Really interesting concept, lets you sit down and do some detective work. Only improvement could be smaller font? so you don't have to scroll and graphics to go with the text and add polish.

Like Clue in Twine.
Classic setup that never grows old.
Like that stuff...!

Very nice! I loved the parenthetical humor throughout.

zwartraider 2015-04-20 19:03

Oh man, been I while since I clicked through a real text adventure :) The Clue setting is pretty cool as well.

Nice game. I always like Twine games which arent just strictly interactive fiction. Really liked it.

You didn't disappoint! :D

I'm not a huge fan of detective stories where I am the one doing the detective work but the story was interesting enough to keep me going.

WARNING: COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS.

Great writing! But I'm afraid I really haven't a clue... the answer seems different every time, but everyone says the same things...

Then I looked at the source and, well, these are very very subtle! I would sure hope that IRL they don't arrest people for being a bit nervous when faced by a possible accusation :)

stevenlr 2015-04-20 19:46

Well that was not easy but I got one third of the solution at least. :D The story is very well written and it is not easy at all to find the culprit. Good job!

sbarrio 2015-04-20 21:05

Interesting idea!

nihilaleph 2015-04-20 23:00

Great work! Loved the setting! And I really like text adventure ^^

=====SPOILER ALERT======

Well that's not fair, the weapon being something completely random xp I was able to figure out the killer and the place though ^^ (I was certain after I read the code too kkk)

cgmorton 2015-04-20 23:21

The writing here is great, I'll give you that.

But I went through this game several times trying to solve it before getting frustrated and reading the source code.

*SPOILERS*
It turns out there isn't any deduction involved! :( Just noticing a certain sentence. And as far as I can tell you can't choose the right weapon, period.

I dunno, I felt kind of gypped about that. You have these motives and these secret passages and everything, and not one bit of it matters to the case.
*END*

The writing is fantastic, really fits the tone of the overall piece. I couldn't quite get the hang of the deduction, but I like the way you play with the theme overall. Great work.

onlyslightly 2015-04-21 05:11

That was a ton of fun! I love how the conditions are different everytime and I love the clue setting and characters. I loved exploring all of the hidden passageways. The dialogue was really well written too. Great job!

bpvelloso 2015-04-21 17:19

Well organized. Nice work.

ethproductions 2015-04-21 22:35

After playing through this a couple of times, I think I finally understand both the meaning of this game, and how An Unconventional Weapon fits in. :) Extremely innovative entry!

nuvleargames 2015-04-29 15:49

Well done, will play more when I have time but I think it is a great effort nice to see Cluedo again

caryoscelus 2015-05-05 11:26

This was quite intriguing, but finding out small clues when there are more obvious ones (like secret passages - i actually thought one of them was used by murderer and guessed correct culprit by accident) and rereading text over to find differences isn't that interesting. Still, good work.

I liked the bit how you can't guess the weapon :D

And just a small note: "right - center - left" is counter-intuitive order :)
