Amazing! Perfectly fits the theme, beautiful artwork, great impact sound, and it's full of (dark) humor! Five stars!
Amazing game! Congratulations! Looks and plays perfectly, and it is hard. Wonderful!
Art, sound... And that helmet and "Dad?.." moment is precious.
I liked playing it a lot, but solving the puzzle left me unsatisfied as it was more chance, not by logic. Feeling of extreme suspense/urgency makes it an outstanding entry!
It may not match the theme perfectly, but there's a great feeling of being hunted, when you are chased by blue squares, and freefall down into the caverns is really fun!
You can actually escape from the thugs on your little trusty scooter :) Click in the same or adjacent lanes to accelerate...
@jomomomo
We still want to post a Mac OS X version, when we fix one nasty retina-display related bug. No Linux version is possible, though, if you wanted one.
Hey everybody, Mac OS X version is out! :)
Hard, which is great! Great, which is hard :) Thanks for the game!
Congratulations! You've made a fun game with a great take on the theme. :)
Also, you said you could edit our dialogues a little bit (The Wrong Door) - here is a link: http://goo.gl/Y2xyBs to the texts.
Many thanks!
Great little game! More levels, please!
Stealth gameplay mechanic is different from what I've seen in other games and pretty innovative!
Read that graphics were created on an iPad. Interesting!
Your game is fun, very playable.
Great choice of controls makes it sooooo difficult! :) LD31! It would not be as fun with ordinary arrows or something. Placement of keys on the keyboard turns this QTE into a mind-breaking masterpiece ;)
Looks great, and special attacks are... special!
Interesting take on the theme!
Hey there thank you for commenting on our entry and congrats to you too on making a multiplayer game ;) Courageous indeed, don't you think? :)
Our problem this LD is with the low number of people online. How do you get people to rate if they can't play?!?
Anyway, we just had to make an online game. It just felt right.
You have craaaazy sounds btw :)
Fantastic atmospheric audio, immersive action-puzzle gameplay, nice graphics! What else can we ask for? Running away from Harvey the Robot is fun, thanks!
Just 48 hours? Amazing results.
Concept may not be that innovative, and in Russian localisation you are somehow destroying the bashkirs, not mongols (not the most obvious choice for an enemy, and mongols are now mostly good guys too :) ).
Carnage is a bit routine too.
Colourful is a plus!
Idea of stacking plasma creatures of different colors is interesting. Wish I could learn to differentiate between order in which they are stacked to be able to shoot series of missiles without waiting for the frontmost creature to disappear.
Controls are a bit difficult for me too.
Mac OS X version coming very very soon!
Mac OS X version has been added!
Sorry, Linux version will be a bit more difficult to make. We'll have to port our engine to Linux first, which we have planned, but later...
Chances are higher to get an Android or iOS version, but there we may need to work on assets to save some RAM.
> LD 31 have problem and need to close, on Windows XP Professional 32 bit.
Did you install everything that is inside the "Install first" folder? It could help. Regrettably, we did not test the game on Windows XP... And 32 bits.
Hi Demy, "Versus" is an online-only game, there should be at least two players with the game open at the same time to start a match.
If you have a friend who can start the game simultaneously with you, challenge him/her, it's actually fun!
OS X version should work. If you get the menu and can press "Play", it works :)
You just need another player who will press "Play" on his side. So, if you are all alone in the world who wants to play "Versus" at the current moment (and we don't have /that/ many players), you are out of luck. Find a friend and try again or drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll set up a match just for you!
Just played 3 nice matches at 17:15-17 GMT. Thanks for playing, wish we had an in-game chat...
@Appocket
Thanks, we again tried to get a 'complete' game, and lots of stuff that we planned didn't get into it.
@RHY3756547
@Mach60KAS
Thanks!
Yes, there is that problem with matches getting too long because of the powerups, but often they end very soon - max damage of the well-placed hit is 25HP, so 5 straight hits kill unarmored monster.
Music and more sounds - wish we had a few more hours to add them!
@Valeour
We'll be playing online pretty soon, watch the counter ;)
Also, we can play at any (well, quite often) given time if you drop us a line at [email protected]
Cooool! :)
Fantastic artwork - it has that great retro feel of the indie games of the 90s made with simple 3d editors - without textures with low poly counts!
Squashing sound is great.
Humor - 5 stars, and you get it only in the end.
Concept could have been even more fun with a time counter as a way to measure efficiency and maybe ways to go faster versus making precise turns.
I spent about five minutes running left and right and thought the game was broken. Then (and thanks to everyone who commented about platforms) I understood how to activate platforms!
Very good idea. Great sound fx. Will definitely try to finish the game later.
Played on OS X. Game looks simple, but is perfectly playable and I played it through with pleasure.
The best thing about this game is it is actually fun to play! Simple ingredients mixed into a great cocktail!
Unusual concept!
Gameplay is good! Very good!
Game becomes a little bit slow when lots of particles are on screen, but otherwise it's technically and artistically great!
Unusual :)
Great concept, and gameplay is varied and fun. A bit slow on OS X (because of Flash?), and collision detection isn't perfect.
Good game
I liked sounds a lot. Monsters hunting for treasure were a nice touch, it made the game feel more real, complete.
This game is pretty difficult, fast-paced and fun.
Good entry!
Had serious problems with controls.
Music/sounds are great.
Game looks nice, but text is unreadable.
Unfinished, but I liked the effects, especially when jumping.
Wow. Just wow. It may be the best game of the Jam. Well, from what I have seen so far, it IS the best game of the Jam.
Platformer. Difficul. Original. Amazing! Final is also great.
I suggest everyone to play it and complete it, watching video is so not enough!
Nice, nice, nice! Managing movement and typing is great. It looks like a great 2 player game where one player is responsible for movement and another for shooti... I mean, typing.
Great jumping animation and knight graphics!
Won't connect to server.
More humour than fun, but a great entry! Singing sounds cool.
Extremely difficult! I like it :)
Hey there :)
Your game is nice!
I'd suggest uploading the gameplay video to youtube or have it separately from the game itself as it makes download significantly bigger.
Also, on game over it would be nice to still see my score.
Great result for a first game!
It reminded me about one of our games - http://tangiblegames.com/christmascats/
I was born in 83, and though I remember using 14k modems on a Performa (what was that chat thing bundled with Claris works called?), I am glad I missed computers shown in this game ;)
Great entry!
Hands are shaking. Cool!
Non-stop action just I like it!
Looks so good! Why is it Windows only? :)
@wintermute Yes, it's a little bit on the hard side... again :) We thought of optimising its difficulty for 5-minute-sessions typical for Ludum Dare voting process (people are trying to rate lots of games, after all), but it's so difficult, because then it will be... easy?!? Victory should be deserved, right? ;)
One tip for people who will want to beat it: use precisely aimed double-jump throws, they are an aoe weapon. As well as various objects, when used on tightly packed groups of aliens.
Great game!
Nice retro feel!
Absolutely stunning visuals, and with original gameplay included! Awesome! Not perfect mechanics with some control issues, but innovative and unique.
Unbelievably cool on its own and especially for a 72 hours Jam entry!
Another marvellous entry! Couldn't put it down until the end. Amazing everything! And everything adds to the atmosphere.
Great game! Great art style! Polished and interesting!
Beautiful!
Love the artwork, moster design and animations.
Great idea for a vehicle! Running air currents is awesome! A little bit more pronounced attack effects (lasers? smaller projectiles?) could make battles easier to understand, and perspective makes it hard to understand, when you get into air current or not (even with that rope or something that is under the vehicle).
Original idea! With some gameplay tweaking (controls are terrible, because pointer position doesn't match with the actual clicking coordinates) it could become much better.
I wish there was less random movement (some auto-targeting on potential victims) or at least more zombies at your disposal as you progress through the game so you could use one in the beginning and another nearer to the end.
Well done! Good puzzle with a story!
Regrettably, it won't run on OS X 10.9, doesn't even bounce in the dock. Maybe it's just my MacBook?
Well well :) This is a gem, albeit a hidden one! Animations/characters are great, these enemy beavers (?) are very funny. Growing mechanics is very nice (not easy to find, but then it works great - including horizontal growth!), and there are lots of other gameplay elements, which was unexpected for me - jumping mushrooms, stone walls.
If nitpicking, some visual feedback of level completion could be nice - currently the game just pauses for a moment.
This game could benefit from some challenge, it's a little bit too easy!
Suspense! Thrill! Aliens!
Funny game!
Great entry! Multiplayer games may attract less players in LD, but this one is definitely worth your attention! Gameplay is skill-based with some luck needed, and easy to learn yet challenging. Nice graphics (I liked customisation) and audio. Different level configurations add variety.
It's a complete party game. Well done!
Greetings, fellow developers! We come with peace. Ekaterinburg ftw!
Amazing graphics, music and sounds!
Great cutscene and characters!
Game's window doesn't fit on the screen of MBP 13R completely, though. Understandable as OS X version wasn't tested.
Firing is a bit tiresome, looks like pressing instead of holding is required for better rate of fire or I just imagined that. Enemies are uneven in difficulty as scissors and bars are easy, and red triangle things are easy coming in one row but much more difficult to hit when coming in two rows.
The H.A.N.D. is great! Nice artwork and weapon idea.
Chase was just brilliant!
Couldn't beat the game without hints, but only because I am rating lots of titles and patience is thin.
You made a great game!
Love the art style and gameplay!
Great take on the theme
A little bit on the tough side!
Slicing enemies in half was great.
Wow, an RTS game! Great job!
Alien ducks are evil. Too fast-paced for my taste, but still good.
Absolutely fantastic!
Your idea was great as if our great leader Bob himself came up with an idea for your game!
Broadcasts were funny, both in text and presentation.
Amazing game worthy of the highest praise!
FRUP grows ever greater!
Great story. Could have more interactivity, but this wasn't obviously the goal.
Well, it wasn't exactly a /fun/ game, but I played until I found all the endings!
Audio makes it look more serious than it is :)
Very nice! Perfectly fits the theme ;)
Guessing game titles and dev studios can be difficult ;)
Well made game with everything in its place!
Beautiful!
Will probably be quite easy to play with two people - one responsible for walking, another for attacking :)
Giving cookies to Santa doesn't work. Not sure how your game fits the theme.
Exploring the level is fun, it's not fair that you die on the bottom of the well, cause there is no water and you have a parachute!
Played till the end. Slower later levels were frustrating sometimes, but not that much.
Physics allow for some smooth movements, you can beat levels in one loooong motion.
Music sets the right mood.
Didn't read about restarting levels using R, so had several situations where my character stuck behind color changers.
Great idea and realization!
Elegant entry. Thank you!
Cool, but controls are tough :)
;)
Have to say that controls aren't perfect, I am often pressing jump instead of fire and vice versa.
I liked it :)
Great game! How do you get scores that high though? :)
Gotta practice...
Great Jam entry, guys! Great graphics, immersive gameplay. Thanks!
Making choices is always fun!
Poor dogs and...everyone else.
This game looks big! A real space station sim, I like that!
All post-jam features answer my complaints.
Liked the graphics!
It is a lot like these movies about some underground russian roulette games etc. A real thrill!
Extremely hard to trim beards properly, maybe that was the idea, but I think more precise controls would make the game better.
Still, it was funny while it lasted!
There is space for innovation in pong, after all!
Looks nice!
A bit unrewarding gameplay, because sometimes there is no chance you can catch a drop.
Could be addictive with some polish.
Core gameplay done right, and nothing else matters!
You need permission to download from Dropbox.
A great way to teach non-programmers some binar :)
Great graphics, idea, sound and atmosphere.
Buggy as hell.
Head is difficult to throw and it disappears after the throw, so no retries without restarting the game.
Head doesn't get eaten by the plant, so you never know whether it caught the head or not.
Other than that, great humor, blend of graphics, music, sounds and gameplay could be oh so fun, if you only had some more time!
Good, if not extremely stable, entry!
Java somehow makes my MacBook want to fly, spinning all fans at max. And the game still seems to run a bit slow.
Anyway, the game is hard!
Will try the local multiplayer when I get to the office ;)
Looks fabulous!
