hectic after a while. :-)

Submarine (treasure hunting) by reidrac 2014-04-29T17:54:00

Great animations. I really enjoyed it.

They Lurk Beneath by Nega Drive 2014-04-29T17:19:00

Really nice music.

Runners by kelley 2014-04-30T09:42:00

Ha, we had a very similar idea but went in a bit different direction (You control every root at the same time in our game). Interesting to see it done this way.

It's An Invasion!!! by JaR_ 2014-04-29T16:20:00

Hi, really nice game. I like the graphics very much. I hope you keep working on it.

Mayoran by zorfmorf 2014-04-29T11:22:00

Wow! Great entry! Didn't encounter any bugs. Nice story and setting, music, everything just fits together. :-)

Baum by Waterman7 2014-05-09T08:31:00

Good idea - great implemenatation. Especially the setting which creates a dark and atmospheric mood. I like it very much!

Baum by Waterman7 2014-05-11T14:15:00

Very cool, I enjoyed the ambience. Thanks for rating our entry, by the way. And finally a web game, I can play on Linux.

Delph Ops by baykush_figtree 2014-04-29T17:22:00

I love the music and the graphics. Very nicely done!

Hair Spirit Adventure by messthem team 2014-04-29T17:24:00

Very nice graphics, but the controls were difficult.

Beneath Colossal by Liens 2014-04-29T17:03:00

- Great graphics, much love to detail
- Fun stomping on villagers
- very difficult handling of the weapons
- clear objective would be nice

Beneth the surface by Knowledge 2014-04-29T16:22:00

I had no problem running it and I have 32-bit.

NecRobot by Zarkith 2014-04-29T17:39:00

Very nice game! The audio tune is very catchy. I wish there would be more levels. The background story is somewhat wacky.

Any ship can be a MINESWEEPER... Once. by tehryanx 2014-04-29T17:51:00

I really love it. Fine sound and art.

SUPER LANDSHARK MISSILE ATTACK! by Tuism 2014-04-30T10:03:00

Wow, really cool idea and execution. Well done. Only thing was I couldn't really get a hang of the missiles. They seemed to keep spiraling away instead of hitting anything.

Ice Hop by waveformmodulations 2014-05-06T11:50:00

Really nice graphics and cool character!

Beneath by Stepperz 2014-04-30T10:32:00

I quite liked the game, a bit more variety would have been nice. Maybe just different colored slimes on later levels.

Larry The Fish by ztgz 2014-04-29T10:37:00

Nice and simple game, and actually a lot of fun to play :-).

Antlings by Jagang 2014-04-29T17:11:00

Nice game!

Villager by LukeZaz 2014-04-29T17:41:00

Very cool game!

Great Cave Escape by chewbye 2014-04-29T16:21:00

Cool game. I like the idea very much.

Rabbit Hole by XrXr 2014-04-29T16:19:00

Hi, nice job! But slow it down a little.

Grave Danger by Crypt Keepers 2014-04-29T16:45:00

Nice idea. Though it felt a bit monotonous, all this clicking on squares that barely changed anything. I got 5 layers down, but I didn't see the point. I don't know if there comes something awesome after all the clicking...

Gold Miner by Young IT 2014-04-29T12:50:00

I couldn't collect any gold either, the counter wasn't increasing.
The art and music are quite good, but the monster sound gets annoying after a while :-).

Shootmarine by elmoGames 2014-05-05T14:04:00

I like the graphics(!), the assignments with sound and the idea of switching between above and below the sea-level.
Unfortunately its a bit hard to play with just one life and the key for shooting is not well placed. I am familiar with playing WASD with the left hand, but pressing CRTL in higher frequence was bit more difficult then. Furthermore when I hit it more often, it does not shoot every time. I think a little bit of cooldown is okay, but I did not understand the underlying period of time.

I like the idea very much, but it was very difficult to play, when I take into account how fast the enemies move and in how many directions they can shoot.

William the Wopol by chipcaramel 2014-04-29T10:34:00

Walking outside the water seems to hang every step. Maybe that's intentional but it's still a bit irritating. Other than that a very nice (and long) game.

Digulator by calrk 2014-04-30T09:54:00

Wow, really nice presentation!

Reaper by LastResortGames 2014-04-29T17:29:00

Very nice music and concept. The game was fun to play.

The Crusade! by jamesy012 2014-04-30T11:39:00

Nice idea and interesting game certainly. But as it stands it is very random if you even stand a chance to survive the first encounter. A better progression would have been nice. :-)

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

A Dark Maze by BubuIIC 2014-12-09T02:51:00

@peejaygee: Well, it is a Jam entry. And it was entered 1 hour before the deadline as a placeholder...

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Whistling Farmer by juaxix 2015-04-21T11:54:00

Really great effort! The characters are well designed.

The others are my Strength by FrederickK 2015-05-07T20:16:00

The firing did not work for me. I used the Unity version.

Philosophers Battle by BubuIIC 2015-04-22T08:48:00

@JoshyOshKenoshi: Definitely. We were just using the philosphers we were most familiar with. We plan to add more in a newer version.

@Jungle: Coll, thansk very much!

@Chesyr: Start with Kant or Hobbes if it is to difficult. We are still working on the balancing.

Warp Wizard by PizzaPranks 2015-04-23T13:28:00

Very, very hard. But then again I suck at platformers...
Couldn't make ist past level 2. After like 20 tries made it through that Teleport - Swap thingie. But then again? Haha, not gonna try :D.

Velo-City by TeamEagle 2015-04-21T17:16:00

Wow, this looks and feels amazing!! Really good job!

Puppet Guardian by sebasRez 2015-04-21T17:47:00

Very cool game. Nice theme _and_ cool mechanics. Also great animations.

Puppet Guardian by sebasRez 2015-04-21T17:53:00

I fell through the wall/floor.
When I kept spawning a projection and also kept pressing down-forward I ended up inside the next wall.
Then I could walk all the way to the exit :-).

Le Roman de Goupil by Luke Magitem 2015-04-22T09:20:00

Great art. Please work on the game, it would be really cool to have it finished.

Alien Attack by Beege 2015-04-21T19:25:00

Awesome clean graphics style! I love those forcefully exploding aliens. Feels very satisfying. The progression ssems a bit off, I had at like 1, 1, 2, 1, 6 aliens coming.
Could use a bit more variety, maybe different fruitweapons.

Hitchhiker's Tales by Tangible Games 2015-04-22T09:03:00

Great interpretation of the theme!

Bilehacker by RobotParking 2015-04-24T10:12:00

Well, that was weird. But very well put together. Although I think I found a bug, you get the reward money even if you immediately decide to jack out and not following through with the mission.

Please share the source as required by the competition rules: http://ludumdare.com/compo/rules/

Daifugo by jadam009 2015-04-24T09:44:00

Nice graphics but unfortunately very, very short.

Limbs by Flatgub 2015-04-24T09:54:00

The first time I tried to play the game the whole screen got engulfed in blood and after a minute or so the game slowed down to 0.1 fps. But that didn't happen on subsequent tries...

Anyway, nice entry, and fun game. Could indeed as others have pointed out could use a bit more variety.

The Great Shooting by holgk 2015-04-21T18:46:00

I won! After trying to figure out how to put a script into another building, or rather on top of the X beside it. :-)
But nice work!

Arena King by Anti 2015-05-07T19:14:00

It crushes on opening ... :-(

Weapon Shoppe by Erfeo 2015-04-22T09:11:00

Good start. It lacks a bit of a challenge though. Maybe the requests could be less straight forward.

The Hicet: Iceburglary by TTFTCUTS 2015-04-21T19:17:00

Great entry. A most unconventional weapon. Also bonus point for technology used :-). Only thing is, it is mostly impossible to hit ships on the borders of the screen.

Galaxy Farm by Loon Of Nature 2015-04-27T16:08:00

I also had no idea what to do. Somehow you can make big black balls. But I don't quite know how.

Lagman by reiknight 2015-04-22T11:04:00

This is an extremely clever idea, even though it is rather difficult to play. Nice Work!

Driven Insane by AAGH Games 2015-04-27T10:59:00

Nice game, I managed to stop the car from getting to work. :-)

Beard Legacy by Berail 2015-04-21T17:26:00

Very cool game! Love the retractable beard!
Also super cool mood and lighting.

Her Majesty's Apathy Bomb by ianburnette 2015-04-23T13:07:00

Awesome entry, loved finding all the endings!

Mellowball by Hatsome 2015-04-21T17:59:00

Very nice take on Super Crate Box! The ball physics make it really fun to play.

Bomb bringer by SMASH BASH 2015-04-23T08:56:00

Very nice game, I liked the terrain generation (and generally how the terrain looks) and the surprise ending :-). Well done.
As someone else said, I always mixed up the up/down controls. Used to them being inverted somehow.

Glatto Boy by hellforge 2015-04-21T15:07:00

Very nice work. The design is very cool. Sadly I don't get how to get past the J-Button-Tower. Probably the double jump does not work.

The Goose Saga by kipelovets 2015-04-21T20:09:00

Very nice visual style but I agree some better feedback for what is scenery and what is an obstacle would be nice.

The Power of the Flower by Jungle 2015-04-22T08:50:00

Thanks for your comment!
You have a really cool game and the music is perfect. This theme is a very interesting idea. Reminds me of a scene in Watchmen.

Egg Defender by Zozingzeus 2015-04-21T15:25:00

Very funny sound effects!! :-)
But what's the point of all the hens throwing their eggs at the intruders to defend - some eggs? :-)
Nice simple tower defense game altogether.

The Thor's weapon by petercraft 2015-04-24T10:32:00

Well there are a few bugs: You can trap enemies behind corners and just keep killing them without getting hurt. (At least with the brendy and sausage). Also there seems to be some kind of lag/stutter sometimes, when new zombies are created?
So could use some work but a fun small game.

Concrete Escape by Davikin92 2015-04-21T17:04:00

Cool idea and definitely an unconventional weapon. :-)
The control layout is a bit difficult for one player - I guess WASD + space + mouse would work better.
The sound effects are not very nice to the ears.

Insult Duelling by natalye 2015-04-22T09:18:00

That is a really great interpretation of the theme.
I can not find the menu in the web version though.

Komodo Kaos by safran 2015-04-24T10:17:00

Ouch! Sorry to say, but the music is unbearable to me :-(!

Otherwise it's a fun game!

Hillel Gottesmann(K1llercake) by K1llercake 2015-05-07T19:21:00

Great music! Why did you decide to not be judged in the music category?

SleepOver by Dege 2015-04-21T19:33:00

Are there only the two weapons? I could really imagine a lot more variety can be added here. Otherwise really solid entry.

HELP: The Mystery of the Not-Terribly Useful Information by terpin 2015-04-23T13:58:00

Very interesting entry. I love exploring these alternate reality world, where nothing really makes sense at first.
Also you never can tell if you encountered a bug or a "bug". :-D

ScarKrow by Carduus 2015-04-21T11:54:00

Really great artwork and music. What was this programmed in?

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Button Sniper by BubuIIC 2015-12-15T03:00:00

@zlaine: Everything should work now. Submission hour ends in 1 minute :-)

Button Sniper by BubuIIC 2015-12-15T23:19:00

@oparisy:
Thanks for playing. Yes, you can use buttons or coins and try to flip them into cups or other targets. Have you never done that?

Button Sniper by BubuIIC 2015-12-16T13:28:00

@Bobsleigh: Haha, no the boss is not bugged. It was the best we could do in the last 10 minutes before the deadline. So it ended up as kind of a joke. :-)

Super-Bubba-Awesome-Space by Roffe 2015-12-16T15:30:00

It's very hard to aim and I can barely see the laser on my screen which doesn't help.
But definitely kudos for doing your own 3D engine!

As for the Linux package you don't need to install the dev versions of all libs. It works fine with just the libraries.

Shaman Flower by SaintHeiser 2015-12-16T18:59:00

The game look very cool. Sadly no linux version :-(.

Shaman Flower by SaintHeiser 2015-12-17T13:14:00

Wow! Definitely the best game I played so far. :-)
Very good job! Quite subtle use of the themes also :-).
Also it's quite a complex game for a compo entry. Takes a few plays to actually understand everything that's going on.
And thanks for the linux version! :-)

Plant Lab by Moebius 2015-12-17T19:47:00

Really nice idea. Pretty unique take. I never really made any money to improve my plant though. Once you're stuck with a crappy plant it is difficult.

Asteroid Madness by maksibonus 2015-12-17T13:39:00

No Linux version :-(.
This is made in Unity, right? So can you provide one? Or alternatively a WebGL version?

Strawberry Trafficking by SunShiranui 2015-12-17T13:36:00

Very nice game. The first two tries I was happily growing my strawberries when I suddenly lost. (What I want to say there is no in-game indication that you need to defend the home at night :-)).

Very humorous and nice sounds and visuals!

Gonflichouettes by blackwires 2015-12-15T23:04:00

For some reason it crashes after the resolution screen. I use Linux x86_64. I tried different resolutions.

Drought by Kep 2015-12-18T17:12:00

Nice game, I like these kind of self-sustaining systems made into games.
Also nice, simple graphics and presentation.

The game could use a little more depth so. There is not much challenge, I played for 10 minutes and nothing much happened.

Turkeyconn Simulator 2016 by Turkey 2015-12-17T14:02:00

I didn't notice at first the raw materials run out. Kind of an important fact.
Also if you have not enough power once it's very hard to get back on track. Because you can neither remove buildings nor reassign power. And generators are expensive!
Also some sounds/music would be really nice.

Other than that this is a fun little game. Nice to let it run in the background ;-)

Growth of the Hive by Wir 2015-12-15T23:34:00

Hi!

You graphics look very cool, they remind me somewhat of starcraft's zerg. Sadly the game does not seem to start. I use linux_x86_64. I stays at "Launching... (this will take a moment)"

The Seed by Geckoo1337 2015-12-17T16:10:00

Hey, the game looks really nice, but sadly I can't play it on linux right now. But this is made in unity, right? Can you maybe export a Linux version or a WebGL version? Thanks! :-)

The Seed by Geckoo1337 2015-12-18T15:30:00

Thanks for the linux version!
I really like the nice and clean presentation of the game it looks really nice.

The concept is definitely interesting but I found the controls way too floaty to get anywhere near the end. I always ended up falling down. Or losing a cube. Very unforgiving and very frustrating (for me.).

Just Grow It ! by sikosis 2015-12-15T23:47:00

Hello,

thanks for trying our game. What do you mean it does not run at level 1? Does it not work on your machine?

@your game: Sadly unity won't play on linux.

SUPER SCIENCE CORP by Hot Box Games 2015-12-17T16:26:00

Waiting for the Linux Version! :-)

SUPER SCIENCE CORP by Hot Box Games 2015-12-18T15:59:00

I managed to find a windows PC to run the game. Linux did not work, I tweeted you about that,.

Now to the game:
It is super awesome for an LDJam entry! Sound, graphics and mood are just perfect. The sneery narrator is a little bit overdone but that might just be me. It worked well enough.

A few points I noticed:
- Internet accesss, as noted before. I guess it's for an online highscore? But without knowing this, this is kind of bad.
- I too noticed the aiming is off. This is quite annoying.
- The first weapon upgrade changed nothing. I guess it already worked correctly before picking up the upgrade.
- You can sweep away chair and TV's but not the actual remains of the bugs. Like this would be your proper job! And the game does not allow you to do it! ;-)

I hope this didn't sound too negative. I consider your game one of the best I've played so far.

Grass Growing Simulator by Aree Vanier 2015-12-18T17:26:00

For me it crashes every few seconds. Maybe I always lose after a very short amount of time but there is not good enough indication on how to avoid that. Or maybe there are some more bugs.

++ For a very literal theme growing interpretation.
But definitely - for abusing the 2 Button control theme... :-(

Imagetchu by DoppleDanger 2015-12-15T23:51:00

Wow, that was really funny. And it was challenging to realise the new button movements. Nice Game!

Flobe by Skinny Jean Death 2015-12-17T16:44:00

No Linux version unfortunately :-(. Game looks interesting though.

Growing Trees! by oparisy 2015-12-15T23:23:00

I liked the animation of the appearing trees, that was nicely done. I covered the whole planet. There should not be trees on water though.

keep it growing by arseneauol 2015-12-15T22:34:00

Sadly, there is no link.

keep it growing by arseneauol 2015-12-16T17:01:00

Nice graphics and music!
But the game is very simplistic. Also not really a challenge once you understand what to do.

And there seem to be a few bugs: restarting only works somtimes. And in the starting menu there are three buttons without labels and I don't really know what each is for.

(Also could you provide a linux version? This should be no problem with unity, right?)

The Incredible Blobert by rattower 2015-12-16T18:04:00

This looks really fun, but unfortunately there is no linux version :-(.
(And it doesn't run in wine after 5 minutes of fiddling.)

Gingerbread Simulator 2015 by tvh33 2015-12-20T21:16:00

Your .love file does not work for windows, if I am not mistaken.

Flip Flop Adventures by Nibbles Team 2015-12-20T21:30:00

Awesome graphics and music. I loved the autogenererated landscape.

Growing Gertrude by edgeofcode 2015-12-20T22:16:00

Great game. I liked the noises of Gertrude. It is not so hard, once you figure out the game. Sadly, I was a glutton and after findig the key I ate to much and got stuck in a cave.

We used to be Neighbours by axoona 2015-12-15T22:27:00

I liked the game. I also got the better solution, which I don't want to spoil here.
I did not really understand why my people were getting unhappy, even if I got rid of all the reds, if they are afraid of them.

Repulsor by valgoun 2015-12-15T23:46:00

Too bad it's only windows... this looks awesome.

Christmas Tree by Pantoufle 2015-12-16T18:57:00

Very cool idea! Let's see where this goes :-).

Thunder On by Lia-Sae 2015-12-15T23:44:00

Very creative game! At first you are a bit confused, and finally, you get you reward. Is there a way to not reach the ground?

SLUG STORM by Niels.Tiercelin 2015-12-16T09:55:00

Cool game. The sprites were well made and the advance of the enemies was very challenging. These poor birds though.

Natura by Eldraev 2015-12-15T22:54:00

Wow, really cool game!

S - Court by DrFallos 2015-12-17T16:06:00

Very solid entry! Nice Art and sound effects (although they get a bit repetitive). I found it a bit distracting when a character was on stage multiple times.

Another thing that was not immediately clear to me was why are there two different buttons? I guess they have no effect on the judging, only on the corruption choices?
Maybe the controls be be optimized :-).

Skyway by Decentsauce 2015-12-16T13:22:00

Fun little game. I liked the voice sounds :-).

I did some pygame projects in past Ludum Dares and I just build a Version for Linux of your game. You can find it here if you want to add it: https://cloud.bubu1.eu/index.php/s/LepyntSlO5lXR10/download

Grow To Jump by Lares Yamoir 2015-12-16T14:55:00

I missed jumping to pass the spikes! But when I read how they worked here it wasn't that hard to do.

DeepHunt:Procedural gen. survival by Saivan 2015-12-15T22:51:00

Nice game, I liked the sonar idea. It was really tough to stay big though.

Jay in Love Garden by Namek 2015-12-25T23:24:00

It's a funny idea but I have tried a lot of times and never seem to beat the first level. I don't know if I'm just doing it wrong, but it seems to be very hard to beat your game.

ADDA by LazyDev 2015-12-16T16:47:00

God! The control scheme is horrible!

The graphics are pretty nice and the fighting might actually be fun if with proper controls. ;-)

Soup by utgarda 2015-12-16T12:55:00

Wow, really cool game. One- and Two-Player modus both very appreciated.

Hammy and the Amazing Technicolour Hamster Ball by PieChronicles 2015-12-16T15:06:00

No Linux Version :-(.

Apple Juice Tycoon by felixreeve 2015-12-17T15:19:00

Fun little game! Not quite an idle game. I like how you progressively can manage the more high level decisions and less your employees immediate needs.
I think I found a bug though. Employing someone with the name [ seems to have crashed the game (everything turn white).

Build Town by TeamMJZ 2015-12-16T16:39:00

This looks very promising, but could you provide a linux build?
Or a WebGl build if this works for you, but there is no Unity web player plugin for linux.

Build Town by TeamMJZ 2015-12-18T16:42:00

Very nice game. I really like your art style!
But I guess it needs some work. Farms did not really work for me because of pathfinding problems. Pacing could be improved and some reason to explore would be nice.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Gerry Wins! by BubuIIC 2016-04-19T02:47:00

@OrangePop: I never had this problem, which version are you using?

Gerry Wins! by BubuIIC 2016-04-22T16:28:00

@Osaft: I think it's just unknown to the AV because it's hosted on my personal site. So they block it by default. :-/

Gerry Wins! by BubuIIC 2016-04-26T16:25:00

@StaNov: Thanks for trying it out. Well, the game is about shifting the shape of electoral districts, so it fairly fits the theme.

Arnold Stallion's Pump or Die by arzi 2016-04-21T21:24:00

This is really awesome. The heart attack was super effective. Nice take on the theme.

I Have Brig Plans by reheated 2016-04-22T16:19:00

We managed to get to the end. Extra point for the end 'puzzle'. :-) Very well done, it feels quite polished for an 48h entry!.

There is also nice flow to the puzzle difficulty, you definitely got the progression right. More puzzles would be nice of course, maybe with multiple unknown prisoners.

We made a game with a very similar yet somehow very different take on the theme interpretation, maybe you want to check it out :-).

The cat of two worlds by Thijs Tak 2016-04-25T09:45:00

Nice game. I really like the idea that the cat has this unearthly power to change the shape of its surrounding. Controls were a little bit weird, though. Biggest problem I had, that I died during the battle with that evil bad thingy and got totally stuck at the save point. I just couldn't get through to the fight seen any more. :-(

But nevertheless: good job!

Special Delivery by OnlySlightly 2016-04-24T22:36:00

itch.io is so incredibly sloooow. It takes almost an hour here to download the 100 MB version :-(.
And you don't have to distribute the .pdb files. These are just debugging symbols.
As to the game: Okaaaaay.... That was weird! But fun! :-)
Love the style btw.

ADAPT by cabezotta 2016-04-25T14:39:00

Very nice game, it's very polished. It's really fun with two players. I especially liked the clean, nice aesthetics and sound.

We noticed a few minor bugs though:
- In the tutorial one player completely disappeared after using the sphere shape for too long.
- Sometimes you randomly get stuck where you cannot change your shape anymore and also cannot move.
- When activating two player mode you cannot go back to one player mode without restarting the game.

I'm interested in how you did the level generation, care to share your source code?

ShapeShiftBFG by tppr2046 2016-04-25T11:13:00

Ah! It took me a while to understand exactly how this works. The 'kill zone' is based around you, not the pillars you shoot. And it is moving with you. But after understanding that this is actually quite fun. The slow shoot speed has actually an advantage, here. Shoot the blue pillar then head into a pack of enemies. :-)

What I think is lacking is some kind of score/progress counter. Maybe a fixed time limit and count how many robots the player managed to kill.

Also one more thought. Maybe the shape of the pillar can represent the kill zone shape?

ShapeShiftBFG by tppr2046 2016-04-25T11:15:00

Oh another thing. You don't have to distribute the .pdb files. They are debugging symbols and just take up space in the build.
And could you provide a Linux/MacOS version? It's easy in Unity and then people without Windows can play your game.

ShapeShift for Cheese by Adipson 2016-04-20T14:54:00

Those graphics are really impressive! It's a nice click and point adventure. The adventure is quite short and the riddles quite simple, but its still great work for that short development time.

Za bochok by CAT_IN_THE_DARK_WOOD 2016-04-24T12:25:00

Looks really great and the music gives it a nice eerie touch!

ShifterMaze by drentsoft 2016-04-25T10:22:00

Very nice, a maze game! We did one a few years back :-).

At first I missed the shift-speedup function and wanted to complain. That's what you get for playing first reading the description later.

Also I didn't notice any traps. There are some holes in the ground sometimes, but you can;t really fall into them.

I guess the levels are designed manually right now? Maybe you can look into generating some procedurally :-).

But I agree with dalbinblue that movement is a bit fiddly. So either try axis aligned movement as suggested or maybe you can remove the stickiness when moving along a wall.

I also agree on showing the goal position above the maze would be a nice incentive on where you'd have to go.

Makeshift by NickMakesGames 2016-04-19T12:13:00

Very impressive work! Although I dint' get the name at first, I had to google shift dresses (not a native speaker) ;-).

Ludumdare #35 by Robert 2016-04-24T12:53:00

Somehow itch.io hosting is sooooo sloooow. I'm downloading the 30 MB in 25 minutes. :-(
And per default it asks everyone to pay/donate something for the game.

As for the game: It would have been nice if there were a description for the items so that you have an idea what they are doing. And there is an issue with the inventory there were free slots left and I could not pick up any more items. But also when I dropped items more appeared in the inventory,

Other then that the game was enjoyable, the music quite nice and I managed to defeat the demon. Nice work.

Rebellium by Anti 2016-05-06T21:37:00

Nice idea switching between two different game modes. The game was rather unchallenging though. I tried to loose on purpose and still vanquished the rebels.

Echoes by FrameMatt 2016-04-25T11:28:00

This game has a great mood. It's dark and you feel quite uncomfortable beeing watched by a giant eye. :-D
Unfortunately, the controls are quite buggy. Not only was I constantly dying in the 3rd level (it was quite hard), randomly the controls just refused to work... :-( That's a pity, because I really enjoyed it so far.

Especially liked your memory graphics. ;-)

Hunters and Hunted by Jadernak 2016-04-25T10:14:00

This was a great story and it got me hooked the entire game. The overall feeling of this game was great and everything fitted really nice into it, beginning with the nice old style map and ending with the goose quill sound.
Some typing errors, though. ;-)

The Aurora Project by doomista 2016-04-25T11:07:00

It's a quite interesting idea. Of course, in this stage there is not really much to do. Also, you move quite slowly. It's of course more realistic and gives a feeling of empty space but I think it would be more fun, if you could speed up a little. Would also love to see movements in more than two dimensions (as you planned).

Conflict: Transforming Warfare by Aggrathon 2016-04-25T10:53:00

Very nice game! Impressive for 48h of work. Even more so the well done tutorials.

The web version wasn't working correctly though. I zoomed in and the screen got all grey and never recovered.

WASD to move is nice, but screen edge scroll would be really helpful I think.

In the third tutorial level our units stopped to attack each other after a while (I and the opponent both had 1 tank left). So I just ignored him and completed the level.

I managed to complete the city map fairly easily, but the desert map seems to be quite a bit tougher.

Wizard of Shapes by puppetmaster 2016-04-24T22:10:00

itch.io is so incredibly sloooow. It takes 20 minutes here to download the game :-(.

This was a nice game. Graphics and Audio were great, the was a bit short though. And I managed to hit a bug at the end I think. I died twice and on the third retry the shapes stopped moving. This made beating this level quite a bit easier.

GapeJaw McGraw by biscuitdough 2016-04-25T11:54:00

Haha, that was weird. But funny! It wasn't too hard to figure out, what was to be done.

Graphics is fine, too. But maybe you should change the font style. It is illegible.

By the way. He died at the end but didn't choke. That means, I win, doesn't it? Or did I lose? I'm not sure. Maybe make that a little clearer.

Song of death by scnoobi 2016-04-24T21:10:00

Not bad, but it's really short (and easy). You could just send more and more enemies indefinitely and I guess it would be quite fun to play for a while.

Also I don't really see where it fits into the theme.

Funny background music :-)

Hart of the Forest by adsilcott 2016-04-25T15:29:00

It's a pity, it's not quite finished. It looks really cool and the overall mood is just right for the theme. But it lacks in gameplay at this stage.
But nevertheless it is really well done!

Reshape by Mantlair 2016-04-25T16:00:00

Please consider a fallback hosting solution to itch.io. It takes ages (20 min) to download your game for me. (Generally itch.io is soooo sloooow...)
Also you don't have to include the .pdb files in your archive. These are just debugging symbols.

To the game: Very well done puzzle game, I liked it a lot. I'm still working on the last two puzzles.
As already said, multiple undo steps would be nice. Also there seems to be a bug when docking multiple shapes at once not all are highlighted immediately.

I really like the variety of puzzle elements and how they nicely fit together.

LabRadDog by MoreRPG Team 2016-05-03T21:41:00

Very interesting concept. The mouse movement was to coarse. I liked the different visuals and abilities very much. Maybe limiting the number of transformations was not a good idea. I got always stuck, when I had no food to transform but needed to transform to reach higher food. But awesome idea.

Greenvasor by jakass 2016-04-22T19:48:00

I quite like your graphics and style but the game itself is a bit simplistic. There is not much to do (shoot everything) and it's over quite fast. The concept of the good/bad butterflies is nice though, maybe something can be made from that :-).

Oh and by the way, why do corrupted butterflies actually attack UFOs? ;-)

Can't Drive This - #cantdrivethis by pixel_maniacs 2016-04-22T14:05:00

I just kept exploding when I stopped the car. Is there an explosive that goes off, when I am too slow? Otherwise very good use of the theme. I like that multiplayer is optional. I
We also have an optional multiplayer in our game.

TamaHero by monetai 2016-04-24T22:22:00

Really cool graphics. And also the sound and music are quite nice. The game itself felt very repetitive and I didn't understand why it suddenly just ended. There is not really any feedback for your actions.

TamaHero by monetai 2016-04-24T22:31:00

Ah, and you don't need to distribute the .pdb files. These are just debugging symbols. Saves over half of your games space.

A Tale Of Shifted Shapes by Odyssey 2016-04-25T11:43:00

This game looks really nice and works flawless. Graphics are really good! I just think it is quite unnessecary to have us to press enter.
Also it is quite repetitive...

The Wewelsburg Experiment by BubsyPoochies 2016-04-24T12:30:00

This game rocks. These random mutations make it exciting to play. Intense mood too!

GeoShift by WASD 2016-04-20T14:49:00

Graphics are awesome! It also was a lot of fun to play, although quite challenging, but that has not to be a bad thing. But I'm absolutely to clumsy for that fast SpeedUp thingy! :-D Maybe I should play another round! ;-)

Quadrilateral Circle by FrozenCow 2016-04-24T12:21:00

Really good game! It's very, very fun to play. Not too easy and not too hard, I enjoyed finishing it. :-)
The general control of the characters reminded me a bit of the game Gish.

Feel the Rampage by Paploum 2016-04-24T13:20:00

First of all, you don't have to include the .pdb files in your download these are debugging symbols databases, this could save ~40MB download size.

The game looks really good, but for rating your game it would be nice if you'd clarify what you did yourself and what you used from the asset store. Also the sounds/music is self-made or also from somewhere else?

As for the game, it is unfortunately quite glitchy. The Camera is jittery and the image is obscured by ceiling decorations sometimes. The movement fells floaty and awkwardly slow, especially in the troll form. Also it would be really nice to have combined animations for jumping + attacking etc.

There also a few bugs with the menu state. After I died no further waves spawned after choosing play again. And the character keeps moving when you enter the menu while it is already moving.

Barrel Roller by Sandyloisa 2016-04-25T09:00:00

Unfortunately I can't really play this as I don't have the flash player installed anywhere. :-(

Fishy Shift by undeadaubergine 2016-04-19T11:45:00

The game is indeed addictive, we played it for over half an hour :-). A few things that I think can be improved:
- Collision boxes. It feels very unfair at times, because you don't actually touched anything and die.
- Mouse lock. The mouse stops responding as soon as it leaves the game window.
- The music is a quite repetitive.

But otherwise a very nice game :-).

Shift and Catch 'em by fatsopanda 2016-04-20T14:46:00

I really like your Graphics and the overall idea is good. But to join some of the former comments, I found it pretty hard to avoid some of the astroids making it a very hard game.
Also I could not hear any music. I was playing the Web version. Don't know, if I'm the only one with this problem.

But all in all good job!

zerkitu by Paradoxa42 2016-04-25T10:29:00

I really can't play this with these keybindings! Please provide WASD or arrow key control. And PLEASE don't provide an installer for your game. Just an extractable archive.

Shapegrammer by APantaloni 2016-04-25T15:21:00

Well made and polished game. But I just can't get the rotation right. I think it would be far easier for me if the left/right keys would just rotate the shape relative to it's current orientation. As already suggested maybe you could provide both control schemes?

Orange by TomJongens 2016-04-24T21:57:00

Please make an extractable archive, not an installer.

It took us a while to figure out what is going on an what you actually have to do. Also the controls for player one and two are reversed. (Left Player on the screen plays with the right set of keys.)

Also it is really hard to actually destroy the other star before you run into a wrongly colored orb. I really liked the clean minimal graphics and the atmospheric music.

Morgana's Curse by Team: Morganas Curse 2016-04-24T12:29:00

Nice Idea. Maybe there should be a bigger reward for freeing each village, maybe a new power so that you want to keep on playing.

The Witch & The Witcher by PixVox 2016-04-19T12:01:00

Hi,

I liked the artstyle very much, and I think I got the idea of the game. I was able to sneak past the guards inside the chest, but after floating to the next level, I couldn't figure out what to do.
I think the idea to turn into game objects and use them to your advantage is great. Keep up the good work!

AdventureQuest by brocklee 2016-04-25T09:04:00

I can't figure out how to run this. It seems that the Windows link is just the source distribution. And there is no executable file.
