I can't say I'm a fan of this type of game, but it was a good attempt at it. One thing I can say right away is that the text was too hard to read for me.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD34 → Build Town

Thanks SSJMetroid! We are thinking of building onto this game for the future so all those little bugs will be fixed and comments like yours will be taken :).Thank you for your time :D
It was nice peacefully building my town to the music. Needs some polish for sure.
Yes it does indeed! Thanks VideoDog
Wow, what an ambitious game! I like the atmosphere and I felt compelled to complete the checklist. Played it for quite a while and enjoyed it!
There were a number of bugs that made this city-builder a little frustrating to play, but overall it's quite impressive to come so far in 72 hours in a 3D city-building environment. Between AI, modeling, art, and sound, this is a great entry.
I had issues placing houses because they collided with farms, despite being quite far away. Every other person I spawned then assigned glitched out and ran sideways out of my view. The graphic for farms was for some reason a fireplace, which was actually a fireplace in the tutorial.
I hope that helps to debug some of those issues. I'd have also loved to have the camera move faster and zoom out further.
This is a really nice effort, it is really difficult to try and create an ecosystem kind of game. It has a great ambient mood, which is helped by a great choice of music. I can see this game being great to just chill and waste time with. I think there's a bug at the start cause it said I only had one person, but there were two, only one of whom could collect things? Perhaps it's because I checked out the tutorial (which spawned two people) before checking out the main game. I think this game would be greatly improved with a cleaner visual style, but that is understandably hard to achieve in such a short space of time. Good work!
Definitely alot of bugs need to be destroyed / imporved on this game, we realised this but had not enough time to do so. Thank you all for your support, this truely is awesome to see these comments as they help us improve :).
Very ambitious project, and you guys got quite a good amount done in 72 hours! I also had a hard time reading text (I did the web build). You say you should be playing the game at 1080p. Here's a hint: when you build the game for web, set the desktop resolution to 1920x1080, then build it. Now, when someone goes fullscreen, they'll play it at 1920x1080 instead of the game just playing at the same resolution but stretched!
Definitely a good start to a town building game. Needs a lot more depth, but I'm not sure I could do any better in three days, so good work!
It has a nice Idea.
Loved the atmosphere. Great job.
Very cool game! The pacing was kinda slow though and I found myself getting bored waiting for them to collect the resources I needed to build. Otherwise it looks, sounds, and plays great. Nice job!
It did not load for me for some reason. Using Safari.
I adore the art and music. Nice work
This is a neat little game :)
Just a small heads up: whenever I right clicked in the Web player, the context menu would show up. This gets really annoying real fast. I don't know if you can disable this in Unity, but I'd imagine you can (most other Unity web games don't have this - especially not when they use the right mouse button for something in the game)
Yeah, that will be eventually fixed, please try the Downloaded version :). Thank you
Get pleasure from low-poly and gameplay! good work!
+ Nice concept.
+ Cool ambient music.
- Not so good graphics.
- Game needs more polish (maybe post-Compo version?)
Very ambitious project, keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Zazine (Tyrants-not-found-team)
Reminds me somehow of Towns ;) I like the style but the game definitly needs some more polishing. Also: the web player always shows me a popup menu when I right click to move my people.
Thank you Guys, we are going to persue the game and update and polish it off for the improved PC AND Mobile version. Will have a website soon hopefully with all the details if anyone is interested!
It is quite an ambitious game! I think you did a good job. Maybe a little slow but I'm not into this kind of game.
I enjoyed the atmosphere the game was going for! :>
However my persons kept bugging at the farm entrance (they could bring the food back to barn but going back to farm they started to walk against the fence)
Music was +++
Really enjoyed it ;)
Yeah, they seem to try and take a short cut just at the last second -_- haha, will fix and do a post-compo version!
I couldn't figure out how to play this thing
This looks very promising, but could you provide a linux build?
Or a WebGl build if this works for you, but there is no Unity web player plugin for linux.
Was good for a 72 game jam, however the game as is, has no gameplay purpose, and would need something to make it a worth while game.
Feedback:
Camera movement faster (Maybe you could have it move at different speeds at different heights and/or have a button that while holding makes it go faster, or just generally faster).
The game doesn't seem well balance in terms of getting resources (Again probably just because of your time limit)
Environment was nice, but I had no reason to explore it, especially not with a character.
Tutorial wasn't a tutorial? IDK what it's supposed to do, but it was exactly the same as the main game, except different goals and area.
Like I said good for 72 hour game jam, if you continue working on it good luck :)
I really liked the music. The pathing would mess up with my houses and farms, and since I couldn't move them I couldn't fix the pathing.
It took me a while to figure out you needed to click the characters feet to select them.
I agree that a post compo version could really help this game, in particular for balance and speed of the game.
nice game and good concept, i enjoyed playing it. great work
The controls are really confusing. I don't know if growth fits on the game theme..
Thanks everybody! YEs alot of bugs and such, trying to get the most links we can and fix these bugs for a post comp game.
We believe it suits growth by the population growing :)
Ah nice game, it's impressive to see a RTS in a Ludum Dare, not easy to implement in such a little amount of time. The art is interesting, minimalist, polygonal, clean and sharp, I like it. Great job :)
Needs some polish but I think you have something here!I enjoyed playing it!
This was a very nice tiny civ management game :). I liked the mood quite much and the workers were quite fun. The graphics and music worked together well. Good job!
Very nice game. I really like your art style!
But I guess it needs some work. Farms did not really work for me because of pathfinding problems. Pacing could be improved and some reason to explore would be nice.
very rough around edges. there were some pathfinding issues. third guy got stuck in some invisible limbo and sometimes guys would get confused on what they are supposed to do and teleport to nearby guy doing his work instead. but overall, i played it longer than most other games. good start.
I love city builders and while this would definitely need a lot more features to be a full game, it is absolutely amazing given the time frame. Job well done! And I hope you continue to work on this.
Nice attempt. Not really catching me in a way that I expected, but I'm sure that more effort will prove the game to be successful.
Very impressive amount of art and depth for 72 hours. Nice entry.
Ambitious!
I have to say that making a rts game in 72h is quite a challenge and you have a pretty good start here :) I'm sure if you polish the models, animations and add more content (and maybe balance the resource gathering process that is a bit slow) it would be a cool rts. Liked it !
Love the gameplay
Nice entry! I had some problems with villagers having pathfinding problem and going to the edge of the map, but appart from that, it is well executed. I like the mood of this game. Good job ! ;)
Cool idea, but I would like to see more things to do and I would especially like to see the bugs removed; characters frequently became stuck. Also, maybe a way to remove buildings? I liked it though :)
Like others have said, the farm pathfinding made them kind of useless to me so all I had to do was collect wood and build tons of houses :P
Nice work though, the music choice is great and it has a really nice relaxing mood to it that kept me playing for around 10 mins or so.
I'd remove the tutorial btw, as it doesn't teach much and is just a faster ending version of the main game (at least from what I could see). I had to kill the app to leave the tutorial and play the main game, so an ESC key would be cool :)

For me it's looked an Age of Empire-like strategy game with survival elements without war. I loved the concept but some bug always caused me trouble to navigate and stay alive with the habitants. The user interface is simple and the graphic elements are not informative enough. I feel the music is really close to Banished.
