Ten-Second Taxi by schnerble 2013-08-27T02:56:00
Really hard to control the car. A way to back up would have been really helpful too. But there is always room for another crazy taxi.

Rank S: Something was wrong since the beginning of this mess, and now atleast this mess has ended once and for all. You will never take a breath of air for granted ever again.
It worked for me. Good Job
I like the idea. It is really hard to see where I am shooting though.
It works fine for me. Also Win7. Takes a second to load up but it works.
I am getting a 404 from Dropbox.
Great Job! It took a little bit for me to realize I was healing the wires. Then it all made more sense.
That was fantastic! Perfect use of the theme that all the unlucky people of the world can relate to.
I wish I could have moved in a different direction than I was shooting. But I loved everything else.
Did this bring your website down? I am getting a server not found error.
Great Job! The tutorial level is a bit difficult but I still liked it.
Cute idea. I liked the art and music a lot.
It's a cute idea. Good Job.
Interesting idea. Hard to play though. I was only able to make a few slimers.
I didn't realize Jam entries could be rated already when I put it up. I just wanted to make sure we put something up in case today didn't go as planned. We are going to add sound in a few hours.
@Zephyr89 I was going to be really disappointed if that really fixed the spider texture issue but it doesn't. (At least not in the editor). If we come across it again in the future I will make sure to keep that in mind though. Thanks.
That was cute. I do wish there was a way to get a better dive but it sounds like you didn't have much time.
Great Job. Only problem I had was that the music was a bit too loud. it was hard to hear the rotors until you were right on top of them.
Great Job. I like the enemy designs.
Side Note: Since you used Unity I would suggest making a Linux build. The Web player does not work on Linux boxes.
Liked the music but moving was unfortunate. Congrats on finishing a game though!
Good Job. It played surprisingly smooth. I like that you can apparently land on top of fire hydrants.
Great Job for first time using Unity.
Great job!
I love games like this. Great Job. I just wish that it ended a whole lot sooner.
Great Job. I loved the trail you left behind you!
Side Note: Since you used Unity I suggest making a Linux build. The Web player does not work on Linux Machines.
hehe Great Job! I think you got all of the steps down pat.
Side Note: Since you guys used Unity I would suggest exporting a Linux build too. The Web Player doesn't work on Linux Machines.
Good Job overall. It's a cute little game. I thought the Arrows were pointing to goals I wanted to hit though. They are apparently pointing towards obstacles. After I understood that it I started to at least stop losing as much points. I still managed to maintain a solid 0 score though. ><
Great Job. I love clicking games. Probably too much
Side Note: Since you used Unity I suggest making a Linux build. The Web player does not work on Linux boxes.
After dieing the third time the Game Over Screen did not show up. Great Job. It was cute.
Great Job. I liked the levels. I got a little confused when the distance marker disappeared but I figured it out. Maybe you can change it to "Close" or something if you would rather not give the distance away.
And since you used Unity I would suggest exporting a Linux build as well. The Unity Web Player does not work in Linux. Somebody pointed this out to me last Dare so I figured I would pass it along.
Great Job! One of the more unique games this Dare.
Great job with the camera! I can't place what makes it different than usual but for some reason it was just more pleasant than most.
Great Job! First really unique game I have seen so far this compo.
Great Job!
Some Unity Advice: Export a Linux build as well (at least for the Dare) since the Web player does not work on Linux boxes.
In the player settings there is a "Webplayer Template". (You should see it immediately.) One of the options is "No Context Menu" which means when you right click no menu will show up.
Great Job. all of the characters are really cute.
Side Note: Since you used Unity I would suggest exporting a Linux build. The Web player does not work on Linux machines yet.
I am getting a very strong Katamari vibe from the game and music. Great Job.
Side Note: Since you used Unity I would suggest making a Linux build. The Web Player does not work on Linux boxes.
Great Job. I am a sucker for mining games.
Great Job! I'm glad I got to see this before the end of voting.
Great job. I loved the Top Hat.
I don't know if I should rate it as if the final product was what you had intended all along because it's pretty entertaining on its own. And the music is nice.
Great Job. It is something you don't see very often.
Side Note: Since you used Unity I would suggest exporting a Linux build. The Webplayer does not work on Linux Machines.
Easy isn't very easy for me ><. Great job.
Great use of the theme.
Cute. I didn't realize that the yellow box in the top right corner was a counter though. I tried collecting it. I figured it out quick enough though.
I had a lot of trouble figuring out what to do. The first level does not start out showing the player so I didn't even know where to start the level. I also was not able to undo my path all the way to the beginning so I couldn't retry the level after testing it the first time.
But I guess for anything that sees this. When you get to the connect the dots area the character is in the bottom left corner and you can start drawing the path from there.
Rule number 1 of Game Development (for big and small projects): Your Scope is too big.
Rule number 2: You scope is too goddamn big.
I liked the art and that opening is great. But hopefully next time you aim a little lower so you can finish it.
Great job. Not my kind of game. Certainly unique in a good way though. I was a little confused by the controls initially though. I figured them out by round 10 (2 rounds in) though.
Cute game. The first level is a little confusing. I had no idea how to get home after I got the key. But I realized it was also under the bark. And since you used unity I suggest making a windows exe and/or Linux build. The Web player doesn't work on linux.
Very cute. The camera and level changes are a bit jarring though. I didn't realize what had happened when I touched the tub.
I wasn't picking up any gold either. At least I think that was the gold.
Great Job. I really got into it once I got the hang of it. I couldn't figure out how to make anybody happier though. I was only able to keep them.. not killing me angry.
Great Job. Felt a little slow. Would have been nice if the warps were slightly bigger. But I liked it overall.
Great job. This is certainly unique.
Great job. This is one of the more unique entries I have seen.
Great job. I just wish I could have held the mouse button down to shoot haha.
I liked it. A bit hard to figure out what to do. You can also export a linux version since you used Unity. I don't need it but it's a common request so I figured I would let you know.
I loved the presentation. I do wish the up arrow was also jump.
Amazing use of the theme. Definitely the most unique game I have seen so far.
This download is incredibly! slow.
I liked the idea. I'm always a fan of a good typing game. I was in the middle of a word when I won though. A little odd haha. But not a big deal.
I don't know what I just played.. But it was pretty awesome. haha
Ugh. I thought I got rid of all those. We meant to add in a sound effect or some indicator that you couldn't switch but we didn't get to it (as shown by the fact that every attack is paired with a punching sound.)
I love the idea. Seems like a nice combination of Shadow of the Colossus and Endeavor (a flash game). The only problem I had was that I couldn't jump horizontally when next to a platform. I had to run away and jump from there. I guess that is more realistic considering but a little frustrating.
Great idea. I couldn't figure out how to use magic unfortunately but this is definetily something I haven't seen before.
Great idea! When I click on an object it was moving like 3 or 4 times faster than my mouse does though. This makes it very hard to do anything unfortunately.
Great Idea. I did find an impossible maze though unfortunately.
Nice job. When I picked up what I think was poison it all slowed down a LOT. Unless it was just the number of monsters.
Why did you opt out of everything? This is fantastic and adorable.
Glad I checked back.
What is the problem exactly? I just double checked both versions and it worked as expected.
We interpreted the theme as limiting all information to one area. No levels or rooms or other zones. Just one place. It's a bit liberal I guess but it's what we went with. So... that's how it fits haha. If it isn't good enough better luck next time I guess.
This is awesome. Everything plays so smoothly. I just wish there was a way to move and spin together. I demand a third button! Haha.
I had no idea what the difference was between Z and X haha. But I made it to the door without popping!
This was very unique. Great Job! I do wish I could rotate the pods a bit. (Also one of the export options includes "no context menu" so when you right-click the menu doesn't show up. At least it used to have it.
Idle games get me every time. Looks good.
This is awesome! Stuff like this is so interesting. I just hate having to draw things for myself.
This is so cute. I had trouble not bashing into walls. Otherwise it was great! Very different.
Great Job! The beginning is just a little too fast but you get the hang of it. I really like the look and feel. Very simple and elegant.
Great Job! The art is great! I liked how you had to pay attention to what door went with each button.
I like the concept. Great job. Is there a way to actually finish the game? Or is it purely a high score based game?
Great job! Ithe last level took a little too long since the white blood cells were simply unavoidable when you got too big. But otherwise very solid idea.
Great idea. It took me a second to realize the other side of the wheel was the enemies action. But everything about this looks fantastic.
I liked it. But I don't understand why I lost. I hit as much garbage as I could and I hit every dumpster. I assumed it'd dump what was supposed to be automatically but I ended up getting fired? It is still pretty interesting.
I was not able to actually play. I just got a black screen with broken lines and occasionally some broken images. (Windows 64-bit if that helps)
Great Job! I'm not sure if I would prefer "found" locations stayed found for the whole day. I liked the idea though. Can never complain about farming games haha!
This is a very interesting idea. Great Job. I loved the look. It took me a bit to realize that going backwards meant moving into the opposite color trail.
Great Job! Hopefully you've caught the LD bug now. Glad I got to help you out a bit. It definitely brings back memories of having a tamagotchi.
I like the idea of building a castle piece by piece. Great use of the themes.
Very cute. One warped way of making a building haha.
Great Job! I loved being able to use planets to destroy other ones before they made it to Terranova.
Great Job. I like the idea of it. I kind of just ran straight through without killing anything. It was cool that each direction was a different attack.
A bit more involved than it appeared. Great Job.
Very cute. I love the character and world design.
Way to unnecessarily hard. I understand wanting to make the puzzles difficult to figure out but I couldn't even move my mouse fast enough when I knew the answer. Just giving the player a chance to set the board before the conveyors started would change the whole feel.
Great job. Loved the idea of it. I agree moving was a bit clunky but otherwise everything was pretty good.
Great Job! Very neat idea.
Great Job! This was super interesting and unique. Playing was very smooth as well. I always love making math fun.
Great job. It's interesting seeing Sign Language in a game. I can see this being an interesting way to reinforce learning the alphabet.
Cute puzzles. Took me a second to pick up. Literal shapeshifting can be fun :P
I liked your take on this. There were some minor bugs but nothing crazy. (I would fit into a box and it would eliminate others mysteriously.) Great job otherwise.
Great Job. Everything was pretty smooth. It also all looks fantastic. I got really confused when I was at 1000... whatever they were... that a "B" showed up after the number. I wondered how I made it to 1 billion things already. Other than that, I liked it. Clicker games are a certain kind of fun haha.
Very cute. I think the premise is hilarious. There were a few times where I did not transform into the thing I was directly next to though. Great Job overall.
This is cute. Who can complain about bring able to turn into a dragon.
I like the idea. Was a bit hard to figure out at first. I wish I could do something right away first rather than have to find a ninja first.
Great Job! Very cute. I like the idea of literal molding a clay ball into certain shapes. I kind of wish that you were more floaty so you could actually see the clay go through the hole rather than just run into it.
