Cool idea but there didn't seem to be a penalty for allowing things to hit your planet. The way the physics worked was awesome though!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD23 → 3rd Planet

Sorry, couldn't test on linux. Can you provide a video for mac/linux users?
Even if I had to change computer to play this i must admit that's a nice re-interpretation of pong! :D
I'm sorry, I can't play your game because I don't have Windows (OSX).
It's a very cool concept, but it seems like the planets that you added around the earth actually hinders gameplay, as the aliens get stuck orbiting them.
The idea is good but you should have added the ability to move or something because when the ball is locked never touching a planet, it's really boring.
Plus please next time don't make the game install on the computer.
Cool concept! Music would be nice. Also, it seems that the gravitational pull from earth could be a bit stronger? Otherwise the ball just flies around for a long while as you just sit and wait. Other than that, I really like the new take on Pong! Thanks!
XNA is good, but I have Linux.
Can't play, Mac user. Looks neat though!
Nice physics. More visual and/or audio as well as a health bar, so the player gets involved. The shield protection is a bit buggy, I think.
For publishing XNA games, just copy the exe file and the content directory. Both are in your Debug-directory. Then players must not install you game, makes it easier :)
sorry mac only here
I like how it's a different experience/difficulty depending on how the planets are arranged around the 3rd planet. Some kind of scoring mechanism would be nice. It's a great concept and you could probably make a pretty fun game out of it with more development. Good job!
Even though I have XNA, I was forced to install XNA components. Can you also provide the exe/Content folder found in the project files (in Debug or x86 or bin or somewhere) next time?
Also, I could not run the game due to the graphics profile used. You can fix this by going into the project properties and changing the graphics profile from HiDef to Reach.
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I have added a no installer option and I changed the graphics profile.
Tried to run with Mono 2.8 on Linux, didn't work.
Was unable to play the no installer version. It just wouldn't start. Windows 7.
@SusanTheCat I assume you have XNA4 installed?
Cool idea, needed more to be interesting/fun though.
a nice concept, but it got tiring fairly fast since you can often end up waiting a lot of time for something to actually come your way.
No install and Reach graphics profile worked very well! Thanks.
The game seems like it could use a bit more UI, like your health. I was not sure how to kill the enemies, since they seemed to go through my shield but died anyway. I'm not sure where the ball came in.
Oooh! Fun game. Reminded me of other entry, with the same Pong premise, but with a musical twist. Yours has more "replay" value :) Good job!
I would try it if you had a Web or OSX version.
