LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Tile Flip by xevozfighter 2014-05-03T20:20:00

this kind of puzzle is really hard with this size of the board ... it could have used something that motivates the player to keep going (for example if there is more than one level something like a text saying it's only level one so he knows there are more).

Skin Deep by Martin Vilcans 2014-04-30T06:54:00

Realy nice and challenging puzzle.

Shadows Below by HeroesGrave 2014-05-03T20:00:00

hmm ... tried both SDL and GLFW version ... but sadly the distro I'm using seems not to provide the necessary libs (SDL but no SDL2 and GLFW2 but not GLFW3) ... this looks really interesting, too bad I can't get my Linux to run it :(

Shadows Below by HeroesGrave 2014-05-03T20:11:00

ok, renaming the libglfw.so provided into libglfw.so.3 did the trick.
nice game (as far as I played), especially a very consistent graphicsstyle

Super Robot Miner by neekobus 2014-04-28T10:15:00

Nice idea to use some Minesweeper mechanics.
It's just a little bit confusing, that mines in a rock won't count when it is scanned (only those of it's neigbours).

Super Robot Miner by neekobus 2014-04-30T07:12:00

They are explained, but not within the game ... I had a hard time figuring them out but then I found them hidden in the text on the first page after clicking the link to the Web-Version:
"... You can LONG CLICK where you think there is a mine to "flag" it. ... you can dig some rocks around to find hidden gems by long clicking them ..."

Snake Driller by Florent 2014-04-30T08:42:00

A really nice idea, but this game is really difficult (the controlls are giving me a really hard time and the way that messages are shown is a bit confusing ...)

The Deepest Darkest Trench by trueyomic 2014-05-04T08:42:00

One of the games where I permanently ask myself: "It's not that hard, why do I keep failing?"

But well done! (also for supporting all those platforms)

Civilisation Survival by antonijn 2014-04-28T08:03:00

tried to run this on a 64-bit linux, but the glfw in my distros package repository do not have a version recent enought to run this (libglfw.so.2 or libglfw.so.2.6 instead of libglfw.so.3)

Gold Diver by SirJson 2014-04-30T06:06:00

Had fun (dwaft fortress definition of fun ;D ) playing this.
Did any one get a score beyond one thousand and a few hundred? (an online highscore would be really nice for this kind of game)

GroundBreaker by Figglewatts 2014-04-28T09:02:00

Nice game!

Underground by f7f5 2014-05-01T17:08:00

nice game!

UnderMine by aritzh 2014-04-30T06:29:00

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no lwjgl in java.library.path
Already tried to set the java.library.path to the lwjgl.jar but didn't get this to work ... sorry :(

UnderMine by aritzh 2014-04-30T06:44:00

^^^^
sorry confused this with some other jar (from an other game) ...
tried again and only got a white screen

Mine Story by donan 2014-04-28T11:06:00

Great game!
Had to go back a few levels because I missed one nugget, but didn't know which one it was ...

Coffee Digger by jojocanard 2014-05-10T07:34:00

funny idea

unnamed game with a mole by x1212 2014-04-28T09:42:00

looks like the permissions didn't make it into the zip ... :(
Before starting you have to add the necessary permissions with chmod +x ./test.bin

unnamed game with a mole by x1212 2014-04-28T09:46:00

I should have marked the Web-Version as not recommended ...
Godot's export for HTML5 seems not to do so well for sound (there should be some for when beeing hit or eating worms, but they won't be played in the Web-Version). Also it's View is too small, health won't be shown, ...

unnamed game with a mole by x1212 2014-04-30T07:50:00

^ I didn't have any influence on that (godots exporter does this on it's own) but thanks :D
(after reading that comment and searching for emscripten I finally understand why there are logentries pointing me to .cpp files in the Web-Version)

unnamed game with a mole by x1212 2014-05-05T08:26:00

@Zer0Xol: hmm ... I don't really know why this happens ... maybe because I used a x68 instead of x64 binary? Are you on a x64 linux? Is multilib installed (that should provide support for 32bit on 64bit linux)?
I think you need the package gcc-multilib on ubuntu (but not entirely sure ...).

Snatching Invaluables Beneath the Surface by mcburrobit 2014-04-30T08:28:00

Nice Audio!
Gameplaywise it would have been nice if there were something to consider before digging a tunnel (maybe someting like already dug out tunnels allow faster movement than those you have yet to dig), but it is good as it is already.

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-04-30T09:06:00

Nice Portal-references ;)

It's An Invasion!!! by JaR_ 2014-04-30T07:06:00

Great game, just a little bit hard to controll.
A highscore would be nice.

Cognitive Dissonance by larouxn 2014-04-30T19:35:00

Wow, that evil-side is really good at typing ... or I'm really bad ...
Nice concept!

A Mole's Life by Gins 2014-04-28T11:43:00

I didn't see that message telling you about how to eat until I read the comments ... this time a rat killed me :)

Escave! by Simon@LD 2014-04-30T09:56:00

Wow ... those small ones were the most painfull ones!
Nice Game!

Elemental Serpent by Lafie 2014-04-28T07:34:00

I tested this on Linux, looks like it works fine.
Not beeing hurt by wather and lava was a bit confusing, but it might become a little to hard if they did hurt.

To Surface by NeithR 2014-05-12T07:15:00

great idea ... I guess there is no one who cannot play this :)

Maniac PengMaku!! by spotco 2014-04-30T08:18:00

Yay, I always wanted to play a game with whale-hunting pingus :D
Great audio and storytelling (I consider this growing the child thing a story).

Drilling Beneath the Surface by Chemical_Studios 2014-04-30T07:29:00

Interesting idea ... if this game would last longer and had more different obstracles (for example stones that fall down) it could become quite addictive.

Fishy Buisness by BooleanByte 2014-04-30T10:13:00

Great idea (I think depressed underwather businesspeople are quite unique;)!
But it could have used some more mechanics (maybe some condition to lose, highscore, different kinds of businesspeople, ...) to make it entertaining for a little longer ...

Hide-n-Stab by bendmorris 2014-05-01T15:23:00

funny idea!

Subocula by DrMelon 2014-04-28T07:47:00

Realy nice!
The controlls are a little bit difficult if you use a keyboard with qwertz layout ...

Elite Submarine by wilpel1234 2014-04-30T08:33:00

Really challenging ... but don't you think the gravity is a bit too strong for a game with a underwather-setting?

Walrus, Mole, Puncher by VikingWarriors 2014-04-30T08:01:00

The link to the Linux-Version is the same as the one for the Mac-Version ... any instructions on how to run this on Linux?

Walrus, Mole, Puncher by VikingWarriors 2014-05-01T15:38:00

Thanks, now it's working on Linux by typing mono MolePuncerLinux.exe into Terminal.

Very funny idea, but somehow it's really hard to hit the moles ...

Drowning in Problems by Notch 2014-04-30T07:35:00

Is there a way to get some kind of "good ending"?

Kontroise by edibletoaster 2014-04-30T07:46:00

Great ... nice audio, good graphicsstyle, controlls are working ... got shot down by disturbances ... :D

Beneath the Mushroom by Zer0XoL 2014-05-03T19:48:00

I like the idea, it's just a little hard to get what you are supposed to do in the beginning, since this is rather unique.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Cable Guy by Endurion 2014-08-26T11:23:00

nice audio and funny way to use the theme

Connecting LD30 to the Real World by Will Edwards 2014-08-28T09:16:00

great idea!

Nodes of Jucia by pirate-rob 2014-08-26T14:04:00

nice game but complicated to control with a german keyboard (z is were the y on a normal keyboards is)

Space Horror by arzi 2014-08-26T14:13:00

I don't really get what's going on or what I'm supposed to do but it's still fun somehow :D

Super Shaker X by voxel 2014-08-26T10:43:00

nice game, I like how the AI switches from getting as close as possible to running away

Portal Quest by SirJson 2014-08-26T13:19:00

nice idea, but in my case the framerate was too low, I have a hard time navigating through the levels ... I guess I will try again from an other PC

Biotope by egos 2014-08-26T12:41:00

great idea, too bad my PC seems to be unable to keep up with this, but until the framerate goes down it's lots of fun

The Veiled World by panurge 2014-08-25T13:06:00

Nice game, but a little to difficult to controll for me (too fast and bouncy).

Trading Strategy by Ramperkash 2014-08-25T13:24:00

Nice, it just took me a while to understand what the connections do.

Flicker by PapaCheech 2014-08-26T11:52:00

great game, also audio and graphics are really fitting

RGB Worlds by x1212 2014-08-25T11:23:00

Thanks for the feedback.
I wasn't sure how much to tell the player without breaking the puzzle-aspect of the game, but yeah with the markers being so small and in case of some items in a different color to what colorsetting they are in is confusing.

RGB Worlds by x1212 2014-08-26T10:27:00

hmm ... I will look into that number-key problem, that only happened to me in the web-version ...
normaly you shouldn't need the numpad, the numbers above the letters are what I used when testing but maybe the way I get the input is not correct (not platform-independent)
This will take a few hours for me as I am currently not using my development-PC and want to rate a few games first

RGB Worlds by x1212 2014-08-27T10:49:00

@ZeppelinCaptain: about the win screen, I wasn't sure at first if I should add one, but then I thought it might be more interesting if the player can continue playing arround, as at the point of winning he just finally got full controll ...

about the issues with plattforms where the number-key-input is not recognized: I'm not sure what to do about that ... I think allowing to rebind keys might be more of a new feature then a bugfix and therefore only allowed for future versions outside of the compo ... an other idea would be to add clickable buttons in the place (might also be nice for an android port), where it currently shows what colors you can controll and what colors are active but again not sure if that counts as bugfix :(

RGB Worlds by x1212 2014-08-31T11:06:00

@GameDevExtreme: what platform? Linux-users might have to set the Executable-flag for the file, and OSX ... well I never used that so I don't know what can go wrong there.

My First Public Meltdown by Piat 2014-08-26T12:21:00

really interesting concept, but sadly the game likes to 'kill' me for reasons not really explained (maybe the events don't show up ...), and beyond my controll (at least it feels that way)

Connected Worlds Defender by pcmccull 2014-08-25T13:59:00

Great game, might be usefull to know which planet can be connected to which other planet, so you can plan better from the beginning.

I FEEL IT EVERY LATE MORNING by ExtreLime 2014-08-28T09:13:00

Uhm ... not sure what happened ... death by repeatedly turning the light on and of?
interesting :D

Helps the bunny! by Namide 2014-08-26T13:37:00

very nice concept, but somehow it was too fast most of the times and very glitchy

Abstrakt by ViliX64 2014-08-25T12:44:00

Interesting interpretation of the theme, and the graphics and sound work together nicely.

RecTango by jonask 2014-09-14T14:41:00

Nice puzzles, looks and feels like an good old Gameboy-game :)

Danger Zones by skullum 2014-08-26T13:07:00

Nice concept and good job getting that much out of a buch of boxes and spheres :)

RGB by orukinawa 2014-08-26T10:51:00

Very interesting, could have used a few more levels, so I hope you will continue working on this.

Space Trader by Kyari 2014-08-26T11:41:00

great idea, only thing I really miss is a skip button for that travel-animation.
I hope you will add more stuff to the game in the future :)

Planet Warp! by QubedStudios 2014-08-26T11:29:00

interesting concept, but it's a bit hard for me to keep track of what is going on on both worlds with all the enemies running around

Trish & Trudy by katydid 2014-08-27T09:54:00

nice way to use the theme

Journey to the 5th Planet - My first Ludum Dare! by KevRevDev 2014-09-14T15:03:00

Nice plattformer, would be nice if the line that kills you when falling down too far was visible.

ScratchMaster Space Adventure Mixtape by maildaemon 2014-08-26T13:29:00

trippy ...

Galactic Empire by Stan Sypek 2014-08-26T14:48:00

Ok ... had 'GameMaker: Studio' in my Steam-Library and was able to run this game.

I think you should have added at least something to what the tutorial teaches (maybe something like this entry: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=36899 there you can switch between two states, which determines which enemies you can hit).

But at least it works and didn't have any obvious bugs which is pretty good if you are just a beginner :)

Noli by chipcaramel 2014-08-26T13:53:00

great game, high quality, looking forward to the postmortem-version :D

Icecream and World Domination by KigurumiDevs 2014-08-26T11:11:00

nice game, and having that story as intro was a good idea

Game Jam RGB by LastResortGames 2014-09-14T14:49:00

Nice idea to throw in those rpg-elements.

Space Age by john111898 2014-08-25T16:32:00

interesting but a little buggy (sometimes menues get behind other, empty menues), so I couldn't play through to the end

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Beats High Mountains Down by Galan 2015-04-23T16:38:00

Runs fine for me on Linux.
Nice idea, but there were too many instant-death situations with no proper warning or chance to react to anything ... and they always sent me back to the start ...
I guess with a little more work this would be great :)

Gapurin by Jan Marcano 2015-04-20T18:53:00

Interesting ... weird names, strange world ... but overall great quality!
I really like that there is some audio, that's something I never manage to get right with my own games ...

Running With Scissors by cubedparadox 2015-04-20T18:26:00

How do you stab your eyes? :D

A Windy Climb by sockfolder 2015-04-20T19:24:00

Nice platformer, but I encountered a few bugs like getting stuck between a wall and the floor when there is a gap ...
I like the way the different levels are connected.

Depressopia by ZYXer 2015-04-26T17:16:00

Great, I found an entry using a similar idea, but the opposite goal :D

Elem3nts by Pix3M 2015-04-22T18:59:00

Great graphics, and addicting gameplay.
Well done!

Space Boy by Hyoga-3D 2015-04-22T16:38:00

Great game, I really like that graphic-style.

Time Space Gun by Mano 2015-04-22T17:02:00

Nice puzzler, just a little short (and there aren't any clues to the last level that I'm aware of, I just beat it by accident ...)
but I know it's really hard to create these puzzles in such a short amount of time ...
Anyway I really like the idea.

The Happy One by x1212 2015-04-27T18:01:00

Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

about those weird jumping bugs: I'm not able to reproduce those on any system I ran this game on, so I probably won't be able to fix that anytime soon :(

about the slow movement: probably because I was tired and slow when I tested and balanced the physics, but I have also seen the opposite bug of that high/fast jump, in form of extremly slow walking ...

@ZYXer: I just used a good brush-preset that is available in Krita by default, then I made a paper-like background for the world with gimp by using some noise, blurring and then weak noise again.

Phantom Run by Biliogadafr 2015-04-20T19:35:00

Great game!
I attempted to build myself an army a few times but died every time ... then I just ran through dodging all the bullets to the ending :D

Mouse Escape by LD_LAN_Party 2015-04-21T15:03:00

Funny game!
The AI isn't very challenging and I also encountered that random back to menu screen, but aside from that well done :)

PoP by Monochrome Bears 2015-04-22T15:29:00

I tried to get this to run with several builds and versions of the engine, I always get this error:
ERROR: No loader found for resource: res://video/ANIME.ogv

looks to me as if you forgot to add some resources to the package ...

looking at the video I think I already played that game, but a less hyperactive version of it ;)

BeatFace In Space by DrPrettyPatty 2015-04-26T17:07:00

Great game!
The graphics and the audio work together really nice.

Jelly Fighter by ViKing Games 2015-04-22T18:32:00

Played this a little bit against myself and won! :D

The Teabaggers by leddkire 2015-04-20T18:17:00

Funny idea!
I'm not sure I completely understand that tea-changing mechanic ...

Wounded by Words by Traumendes_Madchen 2015-04-23T18:31:00

I love that there's a save button! I really like this game, but don't have time to finish it in one go right now.
Also great graphics, even with a team of artists, to get that much done in time must have been hard.

Rage the Stage by puppetmaster 2015-04-21T14:48:00

Funny idea!

Cosmo's Apprentice by Gametery 2015-04-26T17:22:00

Nice idea, but I'm having a hard time to get used to those controls ...

Protector Of The Shrine by maunovaha 2015-04-22T16:50:00

An unconventional weapon ... and the most scary in existence ...
Funny game, that sound just makes it perfect :D

The Ultimate Weapon by LuisDC 2015-04-23T18:23:00

I like the idea, but getting stuck that often and having to start over again is a little demotivating, maybe checkpoints would have helped?
Also that drawing effect is really nice :)

No More Flies by bpvelloso 2015-04-22T18:01:00

With that many flies it would be more efficient to just clean the monitor or keyboard or whatever else lures those flies ...
Nice game, but I'm not sure if the sound was great or annoying ...

Robot Downfall by Johan Blade 2015-04-23T19:08:00

Nice little plattformer!

Robot Restores Nature by shrapx 2015-04-22T17:24:00

Nice graphics, mixed with that interaction with the environment they create a great mood, I'd really like to see the game as it was planned.

Mine Defender by oscalbal 2015-04-22T15:36:00

nice graphics and mood
your linux link is the same as the windows one so I had to use wine, but it worked fine

Save The City by RudeJake 2015-04-20T18:39:00

Good job overall!
The bombs bouncing off each other makes it really hard, but I guess it wasn't designed to be played with a mouse anyway.

KittenCleanerTD by Saymon 2015-04-22T17:53:00

Interesting concept and this game has Kitten!
Well done! :D

It just is a little confusing in the beginning.

Bottom : Unconventional Weapons at bug scale by SuperUserNameMan 2015-04-21T14:29:00

Great game, just a little short if I didn't miss anything.

Also one of the few entries, that actually used godots export-function to Linux :D

Flavourish by UannaFF 2015-04-21T14:55:00

Great idea!
But sometimes it seems like the jumping does not work ...

Mega Foxy Time Trap by kivano 2015-04-21T14:39:00

Nice graphics and audio and idea and physics and ...
Well done! :)

TypeFighter by Sheepolution 2015-04-22T16:26:00

I like how everytime someone manages to interpret the theme in a way that allows to make a typing game :D
Funny idea and story!

Discharge by Frozen Fractal 2015-04-23T18:39:00

Great game!
The graphics create a very fitting mood, there just seem to be some performance problems for me ...

LD33 — You are the Monster

life was beatiful by x1212 2015-08-24T18:03:00

Ok, tried this on my Windows 7 and it looks like only the 64-Bit release in the link with new versions works ... not sure why yet ... everything worked fine in wine ...

Kaiju Simulator by martymon 2015-08-26T14:30:00

Well done!
I've seen a lot of games using that idea in this ld, but this one realized it in a very funny way.
I just love what it looks like to walk forward while aiming backward xD

Operation Cookie Monster by Crazy046 2015-08-24T16:43:00

I like the use of the theme and the soundtrack for this one!
It's just a little hard since the controlls/physics seem to glitch whenever I have to be precise ...

Kraken Rampage by randyyaj 2015-08-25T14:31:00

Nice graphics!
Would be interresting to see what you planned for the end.

YOU are the monster... not ME! by leddkire 2015-08-24T16:05:00

Interesting idea, a few more levels or types of enemies/monsters would have been nice.
It's just a little annoying when the enemies and monsters get stuck circling around each other ignoring the player ...

Beware the Experiment by Wevel 2015-09-13T10:36:00

Funny game, the controls didn't work well for me but that might just be a problem with my Keyboard/Mouse. Somehow it got more and more difficult to destroy houses ...

Detonate by AdenMansonGames 2015-09-13T10:45:00

Nice physics and use of the theme!

Scream Hunter by puppetmaster 2015-08-25T15:00:00

Fits the theme perfectly!

Downtown Devourer by PaperboxStudios 2015-08-26T20:38:00

awesome game and awesome sound good work i like it, only thing its a bit hard to understand why i cant eat human sometimes

Fear me by joe 2015-08-24T16:18:00

Nice idea, and use of the theme!

Slavery Simulator 2015 by Sébastien Bernery 2015-08-26T21:47:00

best game i played this ludum dare untile now, awesome game, very addictive very good interpretation of the theme. I think there are only 2 things that only could be at all improved, its nearly perfect (graphics, but yeahh a compo entry so very good work) sound i wished more alternating, but the actual soundtrack is awesome and very fitting for the game theme(but i played more then a hour) so i think the nearly perfect compo entry

Slavery Simulator 2015 by Sébastien Bernery 2015-08-26T22:08:00

who can beat my highscore? 128298.18248682964 in 574.096 month :-)

Mike The Mediocre Meteor by peecestudios 2015-08-25T15:25:00

Nice little game.

The Linux-Zip seems to be a little small for a game made with godot, so I guess it can't be extracted because it's incomplete (the zip-file).
However, I was still able to run the Windows one with wine.

Mr. Legs by alex bergin 2015-08-26T20:13:00

very funny game, i like it, but i have to train more for the control. Overall very funny thank you for this laugher

Nice little game, but a little short.

Emm... Boo! by Ulukai 2015-08-24T16:30:00

Nice idea!
When playing the tutorial it works fine, but in the real game it seems that every time I get in range to scare someone I get noticed at the exact same time :(

no hope by sergicollado 2015-08-24T15:48:00

Great graphics and audio!
A few hints about what you are supposed to do would have been nice, but it's possible to figure that out on your own.

Great graphics and fun gameplay!

LD37 — One room

Last in Time by lonesurvivor 2016-12-14T17:20:00

Well done!
I really liked the storytelling and art style.
The only thing missing in my opinion is a little more rewarding ending, that tells you at least a little more about what all of this was about.
Also some of the puzzles could have either used some kind of hint to their solution or you could have left out stuff that results in the player following the wrong lead (at least I think that there was one item that's completely useless and gives you the wrong idea about a puzzles solution ...).
But in the end the game is a great entry as it is already.

Ramenfly by Avocadosan 2016-12-12T08:54:00

Well done!
The sounds create an interesting mood!
I just struggled a little with the games window getting out of focus when I tried to hit flies that where close to the windows border.
Btw. this game also runs well on Linux (tested by renaming the *.exe to data.pck and running a Linux version of Godot from the same directory) so it should be easy to also create and provide a Linux export of your game.

Exit The Room Update 1.1 by Artsicle 2016-12-13T15:29:00

Interesting idea.
I feel like there should have been a few more games and maybe some kind of order to unlock to them to give the player some kind of "progress".

Poopy R**mba by Moritz 2016-12-13T15:42:00

I need to show this to the other members of our team! There was a robot like at the place we used to work on the game. Luckily it wasn't active at the time ... :D

Great Graphics!
Also the mechanics and puzzles work really well.

Psy Room by depression 2016-12-16T18:39:00

The art is well made and the way of story-telling really interesting.
There is just the problem that even though I encountered two endings each two times and I think I know what causes them to trigger, I don't understand them or why what I did would trigger them. (why does going left first, then right make such a difference to first going right then left?)
(also it's a little short, but creating art that good requires time, so that's not really an issue)
Otherwise very well done!

Police Interrogation Simulator 2017 by interfect 2016-12-12T11:05:00

... I'm not quite sure what to think about this game ... but I'm not sure if it might just be me missing something ...

About the web-export: I have similar issues with some sounds not playing in the web-version, so I guess there's something broken in Godot's HTML5-export template :(

The Last Trip to Riverside by ZYXer 2016-12-16T18:17:00

Interesting use of the theme.
The graphics are pretty good and generate a mood that fits the story very well.

I think the game just has a little bit of trouble when it comes to communicating the progress made to the player, since at least as far as I got the whole way looked and felt the same. To me it was pretty demotivating that all I saw was the loss of resources that were hard to get without loosing health and risking having to start all over again. And even if you had them, sometimes there are just too many enemies around, so you can't even use them ...

Escape the Room by CoderDozer 2016-12-14T18:08:00

Hm ... this is a difficult one ...
It feels like it would have been pretty good with a little more finetuning ... but as it is it was really frustrating ...

The problems came mostly down to:
- everything being way to fast when the character was not standing on the ground
- no cooldown before respawn (is a big problem where there are enemies right next to the checkpoint, which lead to me not beeing fast enough to release the walking button upon death, running immediately into the enemy next to the checkpoint, still beeing confused what just happened continuing to press the button walking into the enemy again ...)
- not beeing able to tell what just killed you (mostly due to the insane speed, maybe sometimes also because of unintuitive hitboxes)
- evil placement of enemies/traps (having something slow you down while something else requires you to act quickly, for example there was a spot where I had to wait for an elevator, with a pendulum right next to it)

Some of this wouldn't be as much of a problem, if you could have a look ahead from a safe spot and plan for it, but as it is, even if you know the placement of things that can kill you the viewing distance is just too short to see it coming and react to it in time)
Also all of this combined with limited amount of respawns ...

Anyway I think it's still pretty good for your first attempt using a new engine, especially one that doesn't have all that many tutorials. (regarding this: when I began using godot some of my attempts at making games with the built-in-physics failed because I didn't quite understand what _process and _fixed_process are there for, so maybe that has something to do with the physics problems in your game?)

Linux version works fine for me.

Crazy Factory by x1212 2016-12-14T09:03:00

Thanks for all your awesome comments, love them, thats why i like ludum dare!

@leddkire can you tell me more about the setup you use(browser and system) as KJB... already said there a two fullscreen buttons, because the window size of the game does't fit the max size of ludumdare. Can you tell me if its there when you click on the web link, also there should be only one fullscreen button.

@KJB of IBwWG yes gamedesign, is a bit a problem time ran away and we had to look to get even something gameable. The triangle on top of the machines show the direction of out and input, big side is input, peak is output. If something wrong or in the wrong direction gets into the machine the machine goes defective and dissapears

@caranha thanks for your feedback. yes we know our issues. in the end we were glad actually having a game and point counter, we did this in the last minutes, so game design and understanding for the players came a bit short. The video idea is nice, maybe i will do this in the next days. thanks for your comment an voting

AirportSecurity by Luminar_ 2016-12-16T19:19:00

Wow ... for a first game this is pretty well made!
I like that it's so easy to get into and somehow manages to have so much replay-ability.
It's probably because it's so short and simple, that it doesn't hurt to play just an other round to see if you can get just one more passenger done than the last time.

Endless by Crazy046 2016-12-12T12:07:00

Well done!
Quite a lot of different mechanics for a "simplified" game!

Neo Spiritu by Anti 2016-12-12T11:14:00

Graphics, Sound and Game-mechanics work really well together in this game, good job!

Colorado Steve by waylon531 2016-12-16T19:07:00

Nice to see another game using the 3D part of godot :)
It's just a little to difficult for me ... I just can't get past some places where there is just a pretty narrow path without falling and getting stuck until that wall of death kills me :(

Room & Gloom by batmanasb 2016-12-16T20:13:00

Nice one!
Works well and has a nice mood (probably because the audio fits so well to the minimalistic graphics style).

52-Card Pickup 2000 by KJB of IBwWG 2016-12-12T11:37:00

Somehow it feels like the random(?) positions of the cards are a little to random and you can hardly see them sometimes, but it still works somehow.
At least it looks like you got all the games most important mechanics to work reliably. When I created my entry, I spent most of my time struggling with godot's 3D physics and it wasn't even my first game in godot in 3D ...

Pico Factory by caranha 2016-12-12T18:07:00

Great game!
I had a few problems remembering the controlls but overall it works really well.
I just love how it's nearly the same basic idea as we used for our entry, but with much better gameplay.

Bad Dreams by Sun-Wukong 2016-12-13T16:39:00

I like that the game does most of the aiming for you.
But somehow it still manages to get pretty hard later on ... it could have used a retry level mechanic, so you don't have to start all over again if you fail ...
I already got all the walls up and even the bed, but then I was overrun by more of these black things than I could handle.

Chamber Designer by Palys Plays 2016-12-14T18:25:00

Wow, this one is really interesting!
The graphics fit very well and the mechanics are challenging, yet reliable and simple at the same time.

Feeldizzy by picxinet 2016-12-12T10:54:00

Nice little game.
All this turning around is really disorienting and confusing, but since that's the challenge so it somehow works really well!

LD38 — A Small World

RocketFlee by sebbernery 2017-05-07T09:26:49Z

Took me some time to figure out that the defenses weren't automatic and I had to both build everything and manually defend it, but after figuring that out I was able to beat the game. Other than that it was pretty self explanatory.

Bad Panda 2 by Pandakipu 2017-05-07T12:32:10Z

Funny game, the physics could use some polishing though. I think it's probably just the hitboxes being to big, I often wondered why I had to start all over when I had not seen anything hitting me ...

Other than that, I think the sounds and graphics fit to the game very well.

Memory:Leak by Alex Lutay 2017-05-07T10:59:35Z

Great game!

The graphics and sound fit very well, the mechanics are interesting and the increasing difficulty keeps them interesting. A setting for slowing the game down would have been nice, but maybe that would take the challenge away ...

Ant Hill by CowThing 2017-05-06T13:22:15Z

Nice graphics and sound! Looks like we had similar ideas, but you managed to got it done with much better gameplay. The controlls were the only problem I encountered, I wasn't allwas sure if the Ants really were going to do what I thought I had told them to do ...

Little Fortune Planet by Flaterectomy 2017-05-07T12:22:11Z

One of my favorites so far!

Lots of funny insanity, nice graphics and sounds, even doing random stuff will somehow get you somewhere until you understand at least part of what's going on.

So far every play through resulted in the planet being just a ball of water with dolphins swimming around.

Only thing that I think is missing is a way to dispose of cards you don't want.

LOST PLANET(oid) by mrnyarlathotep 2017-05-06T13:09:49Z

Nice! Only had some issues due to the long cooldown for shooting and sometimes nearly getting stuck on the edges between two parts of the map and then having to blindly walking random directions hoping to get back ... Also: is that losing the no claim bonus thing at the supposed to mean something / are there other endings?

Nuclear Treehouse by batmanasb 2017-05-07T07:20:45Z

Not exactly my cup of tea but seems to be working well. The mechanics are easy to understand and there is still challenge and variation to keep it interesting. Also very interesting effect to get those "3D" walls.

Snake On A Plane by spacedoubt 2017-05-06T10:29:44Z

Nice idea, and even though the camera makes it a little hard to play it still works pretty well.

It's a Small World - face-blindness simulator by Andrea 2017-05-07T15:51:38Z

Very interesting concept!

Some indicator of how much time is left for a day would be nice though, at some point I just stopped playing because I didn't know how much longer it would take to complete that first day (or if a bug had stopped the game from switching to the next one ...).

Also I like how you seem to have included some details that give this "simulator" some more depth like how it seems like you can to a certain degree rely on the others to greet you first (or maybe it was just luck), like someone in this condition in real life might have to.

Neon Genesis Pluto by Avocadosan 2017-05-06T11:05:37Z

Nice work on the graphics and sound! I only think it's a little difficult in the beginning to tell what you are supposed to crash into and what you are supposed to avoid, also I think some relatively fast moving things didn't have enough contrast to the background, but that's no big deal.

A Game with Bees by x1212 2017-05-06T11:18:03Z

@mrnyarlathotep: Thanks for the feedback!

I think I did a really bad job at making things intuitive ... basically how it works is:

the left assignment is the one where the bees feed, so you can get more of them, but if you don't have enough food/honey, then they will starve.

The ones on the right are guarding and also consume some food and will starve if there isn't enough. The ones in the middle are gathering and instead of consuming they will give you more food and materials to upgrade.

The wasps are more of an event that shows up where you can see the next weather changes, once their countdown is complete, you either have enough guards not to lose anything, or you lose some bees and honey.

Those flickering sprites are probably some bug due to me spawning the bees first and then moving them to their assignment and the engine doing some kind or interpolation of the position maybe ...

A Game with Bees by x1212 2017-05-07T15:26:22Z

@daanvanyperen, @smiling-cat-entertainment: I wish I could give extra  for your comments.

While I figured that there were issues when it comes to communicating what is happening and balancing everything, I do have trouble pinpointing where exactly the problems come from and what should be changed to avoid them. I hope I will find the time to fix them at some point.

Also thanks to everyone else who left comments here. All this helpful feedback is what I like so much about ludum dare.

A Game with Bees by x1212 2017-05-11T14:27:17Z

@acotis That's weird ... Chromium on Linux was what I used for testing the Web version ...

la petite isle by ramza 2017-05-06T12:32:04Z

Nice idea!

The only thing I found a little frustrating was the fishing, all other resources can be found relatively reliably but the fishes disappearing made them more difficult to get (especially annoying when you where already fishing and then they disappeared).

Maybe the prices should have had different amounts from each resource in them?

The Bugs World by gagapete 2017-05-07T09:04:47Z

Interesting concept, my only complain would be that it is hard to control your bugs and some sounds would have been nice too. Other than that good job!

The Bugs World by gagapete 2017-05-09T15:15:04Z

@gagapete I guess it mostly comes down to what others stated about missing feedback, about which bugs are selected. Also it didn't feel like I could do much about whether they would go somewhere as one big group or one by one (which seems to be bad when rushing the other bugs ...). The rest is probably just the fault of me being slow and the game being slightly faster than me ...

Flurpies by Gumboot 2017-05-07T11:18:41Z

Great idea, just a little sad that you can skip caring for your flurpie entirely if you just go adventuring to get through the evolutions.

Other than that great grapics and sound and also a lot of things to do to keep things interesting.

HOUSES by noio 2017-05-10T18:00:49Z

Very interesting, but while the rules are explained, I had some trouble finding out, what the goal was.

Other than that well done!

The graphics and the interface work well, the sound gives some nice feedback in addition to animations.

When Resizing by pinneh 2017-05-10T16:30:52Z

The idea is great, but the games controls just don't feel right.

Part of this is probably due to the jump not being as high as one would expect and the other is that that you cannot see far enough ahead and have to do a lot of guessing where the next platform to land on might be instead of solving puzzles or doing some more precise platforming.

I would really like to see this games ideas and concepts in a more refined version as they seem to be very interesting but I couldn't even get through the first level ...

AXL-5 by PUARSLIBURF 2017-05-10T16:49:44Z

Really well made platformer!

It felt pretty hard at times, but not unfair and not like it was the games fault when you are losing. Some parts are a little hard to look at, as in due to a lot of movement going on (mostly with colors that draw in the eyes more than the colors of the players character) it was difficult to focus on your character.

The physics work really well, I didn't encounter any situation where I felt like I didn't have full control over the player characters movements.

Tiny Hero by arch-a-type 2017-05-07T09:52:24Z

Very interesting idea!

I really like how there are mechanics from different types of rpg and strategy games are mixed into something new.

Grink by zymurg 2017-05-07T11:51:53Z

Seems to work well for a first game, but there is hardly anything to do and it doesn't feel complete ... Looks like you can't even get destroyed by what seems to be enemies (or is that a bug?). However the graphics while simple work pretty well, you can easily get what's going on, and there are none that don't fit the rest.

A I R by NykolaR 2017-05-07T09:40:23Z

The graphics and sound create a great mood and the concept is very interesting. I just had problems getting behind what I'm supposed to do probably because I found a lot of things disorienting (for example how it seems to be on the inside of the planet and somehow I just couldn't figure out the controls completely ...)

The Final Earth by Florian van Strien 2017-05-10T17:46:10Z

One of my favorites so far!

Very polished, everything is well balanced, lots of details, only thing that is kind of missing is some sounds.

I like how much is going on when those people go around, do their jobs and more.

Something about rockets that shrink planets! by atomicptr 2017-05-06T10:49:33Z

Works pretty well, the enemies and powerups seem to be well balanced.

FUEL by KCreanor 2017-05-07T08:17:23Z

Great game!

The graphics and sound work well together, the levels design lets you get introduced to the games mechanics one step at a time, there is always some challenge due to the time limit.

Sometimes I wished I could have used the keyboard instead of the mouse, because I'm not used to be very precise with the mouse ... but that's just my lack of skill.

Arry World by willowblade 2017-05-07T08:04:13Z

Good job with the graphics and sound!

Not sure if it was me being tired or the puzzles being hard but it feels like they took me way longer to figure out than they should have ...

Edit:

I think now I know what made them so difficult for me, I haven't encountered many games where characters turn into items without some kind of hint that this is a thing ... so I just wondered why I could no longer talk to them until I accidentally used the item button close to them.

TUNNELHELP by picxinet 2017-05-07T10:16:48Z

Great idea! To me it was just very difficult to see which citytiles connect to which undergroundtile (maybe having the cursor and doors also visible above ground would help?).

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Majestyland by IgorsGames 2017-12-10T07:53:11Z

Nice graphics and audio. The only problem I have with it are the controlls, as it seems you never can be sure that none of your dwarves get stuck or just keep standing next to an enemy instead of running or attacking ... Other than that very well done!

Bit Swapper by Galan 2017-12-17T09:33:18Z

Nice idea, too bad I can't try the 2 Player mode as that's the way it's meant to be played :(

Tempus Fugit by Elmeri 2017-12-10T08:16:33Z

Very interesting! The mechanics work pretty well, only walljumping sometimes doesn't feel right. It is really hard to find the theme in there ... I guess the world getting more and more purple, the more you rewind time was meant to be things getting worse the more time you get? Other than that good job!

CircleSave by Scayze 2017-12-17T09:41:41Z

Good idea, but the game just has a few issues in the current state. For example it seemed to sometimes put me in the next level after retrying and it's way to easy to get stuck on walls ... this is one of those games where I think using buttons to control it would have made it a lot more enjoyable as those should add a lot of precision.

Wrecking Ball Princess by radmars 2017-12-18T04:43:15Z

Really funny idea! During my second try it seems it didn't count any hits so the wrecking ball grew beyond the borders of the screen making the game play itself for me by adding enemies to the score as soon as they were spawning :D

The 800 Page Hedgehog and Bunny Epic by miziziziz 2017-12-10T08:38:49Z

Nice use of the theme! But to me Level 3 was the limit as well.

Bring Your Own Bullets by AlexHoratio 2017-12-09T12:43:07Z

Very interesting idea! I just feel that the aiming minigame interupts the games flow a little too much, it somehow feels like playing two different games and not having enough time to adjust to them when it switches between them. Maybe having a more smooth transition between them to be able to prepare to what is about to happen would help?

MOAR ENGINES by batmanasb 2017-12-17T10:10:54Z

Nice! One of my favorite entries so far!

I was really surprised at how well the controls work, (also how the additional engines didn't make things as much worse as I expected them to :p ). Also all the things (audio, graphics, etc. ...) fit together so well ... I mean on their own or rather in slightly different games I probably wouldn't like them as much but here it somehow just works.

Smartphone Nightmare by gdquest 2017-12-17T08:05:12Z

This is one of the reasons I hate smartphones made into a game :D Nice use of the theme! But it really is hard to play with a mouse.

Radiant Barrels by x1212 2017-12-09T20:19:45Z

Thanks for the feedback :)

@joror: yes, it's way easier than I planned it to be, the "AI" I made is just horrible :p the camera was supposed to make the game feel like one of those old isometric 3D ones but I didn't get the perspective right ...

@willowblade: Thanks a lot, I made quite a lot of mistakes when creating this landing page and while I did realize that I hadn't got it right, I wasn't quite able to put my finger on what exactly was wrong with it. The thing about the Return/Enter key: actually all keys that by default are used as ui_accept by godot should work, but I forgot to mention that you have to keep holding the button and well I didn't get to add an animation in time, so you could see what is happening.

@nnnikki: that's weird, what version on what platform?

About an web export, I will look into it but last time I tried, there were some issues with missing materials/textures ...

Bike Delivery by Tiago Ferreira 2017-12-10T08:58:45Z

Good idea, but am I really supposed to be able to drive through buildings? :D

Kalyuka by soyrandom 2017-12-17T09:57:59Z

Good job!

A few things that could be improved would be the feedback when your character gets hurt and how enemies spawn (sometimes they spawned out of nowhere or even exactly where I was standing).

Pride and Accomplishment by Herrybiscuit 2017-12-09T13:07:08Z

Nice mix of a Tower Defense and an Action game. I think it could need some work on the UI so you are more easily able to tell what exactly you are upgrading and feedback in general (somehow it seems the men in suits are invincible for some time before your defenses can touch them, or is the damage just not displayed until their health drops below a certain level?). I'd be really interested in a more polished Post-LD version of this.

Spatium Calorem by AdroitConceptions 2017-12-17T08:35:21Z

Simple but enjoyable! Usually this type of game is frustratingly hard to play, but this one seems to have a better difficulty curve for slower players like me :)

Tendril by NykolaR 2017-12-17T08:51:12Z

Really interesting concept, and nice audio! It's just a little hard to understand, what the player is supposed to do. If you somehow manage to lower the difficulty at the start of the game and add some small in game hints/guides/whatever, I think it would be a lot easier to learn.

SquidBoy & StarFace by willowblade 2017-12-09T13:39:25Z

Way to hard for me (even on easy) but fun none the less! But I still think it's a little too easy to cheat around the concept of harder because two ships by having them in one place and maneuver both in the same directions at all times. Maybe giving them slightly different velocity or making them slowly drift apart would help against that? Anyway good job!

Get Out - LD40 by lcrabbit 2017-12-09T13:21:46Z

Really nice game! Good use of the theme and nice graphics and sounds. The only thing I am kind of missing is some motivation for the player to even take those coins with them.

Grooblins! by ahintoflime 2017-12-17T10:38:21Z

Great idea! The game is just a little short and could have communicated better what's going on or what certain actions are good for. But other than that good job!

Heavy Hearts by Badly Drawn Rod 2017-12-10T07:38:18Z

Well done! The art style is very consistent, the audio fits the game perfectly and the mechanics work fine as well. So far the first game I found that I feel is a little too easy but I guess if there were a few more levels and enemies, it would be pretty challenging.

I'm not here by Jiri Hysek 2017-12-10T08:30:17Z

I really like these puzzle mechanics!

You always have to think about where to lure the guards and which coins to take first to be able to get out. I just could have used some kind of map or zoom out feature, so planning ahead is a little easier.

Escape Infection! by 11tomi12 2017-12-17T08:18:40Z

Interesting use of the theme! The random spawning of new viruses and antibodies makes sure you don't just keep running and circles and keeps things interesting. The only problem to me was that the controls feel a little too slow or not precise enough. I think optional keyboard controls would have helped. (Or maybe that was just due to me playing the web version?)

BaBaDungeon by PanPan 2017-12-17T09:13:16Z

Despite beeing a little hard to understand at first (what does each trap do, how strong are the different types of enemies, how much health have they left ...) it's quite enjoyable once you figured out how to survive the first wave. It does get a little to easy from there and the additional diamonds don't seem to make all that much of a difference in the current state but I'm pretty sure it can be fixed with just a little more work on the balance and information given to the player.

Team M-n-M Presents > Tank Troubles by Sparks 2017-12-10T09:07:36Z

Simple yet fun idea! Only problem I had was that the camera perspective made it a little hard to see what's going on at times.
