Would you please provide a build for Windows or Web? Otherwise I can't test it.
The controls are really choppy and this made the game not fully enjoyable.
The game is really big, and has a lot of potential.
Maybe a little too distance from the theme "Alone"
Overall good, but it could be much better with better controls.
I don't realize which is the objective, but I really fell alone.
The music and the graphics made my head fuzzy after a while..
I agree that is a regular zombie shooter game but it looks nice and you can improve it by adding really few things like random generation of zombies and medipack (so that it'll not look always the same).
I would have prefer a much darker graphic for the mood "alone".
Can't vote since I don't have a mac.. a video should do the work.
Really good job with the light, in just 48 hours you did a good job.
I think the real thing missing it's some way to lose the game :)
The idea of the lamp-oil it's good but the controls are not so good, so the game its kinda frustrating.
Those lego-zombies are cute, at least it's not another shoot-the-zombie game.
By the way I agree with kato9.
The controls are a little to slow to move in such a big place, good job with the lights. I mush agree with the others, monsters are really difficult to avoid/kill.
my Fps was about 1500 in all the versions.
Maybe you should relate the speed of the character to the deltaTime from one frame to the other, so it'll work on every machine at the same speed.
The idea is good, and the realization too
I agree that the mood didn't seem alone..
By the way I overall liked it
You took the theme and make something really unexpected. Good Job :)
It doesn't work on my machine :(
win7 says missing lib: zlib1.dll
The sounds were planned but I didn't had time to find someone suitable.
For the camera.. when I started the game it was intented to be a really dark game (it's still dark but much less) so I put a really close camera in order to have the light showing something and not only black. Maybe you're right I should have zoomed back before the final release.
Very good, loving the linux support!
The real missing is the sound :(
The concept is good and the realization too. good job!
This has been really fun to play with. Actually I got a similar idea some time ago, but you've done it and in a really nice way. Hope you continue the develop
Sorry, couldn't test on linux. Can you provide a video for mac/linux users?
Even if I had to change computer to play this i must admit that's a nice re-interpretation of pong! :D
My keyboard really need to be cleaned ahah.
I really liked having so many enimies and a cool story. btw someone can find a little boring reading all that story (actually i do love story in games :) )
It's quite a complex game! (I really like them) and the graphics are good too, i've enjoyed the loading mini-game :)
and.. the youtube video when you close the game ahah! really funny :D
You're running for the humor, am I right? Btw i think that the main idea of sticking cubes with the correct side can be used in a logic game. maybe you should have more cubes in a square with only a free moves per time and you've to stick in the right way two of them. Continue to develop it don't let it go ;)
The screens look really good, too bad it can't run on linux :(
Since it's java can't you make a little build for us?
Btw don't worry I'm going to test it on my home pc later.
I loved the lines art, and then godzilla destroying everything.. well it's an evergreen :D
Not sure of the connection with tiny world btw...
This is really really really fun!! Thank you!
Very funny! It runs on linux with wine out of the box btw.
The android version is soooo nice!
The gameplay it's a little repetitive but it's funny to tap things, probably on desktop it's not so good as on a phone.
The best part of this game is the magnifier (good job indeed, really smooth) and the audio effects really adds a lot! :D
Actually I died so fast :( but then my player proud forced me to try again and again ;)
Actually I've just tested with both chromium and chrome but it doesn't even start. Too bad cause my game too took inspiration from game of life, so I'm really interested to see your work.. Any idea on how to make this working? Can you put a video maybe?
Ok in another machine it worked with google chrome out-of-the-box probably my other machine has some problem with gl and chrome. btw nice adaptation of the game of life! I mean you've added different grounds and a spherical surface which makes more interesting the whole thing. good job!
Ahah I was able to finish it :D
I really liked the graphics and the concept. I mean in the end you've just to press on button but its still hard and challenging cause you've to think to solve the level.
I think the music gives the right sense of "dreaming".
Plus it works out of the box on my linux machine and this gives you +1 without even thinking :D
Crashes on linux too :(
I think the main idea is good, actually its a bit too hardcore for me. I agree on having different color/textures for your shots and the enimies one.
Hey, this is LudumDare there's no game too ugly. Everybody knows how difficult is to do a game in such a little time ;)
Sadly i can't ear the sound :( everybody sais its so good. I'll try on another pc soon.
I'm loving the polish graphics and the concept btw :)
Ahah actually I found this game quite funny. It resemble to me that old books for child where you've to turn the page according to the decision you make, but here is online much cooler :)
I agree maybe a guest account should do the trick. Or maybe you can just create a random user everytime if you're saving some data for the game (like the objects you collect)
I think the game it's really funny, cool graphics and perfect music for the theme.
I didn't like the "dead baby" research.. that's not funny at all actually.
It was fun to throw some gnomes ahah.
Next time put the html on some free web hosting space so much more people will test it!
I think this is so great! I'm an html5 developer and i'm so impressed you could do something like this in 48hours! Did you use a particular sdk-toolkit?
Thank you for the reply! Iam going to test it!
I liked the graphics and the idea of the wind carring you. But sometimes the wind doesn't blow or something like that and I couldn't do anything else then die 3-4 times then it appears again.. don't know if it's a bug or if i'm missing something..
I testes on linux with wine, it works but the mouse is just crazy. The environment is kinda crazy, i was getting an headache after a few minuts of exploring. Btw good job!
I loved 2001: A space odissey and the game it's really fun. :)
Cool concept, graphics, audio, gameplay.
Only the controls should be refined but you really did it. this game rocks :D
This is really good!
Somehow it remembers me super mario galaxy :)
Forgot to add that runs with wine on linux ;)
Don't forget to have a look to my development diary, I had fun writing it :)
Thanks actually I'm going to fix only minor bug for this release, so i've changed the icon of "points" and even their name into "organic matter" so maybe that is less confusing.
Actually I've tested the game on an android browser and yet it kinda works. The only limit is that you can't travel around the table but it's still possible to finish the game by building the big boss! A cool side affect of working with html :)
Actually i put some memes cause i'm really bad in drawing and they're a simple way to explain a story. I mean if I wanna express anger with my drawings I can't while with a fuuuu image everybody are going to understand :)
I'll try to add an undo-button.
For the tutorial my first intent was to have an in-game tutorial but then i runned out of time :(
I tought that to have an in-game tutorial i would have to add some middle-objectives or some achivement (something like ok, you've created a new bateria wow you get an achivement) but then it was too much to do in too little time, so i created a "fixed" tutorial.
I'm going to wait for more response, then I wanna talk live with some of my friends, create better rules and then try to come out again.
Added the "undo button".
I limited the undo activity to the current turn.
I was thinking on some way to increase the strategical component.
At first I would change the values of cost/production. In the end you should be able to produce no more then 2 bacteria from one. so if it cost 10 then in 5 turn you'll produce 20.. Then the resources on board sooner or later must disappear cause they've been used (and maybe new ones appears somewhere else). Then i would change the values of food need.. I mean right now the only way to kill a bacteria for no-nutrition is to sorround it with other bateria or something like that.. so it's not so hard to keep them alive.. Do you have any advice on this?
I used it only in the first screen of tutorial.. Btw I'm going to remove it since that's not even part of the game. All the other art have been drawed in inkscape so they're ok.
Just removed it don't worry. I wanna my work judged for what is it, that stuff was just secondary.
I see, that was my original plan, to have the maid cleaning random areas (actually over-crowsed areas of bacteria should die due to lack of food).
I've put two different version so I can continue develop your advices without disturbing any more the competition I hope..
Next time I'll do it immediately, sorry but i'am still a newbie of ludum dare..
I liked the idea of being on an little flying island.
I had some difficult in playing, sometimes I couldn't shoot even if i was full of ammo.
Btw good job, +1 for linux compatibility :)
