Tried to play, but like soulrot, only got an empty HTML-document from dropbox.

Dropbox returns a 404 for the link.
For some reason just plain crashes with a Buffer overfloe exception in the AdvSound.mfx module on my machine. Looks great, though.
Awesome game, and neat idea, definitely one of my favorites thus far.
So sorry about that, almightyzentaco. :(
If at all possible, I'd love to get some specs from you. Mainly the version and bit flavor (32/64) of both your operating system and installed JRE.
I'll definitely do everything I can to get the game running on all systems that meet the minimum requirements (OpenGL 2.0 and Java 1.7).
I would love to see some more work go into this, there seems to be a lot of unrealized ideas that would make the game more of a cohesive experience
One of the best, if not THE best ostrich simulator I've ever seen.
The color palette really appeals to me. The look of the game in general is really nice. Kudos!
I love the graphics!
Awesome controls, one of my favorite games in the jam by far!
Sometimes sprites flickered in and out, but otherwise a really awesome game. Adored the little cut-scenes, and the art style is absolutely lovely. Awesome job!
like you said it doesn't really fit the theme, but it's a fun game regardless.
Easily the most unique idea I've come across this far, kudos! Expand this thina a pinch and maybe up the resolution a bit and I could easily see myself paying good money for this.
very interesting concept, I would love to see this game get some graphical polish, I'd happily pay good money for something like that.
gameplay is absolutely spectacular, kudos!
Really fun tiny game. My only problem was that it was, well.. tiny on my monitor, had to resort to the magnifier ease-of-use tool :)
The game controls well and looks nice, but didn't really tie in to the theme apart from the name. But it was fun, reminded me of Riochet and Geometry Wars!
very innovative concept.
Nice, if a bit short. Some bugs with horizontal movement (the screen shake effect sometimes seems to zero vertical momentum mid-air, colliding against moving platform freezes the player and the platform in place) and the reset key didn't always work reliably. But none really affected the gameplay, apart from the second-to-last screen.
But all in all very nice! Kudos and congratulations!
some of the text is hard to read, but an interesting concept, kudos!
Really nice game. I also died a few times before figuring out the darker bricks kill you. It could really benefit from adding a time constraint. As it stands, the best way to get the highest score possible, is to play REALLY carefully and just drill every block that doesn't hurt, which boils the game down to color matching. Adding a timer would force the player to make quick decisions and plan paths to get the most amount of good blocks in the least amount of time.
Anyway, REALLY nice!
With an otherwise finished visual style, the stretched textures really stick out. I also didn't feel like I knew what I was doing, it seemed that I just randomly blew up. Other than that, a very solid game, could easily see this for sale on mobile platforms with just a little bit of polish.
@davidB, no worries; Chrome displays a "virus alert" (what it actually says is that the file is not well known and MIGHT be dangerous) for any while that has only been downloaded by a small number of Chrome users, ie. any very new file or any file only interesting to a small minority of Chrome users.
That logo is dope.
The idea is awesome! I would love to see this polished into a final product, would definitely pay for a game with this concept!
Reminds me of Taito in their hayday. I would pay money for this. Make more levels and release this for $4.99 and I'll buy it the second it comes out. Easily the best game I've played in the jam thus far.
very good bullet hell, like the patterns.
I especially loved the sound effects, well done!
Surprisingly many rythm games this time around. This is definitely one of the more interesting ones, kudos!
That hot cyan burned my retinas. Java entries are always nice to see.
Glad I checked the game out, I thought from the thumbnail that this is an occulus rift game :D
Reminded me of an old schoolyard game from my childhood. Really nice and fun game, kudos.
Yeah, I unfortunately couldn't test the Linux and Mac nekoVM-versions, and even on Windows the neko binaries have horrible performance compared to the native binaries.
This is mostly a result of trying to stay in the spirit of the keynote and trying something new; a language I've never used before and a framework I've never worked with :D
After I get some sleep I'll try and break out my Mac Mini to see if I could hack together something that works.
Welp, seems itch.io's dropbox integration was less than perfect. Windows link should be fixed now, removed the mac and linux builds as people have reported neither of them work (which I actually sort of expected, I'll see what I can do about that).
If the game is lagging on your system even without the shaders enabled, I would love to hear about your system specs. We had no time to test this very thoroughly so I have no idea of the performance, other than the fact that the native version seriously outperfomed the nekoVM binary on my desktop.
Actually that's probably the fact that the gun is very inaccurate when you have a low amount of kills, If you're on the ground and shoot fairly horizontally, the shot can come off at an angle where it just hits the floor immediately.
If i'd had a bit more time I'd have tweaked the levelup mechanic a bit to avoid scenarios like that or included instructions to always try and shoot from the air when starting out.
Thanks everyone for playing our game!
Unfortunately no :D The chromatic aberration effect is meant to convey the effect the "alien technology" has on the player character, didn't have time to modify the shader to disable it for the menus and before the gun is picked up, so it's on all the time :D
windwos version is missing data folder
IDGI.
Pretty sure the music uses unauthorised samples :P
Man I LOVE mega man!
Interesting idea, like CowShark I experienced a lock up after my first can.
The graphics were nice, the levels maybe a bit long, even though the game itself was quite short.
I couldn't stop giggling at the squeaky door sound the mouse/rat made when it got shot, though :D
Got bro stuck in a wall, 5/5, would play again!
Captures the feel of a zombie apocalypse, I like the minimalist style.
Interesting idea, the fear effect could have an impact on the aim of the pinecones, as if you're not particularily jumpy, you can just leave the light off until you hear a bear, turn it on to aim and turn it off again without the screen shaking and static affecting the gameplay much.
Very interesting idea.
liked the music, some sprites had weird borders around their bounding boxes
Awesome! Love the graphics and the gameplay was fun, very addictive!
Interesting idea and nice graphics. Was launched way above the level and then fell through the floor for some reason :O
I'm guessing your Richard isn't very addictive?
Lovely idea and very nice graphical look.
Finished the game, too bad there were only too weapons.
The game looks good, but it's hard to assertain how much of the graphics were "borrowed".
VERY unique idea. Reminded me of a game in the 90s I played, that was like asteroids but there were files from your HD floating around with the asteroids and shooting them would write garbage over the data and stuff like that.
Defintely the most innovative game I've seen thus far in the jam.
It's a fun concept. Is there any reason NOT to always throw everything? That was my strategy and I hit my self-imposed time limit before dying once.
Very fun game! I too wish it was longer, but on the other hand it's nice to see a full story arc in a LD-game.
Lovely artwork and plays well. The screenshot looked like tempest which is a big plus :P
funny game and nice graphics, but can be beaten by just holding the right arrow key, maybe adding movement keys would add more depth to the gameplay
I get an empty 404 page for the Windows version.
