Holy shit I'm sorry but this game is amazing. I was just screaming into my microphone and when I let the mouse button go I got a surprise. Well done! Very innovative!
I'm digging the difficulty - great job innovating OP, I love the cute graphics too ^^
I set up another controller to automate just so I could play this game... I wish there was a single player mode :(
This was difficult to play (not in a bad way, though!), but I tip my hat that you were able to achieve so much in just 3 days.
This game is amazingly difficult - but in a good way! I hate how they'll just fly out if you're not too careful, but other than that it's a great game. WTG OP!
I love text adventures and your humor kills it!
I second the earlier comment about having some tutorial levels to help players figure out what they're doing. Fantastic graphics and premise, the music's pretty good too!
I'm not really big on survival type games but I really enjoyed this one! I hope you keep working on it!
I think we all ran into scheduling issues of one kind or another - so don't feel bad! You guys invented a neat mechanic that totally fits with the theme of the comp, it runs and that's saying a lot for a 72 hour game!
Hahaha this is such a weird game man, but it totally fits with the theme. Lovin' it! I
Thank you for doing your lighting this way! So many made it a straight shot, having it dither off to one side or another really improves the experience and makes me want to keep exploring. Good job, creator!
I love that your main sprite looks like an incontinent grandpa - it just tops off this game for me! I hope you figure out how to implement checkpoints, it would make this game that much more replayable for sure!
Anything that makes use of time mechanics gets my vote, but you pushed the envelope on this one. Way to go buddy!
Am I seriously a bunny fighting zombies?! Lovin' it!
That furbaby has a face that only a mother could love!
Thanks for putting work into the control system! A lot of games put more work into style over substance and it's really nice to see that you didn't. Keep going buddy!
You really went the extra mile in this game! It's so great to see something like this up, for real (we can only have so many potato shooters amirite?) What engine did you use to build this?
The text gets to be a little tedious after a while, but overall you definitely achieved what you set out to do - and you added a little innovative twist of having to control both the human and the PALBOT too!
KABOOM! I love this game! You've really poured your heart(s) into it, you can tell from the art and the actual thought that went into gameplay. You could totally release this as a mobile game and I'd buy the crap out of it!
Hah this time of year I can totally relate to roach-hatred. Very neat platformer, but you may want to take a look over your code and optimize it a bit - took forever to load for me (and dropbox is pretty darn dependable!).
Your graphics are positively adorable! I am having a bit of an issue with the controls though. You should definitely keep working on this though, it has potential to be an awesome little game!
I normally don't like platformers, but I like this one. The bombers are a real terror though!
With a little polish you could make this one really sparkle ^^ Seriously though, I love the concept and the mechanics and "killing them with kindness" is one hell of an unusual weapon!
Damn, I am stuck at 30 points no matter what I do! I don't know how these people are killing it, I'm jealous ^^ Addictive fun game, you should keep working on it!
You should go a little easier on yourself, it's an LD game and it's not going to be anything close to what you wanted it to be (especially if you were the only one working on it).
That said, it's not a bad game! You may want to build it out into levels that teach the player how to play (like the first level runs for so many seconds/shots, and the player can only fire yellow blocks at a green target or w/e), gradually increasing the difficulty. If you did that and worked on it some more, you could easily sell it as a mobile game.
Good luck buddy!
Could use some love on the UI, but toher than that great game. ALSO YOU USED THAT SONG. I love you forever!
Man the sprites here remind me of Earthbound's "Stinky Ghosts" (the ones that hid in a trashcan and chased you around). Love it!
Don't feel bad for not being able to fully complete your game. Always remember that a lot of people bitched out by the first or second day, and you have something that runs. That's always a win!
(P.S. you might get more votes if you throw a web version up on your dropbox or something, a lot of people hate downloading the game I've found) Good luck!
I love the premise of this game, and with a little more work you could easily turn it into something special. The SFX do get a little annoying though :(
The style and mood of this game are so spot on! Seriously, I love the graphics. On the other hand, sometimes the controls were a little iffy (not sure if it was my controller or what). Great going!
Congrats on your first jam!
I had the controls lag a little bit (not sure if it's me or what, I've had this happen on a few games I've tested here on LD in the last couple days), and those little babies are EVIL.
I love it! Looking forward to your next LD submission!
This is a weird little game, thanks for adding the note about the goal because I had no idea wtf I was doing haha.
Side note: don't feel bad about your game. LD isn't about making a AAA product, but making something period. A lot of people didn't even finish their games, so just by having something that others can play you're ahead of the game buddy. Keep making games!
I don't even know what I just played, but goddamn that inventory system is truly something! Tackling an RPG in a month is one thing, but building one in just a few days? Crazy - crazy good! Great going guys, I hope you keep developing it!
GRANNY IS GONNA MESS YOU UP! Seriously though, the whole premise of this game is amazing. And the grandma looks like my grandma ('cept she doesn't bake pies).
I'm loving both your mechanics and those little monster noises! I blare my audio so I didn't have any trouble hearing 'em, I wish there was more dithering with the flashlight, a la minesweeper, might keep the suspense up a little bit!
You always know you're in for a fun time if you can't tell whether a game is buggy or if the game is just trying to mess with your head. That being said, well done. I love these kinds of adventure games man.
This is such a fun, strange little game. I think you could add some of the missing sound effects into the game now without suffering any kind of penalty, it'd help up the user experience factor big time!
Can you compile a webgl/html5/unity version that can be run in the browser? Your web link just takes me to an exe download page.
Haha only in Ludum Dare do we get a short little game about cows fighting off zombies with their farts. Amazing.
You keep making games buddy!
I had a lot of trouble with the jumping controls too :( On the other hand, you can tell you put a lot of love into this game man! It's just such a weird premise that totally fits with this ld's theme, loving it!
Damn this is harder than it looks. Very good use of the theme here.
"You're a little boy who seen his mother kidnapped by the superior race.
You want to find her by face the "god race".
The only way to beat them, is to go to the laboratory, which contains all the data of the city. Let's solve these puzzles, and take your revenge!"
With a story like that and graphics like these, there's a lot to love about this little game! I love the music, too!
Wow, this is a big download for not a lot of gameplay. You might want to go back through and optimize it a bit - fairly sure this would fall under the auspices of bug fixing!
Please fix the bugs, creator! I love how dreamy it looks but it's just really difficult to deal with - and the guy above is right, you're allowed to fix critical bugs like these during the judging!
Bwuahahaha! I love this! It's fucking terrible and I can't seem to win, but I keep playing. Great job man, I look forward to seeing more parody games from you in the future. (seriously. parody is your thing)
This is sick and wrong and I love it so much!
I was having trouble getting my xbox controller to work with this game (it's working with some games and not others, I think it might be a unity webplayer problem), but other than that great game!
The sound effects make playing this a little rough, but I'm really happy you tried to do something different. I love the little cat-goblin creatures. I have no idea what I'm playing but it's still fun :) Good job!
I got it to run in Chrome just fine, and I love it! It reminds me of Dope Wars from back in the day, I loved the shit out of that game.
You won't be able to skip exactly back where you were, but you should be able to pop back in the main menu to the level you were on (like administrator). If you were in a test, you'll have to do it again :( Sorry!
When the music rolls and the confetti flies, that's the end, buddy. You can keep clicking the button, but it won't do anything after that ^^
Haha it's okay, it was built in a hurry so there is definitely room for improvement! I'm glad you enjoyed it though ^^
Honestly, we ran out of time. It was me and two programmers off reddit who didn't know each other at all that formed the team at the very last second. I researched and wrote all that stuff in about 48 hours, meant to make all kinds of kickass backgrounds for it but ran out of time. One guy put the gui together in a day, both of them hauled ass making sure that all the text didn't spill out of all the boxes and we winged the ending the morning before the deadline. It was a goddamn adventure, that's for sure.
Code and socks are the weapons in this game and that's pretty unusual! Then again, maybe not - like all things it's open to interpretation. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
This is so much fun! I played it last night and forgot to rate it... but now I have a game I can't quite put down. Must... spread... it... to... others!
Don't feel bad, I think we all overshot when it came to our games. On the other hand, what you do have is quite nice! See you in four months with your next game ^^
What a fantastic game! Are there plans to continue developing it? Because there should be!
Beautiful game and the XBOX controller actually works for this :D Thanks so much!
Love this game, but you might want to add a tutorial level to help people figure out what they should be doing - and maybe grade the difficulty on a slope (seriously, this is one of the hardest LD games I've played today. good going!)
Haha the bellows killed it!
I love this! Good on you for innovating man!
This is definitely a project you should branch out on! The level design like someone further up noted is a little iffy, but I bet you can do it much more justice with more time. Great going!
I love your visuals, but I got my butt whooped. I guess my clicky fingers just weren't clicky enough!
