LD19 — Discovery

The Legend of Akata by philomory 2010-12-29T01:43:00

Very decent game, I liked it. Reminiscent of Zelda, certainly, even in the title.
Just wanted to add - I added a windows downloadable version for my game. I don't know if it will solve your texture display problem, though.

You Found the Crystal by GameRoom 2010-12-21T11:27:00

Having pretty much all precise jumping puzzles combined with controls that feel rather imprecise made this more frustrating than fun for me, unfortunately.

Disco? Very! by Tom 7 2011-01-08T14:55:00

This game has my girlfriend's seal of approval!

You must discover yourself. by Tyranus 2010-12-20T06:39:00

Short, but bittersweet! Nice graphics and nice idea.

Where can I go now? by Mirroar 2010-12-21T11:07:00

Actually, no, it isn't. Maybe the site was down for a moment when you tried :/

Where can I go now? by Mirroar 2010-12-28T10:38:00

@philmory That's indeed very odd. I've never had anything like that happen, it sounds like the texture loading messes up somehow. Either that, or it's on the OpenGL side of things.
If I get the time during the next days, I could try compiling the code into a standalone version again. Maybe that'll work better for you. But I'm not sure if / when I can make that happen.

Where can I go now? by Mirroar 2010-12-31T13:20:00

For those of you who think gathering resources and upgrading is all there is to this game, you might want to explore a bit more and keep an eye on your minimap.
Also, read the text in game.

StickMan's Discovery by DivideByZero 2010-12-22T18:28:00

The download, as well as starting the game, worked for me. But for next time you might want to release a standalone version of the game instead of hiding the exe in the depths of your project folder.

Space Miners by Shane Gadsby 2011-01-07T23:33:00

That sure gave my Spacebar a workout...

Voyage of Discovery by alexlarioza 2010-12-21T13:13:00

Unfortunately, 7 colonies in, I encountered a bug where I could not do anything but move anymore - no other commands worked, pressing q did nothing either. Fun, nonetheless.

Scanno Domini by Tom Francis 2011-01-07T22:38:00

"That sounds ominous..." D:

Alchemy by panderia 2011-01-08T13:32:00

Really wish you had the time to implement crafting, this looks like it might have potential.

From Nothing by intmain 2010-12-27T10:56:00

I also got stuck in the wall once, from then on I was more careful when changing screens. I found the place where you had to bring the little "lights" and actually collected all of them on my second play.
The sound when you finish the game is a little distressing, but otherwise it's a very neat concept!

Terra Nova by BadgerPriest 2011-01-08T14:24:00

543 Score, I was down to 3 people before I remembered I could rest to heal people's injuries. D'Oh

Simple yet fun, great work for the 48h timeframe.

Lost Discoveries by Tb0o 2010-12-27T01:26:00

It's a decent idea, but people who are not familiar with graphic novel games like this one might struggle with the controls.
It's a lot less painful if you know that you can just right-click at any time to save.

Mothership by hsmith 2011-01-08T14:04:00

very soothing, I quite liked the ambience. Graphics are simplistic, but this can evolve nicely.

LD23 — Tiny World

Another Kind of World by daandruff 2012-04-24T14:40:00

Nice job! MY gf löves the fact that you made it using lua ;)
Very moody, a bit frustrating at times, and I only found out after the game that your own bombs didn't hurt you ;)

Tiny World - A Giants Tale by DalsGames 2012-04-24T15:37:00

If you label one of your links "Web", people will think it's playable on the web, instead of just being a download page for the windows version.

LD28 — You Only Get One

The Gift by CarbonCoder 2013-12-18T21:15:00

Pretty cool idea, now if only it wasn't so short :)

Servassacre by doonay21 2013-12-17T21:12:00

Interesting concept. Challenging, yes, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's too hard. A few more introductory levels to get you used to shoving your minions around wouldn't hurt, though.
I kept feiling level 3 because my mouse went outside of the window, though, which got a bit annoying. And it might have been a good idea to provide a way for testers to unlock later levels should they get frustrated with one. :)

You only got one... HUNDRED lives! by RedPanda 2013-12-17T21:24:00

Good work so far, it feld nice to play and the art looks cute. Too bad you didn't manage to implement the mechanics completely, that would be fun to try I think.

Dare to Dig! by Mirroar 2013-12-16T10:13:00

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! Yes, the later levels can be difficult to reach. As a rule of thumb, look out for rings, they will help you crack the tougher stone of the lower levels. And you probably want to get at least one of each of the other upgrade items.

Dare to Dig! by Mirroar 2013-12-16T22:19:00

@David Colson, @derdragon weird, I've tested the game on a Windows and a Max machine. But from what you're saying, I think I've only bundled the 64-bit executable. I'll add a 32-bit version, and that will hopefully run fine on everybody's machine!

Dare to Dig! by Mirroar 2013-12-16T22:58:00

@Zephyr89 Oops... In my alphabet, there is no P! Find a better name then, because you will not use P as a letter in your name when playing my game! (Yeah, a typo, I somehow missed that letter when telling the game what input is allowed. Might fix it later, but it's pretty minor, after all. And kind of funny ;) )

Dare to Dig! by Mirroar 2013-12-17T07:43:00

@allinlabs congrats! Currently your objective can always be found on level 10.

@ZYXer Oh wow, glad you and your roommate are having so much fun! :D

Juggle by Wekaj 2013-12-18T21:05:00

Pretty fun, but also pretty difficult, I think it could use a somewhat slower start to get you used to it, maybe an easy level to beat to get the player's spitit up befor throwing him/her into the nightmare ;)
I kept thinking to myself: "Just one more try, I should be able to do this!"
Longest time I've been able to go was 85 seconds on the first level.

Nature's Howl by louis.denizet 2013-12-16T11:57:00

Very nice, very athmospheric game. Clear goal, easy to play but gets a bit hectic at the end.

However, from what I can see, the music has not been created within these 48 hours, I could easily find it on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_kKFjwpwqc).

There was a world by Kar 2013-12-16T11:17:00

Interesting concept and well done. Unfortunately I hit a bug where after about two weeks I couldn't move or do anything anymore, but until then I had built the science center.

Tank Shooter by MrJavaFrank 2013-12-16T10:58:00

Pretty fun. I kept running into things (which is also what eventually killed me) and the enemy AI seems to be doing pretty well.

Hamlet by derdragon 2013-12-16T22:40:00

Bravo! This made certainly made me laugh. Very good looking, and very fun. I could imagine myself playing through a much longer game of this type.

She Only Has One Day by sjames_93 2013-12-16T22:54:00

Neat, cogratulations on submitting a game. It starts of rather slow but actually gets kind of difficult towards the end. I slipped on my first try and beat it on the second. It could use a bit more diversity, I think.

Club Man by Lancelot Gao 2013-12-16T21:58:00

Short but fun, all in all a nice package and cool concept!

DISC-MAN by MMoffatt 2013-12-16T23:05:00

Pretty funky and fun. Could use a game over screen so you can see your score after you lost.

Mr.Rect by Mindtricks 2013-12-18T21:09:00

Good first effort, keep it up! You've got the beginnings of a decent game down, maybe next time you'll have more time to polish it.

YourOneAndOnly by npgames 2013-12-17T20:58:00

Congrats and nice work. I like this take on the theme. The art and audio also work out nicely :)

The Radar Guy by pavelzuk 2013-12-16T22:16:00

Doesn't feel like much of a game, I must admit. But it was well done, everythign fits together nicely.

One Direction by PaulRdi 2013-12-16T11:29:00

"hit ESCAPE to rage quit" - It's not working D:

Anyway, interesting concept, this makes for a very nice puzzle game. The levels are well designed and tricky to beat. I wish the drone would move faster, though. It's a bit tiring to watch it trudge along when, especially when you make mistages and have to replay the beginning of a stage.

Fighter-01 by Thalikoth 2013-12-16T23:16:00

Fun idea. I found it worked best to just somewhat align the jet under an enemy and then mash the space bar to spray shots in the general direction of the enemy. Rinse and repeat, got me a score of 18, I think.

Ghostup by leafo 2013-12-17T21:50:00

Neat game, had to play it twice because I didn't have the sound on at first ;)

Immortality by Kane 2013-12-17T21:36:00

Cool concept for a roguelike kind of game. I found it to be pretty hard and got annoyed a bit at the fact that you can't really tell whether you're still standing on a trap. Bandages don't do much if you keep getting sprayed with fire or acid. :(

Rex Helianthus by Sytech 2013-12-18T21:32:00

Interesting, and good work with the Commodore-Style graphics.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Temples of Purgatory by Gulyasarni66 2017-12-04T18:09:27Z

I liked the mood, and the sounds helped to figure out what was happening (like getting hit from behind). I barely managed to beat it, running from enemies with 5 health remaining. Quite fun, overall :)

Infestus by Handle 2017-12-04T19:10:36Z

Simple, nice idea. I liked it

Five Star Dining by arcadia 2017-12-04T18:42:01Z

Nice idea, though it gets quite stressful after a while and I just thought to myself: Oh god please make them stop coming! In the end I made it to 345 reviews, though I stopped interacting with the customers at about 165.

Some kind of level mechanic (stopping after 20 customers, more on later levels) might have helped with that, I think.
