this game has potential. Got stuck in the dark green area at the beginning and sometimes there are some clipping problems
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD31 → The Crown Of The Rectangles

looks so cool, but i'm on a mac so can't play :/
Hi. Makes me think of commandos, but I can't figure out if those games were turn based or not. Great tutorial. I would let the enemies have some sort of momentum so that their movement is less erratic. The entrance area is very small I had a couple of campers that wouldn't let me pass for a while. There doesn't seem to be any 'reward' at the end after taking the crown back, I might have missed it. Unfortunately some of the enemies got stuck in the walls. It wasn't possible to see behind the entrance wall so I got surprised once. The game has a clear goal and clear obstacles to overcome. Add to your description that enter also ends the turn, it makes playing more engaging. Was fun, thanks!
Nice game!
Simple concept, simple game, fun game.
it was fun, I was just lacking some instructions at the start. greetings from a fellow löver ;)
Nice job, definitely worth thinking about giving this some audio love and polish post-LD.
Gosh, this is difficult! In a good way! :)
You should fix your drawing order -> when the guy is too close to the wall, then he's currently drawn under it even though he's infront of it. You could start by a simple "is the player in this area" check and if so, draw him before drawing the wall - otherwise, draw the wall first.
I like how the guards move less when I move less. Gives me more control over the game, if I take my time.
I actually also liked the graphics - it was the reason why I clicked on the image!
Stealth gameplay mechanic is different from what I've seen in other games and pretty innovative!
brilliant idea, well executed and communicated. I appreciate the minimal gui and the art style is simple and handsome like all my favourite game developers. I also appreciate you not letting the guards revert to their less alert state after losing sight of you, that's something that always bothers me in stealth games. 11/10 would steal little yellow rectangle crown again
The game bugged after I had to click at least 30 times on "end turn", waiting for a guard to finally let me in.
