Pilot & Command by HeyChinaski 2013-04-29T21:48:00
Very nice use of the theme. Beautiful graphics.

Very nice use of the theme. Beautiful graphics.
Fantastic graphics. The only thing I would change would be adding some simple ambient noises or some music. I'm not sure how I feel about having Humor as part of the grading criteria. I think 'games' can be inclusive of other emotions, and your game is proof of that.
That was pretty cool. I wish the read command was a different button than the shoot command. Signs kept getting in my way when enemies were after me. I thought it was very ambitious of you to include a story. I think you pulled it off. Good job!
Nice work! The art was fun. It reminded me of a Windows 8 commercial for some reason.
This has been my favorite entry so far. I enjoyed that a lot. Fantastic art and audio. Really hard, but I think that's a good thing.
Nice. Five stars and two thumbs up for innovation. On a minor note, maybe use descriptive icons for the corner buttons instead of characters. That way people understand what they do faster, and you still maintain that sense of minimalism.
I liked the sound track. It needed some bouncing sound effects for the ball.
Nice. I liked the puzzles. They had a good learning curve.
That was sweet. I really liked the graphics and character design. I feel like some music would have helped the theme though.
I really like the audio. It reminds me of a really awesome DOS game. The game is really hard and confusing. I couldn't figure out how to play. There was a certain point where I died every time because the thingy kept overtaking me.
Nice interpretation of the theme. My brother was mad at me because my game had nothing to do with the art movement.
The collision is a little finicky. It's hard to squeeze through gaps in the wall, and doors won't open unless you're perfectly aligned to them. Also, a way to move faster or to teleport back to start would be nice. Overall, good job. I love maze games.
That was pretty cool. Very innovative. It reminded me of ZZT a little, one of my favorite games.
That's awesome! I love this game. It gives you a good satisfying feeling every time you womp the floor. I think you should hint to the player that they should aim for the edges though. It took me a few plays before I realized how I was getting points.
That was fun, but I couldn't get past the third wave of enemies. I kept on getting cornered off screen and mauled to death. I liked the eyeball sound effect. I made me smile :D
I got stuck on level 10, but I really enjoyed it. Good job with the tutorial. With the level select screen you should be able to select a level without the mouse. Switching to mouse every time you die just adds an unnecessary step to retrying.
I get what you were going for with the scene getting darker at night, but it makes it really hard to see (it may be my monitor.) I think you could get the same effect by shifting the color pallet from reds to blues, or you could start the player off with a lantern. Nice entry! Thanks for sharing!
"You survived 30.1 seconds" :D That was my favorite. The graphics are fantastic. Good job.
Thanks for the feedback you guys. CMaster, the texture makes the object look more high-rez than they really are. Here's a picture of one untextured: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3xWIYE9dsVla1RLT001b2JocU0/edit?usp=sharing
Also, I can't get the webplayer to work. I know it should be really simple, but it just doesn't work.
CMaster, thanks, but I still can't get it to run out of a Dropbox public folder. I'm going to have to find somewhere else to host it. This worked in the past. It runs just fine locally, but will not run out of Dropbox.
There! there's a web port now. I think it was an issue with my security settings. Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry it's so hard. You guys are right, I really needed more easy levels.
Linus, that is strange... Thanks for pointing that out. I've been having a lot of issues with that. I never would have guessed how to fix that on my own.
That was fun :D Flying tanks are fun to drive. The destructible terrain was a nice touch.
I almost didn't play this game because the thumbnail reminds me of "Un Chien Andalou" (A very messed up movie by Salvador Dali), but I'm glad I did because even though it wasn't finished I thought what you did have was interesting and funny. I shaved the heck out of his nose :D Thanks for the submission.
On a level with boosters, I got my ball moving so fast it went right through a wall, so I couldn't finish the level. Other than that, it was pretty fun. Thanks for sharing!
That was exactly what I needed after two days without sleep. I'm going to play this again right before I take my finals.
Nice. It feels like the enemies have too much health. With as simple as combat is, it would be nice to be able to one-shot enemies. Having to land several hits is a tad repetitive.
Great game. The level design was mind bending and very creative. Some of the levels had camera issues. Sometimes it was too hard to see upcoming obstacles until you've already crashed into them.
I'm getting the same error. A white box is taking up a quarter of the screen.
Thanks for fixing it. I replayed it, and I liked it a lot. Clever use of the theme which reminded me of the SCP Game. I freaked out a little on the Weeping Angel level. Good work.
Simple and fun! I liked the graphics, and the sounds fit the game quite well. You had to be spot on with your jump timing. It made it feel like Pitfall, which I think is what you were going for to make it more challenging and arcade-like. Thanks for posting.
Great art and story. I feel like the dialogue needs to be broken up more with more interactive bits. Including more choices would keep people attention from drifting.
I did it mom! I came in second! Nice game. I had fun.
Nice work. I enjoyed it. I reminded me of the SimAnt game for PC.
Fantastic work! I love the graphics and the soundtrack. The aiming is kind of awkward for a sidescoller. It would make more sense if you were defending something in the middle with enemies appearing on all sides. Lots of character and fun to play though.
Sweet! I love the character design and graphics. The game reminded me of Tower of Heaven a bit with the rule system. I feel like the double jump is a bit OP though. You can clear quite a bit of the level by just double jumping a few times.
I loved the graphics. Sucking up cows caused me great happiness. It was a little weak on the theme though, apart from the off hand reference to it in the story.
Sweet! I love this. The only thing that would have made it better was sound. I thought it had high replayability.
I really liked your concept. It had a lot of character. I couldn't figure out level two, even after looking at you link. Maybe if there were more in-game hints, like support columns. I loved the music too.
I'm stuck in the first room. I'm pressing ctrl on everything but nothing seems to be interactive. I can't go through any of the doors, and I can't walk off the edges of the screen. I don't know what to do.
Do you have a direct download link? Media fire keeps crashing and won't let me download it. You're screen shot looks cool.
Really solid gameplay and graphics. I thought it was a lot of fun. Sound would have helped with the mood a lot though. I liked the way combat worked. Nice job.
The graphics were sweet. I died miserably on the first level. I'm not sure if I was missing rules or doing something wrong. I thought the unit selection screen was a cool way to represent purchasing points. Nice work!
Sweet game. Reminds me of Ibb and Obb. It's missing the theme though, unless I missed something.
I agree with T1, the character design and graphics were fun. However, I couldn't really figure out how to play. I was kind of confusing. I like the character that looks like Strong Sad holding a stick.
The graphics and sound made me happy. Very creative, fun, and simple. It's kind of lacking the theme though.
Nice work. It made me sad though :'C You get 5 mood stars of sadness.
It was simple and really polished. Great work! I was really bad at identifying the drawings. I don't think I got a single one right :D Also, I feel sorry for the people who have to identify my drawings.
I liked your interpretation of the theme. It reminded me of Lemmings just a bit. The transitions on the opening were also pretty sweet. The only thing is that it got kind of repetitive rather quickly.
