Nice artstyle.
Lovely. Ladders were a bit annoying though and what's the purpose of fixing the machines or money? I fixed the ship and left, I guess the moral is don't let the grind get you down?
Visuals are very cute! The objective of the game is not very clear, though. At first I kept fixing the steams and didn't get how the money indicator works or what's its use.
But a good job!
Visually it's awesome ! I really like the story (mostly the way you let the player choose to work as he is supposed to (or not...). The music is good (I don't understand why isn't there a music rating this time ).
And even with those bugs, I think it's a nice game !
Pretty game with a cute story. I liked the intro music which looks like This War of Mine :D That's yet nice to have a cinematic for a game jam entry!
It looks really cute!
I would love to play a full game with that art style
Awesome visuals! Love the sound design as well!
Great job on your first game - it's very charming and made the most of its content. The sense of chaos and not being able to stop to think about my real goal because one more thing was going wrong was nicely achieved.
The ladders were a bit wonky, but I got used to them pretty quickly. It was mainly dismounting them that was awkward.
Although I assume you used outside music, it was used effectively.
Nice work!
Hi guys! The artwork is very nice, I loved the different shades in the background and the animated cogs. It took me a while to understand how to get off a stair once you climb it but I in general I really liked this adventure/platform mix!
I assumed that I had to fix the ship to leave. The short story sequence at the beginning was really nice and effective, didn't really need other explanations.
At first I thought I had to keep all the machinery fixed in order to start the ship, but then I discovered this wasn't really necessary.
Beautiful work!
Thanks everyone you're so kind ! ♥ And yeah it was free musics/sounds so i decided to don't keep the music rating. I'm so sorry for the ladders, it was my main problem, I really hope I'll have the courage to fix it later !
This game is the Ludum Dare definition of "short and sweet"!
The game is visually beautiful, I loved the music, and although the gameplay was a bit simple, it tied the central story and mood in so it worked. Obviously a bigger game with a larger world with these elements would be even better, the overall product is fantastic as is! It's actually amazing that you've gotten me attached to the characters (love their designs btw) with that simplicity. Good work you all! And good luck with your future games!
This is a great first try at a LD game. Graphics are top notch!
I would have liked to see more done to fit it into the theme, but again a good effort!
Really nice game. I really love the art style!
Just some suggestions, It was too easy for me, if you have patience you can get it. Maybe some enemies at different points could make it more difficult and challenging. Definitely I will try to add this and to include more levels togenerate a version suitable to distrubution.
Congrats for a very good entry
I actually played it again when I realised that I could just repair the ship and leave, which does make me wonder what the purpose of the money/repairing everything is. As others have said, it's nice to have an intro/outro to a game. I'd recommend tying the fixing of the machine to the launching of the ship. Say, you have to get pressure levels up because reasons, so you fix leaks in the machine. As you do that you gather parts and fix the ship, then when you're ready to launch you make sure the machine is operational so a pressure gauge reaches launch level and viola!
Like mentioned, I wasn't really sure the purpose of the repairs to the machinery. Maybe it would be an idea to have the repairing linked to getting more parts? i.e. steam preventing the player getting to a part you need? The overall presentation, graphics and audio are very well done, congrats.
Oh my god! Those graphics! Gorgeous! They create such a great atmosphere!
Even if the game is very short, it tells a great story. Love the twist with the airship.
I presume you cannot jump when you are carrying an item to lead the player to the airship, but I found that very confusing, I restarted the game twice because I thought the controls were broken.
Did I already mention that I loved the graphics??? And those animations! And the storytelling! Wow!
Damn, that was a sick parallax scrolling! Very nice game!
@monty @zyxer @coderdozer @gredgie @inigo @ponywolf @oxlander Thanks everyone ! It's so cool to have feedbacks, and I realised alot of little mistakes I made.
I'm sorry if you were confused with the repair of the machine. It was the main idea, that you don't have to fix the machine. You do it because it's "automatic", because someone told/show you that you have to do it, but it's not needed, and worst, useless. I wanted the player to feel anxious because he can't win by scoring. He have to find something else. BUT anyway, I'm so glad to have feedbacks ! Hope i'll do better on my next game !
And thanks for your kindness about art and the character ♥
