Hey, good job ! Really enjoyed to play this game. I even finished it with my trackpad o/
Very nice, at the end you can take few minutes following the move of the mass of animals... :) Poetic and nice to watch too.

paperblurt 2013-12-16 11:14

Yet one more game, looking good as hell!

psychomonster 2013-12-16 11:20

Cool artwork. It remembers me to a game I've played a long time ago. Good job at all.

louis-denizet 2013-12-16 11:24

I hope the experience will be as good as it looks like ;)

bodsey 2013-12-16 11:33

Joli !

dustystylus 2013-12-16 11:40

What a beautiful game! Tuts could be a bit more visible, I must've missed the one about the wolf and couldn't understand what was happening. Once I figured it out, I really enjoyed it! Love flocking mechanics too! (my first LD was a flocking game)

meek 2013-12-16 11:42

Graphics and sound are absolutely solid. Very impressed with this! I find the gameplay to be a little slow, but stressful whilst also relaxing. Very good job!

alcorrius 2013-12-16 11:50

Amazing relaxing game with relaxing music)) Glowing particles are awesome. One of the best games of LD 28

windwalkerranger 2013-12-16 11:55

Very nice artwork, very nice mood. Though I played for quite some time and no ending happened? I had foxes, I had the energy bar full? Maybe I had to keep on playing but the challange stayed the same...

stephan_h 2013-12-16 11:56

Loveley presentation.
Tutorials could be a bit clearer.
Regarding the gameplay I am undecided if I could play this for longer periods of time or if it would bore me, but for the moment it was a very soothing experience.

mirroar 2013-12-16 11:57

Very nice, very athmospheric game. Clear goal, easy to play but gets a bit hectic at the end.

However, from what I can see, the music has not been created within these 48 hours, I could easily find it on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_kKFjwpwqc).

louis-denizet 2013-12-16 12:02

To windwalkerranger : the tree has to be at full size to win, each pollution reaching the tree make him decrease, that may be the reason of not winning even for long time playing :/

To Mirroar : Of course the music was not created within these 48hours, Musics are from Adrian Von Ziegler and you can see by clicking on Credits on Menu screen ^^ It's even in the game folder ;)

Thanks for playing! =)

turna 2013-12-16 12:19

Evocative and moody! I enjoy the game although have screen size problem with my laptop. Is it not auto full-screen?

louis-denizet 2013-12-16 12:23

I could have thought about that and I should have done it :/
It's 1600x1024 so must be a problem on laptops

May fix it later if more complains ^^

ydg 2013-12-16 12:24

Great art, and the music helped a lot to get the right mood. And you can have a giant army of rats by the end of the game, since they don't cost that much :D.

grambler1 2013-12-17 08:17

Really nice graphics!

redeyemaniac 2013-12-17 08:17

Can't play it on my laptop unforetunately, the resolution cuts out the HUD :/

louis-denizet 2013-12-17 08:23

Really sorry for this :/ i can fix it but would change the main link and i don't want to :(

cwkx 2013-12-17 08:42

Great work on the art and audio, and very innovative genre.

lekochen 2013-12-17 08:51

A little bit lengthy. Otherwise everything is just perfect.

josefnpat 2013-12-17 09:28

This is a fantastic game! Great atmosphere! Calming gameplay! I like this a lot! Great job!

louis-denizet 2013-12-17 10:18

Updated version for Laptops because of resolution!

ghandhi 2013-12-17 17:08

About music... You broke the solo 48h compo rule about making assets yourself.
Another thing is resolution, I have too small monitor(1280x1024) so I've played on TV. Anyways the game was nice and great. It was a pleasure to play it.

louis-denizet 2013-12-17 17:39

I'm really sorry for this, I've really no idea on how to do music :/
You may not vote for the music indeed ^^ I'm sorry about the rules, it's my first time and i've started to create games 3 months ago and had no experience untill there, will do better next time and watch more carefully rules!

Thanks for playing and sorry for the resolution, I thought I fixed the problem by updating a version for laptop computers

jan 2013-12-17 23:31

Nice game. It would have been handy to have a way to check which level the tree is currently at and how many more are needed to let it grow.

louis-denizet 2013-12-18 07:23

Thanks for the advice, I'll add a bar like the one at bottom right but way smaller to show with state the tree is currently at ;) (after ludum i mean)

udinjelek 2013-12-18 07:52

the graphic very impressed, and the music give a good mood (n_n) nice to play it :D

ocathalain 2013-12-18 08:03

Really well made! Very polished for such a short time, nice work!

cakemonitor 2013-12-18 08:19

Good job, well done. I think like some other commentrs, I missed some of the tutorial text because I was busy looking at where the clouds of pollution were coming from so I no longer had time to read. Overall a good game with a great use of the theme

nelien 2013-12-18 20:43

Good job, very polished, but the progression is a bit slow. Very solid overall though.

ghostinthesoft 2013-12-18 21:03

Un peu long mais les graphismes sont sympas et le jeu dégage une bonne ambiance

diptoman 2013-12-19 08:08

Yes, this was a great game! It was relaxing, and the graphics, gameplay and music blend together quite well to create the relaxing aesthetics. My only complaint would be that trying to click on the wolved led the animals straight to them. They got eaten most of the time. But the ending was so cool :)

brmassa 2013-12-19 08:09

very nice visuals. the pace a bit slow tough.

good entry!

mortl8324 2013-12-19 08:13

Amazing game. Everything about it was so beautiful. The music is wonderful too. It took way too long to grow the tree, but was very nice and relaxing.

mortus 2013-12-19 15:39

Very graphically pleasing game, and looks like fun to play, but it gets a little boring towards the end. I would love to see some more interaction and balance in it. I could mostly just spam first units (are they rats?) and be cool with that. But considering the time you've had on it, I think it's great! One of the most beautiful and moody games I've played this time.

maple 2013-12-19 17:26

Very nicely presented, and I liked the audio. At first, I didn't know you could kill the wolves, so they continuously came back to hunt me until I realised to click on them. Also I felt like the game progressed too slowly. Other than these things you have a nice game!

alexrose 2013-12-20 01:05

I played until the music stopped repeating!

Dunno if it was possible to win if I kept going, but I had an army of foxes and rabbits and was pretty much unstoppable anyway.

Really cool game, enjoyed it a lot. Nice one.

pele 2013-12-20 01:09

This game is awesome. Art, music and gameplay!

thewhitellama 2013-12-20 02:04

Wow, such a nice atmosphere! Really relaxing music and cute idea. I really liked it :)

moomoo112 2013-12-20 02:12

I like the hordes of furry critters at my control, nice job on this one

moosefly 2013-12-20 02:35

The idea is pretty similar to that of our game, but the execution, pacing and mood is totally different! It was a rather therapeutic experience, and certainly one of the nicest looking games so far.

It was pretty easy after I covered the whole area of the tree with rats which acted like a shied that prevented the clouds from touching the tree :P.

angelk 2013-12-20 03:46

I really enjoyed the feel of the game, urgent but relaxing at the same time, without too much going on to manage. I had trouble exiting; I played for about 20 minutes and the tree didn't seem to get bigger even though I seemed to fight off the pollution. I couldn't quit with the esc key, alt+tab or even task manager; I eventually found out it restarts if you press F2? Could you list the keys please?

tobbez 2013-12-20 11:36

I couldn't figure out any way to quit the game, tried all buttons couldn't use alt tab or task manager. It pretty much softlocked my computer. Don't do that. The game itself got boring pretty quickly. Clicking on wolves cause the animals to attack it making it eat them faster. The foxes was almost useless because of that. After something like 30 minutes of nothing happening even though no pollution reached the tree I managed to quit the game. I don't know if there is a goal at some point but the gameplay itself quickly turned uninteresting and the goal if there is one take too long to activate.

orangeez 2013-12-22 09:46

A very lovely game, but it has some balancing issues. Mice, for example, are cheapest and easiest to play with, while attempts to click wolves make faster animals rush to their certain death.

ddrkirbyisq 2013-12-24 09:21

Interesting! ^^;

jimmypaulin 2013-12-24 13:20

Absolutely beautiful experience congratulations! I loved the pace of this game - the gentle difficulty ramp, the golrious visuals and the idyllic sounds. The wolves were scary with that horrible noise when they died! I really like how you did the tips in the disappearing writing, that was a very nice touch. All in all a really interesting and memorable entry. The flocking behaviours were also great fun to watch and interact with. I love flocking behaviours and emergence, top marks

kumokairo 2013-12-24 19:42

This game is awesome! I liked it all - music, art, sounds.
At first I thought it's not possible to beat this game, but it turned out that I actually could! This is just great. All fives from me

archaeometrician 2013-12-24 23:42

Nice graphics ! Innovative idea, Great work !

gungnir 2013-12-25 16:23

Played all the way through, first time - no confusion. Great message, wonderful presentation, right on target for the theme... this is a really great piece of work. Wolves could be more threat, and I wasn't ever sure what the fire did (didn't affect my decisions much). Overall though, very cohesive. *note - I had to force windowed mode (alt+enter)to see the game

hamster_mk_4 2013-12-26 07:05

That was fantastic. The difficulty and new elements were introduced at the perfect pace. It took me a while to figure out how to spawn new critters. I encountered a bug where the game lost mouse focus and couldn't regain it. A windowed mode would have been nice, but that is a minor gripe when compared to a fantastic experience.

louis-denizet 2013-12-26 10:07

Thanks for all the comment, it really means a lot to me since I began to creat games 3 months ago and I intend to work in this domain, i'm sorry Hamster_mk_4 for fullscreen, at the beginning the game was only windowed but resolution was 1600x960 and a lot of people could not test it so I changed it to auto full size :(
Thanks again for playing!

kgs0142 2013-12-27 00:35

I love this :D
Very cute ,beautiful and enjoyable!

kirbytails7 2013-12-27 02:26

Pretty nice. Boids behavior is always nice. I couldn't figure out how to choose different animals, though.

techblogogy 2013-12-27 15:26

This game is awesome. What more can I say

ayame9joe 2013-12-30 08:54

Elegant design.

shatley123 2013-12-31 09:11

Nice!

arcticleaf 2014-01-03 12:52

awesomeee

taocayo 2014-01-04 00:00

What a beautiful game! I can see myself coming back to play it many times :) awesome job!

alexfili 2014-01-04 09:35

The graphics in this game go along well with the game's story. It's one of the most compelling RTS examples on this site. I like that each unit has their own speed and way of moving. Pathfinding seems good and the mechanics are easy to pick up but allow for advanced tactics.

There are a few areas of the game that could be improved. You have to be extremely precise with the mouse cursor in order to deal with the wolves, if you're not clicking on their exact spot then they won't be destroyed. The flames seem more like what you expect in an oil tank rupture rather than a forest fire.

Other than that, this is a brilliant game and fits the theme pretty well! Good work

steamgirl 2014-01-04 13:05

Wow, what a gorgeous game! Beautiful visuals, music, and gameplay. Gave it a 5 in most categories. Blown away!

If I had to nitpick, it would be that the stage between the rabbit and the ferret felt a bit too long. But that's nitpicking.

endesga 2014-01-05 05:58

Graphics are stellar! Very nice!

withoutpillow 2014-01-05 14:31

beautiful.

latfoued 2014-01-06 14:17

Very relaxing to play, the mood is very good along with the art and gameplay. Very good job.

sonnybone 2014-01-06 19:23

Yeah unfortunately the wonderful music contributes to the relaxing mood of the game, so the fact that you didn't follow compo rules affects more than just the audio score. For future reference, the 48 hour compo requires all assets be created within the time limit while the 72 hour jam allows for music that you did not create yourself. You could've entered this game into the jam without any issues, but it does unfortunately violate the compo rules :(

The visuals are pleasing and you used a very innovate approach to the theme. I didn't see any way to know when new animals were available except for the rabbits, though. That would be my one complain about the gameplay. I was just randomly right clicking until I was finally able to buy foxes (had nearly 2/3 of the green bar full).

jedi 2014-01-06 22:21

What SonnyBone said.

Also, the credits didn't work for me. When I clicked credits, the credits button just disappeared and an exit button replaced it.

When I first starting playing it reminded me of Flow and I thought it had a very calming feel and innovative gameplay.

The gameplay and graphics are awesome, but unfortunately it has some balancing issues. For the variety in gameplay, each "level" needs to be over much faster. Something like twice as fast at least, because as it is, the gameplay gets boring. Not in the sense that it's too easy, but in the sense that I get tired of doing nothing but leading these animals of varying speeds back and forth. If I could tell the mice to stay behind or something it would have been a more engaging mechanic.

There's little to no sense of progression. I feel like I played at least ten, maybe twenty minutes after the fox was released and then I thought "Please let it be over soon" and I just stopped playing a little after that.

Really nice game overall, too bad I never saw the end screen, even after investing so much time :/
