LD26 — Minimalism

Stranded by vico87 2013-04-29T20:31:00

I played, tried to "take Jen" and it crashed :(

DropPix by AtkinsSJ 2013-05-03T17:39:00

I thought it was a bit trivial until level 5, and then it became quite interesting!
Good job :)

Darwinian Monsters by uprightpath 2013-04-30T16:50:00

Quite complicated but very interesting!

Composition with Yellow, Red, and Blue by DaveDobson 2013-05-03T15:50:00

Wonderful and challenging!

VIB by samooJAM 2013-05-10T16:26:00

Very interesting and challenging!

Graviblox by Pickehut 2013-05-03T12:46:00

A nice minimalistic supaplex on steroids!

Twinimalism by TenTonToon 2013-05-05T10:04:00

All this multitasking made my nose bleed :P
The concept is wonderful though!
Good job :)

Minimal Deathmatch by xgeovanni 2013-04-29T13:27:00

I join the words of the wise posters before me :)

Ever Hunting by Thotor 2013-05-10T16:20:00

The game is well made and the scope is impressive, but it became boring too soon for me :(

Insert Name Here by Syawra 2013-05-10T16:07:00

Very good take on the theme!
Have you thought of putting an audio loop of yourself saying: "Ambient music"

Trapped in Minimalism by eShredder 2013-04-30T13:30:00

I really liked it!
Seemed very polished.

Friendship in a Post-Apocalyptic World by marnaouf 2013-05-10T12:39:00

I really liked the idea!
The game seems to be quite balanced as well.

The music though kinda annoyed me...

OIA by Jerre 2013-04-30T15:38:00

Was challenging and fun!

Space Jellyfish by [-BipolarDesign+] 2013-04-30T14:31:00

Wonderful game with a good background music!

U by KEFIR 2013-05-10T12:45:00

Truly Wonderful!
I really liked the "blood" effects and the music.
The maniac challenge was amusing as well :)

Good job!

Pix by Holofire 2013-04-29T14:01:00

Very challenging and addicting!

Block Runner by Flai 2013-04-30T14:42:00

I died way too many times, and it crashes too much, but all in all it seems quite good!

+1 for level editor!

Pota-do by Yngar 2013-04-30T13:54:00

20 points for advanced combat :)

50 years by echa 2013-05-03T17:33:00

Became much better after looking in the code and understanding what buildings are available and what they're doing...

Kipple by rxi 2013-05-20T09:17:00

Looked quite polished to me and the music was quite good!
The random generation is nifty as well :)

BE A CUBE by AnnynN 2013-05-03T11:56:00

The music was really wonderful!

What is a Gravity? by rejooh 2013-05-10T13:50:00

Very original and fun!

Note that in later levels it seems like it's too much luck dependent what hits what and when, so you're the first "juggernaut" around.

Atmo by Sab 2013-04-30T17:41:00

It's a very nice game!

Chomp Colors by Gravity Games 2013-04-30T14:59:00

It's actually a really nice game, sound's a must in platformers, so I would've wanted to hear 1 bit music/effects

Trial and Error by Stiju 2013-04-30T11:27:00

Really absolutely awesome!

Minimalism by Kwrky 2013-05-03T13:04:00

Very challenging and fun!

Way of the cuburai by comrad_gremlin 2013-04-30T18:04:00

Quite nice! note that if you up the max health, the hearts mix with the sun. Giving the sprite a black edge will solve this easily.

Inverted by karlin 2013-04-29T10:41:00

The crouching animation was incredibly cute :D
All in all it's a wonderful little game!

beTween by Benn 2013-05-12T00:36:00

Thanks for the game, it is absolutely wonderful!

Music with the sky by pinion 2013-04-30T15:23:00

A nice little game :)

Dragon Drop by Tom 7 2013-05-20T08:36:00

Well done!

Escape the Minimalism by klianc09 2013-04-30T12:18:00

Wonderful game!
Challenging and addicting!

In the dark by jontturi 2013-05-10T13:59:00

The mood and graphics are wonderful!

Choose Defense (TD) by fogelvisch 2013-04-30T15:07:00

I had a bug on the 2nd level and couldn't place any more towers :(

BONSAI by NeuronFire 2013-04-30T17:01:00

I'm not sure clicking all the pixels on a screen is considered game-ish...
It's very pretty but I couldn't see any strategy or point.

Piet Mondrian: Minimal Techno Dance Simulator by erdos 2013-05-03T11:52:00

Ridiculously awesome, this Mondrian dude can pull some moves :D

Life/Routine by lightnarcissus 2013-05-16T12:00:00

It's awesome having cool abstract entries like yours and not only "get your square to the end" entries.
Very original and thought provoking.
Well done! :)

Between the lines by martijn 2013-04-29T10:30:00

Very nice game!
Level design was wonderful except the jumping/climbing bits.
They're less of a puzzle and more of a chore.

AlterSpace by guestcheap 2013-05-03T11:11:00

Absolutely wonderful game idea, I especially liked leap of faith :)

Labeled Minimalism by Gas 2013-05-11T14:50:00

It's a solid game gameplay-wise but the lack of sound really hurts this genre.

RGBCMY by ericlass 2013-05-03T15:24:00

A very nice idea :)

Minimalistic Maze by RabbitRobot 2013-04-30T11:40:00

Well, you have finished something that is functioning, and winnable.
It's much more than many who didn't, and it means you have good time planning. If you'd spare more time next compo , I'm certain you entry'll improve significantly!

The Time Saver by HELLO23 2013-04-29T11:19:00

It seems like a cool game, but same as poohshoes, the controls response was sluggish.

The music repetition kinda drove me crazy after a bit :)

Dodge by Copix 2013-04-30T19:35:00

Very cute :)

I don't wanna be an @ by ashdnazg 2013-04-29T18:41:00

@Everybody Mentioning controls:
I should have written it clearer. One press of any key and your character starts moving in that direction (same as snake). you should not hold the key down!
If the same key is pressed again, you stop. If another key is pressed you start going in that direction.

I'll add this to the description.
I'm aware this type of controlling is bad. Unfortunately it's the best thing I'm able to implement, and even though I tried quite a lot, I couldn't circumvent this. :(

@Everybody mentioning batch:
Many thanks! However, you should think what you are actually saying when you post that :)
The sad part is I kinda agree :)

@Pickehut:
I know the quit and restart part sucks, I'm not sure if I could make some in-game restart option, and if it'd save time at all. I suppose I should have tried to implement this.

I don't wanna be an @ by ashdnazg 2013-04-30T12:20:00

@cahman: It's an illusion, there are also many guys going to the right, but since you're at the same speed (and since you're gonna die) you'll never reach them. :)

I don't wanna be an @ by ashdnazg 2013-05-03T13:07:00

My appologies :( As weird as it sounds, the game actually requires a high-end CPU...

I don't wanna be an @ by ashdnazg 2013-05-05T09:05:00

@TenTonToon: And that's without exaggerating!

btw, gameplay-wise, it is usually better to bypass the stickguy, as you waste more time (and are more evil) if you beat it to death.

@Everybody: Thanks! I'm considering writing a post describing how the game works under the hood. It might be of interest to some.

I don't wanna be an @ by ashdnazg 2013-05-19T09:30:00

Many thanks!

Time of Wheels by Doccrazy 2013-04-29T11:57:00

A cute little game!
I want more :)

A THE GAME FOR MS-DOS by Branch 2013-04-30T14:54:00

I really tried to play this.
No idea why.

Game of Tao by flyingrobot 2013-04-29T12:40:00

It seems very original and unique but I couldn't develop a good strategy, I found myself pressing tab almost randomly :(
I'm probably getting old...

IAO by Rafael Sales 2013-05-03T18:13:00

A very cool concept!

Minimalist RTS by aaron9000 2013-05-11T14:43:00

A nice game that fits the theme very well, though I didn't find it very challenging.

Garm by Lizzip 2013-04-29T12:14:00

After a 120 seconds or so I ate all the food, and there was nothing left to interact with. The timer said I have 100 seconds to wait, so I just quit :S

Ping by Cybearg 2013-04-30T14:04:00

It's an absolutely wonderful game mechanic!

Karate Alien Color Attack by papazoot 2013-04-29T11:02:00

I really liked it!
The "fuel" changing the screen colour gave it a nice atmosphere. Even more so with the black blocks - it's awesome that playing badly makes the screen go darker.

One thing bothered me though, the ship seems inconsistent with the art style of the blocks...

Oh and I loved the about page :D

The Paper Concord by zanzindorf 2013-04-29T12:26:00

Absolutely magnificent looking, and having everything made out of paper creates a very unique atmosphere.
The controls were sometimes ok and sometimes the plane just stopped for no apparent reason, which was kinda weird...

Towers of Rage by robotality 2013-04-30T11:05:00

The game looks, sounds and feels awesome, but it lacks challenge.

My Hair Is On Fire by Ofursnati 2013-04-30T15:15:00

You deserve a medal!

Bread by lecorbak 2013-05-15T12:17:00

Nice little game!
The effects when charging the combo were kinda neat :)

Angry Reviewer by vgcharlienash 2013-04-30T12:00:00

Yay! I'm not the only one who wrote a game in batch!

Ellipse Madness by shaircast 2013-04-29T07:26:00

A nice exercise for the eye muscles :)
Awesome!

PaperFlick! by DdlyHeadshot 2013-05-10T13:39:00

You certainly nailed minimalism!

min-bit by rbrolley 2013-05-15T12:22:00

A bit too hard, but gameplay is solid!

Catchem by raverdave2002 2013-05-15T12:08:00

Just as previous comments, it felt more luck dependent than skill dependent :(

[My little game][+ or -] by Toinane 2013-05-03T09:21:00

Keep on batchin' mate :)
You're the third batch game I've seen in this compo (including mine)! Makes me wonder how many are there that I haven't found yet...

Broken Sat-Nav, 3:12AM, 3013 by df2013 2013-05-11T14:57:00

Nice game :)

A trial by blood and fire by nilstastic 2013-05-10T13:06:00

Nice, simple and challenging!
Well done :)

Platform Jumper by attagcatc 2013-05-19T01:24:00

I can barely imagine how to begin thinking of considering doing something as awesome as that.

Your work is truly inspiring!

(And I thought I was hardcore writing a game in batch!)

Right Side of the Road by ethankennerly 2013-05-05T10:12:00

This is just plain awesome!

Or should I say splendid?

Particles by Covenant 2013-05-04T10:34:00

A challenging and spectacular concept!

Path Breaker by kyru 2013-04-30T14:48:00

I really liked your game idea!

Infinity Dungeon by Yakyb 2013-04-30T17:26:00

A minimalistic game needs gameplay, just as a minimalistic painting needs paint and a canvas. Your entry might be good at what it does, but it's more of a video than a game.

Mr Potato assembly-line by nSun 2013-04-30T15:19:00

Wonderful game! made me laugh :)

Controlled State by GameNacho 2013-05-04T15:46:00

A neat and special game!
Good job :)

Quick Copy by koller-digital 2013-04-30T14:24:00

I was entirely horrible (there's a reason why I used ASCII art for my game :D ) but it's a very clever idea!

Screaming Cubes by Shigor 2013-05-10T12:23:00

Overall it is a well made and fun game!
However, the bullets seemed a bit slow, and I'm not entirely sure where's the minimalism.

Space Captant by Norgg 2013-05-05T09:36:00

Even though the game could help me a bit more by explaining what I can do, it's extremely original and quite fun!

esfiera by jukimv1986 2013-04-30T18:53:00

I'm not really sure if this is a game, but it's definitely cool!

Saishou Sentou by Joshua Douglass-Molloy 2013-04-30T17:19:00

It crashed after I finished the third level :(
Other than that, It's a really cool entry!

The Prospector by Steven Colling 2013-05-11T15:11:00

The game feels very "polished"!
I also really liked the music.

The Minimisealist by monkeymad2 2013-04-30T15:01:00

The generated text made me laugh quite a bit :)
Good job!

Line Game by elektron 2013-04-29T14:50:00

Wonderful game, but way too fast for me...

Recrudescence by PerilousPete 2013-05-04T10:47:00

A bit too challenging for me, but it's obviously well thought and made!

Stickman vs the leap of faith by brus46 2013-05-15T11:56:00

I suppose I should tone down my faith...
Nice game!

Nuke America! by Nightfall Studios 2013-05-15T12:00:00

Well, without sound it feels a bit weird...

SIMPLE by Nilmrots 2013-05-10T13:23:00

The game is very nice (especially the minimalism concept), although it didn't feel very challenging.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

You Have to Dye by Dialock 2013-08-29T13:58:00

Wonderful name, and a solid game.

The music drove me nuts though

GLITCH by TravisChen 2013-08-27T09:52:00

I haven't finished it, but I can already say it's pure madness (that's good!).

Detective Awesomepants by xel 2013-09-06T13:51:00

Conan Doyle is rolling in his grave...

Anyway, I enjoyed this game, and the cases were good.
However, I kinda can't stand auto-tracker anymore.

Forest Edge by lordjosephdeburg 2013-08-30T17:42:00

The sprites are really pretty, but gameplay lacks a bit.

Up-Run by garygreen 2013-08-30T16:03:00

It's a cute game with a fine idea behind!

Arson Investigator by Josh Riley 2013-08-30T15:13:00

That's one of the most original games I've seen this compo! Well done :)

The Value of Time by infernet89 2013-08-26T12:47:00

Quite cool!

Boxer's Seconds by madk 2013-08-30T16:22:00

I'm extremely sorry for not actually playing this game.
It's so well made that I'd have to either:
1) Make a zillion spreadsheets
2) Program a solver :)
Both would be a bit overkill...

Seriously, this is one original entry!

Balloon Rescue by andreyin 2013-08-30T16:59:00

Quite fun and challenging!

Don't sink by Doctor Broccoli 2013-08-29T14:58:00

Quite original and very pretty!

Solitude by rxi 2013-08-29T19:08:00

The overall style of this game is bound well together.
The music, graphics and lighting fit to really nail the "Mood" aspect which is absent in too many games.

Well done!

Guest House by cardboard 2013-08-26T22:22:00

The atmosphere is well created with the clay and the music (even the teddy bear fits in perfectly). Good job!

Speedungeon by Xaychru 2013-08-26T14:09:00

The bomb is just so awesome!

10Sec Switch by Arrow-x 2013-08-30T17:54:00

Very impressive for first entry!

Ludum Defense by Kwrky 2013-08-30T15:31:00

I won't repeat what everyone else said :)
Well done, it's a cute game!

Saloon Shoot Out by alycarter 2013-08-29T15:22:00

It's nice game! Could really use some sound though...

Four Bombs by Clavus 2013-08-26T12:16:00

2.344 :D
This was wondeful!

In The Ocean Blue by Tyu 2013-08-26T11:31:00

Very nice graphics,
But the gameplay mechanic felt a bit too slow for me.

Hungry Fishers Dream Team by TijmenTio 2013-08-29T12:11:00

It's a very interesting game mechanic, although I'm not sure I handled it very well :)

Shuutshimi by awppy 2013-08-29T18:15:00

Party vision!
Cool game, very good music :)

Ab Solanum by doonay21 2013-08-30T18:15:00

A bit hard, but a very fine use of the theme!

Space Blitz by Mekuri 2013-08-26T11:37:00

Quite nice, I enjoyed that :)
Good music.

Goat Tower by klianc09 2013-08-29T12:45:00

Now that I've had the opportunity of being a goat I can die in peace. :D

10 10 Second Game Design Lessons by douglasv 2013-09-06T13:56:00

Other than the compo-jam issue this non-game game is quite amusing. I laughed out loud at the menu :)

Blind Feed by mackthehobbit 2013-08-26T12:16:00

The game is nice and the idea is very good, but 10 seconds is quite a lot for such a small playing space. (I didn't feel like I need to conserve)

Streaker 2013 by ashdnazg 2013-08-26T10:03:00

Thanks everybody for the kind words!

@Josh: You have no idea how much I laughed during the development :D

Streaker 2013 by ashdnazg 2013-08-26T22:52:00

@Everybody: Thank you!

Following the suggestions I've added a version that restarts instead of quitting. Have fun!

Streaker 2013 by ashdnazg 2013-08-30T16:10:00

@Jupiter_Something: Thanks! though you didn't sound too enthusiastic on the video ;)

@mutilator: Please abide your local laws regarding indecent exposure.

@Arrow-x: Quite the opposite! I made this simulator so I don't have to do this in real life. :D

Streaker 2013 by ashdnazg 2013-09-11T20:36:00

@SanguineTheSecond: Yeah, I'm not too satisfied with it either, but considering I had to record all these tracks, it could probably be far worse :P

@hbocao: If you aren't caught after 10 seconds it's quite probable that no one is chasing you, so the game isn't very interesting anymore... (and I'm not going to implement spawning any time soon)

@Everybody: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)

Streaker 2013 by ashdnazg 2013-09-12T20:01:00

@T1: Thanks for taking the time to write this comment!

About the diagonal running speed, it was my first attempt at doing isometric graphics, so movement wasn't handled correctly. :(
It won't be fixed in this game, but I've certainly learned something for next time!

Ten Zero-Zero by Tigro 2013-08-30T18:12:00

The sound was definitely interesting!

Forever Alone by ShellfishGames 2013-08-30T16:53:00

This game way too entertaining :D
I have no idea who'd live in such a dangerous neighbourhood with all them pianos/zombies/reckless drivers.

And you said my game was funny, pfft!

MadMarkt by methamphetabear 2013-08-26T15:50:00

Awesome in so many ways!

I really like games that give you vertigo :)

10 Second Hero by Diogo Muller 2013-08-30T15:55:00

It's a frantic game with cool music!

Ten Second Dungeon by Jimanzium 2013-08-26T11:10:00

Very nice and challenging!
A bit weird that if you kill someone and go to the next room, the potion (I think) teleports there.

The Necromancer by sam1373 2013-08-26T11:50:00

Very nice game mechanic :)

10 Seconds to Earth by EmptyFlash 2013-08-30T17:11:00

This damn lightning! I was doing so well with the flamethrower...

Ten Seconds (Needed to Pass Legislation) by Dr_V 2013-09-06T14:33:00

A good challenging game mechanic!

Good mini games, but one or two took me a few tries to understand what I'm supposed to do.

Black & White & Time by NachoDA 2013-09-06T12:46:00

The police->ambulance->tank was quite amusing.

The background sound is slightly annoying though...

Mashals of Knaveland by Jorqell 2013-08-26T15:32:00

Amusing :D

Happy Edii by HoWseR 2013-08-26T12:17:00

Very cute graphics and sound!

Mechanic wise it's a platformer with a timer.

Don't let Them Hug you! by Jicken 2013-08-30T15:17:00

Never felt so popular my entire life!

10 Seconds of Power by J.Barrows 2013-08-29T20:30:00

It's very nice, but I really felt the lack of any message when you lose.

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-08-26T12:16:00

Good music and frantic gameplay, I like that!

10 by caluca22 2013-08-26T14:09:00

A cool game, but way too hard for me :)

Withdrawal Syndrome by Supernaught 2013-08-30T14:59:00

I really liked the graphic style!

Muovt!!! by superfrog 2013-08-30T14:08:00

Quite a nice game!
The gravity felt a bit too weak though.

Final Glow by Yword 2013-08-26T14:09:00

Not too difficult, and with a very nice atmosphere!

Music is a bit repetitive though.

Knights of the Dorm requires LOVE by Gloamglozer 2013-08-29T19:24:00

Well done :)

I think the game could be a bit harder.
Maybe by escalating the number of items?

Coin Collecter by nitrocrime 2013-08-26T11:23:00

It's a nice idea, but waving my hand horizontally from side to side is too repetitive for me.
Some sort of blip when you collect a coin could really improve the game.

Nice music though!

Keep Flying by bushmango 2013-09-06T13:26:00

A bit hard to understand what's wrong and how to fix it.

Other than that it's a good and amusing game! The background song is very good, but might be less so after playing more than I did.

It's amazing to see where cats can find themselves if left without supervision.

As others have said, the sounds deserve a special commendation.

Star Rover by FacticiusVir 2013-08-29T13:35:00

It's well executed, but I didn't find it too challenging.
It's felt mostly luck dependent.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Digging up Daisy by Cake&Code 2014-04-29T00:31:00

Overall it's a fine game, and I was surprisingly eager to find my daisy :D

Some points I can think of:
The gradual introduction of mechanics is wonderful!
A minor nitpick, in the beginning before fuel was introduced, I was wondering "What's the point, I can just dig the whole thing...". It might have been good to make sure the player knows it's still not the game!

I really like your graphic style, it suits the game well.

The music could use some improvement. A practical tip might be to keep it less "crowded"?.

I might have missed something, but I couldn't see any reason not to keep the forward button down.

Good job!

The Sea Has No Claim by dukope 2014-04-29T00:59:00

You have made a very interesting entry!
The main mechanic is quite original and cool, although in the first or second levels, it seems to rely too much on luck.

Everything I wanted to give as points for improvement, was fixed in the post compo version, so I suppose you already know :)

Well done!

Lim by Rabbits... 2014-05-16T22:40:00

I'm really fond of limericks and rhyming, so good job!
Your game is a good jumping platformer although it doesn't have exceptionally interesting puzzles. In my opinion the mood that's created by the ominous sprites and darkness together with the existential questions of the limericks don't mix well with the jumping on platforms.
You should work a bit on your composing, a better track could have improved the mood department. (The current track needs some improvement)

I think that existential questions and jumping on platforms don't go too well hand in hand. you might want to focus on one of them in your next games. (I hope it's the questions, you have quite the talent there)

Ground control to major Tomashevsky by drnick 2014-04-29T23:10:00

First of all it's a decent platformer with a nice feel and Russian vibe which is always good.
Every part of graphics was great on it's own but some didn't fit too well together. In my opinion it's better to have lower quality of graphics on specific parts of the game, if it means the overall graphics is more uniform.

The worm puzzle took me a few tries until I figured it out and was very good!

Music could add quite a lot, if you could compose something that would even sound semi-Russian, the game would have benefited enormously.

Well done!

Tell Me About Your Childhood As A Nervous Goldfish by garygreen 2014-04-29T20:31:00

I think I owe the psychiatrist a kidney or two...
I liked the music, and the goldfish was also really cute.
The general premise is wacky, and I like that :)

The intro though, should be skippable (It might be that I just haven't found how) and the bouncing captions made me really dizzy, I believe text should be easily readable.

Ben Eath the Surf Ace by goerp 2014-04-29T01:56:00

Let me start by saying you've done an amazing soundtrack!

Your graphics are decent, consistent, and suit the humorous vibe of the game.

Mechanics-wise it's not the most original game in the competition, but I suppose that wasn't your intention ;)

Good job!

Let the Tree Live by lullul 2014-04-29T19:15:00

Congrats for making your first solo game!
The main mechanic is very original, although frantic clicking isn't exactly my cup of tea :)
As stated by mandrake, in this kind of game, music is a must.

Fragment by rxi 2014-05-16T21:22:00

Starting the game, I had no idea what's going on.
I was stressed, the audio and heartbeats didn't help much either. Oh, there's a wall of text here! hmmm, now I'm not only stressed but also puzzled and afraid, where is this wall of text going, what am I doing? Why is everything red? time's up.

Let's try again.
Still no idea what's going on.
Ok, so the paragraphs appear close to each other so you can actually read them semi-consistently. Still no idea what it is about but I feel the helplessness well.

If games are considered a work of art that tries to incite emotion in the audience, yours is a great success, the combination of audio, wording and general atmosphere makes it a unique experience.
If games are seen as entertainment, or things that attempt to amuse, it's clear that yours doesn't even try.

Thanks for making this, it was interesting!

Scout by cardboard 2014-05-16T22:22:00

Your graphic style and concept are wonderful and the music is breathtaking. I'm pretty sure the puzzles and game are well thought, but I'm afraid I didn't feel I know what's going on (perhaps that's how a bunnies live?)
Moving between the views, it was hard for me to understand what my surrounding look like, and once I kinda understood where I am, and who's around me (he ivet!) it seems I clicked the right (???) place and moved somewhere else entirely.
I think I understood the pushing things puzzle, but couldn't guess it will cause a stairway to drop from above.

All in all, it seems the game is well made but there's a lot behind it that just went over my head. Making it a bit more friendly to a halfwit like me could have improved my experience.

Good job!

Dany's Room by Alexandre Szybiak 2014-04-29T20:22:00

This entry made me sad... (which is good!)
The audio and graphic style build the mood of the game quite well!

Gameplay is obviously quite limited and I'd love to see what you can add to that.

Well done!

Juno's Garden by Dining Philosopher 2014-05-16T23:00:00

Asteroids with names? Goats? Sunflowers? I like that!
While the gameplay was confusing (walls of text don't help much) I understood enough of what's going on to win, so I suppose it's alright.
Graphic style works well, and effects+voice acting are excellent. Music could do wonders in this entry!
For your next game, keep the wackiness but try to convey the gameplay better! Maybe by showing and not by telling.

Good job!

Leak by ashdnazg 2014-04-30T21:07:00

If I understood you correctly, It's not a console game, it requires SDL2, so it should be compilable on OSX.

Leak by ashdnazg 2014-05-16T23:28:00

Thanks for playing and giving feedback, it seems I have made a complicated game with too little help for the player to understand what's going on. Well, you learn from your mistakes!

Beam Islands by mjau 2014-05-16T22:13:00

Seeing your lovely comments I had to give you a detailed one, so here:

I played your game twice, the first time I didn't know it's an LD game (you might want it to be written somewhere in future games).
It appears I skimmed the controls part, so I didn't see the undo and restart buttons (I did figure out that r is restart). Either blame me as a rash player, or have it in small letters on the screen.

Levels 1&2: The introduction of mechanics one by one is excellent!
I did not understand what dangerous means at first (to me? aren't they covered?) but the design of the second level forces you to witness the meaning which is good.

Level 3: Same as before, good introduction of the merge mechanic, with one nitpick. I didn't understand at first that it merges all adjacent parts on the map. I've found out later the hard way

Level 4&5: Easy overall.
Level 6: Lot's of moving, but not too hard
Level 7: At first it seemed easy, but then it took some thinking, a good level!
Level 8: The bloody +'s. I haven't managed to finish it the first time, but did on the second. To be honest, I really feared there might be another level, but seeing as this one was the last, its difficulty is appropriate.

Your graphic style is nice and works well with your game, the 'waves' are quite natural looking too.
Audio effects are alright, and I'd really have loved to hear some music with them.

Very good puzzle concept and design, well done!

Deep South Motel by iossif 2014-04-29T19:49:00

It's a very nice idea for a game trying to think and balance between the different options. My best attempt reached 1700, when I had 3 (total) cleaners, 4 rooms and no laundry.

The timers everywhere are excellent as they put all needed information on the screen!

The audio loop got tedious after a bit, and it's quite a long time until the high scores.

Good job :)

Dr. Pepsi Marriage Consultant by Thingo Studios 2014-04-29T21:18:00

You're basically bonkers!
It's cool that you haven't let anything stop you from making a game about what you want. No intro? I'll put a text file. No art? I'll draw on paper! That's a good state of mind for anything.

Basically everything except the wackiness could use improvement :P I'm eager to see what you do next LD!

OMAGAD BIRDS ! by billos 2014-05-16T23:16:00

After running it the third time I've managed to run away from one bird.
So I added another.
Still ok.
Was eaten by the 4th.
Be proud that you have made your first game, and know that you have a long way in front of you (which is good)
Being dropped straight to a game where something is after you is confusing. If this game takes a long time to load and you have to close&start every time you lose, the first 2 seconds after you started... I think you see where I am going.
While the concept is good, I couldn't understand the bird movement, sometimes they'd just randomly move in the bottom row with barely a way for me to run. A bit more structure in their movement could help the player a lot.

I'd like to see what you come up with next LD!

Shark Feast by carrier_signal 2014-04-29T19:31:00

Congrats for making you first game!
The gameplay isn't too original, and there is some room for improvement challenge wise, but what really makes this game is the wonderful audio and your graphics style that make playing quite enjoyable!

Well done :)

MANIFOLD by microwerx 2014-04-29T21:27:00

The audio, both music and sound effects, is very good, and I liked the intro with the bible quote!

Graphics are alright, but gameplay is a tad pointless since you can't lose. You'd probably want to invest more time in that department in the next LD.

If it interests you, I hit a bug where you got stuck near a corner and couldn't move.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Ordinary Weekdays of Tech Support of Parallel Worlds by SaintHeiser 2014-08-25T15:54:00

First of all this game is very polished and has consistent art and sound.
Your usage of the theme is good, and the constant choice of where to be is a nice gameplay mechanic.
Reading the wall of text up here gave me no clue what to do, so I was relieved to see the in-game help and instructions are much clearer!

On the other hand, the game is a bit on the hard and complicated side even on the lower levels (although it might be due to the fact I suck)

Well done!

Convergence by Pheonise 2014-08-25T21:00:00

The first thing you encounter in this game is also its best strength - the voice acting.
It's really superb and gives the game a great feel!
The graphics are mostly minimalistic which is good, as it fits right in with the afore mentioned vibe.

Gameplay itself lacks a bit, as it is a bit linear and short, although the main mechanic could have been used for more complex levels with the appropriate amount of time. Think of focusing on that part more in next LDs.

Overall a very solid entry! Good job!

Ferryman by ashdnazg 2014-08-25T19:47:00

Thanks all!
The score is basically your remaining gold with some deductions for lost souls (people who got their boat destroyed).

It seems I should have said so ingame...

Universal Charger by NickMakesGames 2014-08-25T18:47:00

A very nice game, although slightly complicated.
I like your art style and the cool interpretation of the theme!

Controls felt a bit unintuitive.
I also encountered a crash with the following message:

Virtuoso by Doubstract 2014-08-25T20:45:00

An amusing little game!
I forgot about the mafia halfway through so I didn't have enough money (but had a gun...)

Nice music and funny events! For some reason I think the broken English added to the charm.

As to "type this" games, they're not too sophisticated and I'm not too fond of this mechanic.

Troika - how long will you cooperate? by Tomker 2014-08-25T16:08:00

I think it's a good game that I had trouble understanding.
The instructions told me about keys, but I had no idea what the game mechanics are (what my goal is, what every option does in terms of gameplay, where I get energy from etc.)

Next time try to add sound, at the very least sound effects. Recording improvised effects doesn't take too much time, is very fun and will do wonders for a game.

Ambassadors Of Ruin by LostTrainDude 2014-08-25T21:47:00

You've managed to create a very interesting solemn vibe to your game with the music (software-generated! impressive!) and graphics.
Moreover the core idea of balancing between outer-trade and production is good and has a lot of potential.

This game isn't complete though, as the economy doesn't exist yet. Might have been better to drop a feature or two and spend time on creating a solid gameplay or even a basic prototype of one.

Super Galactic Trader by JoeDev_net 2014-09-15T22:41:00

Very nice puzzles, had me thinking and calculating (which is good).
Some sound effects and music would have contributed a lot. Just using recorded effects or ones generated by bfxr etc. can improve any silent game!

Mage's Tower by marudziik 2014-09-15T21:51:00

I really enjoyed your entry.
The beginning was well written and your use of the various tools you had like the "line fade in" was very effective.

A thing that was slightly missing in my opinion was some sense of goal inside the game (not just the meta goal of getting achievements).

Good job!

Orbital Expansion by Eniimal 2014-08-25T18:33:00

First the background music is very good and overall the game looks polished.

However, the goal and interface aren't so clear though. For instance, I was confused since I thought button colours have meaning.
Moreover I still have no clue what scientists are for other than gobbling the food supply.

GuBer Taxi by mrspeaker 2014-08-25T22:08:00

It's a well-polished nice little game, with fitting art good sound and great music.

The down side of a simple idea is that it becomes repetitive after a while.
To add a bit more content you could limit fuel in some way (as traditional lunar landers did) or make it cost money. That will make the choice of which fares to take a more interesting one, you might even need to remember where planets are.

Great job!

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Learning to Dance by WetDesertRock 2015-12-15T09:34:00

I enjoyed the music very much and the writing was wonderful!

It was a bit difficult at times knowing when a new line appears, or reading them in weird angles, but other than that the narrative was clear!

St. Orchint's Orphanage by Double Zero One Zero 2015-12-31T18:38:00

A very interesting game.
It's one of those where you're not sure if you really want to play it.
The letters are extremely effective in creating immersion.
Not sure entirely about balance, as I think certain jobs are decisively better than others, though it does make you put them into riskier jobs, causing you to feel like a cold-hearted bastard.
Music definitely fits, but a bit too repetitive to my taste.

One of the more interesting games I've seen in this LD, good job!

SAUROPOD vs THEROPOD by Tijn 2015-12-15T16:28:00

The audio of this game is the best I've heard so far this LD (maybe you just cater to my funny sfx taste).

At first I thought that if I meet an evil Theropod I lose, but then when I was really large I saw a small one and critically kicked its arse.

While graphics are modest, the dinosaurs getting longer (instead of bigger) was pretty amusing :)

A very solid entry, well done!

33 grams by martincohen 2015-12-15T21:31:00

I really liked the flock behaviour which at first I didn't even know existed! After the first and second playthroughs I didn't really understand "what's the big fuss" and then for some reason I looked in the .gif above and went "OH".
Very interesting music as well!

Kasai no Scyne by TheJackiMonster 2015-12-15T00:30:00

Nice job! It was really fun when I got a good streak going -- good sensation of speed. I especially liked the flaming hair animation :)

It wasn't totally clear if I was supposed to avoid the crushing pillars, or just speed-smash through them like a hero....but smashing them was pretty fun.

Asteroid Panic by Finestep 2015-12-15T17:34:00

The time spent on sound effects was worth its weight in gold :)

I didn't immediately know that I need to grab the glowy green bit, but since there was nothing else to do, I happily did.

Harvest by rxi 2015-12-16T13:12:00

I played 5 runs I think:

The first I didn't understand anything and died from thirst or something.

The second I've managed to saw some seeds, died from hunger before anything happened with them

The third & fourth I was putting my fields where it is in your screenshots, that put me in a great position to have all my crops eaten. ded again :(

The fifth I decided to put my field near the water where I can drink without going far. One side effect was alos that I had less fronts to worry about, the other was that pathing got a bit bad and that's what happened:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/204076271/rxi2.png
(usually it was slightly better, that's an all time record of stuck enemies)
Also seen in the picture (day 28) is my agricultural empire (I stocked enough wheat for a famine or two).
Originally I wasn't so far in the corner (as I said, only one front was covered, but I gradually moved there as the game continued).
Seeing that I could continue pretty much indefinitely, I went and killed everything I could find on the screen, saw that I can still defend and eat ok and shut the game down.

Graphics are the classic rxi style we all love.
The sounds are great, could be nice to add a munching sound for when they eat your stuff. At first I thought music was superb, but it got very repetitive by day 12 or something similar (did I mention I got to day 28 yet? that means a month if it's february!).

As to the gameplay itself it's remarkably cool. Having to keep all the stuff huddled together and then frantically throwing lots of wheat into the air searching for your gun are a definite highlight.

As I couldn't really read the text because I was busy surviving (and since it's really spammy), the "day #" caption could be a static score on the screen.

Anyway, marvellous job!

Dystopian Orphan by caryoscelus 2016-01-01T16:33:00

As you said, the game had great potential but scope was apparently too large.
I really liked your art style, I think it may have been better to have the girl drawn in the same style as the rest.

Audio use was very good!

Ascending Roots by TimBeaudet 2015-12-15T21:13:00

Mind blowing amount of content and levels!
Amazing graphics, great music (it only felt repetitive because I was playing the game for so long).

Since the focus here is the puzzles rather than being pixel perfect I think it could be better to prevent watering in places it doesn't do anything.
Also going down trees in narrow places requires some very careful (read: many failed attempts of) moving.

I really enjoyed this!

Carrot Stories by JaviCepa 2015-12-15T12:26:00

Graphics are absolutely breathtaking, sound effects are neat and music is nice although slightly repetitive.

Interface was pretty intuitive but it felt my control over my single rabbit wasn't enough to guarantee the survival of the rest who had a tendency to try and make friends with the foxes :(

A really cool entry!

Flowershop Tale by Geti 2015-12-16T11:48:00

Graphics style is indeed very nice! Music slightly repetitive but effects are cool.

The cat one is especially nasty...

Zen Roots by nopogo 2015-12-15T15:13:00

Great construction of atmosphere, the music, graphic style and gameplay mix together exceptionally well.

I was confused at times because when I press the right arrow, the root actually turns left (from its POV) so that cost me a few games (it may be just me though).
The heavy bloom (I think?) seemed to make the view have very little contrast. While it definitely added to the soothing feeling it made it a bit hard to see.

The way roots grew was really beautiful!
Music and sound effects fit each other well.

Good job!

Voidbound by disdanes 2015-12-15T00:56:00

Lovely graphics and storyboarding. Brought me right back to playing Spore...but I mean that in a good way! The mechanic isn't new, but this is a very pleasant and well-executed take on it. Great work!

I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence or some odd Unity bug, but about 1 minute into the second level my browser locked up.

GeometryTwo by Gornova 2016-01-01T16:47:00

After two games I figured that the best way to play is clicking the two buttons together whenever you shoot.
This made the game significantly easier, and the right click irrelevant.

Good Use of sound effects!

Utter Chaos! by Jacob123 2015-12-16T11:09:00

Anyway, a solid fun game. Only particular nitpick I have is that there's no lives count on the screen.

this is the game by Steve | tacospice 2015-12-15T09:08:00

Just from starting and staring at the menu you're starting to realise this isn't your run-of-the-mill game :)

Music fit the game like a glove!

The first take on Two button controls felt slightly unnecessary, but other than that the nonsensical narrative was great.

Good job!

A Genetic Mess by sprawl 2015-12-15T00:44:00

Cool! Fun idea, and I love the 'monster in a glass box' vibe. The slow pace of generating children was a bit of a hangup -- I wanted to keep running and clicking buttons because that gave me more feedback, faster. Was there a link between the fitness function and the number of points you get?

Also, hilarious quotes after finishing the fitness test.

S.E.N.T.I.N.E.L. by rnlf 2015-12-15T08:57:00

While I had some difficulties hitting the slimes at first, I figured how to position myself to make my shots count fast enough so that was OK.

The shooting sound is very satisfying for some reason, mixes well with the background music too :)

The terminal was incredible!

**SPOILERS**
The moody track kinda betrays the surprise in the end, it's obvious from the start that it's not exactly a happy-shooty kind of game.

Trees - 60 lines of code - 60 minutes time... by Tosic 2016-01-01T16:37:00

Edo Arena by PowerSpark 2015-12-15T01:07:00

Wow! Very nice! Lots of fun. Really fantastic work. Considering the setting (game jam) the balance might benefit from a shift towards shorter play sessions, but other than that I think this is wonderful. Great idea, great execution.

Legendary Legionnaire Massacre 2 by banana4life 2015-12-31T19:14:00

Very neat! graphics are great, and gameplay is solid.
It may have been good to explain the controls in the game.

At first I thought music was pretty cool, and then I hit the song in the end which was not only amusing but very good!

There were some performance issues when moving lots of soldiers around, but other than that, a really impressive game! Good job :)

Shoot Or Don't Shoot by Coomzy 2015-12-15T00:53:00

Cool idea. Tough to play on a laptop, but that's mostly my own fault :) Might be worth adding support for two keyboard buttons as well.

It'd also be cool to get a recognition of the increasing difficulty: maybe a big red countdown timer before "blam blam".

Immortal Growth by Evergreen Games 2015-12-16T11:01:00

I really like the cave drawing style and the main mechanic is pretty cool!
Audio was good, although the music was highly repetitive.

The control itself felt clunky at times when I couldn't grab what I wanted/release it where I wanted.

Flove by SpringCabal 2015-12-15T09:16:00

Brilliant graphics and a great audio!
My finger now looks like the negative of the left mouse button.

I've felt the mana-upgrading-vegetation relation wasn't entirely obvious, and I'm not sure what the green auras did, but that didn't stop me from killing the king and saving our garden!

Wonderful job guys!

Hilbert's Hotel by iapc 2015-12-15T17:22:00

It was hard figuring out how this game works but after a while I think I did (well, I hit someone in the face with a suitcase).
I'd say the puzzle succeeds in being challenging.

Spending even an hour on sound could do this game wonders (while the cat pictures etc. are great, I'd argue sound is more important)

Billy And His Kids by ToloaGames 2015-12-16T16:15:00

Crazy frogs? Frantic clouds? Dead children?
Must be Ludum Dare.

Not a bad entry at all, graphics are amusing, gameplay works although a bit hard. Music is repetitive-ish but effects are great.

At first I didn't entirely understnad what to do and how the game works but after a dead kid or two it becomes much clearer :)

Neo Oxygene by Jwatt 2015-12-15T18:02:00

The game makes a pretty interesting economy and the growing is really cool.
I can't say I'm very fond of the visual style, but the audio is definitely a favourite.

HeXor by Sosolol261 2015-12-15T00:14:00

Mac OSX here: still a broken archive. When running the .love bundle directly using love2d, I get a stacktrace:

Line/Dash by Eingya 2015-12-15T00:23:00

Took me a few rounds of losing to figure out the mechanic, but once I did it was nifty. Very stylish! Need's a pumping electro soundtrack to match the theme :)

The Fastest Trigger In The West by Folztarg 2015-12-31T18:56:00

The game is very polished although I can't say I enjoyed the reaction time mechanic much (perhaps I'm just too slow :D)

Music is seriously impressive!

SpaceHex by Sheepolution 2015-12-16T13:45:00

With careful planning I've managed to beat the game on my third try.
I like the "Here, have lots of interesting tools and very few rules, now let's see you deal with it" approach!

The room graphics are amazing, cute animations and all.

Music wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but it did work well with the game so I can't complain.

Good job!

Klangwelt by retraffic 2015-12-15T15:00:00

This is incredible!
As a musically oriented person this was fun to experiment with and the fact that the graphics were eye-pleasing as well is truly impressive.

A thing I might add is some encouraging of less musically inclined users to use the "right" notes in the "right" places.

Island Defence by Epicruins195 2015-12-15T12:06:00

This is an interesting game, requires more thought than it seems at first.
I messed up (more than once...) by losing my life income :D
Your graphic style looks great!

Sound effects and music were really missing, it's best to leave an hour or two for hacking something (anything) in (such as recording silly sfx with a crappy microphone) even at the cost of leaving other stuff out.

The More You Arm by Bamboy 2015-12-16T15:32:00

The graphics and vibe were very amusing but the game got repetitive relatively quickly.

Audio could make it exponentially better. Recording yourself saying "omnomnom" when you munch a ball and playing a random sound effect from http://www.bfxr.net/ when you grab it doesn't take very long.

Ball Street Journal by modenv 2015-12-15T14:36:00

I got an error the folder "Ball Street Journal_data" wasn't found (windows) but after renaming, everything worked ok.

The game is a nice take on the fish in the sea game, graphics are great but appear to be kinda half-done? (lots of white)

Music & Audio were great!
Movement felt fun but collision detection was a bit weird.

Grow Big and Go Home by MikeTsunami 2015-12-15T00:11:00

Great little game! Took a few tries to learn timings, and cursed a bit when I died before climbing the tree :)

Fluffy Horde by publicidadeba 2015-12-20T23:38:00

The first thing I noticed is the spectacular graphics, I really enjoyed your style!
The story was very amusing (great voice actor!) although I think it would've been better to tweak it so it's a tutorial. Mostly since when playing I didn't entirely understand what to do and what happens (What my goals are, when I lose etc.). I had to learn by losing.

Music was good and fit the atmosphere well.

A cool polished entry, good job!

Worm Massacre by shiny 2015-12-15T11:00:00

It took me a bit to figure what was going on and what I should do, but once I did it started to be quite fun :)

Music was nice although slightly repetitive.

Shaving Day : The Shave After Tomorrow by gloim 2015-12-15T12:40:00

OhMyGod 21915 O.o

The cheerful music fit this game like a glove, the only reason it was repetitive was because I was playing for longer than I should have :D

I really liked the eyes following the machine!

At first when playing I was like: "With my frantic hand movement, no wonder he has no eyebrows" but then the game showed me how wrong I was :)

Definitely needs more content but the base is rock-solid, good job!

Stargazer by NuclearCellar 2015-12-15T10:45:00

I really liked your artistic style, together with the writing it created a very interesting atmosphere.

Music (even very silent) could add to this a lot!
I've found the walking sound kinda obnoxious :S

Good job!

War... by Lapiroxx 2016-01-01T11:48:00

I was very confused in this game (still not sure if I was playing the right side or the left one).
While the mood etc. is really unique, I feel there could be more feedback to the player as to how their choices affect the game.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Abyssal Dream by esayitch 2016-05-09T14:59:00

As mentioned before this was a tad bit hard :D
I really liked the graphics - the little movements of the main character (breathing, the legs swinging during jump) made a black blob feel very much alive!

Behatzlaha to you too! :)

Facade by euske 2016-05-09T14:33:00

Finally got to give this game a good play!
As a person who's not very fond of platformers, I was happily surprised by this game. The challenge was based on thinking (how can I get these NPCs to hurt each other instead of me?) rather than execution (I didn't jump from the right pixel).
I really enjoyed the music (gj on making a special one for the boss!).
Greetings were also amusing.
Anyway, great job :)

Tommy is the Shapeshifter by ashdnazg 2016-05-10T01:56:00

@all: Thanks! glad you've liked it :)

Doodle Book Survival by CarlsonAndPeeters 2016-05-03T10:17:00

The animations and drawings were magnificent, as was the end screen (See Me :D).
Music was nice although there was a balance issue between the sound effects and the music volumes.

Turbo/Glide by rnlf 2016-04-19T20:26:00

This game is not addictive at all, I can stop trying to break your records whenever I want.

For now I choose to keep playing.

(rest of the feedback was transmitted through the IRC channel)

The Dark Room by Laralyn 2016-05-09T17:07:00

Great writing, the bits in the start were brilliantly setting the tone of the entire read, complemented by the music.

I think I would've wanted a bit more interactivity.

Casual Shapeshifting by M2tias 2016-05-09T16:08:00

Less casual than I thought!
It took me some time to figure where I'm wrong (which is good!) and even then there was more thinking to figure how to succeed (which is even better!).
My only beef with this game is how all organs kinda clump together in the middle, which causes some misclicks.

Werewolves in Shibsington by Nanolotl 2016-05-03T11:23:00

One of the more interesting entries I've seen so far!

The main idea is cool and graphics are silly and well fitting.
I think that this game could really benefit from music - improving the immersion and the contrast between a cheerful day and a scary night.

Barber Blues by Tijn 2016-04-19T20:30:00

The idea and implementation are really neat.
Music and sound effects are brilliant as well.
The perfectionist in me found the many pixels left uncut too disturbing which lead to my hair-styling empire demise.
I think the game gets a bit repetitive after a run or two, not sure how I'd tackle it though.

The Pollos by Nolocality 2016-05-09T18:17:00

This was rather weird :D
I liked the psychedelic vibe and the terrain madness but I think it actually lacked a way to know where you're actually supposed to go. I've finished the game just by roaming basically.

The colour use and how the different stones, trees etc. are laid out was really cool.
Music got a bit obnoxious after a while.
Anyway, an interesting game!

LD38 — A Small World

The Mother of All Games by sorceress 2017-05-14T20:49:09Z

40 minutes

1 cat

9 monky birds

0 snakes

The amount of content is staggering. Levels mostly made sense (except snake, which is insane). I liked the top down keys puzzle because it required thinking. It was a bit annoying that you could move in small steps even though the important resolution was whole squares. It led to accidental opening of some doors which required restart (was there a restart button? I didn't find one, so had to do levels 1&2 over again a few times I think) The guns puzzle was the right mix of twitch and thought.

On the overworld everything is pretty, and the cat is amusing.

Anyway, one of the more impressive entries I've seen this LD!

Toy Run by TimBeaudet 2017-05-13T08:30:15Z

The sound effects are absolutely magnificent!

The obstacle course itself was fun and challenging, with good looking obstacles.

I think I join previous comments about the controls.

Dot by euske 2017-05-13T08:18:55Z

I returned to this now after playing it before judging.

Music is the best I've heard so far in this LD (especially the ending one). The ending cutscene is marvellous!

Game itself is pretty easy, but everything seems consistent, working and planned which puts it on a level above LD games.

I think I would've put waaaay more kitties and made it game over when you run one over, but that may change the game goals too much so I dunno :P

A lot of life in a small world by smdeveloper 2017-05-13T07:41:51Z

It's an amusing clickfest game which could be made incredible with some sound effects

The Aliens by Nnnnneeeedddd 2017-05-13T07:19:51Z

Mostly what everyone else said. Personally I really liked the particle effects!

Music could use a slightly lower volume :P

Spider Collider by mooncalf 2017-05-13T20:11:55Z

I enjoyed this game a lot! The main mechanic is wonderful and the particle effects make losing quite amusing, so there was never a dull moment.

The introduction of the speedy balls added even more fun to the equation, and I would've liked to see more types of insane objects.

Music is brilliant and sound effects are on point.

Great job!

Planetary Escape by w1n5t0n 2017-05-13T11:36:06Z

This game was much more interesting than I thought it's going to be!

After making it through the tutorial (which ends if you die, so I had to restart a few times), I was happily planet hopping to freedom.

Graphics are solid and consistent.

Sound effects are good, but I would've liked to hear some sort of music.

Dwarf World by rnlf 2017-05-14T19:49:58Z

There's so much polish on this thing I could see my face on it!

Another great game from @rnlf, this one has it all. The first thing I've noticed is the absolutely marvellous animations (throwing the pickaxe when going up, OMG the cuteness), and they're all accompanied by the best sound effects I've heard this LD. I also liked the choice of palette. The colours of the blocks mix well together.

Now to the puzzles: They were hard! I had to restart a few times, and to think quite a lot. I did manage to finish the game, so no complaints here :)

One thing that bothered me a bit was the text font, I've found it hard-ish to read.

Other than that, it's nothing short of amazing! Great job :)

Small Whirled by PTSnoop 2017-05-13T12:54:44Z

Homebrew physics are best physics.

The minimalist graphics together with the particles look really lovely.

I really missed audio I think.

Of Course I Remember You! by GaiusJulius 2017-05-13T09:59:16Z

@PTSnoop d'oh!

Fixed now, thanks!

Of Course I Remember You! by GaiusJulius 2017-05-15T05:48:28Z

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments and feedback!

Crustal by Coffee Bland 2017-05-17T19:21:13Z

The game is fun and the graphics are nothing short of astonishing!

However, as said before, the lack of audio is almost audible :P

Recording sounds or using bfxr could really make the game better without investing too much time.

Insufficient Data by lord-bobyness 2017-05-11T20:33:28Z

I enjoyed that! I like the Asimov story and your take on it was neat. Zooming out from the local systems to the entire galaxy was cool, and when I've finished to colonise it, I was thinking: "The story doesn't end here, right?". So I was jumping up and down with glee to see the game zooming out to the entire universe The ending was brilliant as well.

I think the "tap random keys to type" was a bit unnecessary. Also, music. In my opinion a crappy minimalist music on low volume is better than no music

Golden Kapusta by Enerccio2 2017-05-13T12:03:24Z

I have found the golden kapusta! (probably by luck).

I hope you'll set up time to make audio next time. It doesn't have to be fancy, some silly recorded sound effects can do wonders.

TimeWars by Chupachu 2017-05-11T20:11:54Z

The simulator is indeed amusing and the music is very nice!

Personally, I felt that my contribution to the outcome was quite minimal. I'd have liked my actions during the game to have a more significant effect.

Quantum World by Paul Nadan 2017-05-13T08:08:19Z

This was the weirdest Sokoban I've ever played XD. Gameplay was interesting and challenging. The graphics are consistent and solid.

I think adding audio/music could really improve this game.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Screw them by RAC-Games 2018-12-04T15:12:00Z

I really liked the menu track, I actually stayed and listened to it until it repeated itself. With the intro starting immediately afterwards I started being excited. And then the intro stopped...

As you said in the description, this could've been amazing with slightly altered priorities.

Your graphics are superb, the munching your allies animation is excellent but then the audio is entirely missing. Next time with a team of 10-11 people, you just take one of them half a day before submission open [sfxr](http://www.drpetter.se/project_sfxr.html) and forbid them from doing anything other than sound effects!

The fact that you had awesome music but it was in the menu and not ingame is nearly criminal! I hope I don't come across as too critical, it's just that it's obvious you guys are insanely talented and I know you can do waaaaaaay better than this.
