LD22 — Alone

Dead World by Saxon Douglass 2012-01-09T11:41:00

I'd like to thank everyone who praised the audio assets, we put almost an entire day into those. I should just say that while our lyrics were mostly intended to be humourous, the Dead World Blues were also meant to have great dramatic impact, predicated on the planned but omitted feature of permadeath. I think there would have been better thematic cohesion in that version of the game. I mean, is it really Dead World in its current form? Can anyone here truly be said to have "gone and died?"

LD25 — You are the Villain

SDIORETSA by Joshua Douglass-Molloy 2012-12-19T05:22:00

As per the crash fix guidelines, I tried putting the .dlls currently provided with LOVE in the Windows archive, instead of some old, old versions. Try that.

If you're not on Windows, you'll want the LOVE2D runtime. It's a cool framework anyway.

Sim: I thought I had such a check, but that behaviour is clearly broken. Whoops.

Heist by Saxon Douglass 2013-01-03T13:38:00

I was good enough to leave Audio unrated, although unfortunately the lack of it or much context of any sort drops Mood a bit. Otherwise I was able to give average to good scores, as it was fairly engaging and looked nice. I even gave 3 stars for Humour, as the exclamation mark is a reference. I enjoy a good reference.

LD26 — Minimalism

Ball & Cup by ohsqueezy 2013-05-02T18:39:00

I'm not quite sure, which is the best fruit?

Robot Boogie by Skulls 2013-04-30T04:18:00

Audio and level design are really good. My only problem is that I didn't feel much need of my gadgets - platforming and shooting was fluid enough.

Life of Colonies by Overv 2013-04-29T16:11:00

Brilliant use of Game of Life to create an actual game. Would be mind-boggling with multiplayer.

ERASERLAND by little_polygon 2013-05-03T18:32:00

Impressive. Really cries out for touch controls.

QbQbQb by rezoner 2013-05-05T19:25:00

Incredibly polished. Not the deepest game in the compo but the best experience I've had so far.

TetraVampire by Wulo 2013-05-02T17:39:00

Cute concept, but I never found it challenging after learning the controls, except in one or two cases where TetraVampire just didn't fit through gaps nicely. If you're any good at platforming it's simple to drain one Tetromino and hurry to the next. Perhaps if enemies could retaliate or the levels included some timing challenges this would be more interesting. It's quite well polished, though, and I like the character becoming ghostly over time.

Pure Platformer by K1kk0z90 2013-05-02T18:04:00

This might be the best feeling game in the compo, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. Yes it's slippery, but it's still a pushover compared to the average NES platformer! I've seen games with more minimalist mechanics, but this gets full marks in graphics for actually making a rectangle appealing. High marks overall!

The epicly short adventure by JaJ 2013-04-29T15:56:00

Most thematic so far.

Saishou Sentou by Joshua Douglass-Molloy 2013-04-30T16:42:00

Sorry about the site going down. Here's a backup link for the executable. http://www.faithfulcorse.com/games/friends/saishou-sentou-windows.zip

Saishou Sentou by Joshua Douglass-Molloy 2013-05-02T18:32:00

A few notes:

While I didn't want it crashing after the third level, and should have it terminate properly, there is no fourth level.

The announcer says 「おめでとう」(congratulations) when you finish a level, 「残念」(Too bad) when you're caught and「おめでとうございます」(more polite congratulations) when you finish the game.

SuperlevelSebastian: I'm sorry to hear it's not working. I thought I was using x86 LOVE. I don't know what to recommend besides seeing if you can install LOVE2D yourself.

Saishou Sentou by Joshua Douglass-Molloy 2013-05-02T18:34:00

What the hey, I know I can display those characters. If that was screwed up for anyone, those words can be transliterated "omedetou", "zannen" and "omedetougozaimasu".
