LD23 — Tiny World

Unusable Man and the Orbs of Exponential Growth by samwoakley 2012-05-13T11:35:00

nice! loved the music! loved way his little arms animate when he moves. loved the way the earth gracefully animates off-screen to keep the player pretty-much centered.

Maybe add some power-ups which could change the music and give abilities, like shields.

brilliant. a great example of simplifying until you have something fun, then building on it. Love the way it gets really complex then seems to reset to a basic level again, to assert a new rule.

I'd hate to see this 'enhanced' with more fancy graphics, title screens etc. I like the purity and instand action. Reactive music would be good, or sounds.

loved the irregular-shaped planets!

the enemies seem to be doing a lot more clever things than make any difference to the gameplay

like the automatic paused state.

can't run it as I'm not on Windows. Concepts sounds very complex and interesting but not necessarily fun!

Impressed with how complete this is.

could do with some UX work. Progressive disclosure of components on the toolbar. Integrating the instructions into the game. Refine the controls.

Could have been good to think more about how different nanobots would be to program than regular bots.

If you can do something this thorough in 48h, lots of potential for this game.

Would love to see the wit of the text reach into the game mechanics, too :)
