Fits the theme perfectly!

So fun game!

aglavra 2015-08-30 00:28

I really liked the game. The graphics have solid style, I especially liked, how the monster moves.

tonny_elhond 2015-08-30 01:32

Awesome art and nice concept! The presentation of the game is great and the mechanics are fluid. But, unfortunaly, I didn't understand how to scare people

lukbebalduke 2015-08-30 04:21

Cool game! It's all about challenge my own patience. I also liked those "bump effects" in the buttons and the way you did the art style. The sounds were also very good.
Nice entry =)
Congrats.

Great concept, and hiding under the bed to jump out and scare was a great implementation of a classic horror trope. Having to start over each time was a bit punishing, especially since once you figure it out it's just a matter of waiting. I really like the graphics though, it looked like the monster was snapping his fingers as he walked, which made the victory walk rather amusing.

I really like the concept of this game, and the art/music create the perfect mood, fitting the theme.

Fun gameplay, the graphics are also awesome. Good job :)

jacob123 2015-08-30 23:46

I found the game pretty darn difficult. Pretty good though!

xanjos 2015-08-31 17:25

Stealth elements are pretty unforgiving (it's like they have eyes in the back of their heads) but I love the dynamic lighting in this entry.

puppetmaster 2015-08-31 17:58

Thank you so much for you comments, cool you like the game.

@Jacob123 and @Xanjos It seems hard because the last door always wake up the sleeping resident (except the first house). Make noise in another room and try to past him.

@Empyrealhell We will save the finished houses in the upcoming post jam version.

inbetweengames 2015-09-01 20:46

I liked the concept of scaring people in their houses while they are asleep but still having to hide.
It seems to me that you could have done without the campaign map really, at least I didn't far enough to the point where it would have been meaningful. Probably would have been better to just focus all your development time on the scare in the house part which is where all the fun is anyway. Couldn't figure out how to get past the last door in the second house but had fun trying! :)

Enjoyed it. A little tricky at first to figure out but i got the hang of it after a few tries.. =P.

Cool sounds and interesting game design. Nice game.

Cool sounds and interesting game design. Nice game. Thank you for the 32 version.

andybrown 2015-09-02 21:34

I enjoyed the mechanics, but I ended up pretty bad at the game. Didn't understand what the noise meter was for since the resident kept waking up and coming over to me every room I moved into in the second house I entered despite keeping noise low. Still, fun entry with great graphical and musical assets!

Fantastic game! Definitely one of the most innovative games I've seen so far!

Didn't really like the art direction that much I have to say. Not really a fan of pixel art at different resolutions mixed with high-res fonts and particle/light-effects, but it was at least well executed, despite not being of my personal liking.

I definitely had fun playing this game, so kudos to the whole team! I liked this game a lot :)

drauthius 2015-09-03 18:16

Nice job.

Wow, this game is probably my favourite now! Amazing idea, brilliant audio and ... Everything cool :D (sorry for that feedback, but i am really speechless.

rodobodolfo 2015-09-04 23:56

Wow, really solid entry, sound, art and gameplay are awesome! +1 for Godot engine!

nihilaleph 2015-09-06 01:51

Great concept! Loved the mood, animation, light effect and audio! Though the screaming effects were just in the left ear >.< The mechanics were very creative but a bit annoying to wait just to go upstairs xp Anyway congratz!

hotboxgames 2015-09-07 16:41

Interesting game! Reminds me of that Monsters Inc film ^_^
Although I got stuck under a bed in the second house and couldn't get out.

lolshouse 2015-09-09 12:33

Faithful rendition of Monsters Inc.

antisc2 2015-09-12 21:47

Awesome art and idea! The game was extremly fun to play!

wertle 2015-09-12 21:51

I really liked the visuals with the 2D lighting (is that a godot engine thing?) and the effect for hiding behind things read really well. There was some confusion over when I had actually succeeded, because the counter didn't go up and nothing happened visually other than you walking out the door, so I wasn't sure if I actually did what I was supposed to do or not. It wasn't entirely clear when I would get caught by the resident, like if I just had to be in the same room as him or if it was the boundaries of the light, etc. At first I was flustered that I couldn't tell if a bed was occupied, but then when I figured out that a big part of the game is luring people out of bed to even tell where they are, I thought it made a lot more sense. It was a little confusing that you were trying to wake them up to scare them, but waking them up in another way put you in danger, just kind of fuzzy narrative logic that took a bit for me to understand. Nice work!

I accidentally muted the sound while playing, and that's why I was unable to get the rules at first. But later I understood how to frighten properly.

Here's the video of me playing:https://youtu.be/BtVCl5-xRYo
