Thanks for all the comments! If there are some errors, they are totally unintentional. I didn't have much time to test for bugs. :'D

How does one play this? I see only the gif.
EDIT: ah, I'm such a dummy, this is a jam entry. Keep going, it looks promising!
Way too hard for me! I couldn't survive a single enemy. I liked the mood though, so I kept on with it for a while. The most frustrating part for me was that even if I knew which move I should make, my timing was always off. Either I made the move too soon and couldn't do it again in time when the strike happened, or then I was too late when I tried to make it in sync with music. Parrying was the easiest, but I mostly missed that one too because I tried to anticipate the jumps and dodges. I guess I need to git gud?
I liked the demon, it was cute and expressive, beautifully drawn! I did like the sketchy story images too, but I would've wanted them to be a tad cleaner.
UI looked original, only the font was a bit too squiggly for the Help-section, and some link positions were off. For some reason I couldn't open the menu mid-game (esc). I didn't like the pre-choice text window, the text looked too cramped there.
I'm not a fan of sudden deaths, especially if it goes to guessing which cards are the right ones, but I did stick around to finish the game once. I liked the card mechanic, too! The story was gripping, though I agree with @bentekiller, I was at times confused if the character was he or a she. Some parts of the story in the latter part of the game were hard to follow, but overall the story worked well. I liked the ending!
Clever! Didn't get to the end (got stuck at the "look at your surroundings"), but I really liked the look, and controls were easy to get used to.
