LD35 — Shapeshift

Furniture Ghost by madk 2016-04-20T03:35:00

Well...I lost good and proper.

The knowledge that I got to pee on a bunch of innocent furniture and walk around with my wang dangling out was more than enough consolation.

A fine game by many measures...but damn is it hard to find that ghost.

3D platformer thing by vapgames 2016-04-20T23:00:00

Wow...sweet visuals!

Animations, color fades on the textures, sleek looking.

Intuitive controls and feels great to play.

Not on par with the theme but whatever, it's a great entry.

Flutterby by BrianSChung 2016-04-21T00:11:00

Welp, best graphics I've seen so far in the jam!

All around awesome presentation, sound is perfect for the game and it's satisfying to play on through from catapillar to death.

Great work guys!

Crescendo by unusualcadence 2016-04-21T05:31:00

Just beautiful on all levels and so satisfying to play.

Audio-visual-gameplay daaaamn sir.

Imperfection by Wertle 2016-04-30T17:22:00

Haha awesome job guys, I really got thrown for a loop wen things got 'real'.
Graphics, theme, humor...it's all there in spades. Hard as hell and it stresses you out properly as the clock runs down.
Also there's Tony killing it on audio as he tends to do heh.

Badass entry guys.

All Turd Beast by SamH 2016-04-21T02:38:00

Great job all around, I'm very impressed.

Best ending btw...it got an honest belly laugh out of me.

CatKoonBut by SojaBird 2016-04-20T00:04:00

I like it...but than again I'm a sucker for sprites in 3D games and goofy sound effects.
Either I suck or the catapillar section is hard as hell lol, but I wouldn't dock a star for that.

The way the world falls together...very nice.

Sweet game.

Brutally Shifty Dance Crew by Franklin's Ghost 2016-05-08T22:35:00

That's one confident scribble dancer.

Very very smooth and enjoyable animations on the breakdancer...I've only seen that animation technique a few times but when it's pulled off nicely it's great.

I admit I wasn't sure if my inputs were on time or not at first, perhaps consider a bit more player feedback on the important inputs for future projects.

On the bright side yours is one of the few entries I've played that has all it's elements (music, sfx, graphics, gameplay, etc..)intact and feels 'complete'...taking this and the fact that it's a safe bet you ran solo (I see no mention of a team) that's an impressive feat.

You Are What You Eat by MagnesiumNinja 2016-04-30T17:38:00

Aw sweet...I do like my 'The Thing' RP.

Surprising entry for the short time it was put together. Also the squishy sound effects were great.

Dwarf Portals ShapeShift by Barink-social 2016-04-21T02:23:00

I think it may be a bit broken sir. I to got the "Cool Down" message and couldn't morph.

I tried to find shop button but the screen was a bit out of proportion and it couldn't be found. I did mine a few walls down and find a purple beam of light...from there I could do nothing.

If it's ever up and running properly I would give it a go as you seem to have some content waiting within...cheers and good effort dude.

Space shifter by eptwalabha 2016-04-20T00:27:00

Booyah! Got that bastard...all it took was the blood of two innocent crewmen.

Now that the station is safe it can return to the duties of hunting space whales to extinction.

Bodybuilding Simulator 2016 by V_V 2016-04-19T01:54:00

This cracked me up nice and proper...great take on the theme and I dig the music.

An Unfinished Journey by LeoM 2016-04-21T00:00:00

Nice entry.

That's a hefty amount of modeling and animating to do in 3 days. With enough time I bet you could throw together one heck of a game.

Good show there, finished or not.

Selkie by nickavv 2016-04-20T01:17:00

A day in the life of a selkie, start out in search for swedish fish candy in the slowest possible manor, attempt to seduce the local fisherman with my coconut boobs and saucy whistling, realize he is probably Jesus as he moonwalks across the surface of the water, realize there are in fact 43 fish, get teleported to meal time at the 42 mark...

Selkies have the oddest lives.

That's quite a bit of modeling for three days...good job.

Selkie by nickavv 2016-04-20T22:41:00

@nickavv yeah I did the same lol...put the majority of my time into modeling and had to cut quite a bit.

I'm not 100% sure how I got the fisherman to walk backwards across the surface of the water but it may be due how I went under the fishing raft and got on-board from the far end, I walked up to him collecting the fish and when I got close I whistled at him, he then moved back towards my selkie nest across the water surface while doing a forward walking animation.

It cracked me up :) ...hopefully that helps you being able to reproduce this if it was a glitch/bug.

Pacifist Hill by wavertron 2016-04-21T02:05:00

Love the sound effects. Fun lil' time waster haha.

Ninja A Talk by kingpirux 2016-04-20T22:27:00

I like it.

I do not know sign language myself but it's pretty intuitive actually...most are easily recognizable then you start to memorize certain signs.
Haha you guys tricked me into learning a bit today.

Great entry guys.

John Wizard by 2Bit 2016-04-20T06:56:00

Very nice!

Great job on all the aspects, the music was prefect (It reminds me of the old Wizards and Warriors for the NES), presentation awesome, story cute.

The mechanic especially, never played anything like it, it was very enjoyable and fit the theme perfectly.

Shapeshifter by arkanos 2016-04-21T03:10:00

I found the WIN! yay!

Nice little romp through your shape world!

Sh1ftB00st by Ybalrid 2016-04-21T02:11:00

Leg laser destruction!

Sorry you didn't get to finish it in time but hey...it could be pretty damn fun if taken farther.

Ghost Bird by torcado 2016-04-30T17:12:00

Sweet kaleidoscope effect there, also that's quite the test of dexterity after you get the ability to flap...always interesting to rewire your brain so you can flap with your middle finger while directing to the right with your ring finger.

Squiggles by Avant-Marde 2016-04-30T17:00:00

Squishy octopus how satisfying you are to blob around with.

Very nice all around, the little touches really add to the mood and feel here. I especially dig the watermark flowing through the background and the rigidbody octopus.

Great job guys.

ThreeWizards by tdelarosa723 2016-04-20T02:51:00

Hey I really like this one, my fave of what I've played so far.

FYI the web version wouldn't work for me but the DL version works great.

This made me smile as I played it, the characters were all nice and goofy looking, each wizard had multiple forms, it had a hint of RTS in it, the spam pecking in the green wizard's bird form cracked me up.

This game has some potential...if you decide to go further with it after the jam I would be happy to play what comes of it.

Great solo entry here.

Hole In The Wall by Tribbs 2016-04-20T01:33:00

At first I was afraid of the walls...then I realized you could simply march through them with impunity and rack up a grand score. Many walls had their pride damaged during my playthrough but the way I see it is the walls started it...

I dig the colors and the little clouds that pop up when the player transforms.

Either the game is a bit broken or it's demonstrating a message about breaking down the walls of life.

The Curse of Mr. Hobo by Fierceshadow 2016-04-20T00:54:00

I got addicted to the power...I couldn't help it.

MetaShift by kiesenverseist 2016-04-20T00:41:00

Never have a I taken a jelly fish to faster than sound speeds and eaten 20 fish in the blink of an eye...

After four or so passes I think the crabs started to worship the jelly fish...they would do this dance when I descended to allow them to gaze upon the jellyfish in all it's glory.

Fun lil' game sir, good job.

Fire by lakroft 2016-04-20T01:25:00

lakroft I want to play this but there was no data in the download.

When you build with unity, you will get the .exe and the data file.

If you are using windows do this...

1: Build your game.

2: right click and go to "new" then choose "Compressed (Zipped)folder" name it after your game title.

3: place both the .exe and the data file you built within this.

4: upload the zipped file to Itchio.

I really like the visuals from the pics I see and want to play this...hoping it's playable sometime soon :)

Freeform by Faulkin 2016-04-20T00:49:00

Very original take on the shape-shift theme.

A thought dawned on me...what if they were all floating upwards into the sky and the obstacles were actually trying to save them...

Aftertile by LOSTALLOY 2016-04-20T03:20:00

Awww...even in the afterlife we all gotta take a load off now and then.

Came for the cute ghost...stayed for the quotes. Nice fitting music to.

Nice entry you two.

The Pollos by Nolocality 2016-04-20T01:57:00

Thanks for the kind words guys :)

Honestly the whole 'change the desert' thing is mostly a joke...it is actually just dropping you in new sections of the desert maze.
At first I intended to have the chickens (pollos) hide as random desert objects then attack when you got close they transform and attack.
Time ran short however and as I was frantically trying to toss it into at least 'something' I put the little quotes around the "shift" text as kind of a tongue in cheek joke about not having any real shape shifting to speak of.

The web version is junk for sure with the mouse-look issues...the DL version has none of that nonsense but at least there is a web version to speak of lol.

Thanks for playing guys!

The Pollos by Nolocality 2016-04-21T21:13:00

@Avant-Marde Oh man, I'm sorry you got sick. Note to self...don't include that effect in bigger projects lol.

To be fair you are the one who got me excited about ludum dare in the first place haha.

I just feel bad that my form of repayment for leading me into participating was a migraine...I can't shake this visual in my head of you deciding to take my game for a spin then falling into a space odyssey warp nightmare.

Also I wouldn't recommend fullscreen either on the web version...in fact I wouldn't recommend the web version at all lol.

Jugales by OrangePop 2016-04-20T01:47:00

Hey sweet...it was a fun time blacksmithing.

At first I heated and hammered a few swords and got 10 gold apiece for some almost flattened out ones.

Then I found out you can pick up the bent as hell swords, heat them up and sell them without hammering once for around 350 something gold apiece...

If only it worked like that in real life lol.

Great entry, I enjoyed everything about it even the exploiting.

Flumber by roman9 2016-04-21T02:46:00

Nice, mellow lil' game here. For some reason the music made me think of sonic spinball...I dig the audio.

Super Groovin' by mgooch0190 2016-04-20T03:28:00

Groovy-check

Dapper-check

Getting my ass handed to me by someone a fraction of my age three times in a row-check

Doodles of the highest quality sir and a fun little game.

Beneath a killing moon by Holtenice 2016-04-20T03:08:00

Very nice.

The landscape, moon and art in general is just beautiful. Your 'take' on the werewolf/moon thing is great...the friggin moon itself reaches down and ensures the wolf gets some rays.

Nice entry guys.
