Running With Swords by eteeski 2013-04-29T07:51:00
Watched this on stream and I have to agree with the above, the math based animations were brilliant. Well done.

Watched this on stream and I have to agree with the above, the math based animations were brilliant. Well done.
Fun game with good audio, could see myself passing a bit of time playing this, good luck.
Cool music, enemy's come on a little strong but overall cool game.
Fun game, nice job.
Nice job building in a story line.
Nice sound fx :-)
\o/ yes! won a space battle. Nice work.
I feel evil playing this, awesome job!
Thanks for trying it out, The only thing I can think of is the ball is bouncing at the time and the car is just slipping under it. Had it happen to myself a couple of times and can be a bit annoying just when I think I have a shot at goal.
Yeah, you are right, I probably should have built in a sliding scale of difficulty like the blockers speed, ball bounce and the pitches friction. Thanks for all the input.
Thanks for featuring it, that is really weird why the player car is moving so slow, must be something to do with unity's physics. Ah fuck, physics updates are meant to be done in "FixedUpdate" and not "Update".
Nope, much simpler than that, forgot to apply delta time to my forces -_-
Thanks for the laugh.
Had fun playing this, found the rotating of the pieces to be a bit too fast though.
Saw this on stream, thought it was an interesting use of the tech you were using, nice job.
Fun game, loved the batman scene.
Love the animations, couldn't make the toilet in time so used the trash can instead. <_< >_>
I can feel the burn already, nice work.
Nice, proves how bad my memory is, but nice.
That was fun. Well done.
Love the art work. The game over message made me laugh. Yeah, I'm **** and I know it :-(
Enjoyed playing that, nice time killer.
Great atmosphere in the intro.
That was really fun to play, great work, well done.
Simple, cool, I liked it.
Cool job, fun having to plan the sling shot manoeuvres.
Really cool, love the graphics.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback, helps allot.
@mrexcessive not sure whats going on there, did you advance forward by pressing the -> key
@hamster_mk_4 See what you mean, that wasn't intentional, they are meant to be random movements :D
Fun game, I too enjoyed the graphics, well done.
Fun gravity game, i did find the controls a little awkward though, other than that, nice job.
That was fun and challenging, good job.
really cool, chaos is fun, good job
fun game, took a bit to get the hang of but fun, nice job.
Having lives might be nice, other than that I enjoyed playing it.
I like it! that was fun, well done.
fun, well done.
simple, fun, nice job
An AI option would be nice. Sound effects were good.
Interesting effect with telekinetic move, unfortunately I wasn't sure what I was suppose to be doing other than find the snowman, sorry.
cool game and concept. Well done.
<3 creep - That was fun.
great little game, nice tactic to draw the snowman away from tree.
nice idea, was interesting to play
Great game, solid controls.
Loved that audio.
wonderful concept, well done. Also in Python <3
Works fine, shooting zombies is always fun.
I'm cracking up here, that was hilarious, ha hahaha
Really cool concept, small bug in that sometimes the character "supermans" to the next floor. But overall really liked this, well done.
Nice game, illustrates also that I have the memory of a goldfish.
Really nice graphics. I think once the few issues already mentioned here are sorted, you are on to a winner.
Real entertaining with nice characters and great animation and audio. Nice job.
Fun game, art and audio was excellent.
very funny, well done.
nice game, really interesting with wall climbing and shrinking mechanics. Nice job.
Works fine on IE11. That was fun, timing is everything when it comes to swinging at the reindeer.
Fun game with cute characters
Neat game, addictive, could see myself getting stuck playing it for a long time.
That was fun and challenging.
Fun game with great mechanics, well done.
Great little game, congrats on the award.
Really liked the graphics, fun to play.
Nice simple game, I too could have done with more hints.
Hi, back again, just trying out the post jam version as I seen it on the front page and have to say the changes made a big difference, nicely done.
Cool game, simple, fun.
simple, fun, audio fx were good.
Nice game, well put together. Echoing what others have said, the text could be reduced to maybe shorter sharp sentences to help keep your audiences attention. You have the excellent imagery anyway to describe whats going on. Well done.
I sucked bad at that, the controls were a bit of a challenge as I couldn't jump through the start ring. Fun game otherwise.
Real clever game design, nicely done.
Clever idea, well done.
Nice job, couldn't quite figure it out so the menu served me.
Surprisingly addictive game with a great audio track, awesome job.
Ha ha, poor kitty, that was hilarious.
Very well done.
Nice game, couple of things, the play button at the start wasn't very responsive, worked after a while. Also, after restarting after being killed the wave of enemies didn't seem to come. Other than those minor technical issues, its a solid game with great audio and graphics.
Nice game, the lack of friction does add that extra bit of difficultly
Took a while to figure out that it was a rhythm game, but that was a simply awesome, well put together. Well done.
Neat game, very Christmassy theme.
Nice artwork, I too would have liked to have been able to use WASD instead of the arrow keys but that is only a minor thing. Well done.
I am a terrible person/god. Awesome.
fun, controlling is a bit difficult but then again you are on ice.
Colorful and addictive, well done.
That was madness, loved it.
Fun concept being multiplayer, unfortunately with lack of players at time had to resort to a second browser instance. But overall looks great. Maybe an AI option if you are going to continue with this post compo?
Love the retro tube TV look of the game. The mechanics offer a fun and challenging experience, really nice game. Still stuck on lvl 8, but ill get it.
Graphics and game play are definitely on point, hope you continue with this. great job.
That was enjoyable once i got to grips with the mechanic, audio would be nice but I understand when you are against the clock. Well done.
Really nice story telling, loved the logic puzzle in the end too. well done.
Nice use of theme and love the art work.
explosions are fun.
That was cool, liked the audio, really added to the atmosphere.
Solid game for 48hrs, well done.
Audio and graphics were top notch, well done.
fun idea, the card game does take a while to get the hang of.
the was a fun little game, good humor. Having greens and reds spawn close together does require good reflex on the space bar. good entry.
presentation looks fantastic, but again a little difficult to play solo.
Allot of thought and work went into this, great job.
cool runner, would be nice to have running timer for score.
great audio and nice play on theme. well done.
well done on your first ludum dare
Five stars for humor is not enough, there are tears coming out from laughing so hard. thanks for that.
nice, I love the fact the weapons give a kick back.
Nice game with fun graphics, however i felt it could do with a bit more variety as if felt a bit repetitive as it went on, other than that I still enjoyed playing, well done.
Very well put together, enjoyable to play.
That was class, loved the environment. my only minor criticism (which wont affect the score) is the controls felt a bit awkward, or at least that is my excuse for walking into the enemy anyway :-) well done.
Challenging, i like it. definitely bookmark to come back to later.
Just like how I play dark souls, "run away". Awesome artwork.
really cool, makes my brain have to work :-D
That audio is really atmospheric, love it, and that art work is awesome. I'm not sure if the flickering should be toned down a bit? but overall A1.
I had a bit of trouble playing this on my test box, movement seemed slow, are you using delta time in your movements? regardless, I liked what you were going for and those game boy graphics drew me into wanting play this.
Fun game with cute artwork, well done.
Love playing with physics, that was quite fun. Agree that it would suit the mobile platform.
Presentation looks amazing, my only advice would be to perhaps look at the timing between the key press and shapeshift and perhaps make it bit faster just to let the player know the key press registered.
Cool game, took a while to figure out the roles but once over that it was fun and challenging to keep the crew alive. Art and audio was well done too.
Simple and well presented, the music does sound good and complements the game play.
That was some pretty cool mechanics, nice way to shake things up.
Nice idea, really have to work the mouse. I'm not sure if the first level is meant to be a training level, but the robot seems to pass through the wall as it speeds up.
Cool idea and challenging, got a bit frustrating at one point as it required really fine grained movements at risk of death in order to maneuver the box over a ledge.
Really nice presentation with audio and graphics. However as mentioned, it can get a bit repetitive if you stand in the one spot and spam shurikens. I just think the game needs something to disrupt that and encourage more movement.
Really loved the graphics and audio. In the game play, if encountered twice where if I backed off enough, the boss disappears and I'm not sure how to continue.
Very cool and fast paced with lots to manage. Toilet (???) got heavy use, might want to cut down on the caffeine intake.
Pretty cool game to test your reaction.
As mentioned the web version didn't seem to want to capture my controls so couldn't move. The jar worked fine though. Level 6 seems to repeat. Fun and challenging, well done.
Ha ha, that dialogue is golden, well done!
Pretty cool entry, game play was pretty intuitive, the art and audio fit well together with the overall game. Nice job.
Pretty cool, didn't have anyone else on at the time, which can be an issue when going the mp route. Despite that, I messed about with two browser windows and it seems a pretty cool game and works well. With a room full of players I imagine that it would be a lot of fun. Nice work.
Had fun playing this one, great job!
A great idea, but requires a bit of study on the players part in order to maximize the full play experience. I got a feel of "papers please" too, which is really great game to be compared against. Might be worth developing further post compo.
Its a cool idea, it does get crazy. I would recommend some in game training though. Overall, nice job, and thanks for the play and feedback fellow godot-er ;-)
wow, that story and how it was delivered was intriguing. Loved it. Overall graphics, audio and game play was very polished, really enjoyable to play.
I really like the aesthetics of this game. I couldn't quite get the "good" ending as the enemy always seemed to react negatively even when the situation appeared to be de-escalating but at least I get to play FallOut in real life. Great effort.
The physics were cool
Cool puzzle and it features a cat, whats not to like. The only issue that bugged me (maybe its just me!) was hitting a box to rotate one way only to flip it back by triggering another hit box once the gravity flipped, kinda had to navigate away from it while rotating/falling. Other than that, it was enjoyable and well made.
Cool concept, which is why I enjoy LD so much as it gives you an excuse to experiment. Keep it up.
Really well put together, I just found the need for the combo, especially a four key one, off putting. As the game is high paced as it is, with space management for capturing monsters to consider, there is already allot going on so there may not be even a need for it. Overall its cool game.
5/5 Would like to be infuriated again.
Pretty cool, the art is really good. Would be nice, maybe more forgiving, if a health bar was introduced over the one hit and you are out. Overall really nice game.
Really liked the presentation of the level, especially that neon outline overlay. I found that the enemies due tend to congregate and if you offload all your ammo, it becomes difficult. Maybe having a way to create a diversion might help out. Overall I liked this, nice work.
I found the camera to be the biggest obstacle in the game but once I got the hang of it the game was pretty fun. The difficulty does ramp up and due to the players slow backward movement it forces you to move and not camp and fire. Nice work.
Pretty cool and fun game. I would have liked to be able to checkpoint at the same level that I'm on so that I can resume there after I get consumed rather than start over. Nice work with the soundtrack, I'm trying to learn guitar at the moment and would love to be able use it in a future game.
Using the players recoil was a novel way of doing movements, I did find the clicking outside of the canvas proved to be a bit of a hindrance. I don't know if there is a way to take ownership of the mouse while playing the game in a unity web game?
Pretty cool, and I won too! Love the audio.
That rabbit sure those get big fast. It was a cool experience, my only issue was some of the hit boxes for triggers were not so obvious (last one) it took a bit of random jumping and button mashing to find it. But over all well done.
Really nice style of art and captures the atmosphere of the wild well where tiny mistakes will cost you dearly.
Really nice game.
Its definitely a cool approach that you develop your abilities as you progress. Nice platformer, the difficulty does ramp up as you progress and getting the timing of the enemies shots down was quite challenging.
Thank you all for the play and reviews so far.
I have on occasion in the web version seen the blank screen for the closing credits when there should be text. I don't know why that is happening.
Really cute game, I'm definitely a cat person. As for game play, I think it needs some more "stuff" to do, I don't necessarily know what, maybe some challenges? Also I think you should have a look at the controls/movement maybe make it a little smoother rather than a snap direction change. But overall, it really is a nice presentation, well done.
Top notch game, so much to get in over a weekend and be so well polished, well done. I did however encounter the same bug as mentioned where I couldn't move after exiting a certain mini game.
That was pretty cool. Maybe if you decide to expand, some archers or trebuchet's would be an interesting addition. Nice job!
That was pretty cool, some model animation would really polish it off. I did encountered one bug (pardon the pun) with the wind phase as it threw my character off the world.
Nice work!
Love it, especially the low poly style. The players control and movements felt really well dialed in, well done.
Cool take on the theme, it almost plays off of childhood imagination. Nice presentation.
Cool sound effects. The missile damage on the enemies seems low making them hard to kill.
Music is really good here, but the difficulty is a little much for me. I have done this myself in the past in games I have created for jams and the feedback reflected that. While its good to offer a challenge, it is important to find the right balance between keeping the player motivated to overcome it but also not enough that it becomes frustrating where you risk losing your player.
Nice game with simple game play. I would have liked the car to be a little more to the left of screen to make it a little fairer to see the traffic ahead. Also the movements are a little sensitive or maybe its the hit boxes, I ended up in the barriers a few times trying to maneuver around cars.
Really cool, the black holes really add a challenge. nice job!
That was pretty cool, I could imagine my self getting disorientated after a while with all the spinning
Nice game.
The sounds and facial expressions are very funny :joy:
Really nice music and artwork + a cool character design.
Artwork is really nice, plus I love the narrative.
That was pretty cool. Nice artwork. The cat design is great, wasn't expecting it to be so big, had me running real fast!
Nice job!
Turn based strategy are genre I normally don't play a lot but I liked this because its scaled down and not overly complex. Graphics were neat, the only suggestion I would make is the ship sound during movement phase seems a little loud, maybe a more comical sound would suit?
But overall, nice work, well done.
Really cool, so much packed in there, and was really fun, really wanted to complete the game and survive, and did.
Really well done!
I love the comedic element of this game, from the character control to the physics and the effects on the environment. The cinematography at the start was cool too.
Like mentioned, I wasn't really sure the purpose of the repairs to the machinery. Maybe it would be an idea to have the repairing linked to getting more parts? i.e. steam preventing the player getting to a part you need? The overall presentation, graphics and audio are very well done, congrats.
I got a bit of nostalgia from playing this thinking about the number of hours I sunk into playing Worms, pretty neat. I had to play two browsers as nobody was on at the time, but the grubs seemed to switch views, not sure if bug or feature :-)
Really like the art in this game. I had the same problem as mentioned trying to run this with the installer finishing but nothing happening. I tried running it on a old laptop and got to play it eventually. I dont understand why it works on one but not the other, both are win10, nothing flagged by the A/v or anything.
Pretty awesome and so well polished. Just so fun and destruction. Really well done!
Music is very atmospheric, real nice. Game difficulty is high as finding and maintaining the balance on thrust is hard. Maybe some rcs for control might help.
Overall, nice work.
Really cool, presented very well. Also hat tip to another Godot user, nice to see its popularity rise in game jams.
Pretty cool and fun. I agree that the rocks appear OP, it was easy to spam them. Also it would be cool to see the difficulty ramp up a bit as you progress.
Nice work!
Great interactive story telling, a lot to produce in a short space of time. My only suggestion to offer is perhaps more visual cues, i.e. objects highlight when near them or characters have pop dialog with "talk" just to give a player some visual feedback.
Overall, awesome job!
Nice twist on a shooter which fits the theme perfectly.
