Took me a while to figure out what was going on (AKA I learnt to read the manual :P), but really enjoyed how it worked. Good job!

Haha thanks all!
Zen was definitely the idea, with a violent escalation of difficulty if the tendrils werent being kept up with (to fit the theme)
I wish I had more time to write out the game instructions (was last ~10 minutes of LD), but the fail condition is when any tendril exits the screen area that the camera can span. It was supposed to be a visible, outlined region on the map, but I ran out of time.
I'll make an update after judging is over (or read about what can and can't be updated post-jam) and add in the visible game-over border and an option in the settings to increase the "grabbable" range on the tendrils. And try to fix a small collision detection bug that sometimes makes the tendrils go through each other.
Unfortunately the game itself may be unclear on the objective and I took a nap after completion, but I'm going to write an actual gameplay description now if you want to give it another shot later! (I'm guessing the heart you're talking about is actually the arrow indicating your current position on the minimap, and that your flower dried out which causes it to take damage). Either way, thanks for playing!
Also couldn't go to the second level, but loved the character sprite. Faster/more fluid movement may up the fun level, but for a jam this is a fun start!
I agree that the music was maybe a little intense, but the puzzle mechanic and story fun!
Apologies to the early players, I had a pretty massive crunch session so after I finished yesterday I went straight to bed, so it was up without any instructions!
Thanks everyone for playing (and for the great feedback)! In a perfect world with a little bit more time I should have probably made it a little bit easier to be able to break a fall (or perhaps auto-activated the fall brake if the player had stamina) because it is pretty tough to get a grasp on where you are height-wise with the isometric camera.
@patomkin good eye, the roof is indeed rubber banded. I was tinkering with the balance till the very end of the jam, may have made it too aggressive in the end (I wanted it to be hard to outrun, but also for the player to always have a chance to escape/out-dig it). Its speed ranges from 3 floors per second if its 50+ floors away from the player, to 0.5 floors per second when its close to the player
This game is great fun, extremely polished game. Just fantastic
Very strange but ultimately pretty enjoyable. I really like this entry, nice work! The boxing segments felt quite good to play
Loved the in-game tutorial, and the gameplay (especially the dashing mechanic) was quite fun. The screen shake was a little intense for me, but I think it was used pretty tastefully and I'm just not a screen shake guy haha. Very nice job
cute and fun, a great combo. I was in the same boat as Kool and got stumped at 10, but definitely had a good time playing it
very cool idea, I couldn't make it through the whole game but I think I made it quite far. I agree with some others that it would've been nice to have layer switching be controlled by the right hand, since I did have a bit of a hard time doing it all with my left (but I'm also mostly a controller user, so I'm also unfamiliar with advanced keyboard controlling). Nice work!
basically same thing as all the others, took me a little while to figure out, but after I did it was some good old chaotic fun!
really clever take on the theme, and as with pretty much everyone else I adored the art and especially the sound effects. Something that may have been interesting (after having difficulty scaling/separate nights) would be if you could place down traps that could catch enemies to give it some tower defense elements? Congrats on finishing the compo!
nice job, it's always a fun time in a yellow submarine! It's a little sad not being able to spend the hard earned money, but it is financially responsible!
