Excellent!
Well done, though I never felt like a villain. Cut scenes could be cut a bit shorter too ;)
I really enjoyed this one!! Well done sir, well done!
To download from my Google Drive account, click "Windows" and then "File -> Download"
Or you can download just the .exe file using the \/ arrow on that appears on the right when you hover your mouse over the file.
@csanyk @handCraftedRadio Yup that was all planned, just needed more time! 6 hours is not enough!!
/TRAIN/TRAIN/TRAIN/TRAIN/
Hero splat bonus happens when you kill every victim in a level :)
Looked great, had good potential, too difficult to dodge arrows and rocks
Poor cardboard clones...
Nice attempt!
I keep getting stuck in the walls, and the player is too slow. Fix those issues and with some work it could be pretty interesting!
Fun idea, wish there wasn't a time limit, and the user was just being tested on his abilities instead of speed.
Very difficult once they start arming themselves. Could be neat with some more work!
This one has some potential! Give the player only JUST BARELY the resources he needs to kill the character, and add some new enemies and obstacles to use, and this could be a great puzzle game/reverse platformer!
Couldn't play it on my computer :(
I dunno, neat idea, but it all felt too random... I don't think anything I did had any effect on whether or not I won the battles, etc.
I can't seem to grab any sandwiches...
It was a bit too hard, but I bet if I played a bunch more I would get the hang of it.
Woot! 28 seconds to go :) This one was pretty fun, but I don't see a connection to the theme...
Really neat idea, the pink thing got stuck in a ceiling though :/
I like the explosive cancer, there should be more like this which "spread" and have cool effects after one smiley gets it!
I agree with the other comments, there should be more control and less randomness :)
It's an interesting concept, but I didn't find myself having much fun...
//SPOILERS//
Got 100% after I realized I can push citizens away from others to quickly pick them off without alerting their friends, and then figured out I can also help build the castle thing :D
Well done, I didn't think I liked it very much until I realized I'd been playing it for 30 minutes, and it had my complete attention, haha. Expand this game plz :)
Yes indeed this was way too ambitious, but this is a good start! The main issue I have is I never really felt like a villain... it just felt like I was playing Pokemon with a swapped out script.
I never understood what was being represented with the icons on top of the buildings. Also I never felt like a villain, just a bunch of blue guys killing red guys...
Nice job with the "flocking" code though, I know that can be tough to make work right :)
Good start to a potentially good game! I hope you flesh this out to a full game!
Strangely addicting, I really wanted to see all the messages, but could never get a "perfect shot." I'm assuming Potato is the best score, yes? ;P
The axis switch is wayyy to difficult D: But I loved the idea and use of the theme!
Bahaha, excellent.
Thanks everyone!! I'll be back later today to try all of your games :)
mattperrin: There should be a download button in the center of the page? I'll upload an alternate download location anyway... check back in 2 minutes :)
Aaahhh, thank you so much ^_^
I've played almost everyone's games who've commented here (anyone I haven't I promise to soon!), so much variety and cool ideas!! I love this community, wish I had started participating earlier than last year <3
Been working on perfecting the game, here's my progress so far if you are interested:
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/05/18/gameplay-video-of-space-jellyfish/
Oh! You must have chosen Drag the first round and then Click the next round. This is intentional, having multiple control schemes :)
note: Dragging as a control scheme was kind of a failure, but I left it in because, well, meh :P
Android version doesn't seem to work... I get an error that seems that it is trying to reference files on C:/... which doesn't exist on Android, haha.
Played the flash version, it's a cool idea, reminds me a bit of the Wario Ware series :) Liked the music quite a bit!
Well made physics :)
It was definitely very minimal! Liked the audio :)
Can't connect either :(
Minimalist taken to the extreme. We all bow down to your glory
Cool idea, awesome lighting and animations! Gameplay... not as great, but it's a start!
I can only get to Zone 1, the zones don't seem to progress after I finish collecting the coins :/
Man I wish there were checkpoints!! Otherwise not a bad representation of the famous Limbo for 48 hrs of work :)
Momentum = Attack is a good idea! It's just really really hard to dodge those spikes, oh man >.< I hope your final version turns out nicely!
I love exploration games, and this one does not disappoint! Nice job making each section just unique enough to be able to tell your way around, and easily see where you have been :) I liked that it changes colors as you progress.
Nice idea, could have been better executed with more time!
Ditto Cybearg's comments :)
Cool concept! I enjoyed myself :)
Neat idea, would like to try this with a friend :)
Liked the narration, well done!
Liked the narration, especially the "help" in the last level ;) Well done!
It's okay little guy, bats and hopping blobs are my greatest fears too ._.
Cool game!
Is it a heart potato... or a butt potato?
Very polished, well done! I could see this turning into a full game :D
Cool concept! It's a fun little game! I got to the Green "level" :)
Neat idea, though it was very difficult to tell how my control was altering the movements of the objects on screen. Great graphics with the lighting and all, and the audio is very well designed to fit the mood!
Definitely needs work on the AI (I don't expect much from 48 hours though), but it's a cool idea!
Very cool, I loved your circular minimap! Would have loved some sound to increase tension :)
Good idea with the shooting direction, I agree with runonthespot, it's much more sensible to be running away from whatever you are shooting! Keep making games!!
Not bad for a very simple arcade shooter :)
Well that was odd, but enjoyable!
Cool bullet splitting mechanic! Work on this, you have a neat puzzle game idea on your hands :)
Reminds me of my first games and projects! Keep at it!
On another note... oh my those sound effects hurt my brain >_< lol
Greate idea! Please turn this into a full game!!
Cool ideas here, I like the clean graphics and color-block style! I wish the mechanics and controls had been worked on more though. I got two barrels and then couldn't figure out how to proceed... how do you get past a door without going through it?
I'm horrible at this game, but cool idea! It seems lots of people are toying with the "invisible" theme with this LD, even though the theme is minimalism... interesting!
I love the idea behind covering up and ignoring your problems instead of actually fixing them (that's what I gathered at least). The mechanics behind the puzzles are great too, I like cube-rotation based puzzles quite a bit!
Well done!
Oof, creepy! Don't want to play this again. Yes I am a weenie.
Can't get past "You haven't seen this yet" though it was an interesting concept :)
Very cool idea, I enjoyed it :)
Not sure what the hammer did... nice lighting, neat ideas though!
Well... it does fit the theme. Well done?
Cool! Nice physics, though the controls can be a bit frustrating. I hope you have the chance to make this game better and release it!
Great slime animation! The game was pretty enjoyable!
Cool, I liked how your turning designated when enemies show up. Lots of RPG's seem to be more or less random, but this one you know when you will be starting a battle. The RPS mechanic was a nice idea, but I think it's too random, and doesn't leave any room for strategy in a game like this.
Well done Sophie, it's a beautiful game :)
Got a little monotonous, but it was very well made!
Boximalism: A game about racism.
haha, really though nicely done, I enjoyed it!
Reminded me of the games I made when I first started out making stuff, good memories, fun to play :)
Very good!! It felt like I was using echolocation, which was a neat experience :D
Not a bad fps for 48 hrs. The way the theme was used was not very strong, but good entry nonetheless :)
It's okay, I found it very difficult to see the bullets though, especially my own. Couldn't tell if I was hitting the enemies or not much of the time...
Not bad, I liked the hand drawn aesthetic, especially the taped together backgrounds, that was very cool! The controls were a bit floaty though, and on the spaceship level it was kind of tough to see the enemy bullets on that background. Also not the most original use of the "10 seconds" theme ;)
Man that boss is hard!! Tried like 20 times, couldn't get him enough within the time limit! Hahaha
Oh hey also, try to avoid installers next time! Everyone hates installers :)
Haha, this was actually surprisingly fun! Very well done :D
Boss rush mode for the win! :)
The music in the first tutorial level made me laugh out loud, well done. Well done.
The controls were iffy, and I couldn't get past He Man for some reason, but it was enjoyable :)
This is one of the best entries I've seen, super well done!! Everything is so well made! I hope you expand this into a full game, and mobile versions would be awesomeeeee!!
Oh my goodness why is the character so damn slow? The only way I could stand moving around was jumping constantly. I like the idea behind the music mechanic, but the game really suffered from the short development period. If you had more time, I bet this could be fleshed out into something interesting and fun!
Oh man that was an excellent idea! Your number of lives are completely random, I love it! I kind of wish the controls handled a bit better, but wow nicely done with the concept! Laughed out loud the first time I was shot XD
Thanks for all the nice comments!! I wasn't expecting people to enjoy the idea so much :D
@Jupiter_Hadley Oh! I updated it to be Fraps compatible, download the 1.2 version from my original download link :)
@lulzfish_4 Yeah, but it wasn't supposed to be as drastic a change in speed as it turned out to be.
Thanks everyone! I promise to rate every game of anyone who comments :-) If I haven't gotten to you yet, I will in the next day or two!
@oajfh: I actually made the music in ten minutes just messing around with Terry Cavanagh's new music maker Bosca Ceoil, not intending to put it in the game. A few hours later, I figured why the heck not, I'll stick it in the game. I put the "press M to mute" message in, and that's when random stupid inspiration struck! XD
Lasted 12 rounds, nice job trolling the player, haha
Very brave to make a multiplayer game for a LD entry, and it turned out pretty neat! I never had anyone else connect with me, but it looks like it would have been cool with multiple people :) Nice "yarrrr" recording, haha.
I like your logo!
Very difficult game, either that or I'm really unlucky and the green platform was in the furthest place possible from me every time. Never once landed on green... maybe make a smaller playfield? Or at least give the green platform a maximum distance it can appear from the player? Cool idea though, and it looks very nice!
The art is amazing, and the game could have been a lot better with a full week, instead of just 2.5+ days. I definitely see the potential here!!
Very simple, but quite fun! The upgrade system kept me coming back for more: "just one more wave, I need that upgrade!"
Haha, excellent idea with the rotating level, I enjoyed collecting the angry cheeses XD
Almost beat it, got down to the last enemy and ran out of time. I like the bullet time concept. Not a bad attempt :)
Aahhh why was the reset button right next to the other controls :(
Well, it wasn't bad, and up until I hit reset I was enjoying it :)
Woo! 207331! Agreed with vittorioromeo, I think only having 1 health point would increase tension and make for more satisfying plays :)
hahaha, well that was interesting. Can't get more than 30000 in the 10 second modes, but I feel like getting a high score takes a back seat to the pretty colors... which are indeed bright and pretty, and is what you do so well!
Quick review: Not much of a game, but bright pretty colors were excellent :D
I found it tough to remember to press the space bar every 9ish seconds, just as some people who take medications find it difficult to remember to take their pills. Very good mechanic with a very real real-life meaning behind it. Whether you meant it or not, this is a problem a lot of people deal with, and I understand how terrifying it can be if they forget to take their medication on time.
If you wanted to add something to it, I think overdosing could be an interesting mechanic (like if you take it within 6 seconds of your last pill, you collapse for three seconds, or something).
The platforming control was a bit iffy, and I wish there was a bit more variety in the gameplay, but I enjoyed the concept and got my own meaning out of it :)
Super well polished game, holy crap. Excellent design all around, with a touch of gruesome horrible imagery. Dang buddy, well done.
Oh man super difficult but excellent fun game! I loved this one, please turn it into a full game!!
Nice job for your first finished game!
Man this is a difficult one! My best was 6.5 seconds, tried about 40 times.
SUPER frustrating controls, man! I don't know if it's me, but I really hated how the character controlled. Otherwise I liked the sounds, visuals, and level designs. Well done for 72hrs, but needed more testing when it came to the control :)
Well that was odd, haha. Excellent presentation, but not much "game" to it I guess. I loved the layout of the texts, looked great!
Randomly generated platformer, cool idea, but didn't turn out much fun to be honest. Nice attempt though!
Not bad, like others have said the quests should have been easier to read, and should have been more obvious when you complete one. Nice pixelly artwork!
Nice story, enjoyed it :)
It was very simple, your story was original though! Good attempt :)
Wow very original idea, didn't think to use space to speed myself upward faster until the last level, haha. I liked this one a lot!
Nice start, you've got a great solid engine here, you could turn this into something really neat if you wanted to :)
Nice! I like it a lot!
Beat the game! I am so much better at this game than nddrylliog you don't even know.
I liked it! I wish the wall jumping was easier, it's quite a tough mechanic to get just right! Polish this up and put it up somewhere, you've got a winner :D
Not bad, could have benefited from more time :)
Not sure why I was getting a Game Over sometimes, nice take on a Pipe Dream type of game though!
Also your logo character is amazing.
This was a bit confusing, I couldn't really figure out what options to choose and why, based on the current character. Nice attempt, I really like the idea!
Nice graphics! I agree with the above comparison to Wario-Ware games! :)
Nice platformer! I liked the scanlines a lot, but the jitteryness on the edges gave me a headache after a while. Also I wish I could press R to restart at any time. Other than that, you had some nicely designed levels, and all the features of a good platforming game :)
Not bad, I see lots of potential in this game, I hope you pursue it further!
I've played a lot of shooters, but this felt very gruesome, very real, for some reason. I didn't want to kill my comrades... even if they are on the other side of the team.
Anyway I loved every bit of it, it's very well polished for such a short development period, I hope you can expand this into something even better! Have you considered a mobile version?
I love the character design and the "inside the code" theme! Other than a few tweaks I would make on the controls, it seriously feels like a complete game. Well done!!
I think that a 20 minute tutorial is a bit much, especially for a Ludum Dare game, haha. I can tell you have big ideas and big plans for this one, I hope it turns out well!
Nice! I could see kids eating this one up :)
Well done, and good use of the LD theme. Very nice touch how the endings can be "stacked," I found four unique endings and combined three of them together for my last playthrough.
Excellent job!
I'm confused... but I had fun, I think? Haha :D
I kind of wish there was more to the puzzles than just "click this as soon as it's available" and "click all these things in succession quickly," but then again anything more complicated would be tough to figure out within the 10 second limit... I did enjoy the concept though!
Nice idea and artwork, and I liked that the worlds were randomly generated, though I spawned in a rock once, haha. Nice entry!
I really liked the concept here, as you can't win, someone has to be sacrificed. Good spin on the theme too, making each second a "turn." Wish you had more time for graphics and audio, but overall well done!
Kind of glitchy, nice idea with the 10 second upgrades, good attempt!
Very nice control! Most mouse controlled characters like this don't control nearly as well. Just that achievement alone is excellent, plus the game is really fun! Well done!!
Btw the slope/wind mechanic was really freaking hard D:
The game itself was not the most original, but it was the little touches that made it good! The random name generator, the cat names, I really liked the design of the text on top of the cats, the layout of the text was very nice. You are very conscious of the little touches in your design, and it shows.
There were a few bugs, and one cat spawned exactly on top of a mine so I couldn't save him, but otherwise I enjoyed this entry!
Taquito Tower is the most best tower of taquitos I've ever taquito'd. Which state is the no state I don't know my abbreviationss :c
Neat idea, having exploration be the game itself. I wish there was more time to explore, or more teleportation spots (or maybe I only found the first?). I think that having collectibles or flags to mark your progress could be cool, have it be a challenge to find all the flags, instead of just the user remembering where they have/have't been.
Interesting idea, though the randomness of it made "winning" near impossible... but maybe that's the point? You find yourself separated from your [whatever] and feel like you need [whatever] back in your life, but the world is holding you back, making it impossible to [take back what you did/get whatever back/etc].
I think I get it the message, and I enjoyed that, but the game itself was lacking.
Pretty original idea, I enjoyed it! I found it extremely difficult though... maybe I'm just horrible at this game, haha.
Ha! Excellent.
Not bad! The gameplay and the drum music got repetitive after a while, but other than that it was enjoyable :)
Not bad, it felt like it got very overwhelming very fast, but then I just stood in one spot and spammed space until I won, hahaha :)
Cool idea! Reminds me of an entry from the Minimalist theme from last year, can't remember the name of it though...
Gets very difficult around level 10, nice game though well done!
Not bad! I liked the idea that you keep your items through level resets, made for some cool puzzles!
Alright this is definitely the most stylish game I've played so far, I love the effects! The game is pretty fun, though I got stuck in blocked-in rooms more times than I would have liked. If you continue developing this, maybe add a pathfinding algorithm or something to make sure that all the assets in the randomly generated rooms are accessible :)
Interesting one here, not sure how to rate it. I liked the idea, just wish there was some way to progress in the game, or a way to get more of the story than just these few seconds.
Nice entry, enjoyed it :)
Haha, excellent interpretation of the theme XD
Wow! That was odd and awesome :D
Great visuals and music, and I liked exploring the randomly generated world. Didn't get too far into the story, collecting rotors got a bit repetitive after a while tbh.
If I had to give you any suggestions, I think that I would have made each story element only cost 1 rotor, but make the player find their way back to the house themselves. That way you get a better sense of being lost and helpless the further out into the forest you go. Just my two cents :)
