Exclamation mark as an indicator of incoming threat is really confusing, especially since it does not provide any more info about when it is coming. Otherwise, nice graphics and the torch mechanic is not bad idea at all.
@joe40001 I appreciate your feedback, no need to apologize for constructive criticism :) I can see that the randomness of the rain together with the controls problems might be frustrating and it wasn't in my intentions to make it non-survivable in the case of a bad luck. The point about hardest part being random is definitely very valid one, I'll keep it in mind for next time.
The flow, the art and the music are simply amazing.
With a few tweaks this would amazing game. First, as was mentioned, it's too dark. Second it would really help if you could see longer the level you died. Right the interval is so short that instead of relying on puzzle solving it feels more like trial and error. Apart from these, good job.
If the flashing changed color, it would be just like acid trips from movies :)
A pitty you did not make it for the compo. It will be judged more harshly. But I like it, nice animations and fun game.
I liked the concept and nice sounds :) The controls are bad though which makes this game less fun than it could've been I had the same issue the last LD myself. Keep it up.
Destructible environment is great here and exploding chairs are fun. On the other hand, the amount of particles is little over top.
Loving the music, fun and fast-paced but could be a little bit harder :)
As others have said, it is not easy to grasp on at first. Basically a turn-based MOBA. I would add something like that in the description. But once you know what you are doing it is fun.
Love the low poly art. Challenging but still fun. Good job.
Thanks mildmojo, as well, for the explanation. A little bit confusing UI and the economy escalates very quickly. Reaching the end goal is just matter of time and knowing what to do :) Cool game though.
Some mini-game with fishing would be awesome but still very enjoyable game.
Oh how I hate horror games. I didn't enjoyed this one which on the other hand means you have done good job with it:)
I must agree with the sounds being annoying.
The idea is funny and I thought it smart as well. The gameplay was not my cup of tea, a worse version of pinball.
Loose controls always make the games like these annoying. Not hard just annoying. I had that experience with my previous game. Maybe try play around with different aspect than the controls.
I'm not a huge fan of detective stories where I am the one doing the detective work but the story was interesting enough to keep me going.
The movement could be waay faster and I don't feel any weight to my actions.
The pack of mobs reminded me of Enfo's WC3 custom maps. Anyway, nice low-poly art and it is fun. One room for improvement I see is less tunnel-vision weapon upgrades. Half of my gameplay I was standing in the middle holding Space.
What an original idea!
"You don't even have to use drugs for this. But it's better." Quite an experience you've created. The effect is however over the top and I got sick quickly.
Interesting puzzle concept.
The combination of music, sounds and the setting kept me on the edge of my seat, good job sir.
It has everything! The optimal strategy of keeping the right distance is probably the only weak spot I can think of.
Unique idea and well executed, channelling into our primal urge to destroy.
Did not work for me on Win 7 :(
The most fun I had so far in this LD, good job!
Hard to know where you are shooting and agree with Dragon XVI about the camera. But otherwise fun game and nice concept.
I found the sounds annoying after a while :(
Quite interesting concept in some of the levels, good job.
@strega I will update the description, hopefully that could help future players.
@KedumeBits Hard difficulty should be harder to manage, but I agree that it could require more input from player.
@ungarischeziegenspielen Oh they are not dying they just have a breakdown and need to rest a bit (or get slapped if that's your thing :D )
@43iscoding Good to hear someone got the mechanics straight away :) I will keep randomization in my mind for the next time.
Thanks @Jupiter, appreciated :)
Nice style, the gameplay was not as much fun as I would have hoped, despite the interesting concept.
It was satisfying and the upgrades kept it fresh. Surely it can't be that hard to spawn enemies inside the area? :)
Man, it so dark out there. I am glad you didn't have too much time for graphical stuff because than I would get scared.
Glitchy style sounds were not that great and ill-fitting the overall mood. But otherwise wonderful relaxing game.
I did some attacks but I am afraid that you will a very little audience for this experiment.
I hate this concept of combat (Hammerfight style). But that doesn't mean it's a bad game, on the contrary. Good job :)
I had some troubles moving the camera in both embedded and web links. Windows one worked but the trigger areas could be bigger. Other than that solid entry.
Amazing style :)
My oh my, this is unforgiving game. Amazing graphics and everything seems very polished. For me it is on border-line between hard versus fun but I bet that was your goal.
Applause for fun networking game.
I must admit this was way more fun than I've imagined and I just had to finish it. The two frustrating thing is that click to move goes one step back and also music gets repetitive. Otherwise good job.
Some sort of tutorial would be helpful :)
Not bad for a couple of hours work.
Sounds like you had a message to say but so confusing input controls discouraged me quickly.
It would be nice if passing identity check would be visible on the guys themselves, not just minimap. Nice settings of the game :)
@Drusilla :D I am afraid it reads Wet feet lows.
@uprightpath In average (statistically speaking) you should buy supplies and spend them on food plus go for gold whenever possible. I didn't want to make it too easy so you could last the entire story with just starting items :)
@uprightpath You are right, while in the long run what I've described is the best, personally I start by buying food in Farreach and save supplies for scavanging and gold in desert. :)
@Swynfel Thanks for the feedback and the praise. The main story is relatively short so I can see why the randomness could be very punishing. I couldn't just pump up starting resources because than you could finish the game just with them. However I do agree the dices could be more in the players favor.
It could really use a restart button for levels.
Amazing graphics and polish level, it looks like it could be a lot of fun in coop. Sadly I got a lot of crashes.
I have to give is another try when my brain functions properly :) Clever idea nevertheless.
Pretty accurate science right there. Getting stuck on wall sucks though.
Some sort of countdown after losing before next game would be good.
The map exploration part wasn't that good, I would be perfectly fine if you just stuck with dialogues all the way. That being said I smiled a lot :)
Very cute little game
Simple yet good looking and fun puzzle.
Wow an intro cinematic, nice! Wider perspective and faster speed would be my tips.
Some sort of variety with upgrades or tower types is essential for fun TD, otherwise it gets boring very quickly.
Props for multiplayer game
For me at least it would have to be a lot weirder to maintain my interest. Still nice to see weird games around.
The timeframe jumping was executed very well and the story itself was good enough. You were also on the right track with believability of the characters. I would really enjoy if you would be able to bend the story though choices not just add information to it.
The camera could be more much fluid IMO. The models were nice.
Not very challenging concept.
Thumbs up for art.
Believe it or nor, I've realized I had never played a text adventure before, so this was my introduction. I got stuck very quickly. It's probably my lack of experience but I could use some hints. The story seemed intriguing.
Beautiful art. Gameplay is a little bit lacking, might want to invest into programmer/designer next time :)
Had no luck running it :( I am on Win 10, it loads up and it looks like the game flashes for a few frames but than it's just black screen. I do hear sounds though.
Did not help, the log has just some audio info.
@MrBrenan Thanks man, appreciated.
@wheerd If nothing else, I plan to continue using this engine in upcoming LDs so there will be more :)
@IshikawaNakamura I started on the coding side like two-three days before LD, in a leisurely tempo and progressively it got crazier and crazier. So I can't claim it's totally from scratch in 3 days but more like 6 days :)
@m110 Just play around it man :D
@Reversal Mirror That is intentional, they are trying to hatch into your game over.
@lordvorath Glad to hear, it's not super difficult to figure out
@Leroyii Interesting observation. There are so few cards simply because I run of time (and steam).
@MaximumIllusion Cheers :)
@Junber More or less scripted version of Hearthstone is exactly what I had in mind when I set out to do this, so I guess I did it :)
@OttoOtteist I had some quite nasty bugs that took a lot of my time. Originally I was aiming at full 30 cards deck.
@Drury The idea of giving TCG a shot has been brewing in my head for quite some time, so LD was natural choice. Thanks for the bug report, will look into it.
Absolutely loved it, tried to see all the outcomes. The recursion was very well done, thumbs up.
While I can live without restart, gameplay wise it had unfulfilled potential. Some abilities would be great, since kiting doesn't seem to be a thing here. It was pretty to look at though.
Cure graphics, programming could use a lit polish and overall your next LD entry will surely be amazing.
Funny thing, my first LD compo entry had exactly the same issues with sliding. Overall good job on your first entry, it only gets better from here.
Most likely the best graphics I've see so far. The wall climbing mechanic wasn't very well executed in my opinion.
It certainly has a good, positive vibe to it. Loving the music selection. I could use a little bit of easing into i:. Start with one camera, next level two etc.
I agree with some of the other comments, a better feedback would help a lot. I don't think it was that hard to figure out the controls though. The story and especially the mood were great. Btw the font size is terrible, I had to move my laptop close to figure out some numbers.
If I ignore from the zoom mechanic, it was great experience. Fun and crazy.
The intro was really really good, I got pumped to play it. The mood is superb, graphics okey, gameplay nothing really innovative but enjoyable nevertheless. I found the sound of the little guy annoying after a while but that was offset by lovely guitar.
The font selection was a little unfortunate but there is something about these simulators which always captivates me for a long time. Great game! Would love an expensive option to automatically send to capital.
Not a big fan of the art-style, the music was great though. Not much to experience here I am afraid and that's coming from gone home/dear esther fan, some voice over would help a lot in my opinion.
Digging the graphics! So fluid and well polished. Hitting the critical mass is so satisfying, even if it's short lived thrill.
I really like the sailing mechanic concept, it always fascinated me that you can almost sail against the wind. Music is fitting, the graphics are not bad. The people you save could use some cartoon-y drawing love, but hey it's game dev jam :)
I got stuck after exiting playground and couldn't move, but the game seemed enjoyable. Since the art was well done and you have a sense of humour, I think it would serve the game better to be more adventury rather then walking experience.
Nice graphics. The water could flow just a little bit faster :)
