LD26 — Minimalism

minimalistherain by alvivar 2013-05-05T20:49:00

Great game idea, nicely implemented with the lighting. If I was better at platformers, I'd probably have more of an opinion. :D

App Escape by L 2013-05-05T20:43:00

Clever and humorous game! Great job!

Gods Will Be Watching by Deconstructeam 2013-05-02T01:54:00

Best game I have seen so far! I'm impressed! :P

Skyscraper Kingdoms by Snail_Man 2013-05-01T19:16:00

I really like this game. Simple and complex at the same time. The AI of the enemies might need some improving. I had no problems defeating the enemy on the first try with one warrior.

Super MiniMan by Alink 2013-05-05T22:19:00

I really like the level design. Controls and physics fit perfectöly together.

Keepy Uppy by Paul Sinnett 2013-05-02T00:37:00

Well this is minimalism at its finest ;)
But I think I'm to clumsy for this game, I didn't make it past 8.

The Journey of a Blob by pirate-rob 2013-05-16T18:13:00

I really like the size-changing idea. :D

Geneva Convection by TylerGlaiel 2013-05-05T14:03:00

Awesome game. Graphics, Sound and Story are perfect. But the gameplay does become a bit repetitive.

[[[[ by domrein 2013-05-05T20:32:00

I really like the idea. But I agree that the game is a bit slow.

I know that you are fishing for compliments with your introduction, so here you go: yes, your game is definitivly the worst game of all time ;)

Timit by TheSnide 2013-05-05T20:59:00

Well I had a lot of fun playing this game, considering that you only put 12 times as much time to make it as i did to play. I really like games that test one's real-world skills.

Kill Tower by KHANanaphone 2013-05-05T22:08:00

"The Tower of Kill" is the most evil sounding place ever! :D

Really well designed puzzle game!

Nine Tails by dualtagh 2013-05-05T12:37:00

Really like the concept. Fix the bugs and you will have an awesome game.

*Humorous Title!* by Graf_Grun 2013-05-07T23:14:00

Great minimalistic game concept and graphics. And fun to play. :D

For some reason I couldn't hear any sound. (And yes my loudspeakers are on ;) )
It would be really nice if it was visible how far the square is in the space, I intuitively assumed that the square was at the depth of the screen, which it isn't.

Compositions by Kali Purr 2013-05-07T23:22:00

Wow, what a great take at the theme! Now we know how Mondrian created his art: He built a time machine and played your game ;)

Shrink Shift by MrHalfman 2013-05-02T02:30:00

Quite a tricky game. I especially like the music. :D

Fragments of Him by Aceria 2013-05-05T19:12:00

Though the gameplay is a bit simplistic, the perfect atmosphere makes up for it. I actually really liked your voice acting, made it feel real.
... and now I'm depressed. :(

Mondritron: 2026 by Dotanukii 2013-05-05T21:08:00

Awesome idea. Using Mondrian's art makes for a great style and for a cool-sounding name. ;)

But my left and right hand coordination skills are just a bit too low to play this game. It would be nice if the first few levels started out a bit slower, so that even people like me would have a chance. :D

Union by theplotlessplot 2013-05-05T23:56:00

Great idea and funny introduction. Difficulty is a bit on the hard side. It would be nice if one could restart the game without having to reload the page.

Buried by danielcmessias 2013-05-05T13:16:00

Really like the graphics, the shaking gives you sense of the power you are up against. A bit on hard side I must say. Is it even winnable? :D

Come Along With Us by HackThePanda 2013-05-05T16:04:00

Cute, simple game. I like the subtheme you chose. But the difficulty seems a bit arbitrary.

Don't Freeze by rpgwhitelock 2013-05-05T12:44:00

Great graphics and sound. Really makes you feel cold. I hope you make a great project out of this in the future!

The Minimalism Quest by Pol 2013-05-05T23:38:00

Yay, destruction! ... and a penis. xD

Minimal Shifting by AlbertoSM 2013-05-05T15:03:00

Awesome little game. Quite difficult actually.

Simple Difficulties by Wet Heads 2013-05-05T13:06:00

This game is really hard. :P Even though I tried to use the rocket launcher all the time, I still got more and more bad guys. And the worst thing: They are all coming at you and you by accident pick up a snowflake gun. It would be nice to be able to select a weapon once you picked it up. :D
Really great game. I liked it a lot.

Composition Number 10 by TeamQuadratic 2013-05-02T02:08:00

Really like the combat. Nothing better than repeatedly smashing a key like a mad man to give you the sense of winning. xD

They're Multiplying! by aneeslol 2013-05-05T14:57:00

Great game idea and well executed. It's quite counterintuitive that filling up the space is good when you lose once it's full.

A thing about nothingness by Pierrec 2013-05-05T18:30:00

Truly great game. Funny, entertaining and even philosophical. 5/5 ;)

My Mini Castle by TijmenTio 2013-05-14T15:51:00

Awesome graphics, great humor. But I'm too clumsy to get over wave 2. :S

TOOM by PoV 2013-05-05T20:18:00

Great work :D would have liked for the game to go on.

Complete Revenge: A Hero s Journey by Nuclear_Hammer 2013-05-05T22:46:00

Awesome artwork! The game itself is a bit simple, though I really like the winding back of time when you die.

Earth Defender by Hellequin 2013-05-16T18:26:00

Fun little game. Though you might want to rename the game "my spaceship defender", as it doesn't seem to matter that aliens hit earth all the time. ;)

File size is also quite minimalistic :D

Perception by ghostinthesoft 2013-05-04T02:24:00

I really like the idea and the graphics. It would have been nice to use the altered perception to actually look for the keys.

A Man from the Docks by TheDanielBerry 2013-05-01T23:57:00

I really like the style of this game.

I got the sword from the king but i still cannot select a destination to travel with the boat. What key do I have to press to select a destination?

</3 by kirby_freak 2013-05-04T02:09:00

I'm not sure I approve of the moral message of this game ;)

Really like the idea. But I wasn't able to bully any kids except the grey ones, what am I doing wrong?

Fear of the Snoo Snoo by Egan 2013-05-02T00:29:00

I like the Snoo Snoo idea. :D
But I must admit that I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to do in the game.

Pillar by drkrunk 2013-05-05T21:30:00

Cool graphics! Together with the music they create a nice atmosphere. It's a shame you weren't able to do more during the 48 hours, because I think this game has some great potential. Keep up the good work! :D

Ten Shades of Grey by Nancybeast 2013-05-02T00:11:00

Nicely game with some potential.

The physics are a bit glitchy, so I wasn't able to get over level 5.

Only One Shot by Xanjos 2013-05-02T00:54:00

Really cool concept. Would have loved to play more levels :D

Minimalism by chanko08 2013-05-02T00:46:00

I think there are some bugs with the controls or you need explain them more precisely. I wasn't able to get past the first level.

Too Minimal? by AnTiCamPr 2013-05-04T01:09:00

Nice game, true to the theme :D
(Pro tip: put weights on you right arrow key and the space bar and go do something else -> endless points, yay xD)

Shore by LevelXGamer 2013-05-04T01:19:00

Nice, fun and simple game. Remindes me of Minecraft, just without the pigs ;) Would love to see more islands with more types of ressources and more complex boats to build.

Tendril by Greg Power 2013-05-05T18:11:00

Nicely polished game. And really hard :P
The sound is brilliantly integrated in the game.

Minimalia by eCustic 2013-05-05T15:15:00

The screenshot looks interessting
But when I try to run i get this error message:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: dk/ecustic/Mi
nimalia/Launcher : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0
I'm Running Windows 7 64bit with 1.7.0_21 from Oracle

OptiWars by therealeek 2013-05-04T01:49:00

Really like the idea. Reminds me of the original C&C games. The rocket launcher are a bit OP, though ;)

The Minimalist by Dans17 2013-05-04T02:18:00

Great music, especially when it is enhanced by the sound of my constant dying. ;)
Seems like an interesting concept, but sadly the game is not running smoothly enough on my computer to be playable.

Terrible Magical Artist by Colorvade 2013-05-04T02:30:00

Awesome game. It's nice to be creative for once in a LD game :D

8 jumps and a fat man by Exclamation Mark 2013-05-05T23:47:00

Really cool game. Too bad the controls are a little fiddly.

Mino-malism by Shymoonesk 2013-05-01T18:32:00

I get an error message when if i press "W" right after pressing "D".
But I already can't get the song out of my head. :D

Towers of Rage by robotality 2013-05-05T23:31:00

Awesome game! Gameplay gets a bit repetitive, but who cares, graphics, sound and level design are great.

I Want To See Space by PizzaPranks 2013-05-01T18:10:00

Man, why is the red square always such a pessimist? I hate that guy. ;-)
Great dialog!

HAX by Andrewves 2013-05-05T14:09:00

Fun to play. Nice and Simple. One of the best games I've seen so far.

make a binky by soerensen3 2013-05-01T18:25:00

Yay, made it over 5000 :D Never misspelled the word "set" so many times in my life xD
Really simple but addictive game. I like it!

SimWar by weesals 2013-05-05T15:23:00

Awesome work! The tanks might be a little OP. three shots to destroy a buidling? :D

Special client by ColdBrain 2013-05-05T12:30:00

Haha. Reminds me of "I found this cool font called Comic Sans." xD
Sadly the element selection was a quite buggy for me, which made the game really hard to play. I also wasn't able to change to color of the text boxes.

Too Few by egor-idiot 2013-05-05T15:33:00

I must admit that I didn't quite understand what I was supposed to do. But the atmosphere of this game is awesome. The pixel art and the illegible dialog fit the theme perfectly. I especially like the 2*3 pixel numbers (though I had problems distinguishing 0 and 8).

kin arthur gold by pokemon12 2013-05-05T15:36:00

Fake entry. Down the drink! ;)

Placeholder Title by The Jahn 2013-05-05T15:46:00

Not very unusual game idea, but very well executed. I must agree that some parts are frustratingly hard. But with a bit of polishing this could be a very fun game.

Potato Gnomes Online by EpaceGames 2013-05-05T15:55:00

Awesome idea. Too bad there are not enough people playing it. I played it in two seperate windows with the third gnome being played by someone else online, and I wasn't able to keep up. A chat window would have made it much easier to communicate.

Dream Fishing by Sophie Houlden 2013-05-05T22:38:00

Wow! Great game! Poetic, funny, and with nice physics and lighting. Sound also fits perfectly.

("Boobs, lol" - I couldn't stop laughing xD)

Definitely the best game I've seen so far.

crush. by oatsbarley 2013-05-05T16:12:00

Minimalism at its best. The meditative music fits perfectly.

It's Probably Not Even Paint by J 2013-05-05T18:40:00

I played this game alone, so I couldn't really play it to it's full potential. But I think this could be a really fun and competitive game if two people would play it. The paint-spreading effect also allows for some strategy.

Line Game by elektron 2013-05-05T19:30:00

Fits the theme perfectly. Reminds me of the hours I spent playing Snake II on my Nokia 3310. :D

Shoot (AAA_FPS_GOTY) by quill18 2013-05-05T19:23:00

Technically perfect and full of humor. Nothing else to be expected from quill18 ;)
I do miss an element which would make it more than just another FPS.

ProductionVille by Blinked 2013-05-04T01:42:00

Great game with awesome graphics. Really love the day/night cycle. But I wish there would be a easier way to build streets and bridges.

Untitled by zaratustra 2013-05-05T19:38:00

Can't run it, as my Antivirus keeps complaining about an "unknown virus". So I looked at the source ... and laughed. :D

Everyone Together by aeveis 2013-05-05T21:19:00

This is how I like puzzle game: simple, imaginative, frustrating and satisfying at the same time.

A Day At Joe's by Nehmulos 2013-05-05T22:26:00

I absolutely love this game. The style is perfect and the story funny. It's really too bad you weren't able to create more content.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

The Stolen Seconds by Jogy34 2013-08-28T03:00:00

Sounds like a great game concept. I like the idea of dividing the levels into planets/regions. But I have the same problem with the too fast player.

Catch them all! (In ten seconds) by Yaru 2013-08-31T21:01:00

Nice game concept. The timer as background is a cool idea. I must say that as the positions of you and the enemies are random the difficulty of the levels are also random (though they tend to be practically unbeatable.) Perhaps less enemies? Or a less random placement?

tiny terrors by berkano 2013-08-31T21:29:00

Wow, really good game. Cute graphics and quite complex gameplay. Though the controlls really take some getting used to. It would be nice if one could at least move around the map with the arrow keys. But still, nicely done!

Seconds of Light by kristof 2013-09-08T18:37:00

I really like this game. Very simple, but the concept with the lighting and the glowing eyes in the dark is very well thought-out. Good job!

I'm not quite sure where you built in the theme. Do the torches last 10 seconds?

Ochre by ben 2013-09-08T16:01:00

Wow! This game creates such a nice atmosphere. Calm and meditative. Nice artwork and fitting sound.

Duke Dashington by AdventureIslands 2013-09-08T20:01:00

Amazing artwork. Really funny character and story. Challenging levels. Awesome work!

Elemental Siege by DWallin 2013-08-29T01:07:00

I really like the combination of tetris and a wall defense game. The art is also well done and fits the game well. It would be nice if the game was a little less random, if one could choose field shape and field type.

Tower To The Sun by Zer0Kelvin 2013-08-28T04:29:00

Great game idea! Simple, but quite addictive. Of course, once you found the optimal strategy, it's really easy. ;) Made it in 39 generations.

Mocap Guy by lekochen 2013-08-29T01:38:00

Well done. Simple but challenging. And once again I just realized that I suck at these kind of games...

Hungry Squishy Panic by domrein 2013-08-28T03:26:00

Nice, clean and simple game. It took me some time to figure out how the controls worked, a short explanation would have helped. ;)

Nations by jayitinc 2013-09-13T11:58:00

I think you had a good game concept but underestimated the time it would take to implement it. The clickable surface of the units is a bit too small and one should be able to walk more than 3 steps per round. I really like that you provided a built-in map creator.

Make way ! by neekobus 2013-09-13T12:19:00

Great game idea and nicely implemented. I miss the ability to reset levels. And it would have been nice if there were much more levels.

Barry's Pie Day by dawi 2013-09-13T13:12:00

Funny story. :D I see from your screenshot that there must be more than one screen, but I didn't find the way to get to the second screen.

G-Block by Whiteclaws 2013-09-13T12:57:00

Great puzzle game! well done! It would be nice though, if the levels weren't random and would start out a bit easier, like this it's nearly impossible to beat.

Clockwork Cat by patrickgh3 2013-09-01T01:58:00

Cutest game ever! Love it! (It feels weird giving you 5 stars in all categories, but I must say, you deserved it...)

War Horse Of Impeccible Desert Taste And Cannons by commanderstitch 2013-09-08T20:14:00

Seems like a fun little game, but I think I don't quite get what I should be doing. I didn't find any weapons even after squashing mobs and I didn't find the throne either.

Who cares zombie-swingers from Venus on the Yellow Submarine? by bukt 2013-09-01T01:33:00

Quite a funny game! :D

SF-1 by frogmaster 2013-09-13T11:13:00

Quite a original idea for the theme, and quite tricky to play. And that the tutorial interrupts the 10 second timer is just evil. ;)

Highway Hero by raincole 2013-09-01T01:13:00

Great game concept! Simple, but well-made graphics.

The 10-Second Rule by hissssssssss 2013-09-08T18:44:00

Haha, the idea of the game is really funny! :D

Parts Bot (Factory Worker) by bobleny 2013-08-29T00:19:00

Wow! I must say this is one of the best games I've seen so far. Thinking spatially under time pressure is really challenging. Great work!

Point One Hurts by Tom 7 2013-08-28T03:13:00

Wow! Awesome graphics and soundtrack. Love how the physics and game rules change every ten seconds. Great work! (Though I must admit that I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do.)

Lone Stranger's PULSE by LoneStranger 2013-08-29T00:28:00

With sound and visuals this game seems rather easy. But then you get to "darkness"... now thats hard. Great game concept!

Nailcastle by Aifryz 2013-09-08T14:39:00

Nice game concept, and simple but appropriate art. I think you might have a bug with the controls and/or collision detection, I keep getting stuck in corners.

10 Seconds Treasure Hunt by GodsBoss 2013-09-08T19:44:00

Really fun game! Nice, simple and funny artstyle! Well done! (Too bad my computer is too fast to beat the levels in time.)

The Curse of Chronos by Vaalen 2013-08-28T02:07:00

Great twist on the theme and a cool twist on the rogue-like genre. Background story, music and npc conversations create quite a nice atmosphere.

Spark by fullmontis 2013-08-28T01:43:00

It's nice to play in a maze you kind of already "know". :D It's impressive how the sound of a single heartbeat can create quite an atmosphere.

Ten Second Defense by Super Hamster 2013-08-28T04:16:00

Nicely implemented tower defense game. Is it only me or are the enemies way too fast? Even on EZ and when I build a slow cannon first, I don't have enough time to place more towers before the game is over.

Oops!!! v0.5alpha by Blue Steel 2013-08-28T02:15:00

I like the basic game idea. Time pressure is great, but here it might be a little high, it's nearly impossible to press the key at the exact moment you want.

Freddy Goldfish by Zeon 2013-09-08T15:34:00

Great artwork! Simple, but nicely polished game. It would be nice though, if one had more than one life. It's extremely frustrating to die after only one hit.

fastDefense by little-automaton 2013-08-28T02:31:00

Great idea to add bouncing physics to a cannon game. But the fun one has is highly dependant on the generated map. If there are many 45 degree slopes pointing towards the cannon, the balls will nearly always bounce back.

Backstep by ShiverGaming 2013-08-29T01:32:00

The ability to jump back 10 seconds is a great concept. I also like the "twist" which leads you to the alien spaceship (thanks for the hint, by the way). Too bad there is so little content.

Ten Seconds Assasin by redo 2013-08-28T02:37:00

Clean and simple game. I like that. Good sound, too! :D

DogRocket by Moof 2013-08-28T01:49:00

Awesome game. Love the idea. Clean, simple humor. And easy to play but really hard to beat. :D
My record: 225 m

The Adventures of Lars by Dan 2013-08-28T02:43:00

Really funny game idea. Too bad you only were able to complete two levels. I was looking forward to play more levels. Perhaps in a post-compo version? :D

You have 10 seconds by DY 2013-08-28T03:18:00

Well made take on a classic game idea! Good choice on graphics. Nice job for your first Ludum Dare entry!

Angry Guards by Diptoman 2013-09-01T00:57:00

Great puzzle game. Music and art create a nice atmosphere. Love it!

Totem Wars by PeaCe 2013-08-28T01:29:00

Wow, I love the combination of rock-paper-scissors and fighting game. Lots of fun to play and funny graphics. I really like it!

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-09-08T19:25:00

Wow! I just love the style of the graphics! Artwork, sound, physics just all feel right.

Withdrawal Syndrome by Supernaught 2013-08-30T13:35:00

I can't get it to run on my Windows 7 SP1 machine. When I try to open it I get the waiting cursor for 1 second and then nothing happens. It's really too bad, as the screenshots look really promissing.

Microbes by keyboardmonkey 2013-09-01T00:33:00

Not bad for 12 hours! Simple concept, but well implemented and with really cool graphics!

10 Second Skafgatch by VeloSpectre 2013-08-30T13:45:00

Wow, amazing graphics. Well done!
But I must say that the gameplay is a bit dull at the moment. What am I supposed to do? Am I trying to escape? And why don't the Skafgatchs harm me?
And I'm not quite sure where the "10 seconds" theme is in your game.

Dead End Corner 10 second Wave Evolving Zombie Games by mirzasan 2013-08-26T04:08:00

Quite hard to beat. I never survive the fifth wave... ^^
Cool graphics, they create a nice atmosphere for the game.

Houba by paradoxa 2013-08-28T13:13:00

Interesting puzzle game idea. I like how the levels are randomly generated. But that also has the disadvantage that the levels are sometimes extremely easy and sometimes unbeatable.

Cosmic Commander by UnorthodoxGames 2013-09-08T15:45:00

Wow! Awesome game concept! I love the strategy-aspect of the game. Great job!

The Pomidor chronicles by crueltear 2013-09-08T19:11:00

I really love the cutscenes. I also like how the game looks simple at first, but gets more and more complex.

Ten Second Speed Dating by MrNat96 2013-08-28T13:42:00

Haha, this game is really funny. :D Too bad there are only 10 questions.

Twitchy Thrones by rpmoura 2013-08-29T22:59:00

Wow, just played this game for an hour! Absolutely awesome game!

It would be nice if one could divide an army. On the other hand not being able to divide an army makes the game more challenging... Not quite sure how I stand on this... :D

I really like the music in the intro screen. :D

Super Zang IV by itidus21 2013-08-28T14:14:00

Nice game concept! Funny graphics, I especially like the snail. We need more snail fighting games! :D

The phases change a bit fast though, one can hardly keep up with what's going on. It would be nice if each phase would last 2 seconds instead of one. (Then a game would have to be longer than 10 seconds, I know.)

Meat Basket by shs 2013-09-08T19:02:00

Fun idea! It would be nice it the levels weren't random but ordered by difficulty.

10 Seconds to escape by FireZenk 2013-09-08T14:15:00

Good game concept and nice graphics! The controls are a bit fiddly though. And looking for the R or N key after each level kind of breaks the flow.

Space Hunt by korfi 2013-09-08T18:50:00

Nice simple little game. Too bad you didn't integrate Mr. Falkinson more into the game, would have made for a fun character.

Top down zombie Runner by supersammy7000 2013-08-28T03:32:00

Very simple, but games don't need to be complicated. Great job for a first game!

DEAD OF THE NIGHT by tiooonnn 2013-08-28T22:55:00

Making a text-based horror game is a great idea! There's nothing better than one's own imagination to create the right mood. Really too bad that the game ends after the first day, I would have loved to play it further.

Charge by TeamInCharge 2013-09-13T12:06:00

Wow, really awesome game! Nice graphics and well implemented swarm behavior. The controls are a bit hard to master, though.

A Maze Thing by TeamAMazeThing 2013-09-01T00:26:00

Wow! Amazing graphics. First LD game where my PC can't keep up. :D The radar map which only updates every 10 seconds need some getting used to, but was a good way to integrate the theme. But overall I'm impressed!

S0LB0T by XaiZil 2013-09-13T13:04:00

Great game and nice artwork. It would be nice if the game didn't have to reload after each death, though.

Proletarian Ninja X by deepnight 2013-09-08T14:09:00

Wow, best graphics I've seen for LD 27!

BeautyIsTheBeast by Valandre 2013-09-08T15:25:00

Wow! Amazing artwork and graphics! I also really like the game idea of switching the hunter/hunted every 10 seconds. And the characters are very funny. The controls are a bit hard to master though, which makes the game frustratingly hard.

Off Balance by pragmascript 2013-08-28T23:20:00

Awesome concept. Really tricky but also really captivating. It would be nice if one could move the camera while holding an object. But apart from that I find it a really great game.

Maze of Torment by shard123 2013-08-30T12:40:00

I like the idea of alternating between light and darkness, adding a memory aspect to a labyrinth game.

Every Ten Seconds A Kitten Drowns by matthias_zarzecki 2013-08-29T01:23:00

I let Hobbes drown. Now I feel bad... :(

Really fun and well-made game! Actually it's kind of too bad that there is a time limit. I would have loved to play it for a while longer and buy more upgrades.

Mr Moore's Last Seconds by Tainted_Code 2013-09-01T01:46:00

Wow! Just an amazing little game!

Harvest in 10 Seconds by Atridas 2013-08-28T23:42:00

Looks like an awesome concept. Graphics and music create a perfect mood. Nice work.

I must add that you must give more hints. It took me 5 minutes to understand that I had to craft the resources listed in the bottom right (and I'm still not quite sure about that). Plus I see hundreds of variations how I could arrange buidling/resources/people. Trying all of them and waiting 10 seconds for each would take an eternity.

But keep up the good work. With a few more hints this would make an great game.

KunoNoOni's Magical Star Saga by KunoNoOni 2013-08-28T04:06:00

Awesomely funny background story. Made me laugh. Graphics that fit the game's style. But I must say, the game is really hard. I gave up when I got the first star after I had failed 50 times or so...

Sleep Consultant by flashkick 2013-08-29T00:35:00

Really funny background story for a turn-based fighting game. And the game itself is quite addictive. I like it! :D

Yea by prettymuchbryce 2013-08-28T03:47:00

Awesome game! Great concept, great sound, great atmosphere. Quite addictive. Oh, and yes: Yea

Dungeon Run: Gauntlet by N427 2013-08-26T17:49:00

Nice game. I like the simple but harmonious graphics. The controls are a bit counterintuitive, but that just makes the game harder. :D

Mall Cop by CMahaff 2013-08-28T23:55:00

Great game! Simple but nonetheless challenging. And a great memory exercise, too. Well done!

The difficulty does go up a bit fast, I definitely wasn't ready for two suspects after just three levels.

Congratulations on a successful first LD entry! :D

Time Hack by quill18 2013-08-28T13:27:00

Programmed at 30000 feet. That must be a first for Ludum Dare. Great game. Simple, but addictive!

Would have been fun if you had done a stream from the plane. Imagine it: Constant deafening sound in the background, and other passengers telling you to be quiet... :-D

BIOFUEL by Ciaran54 2013-08-28T21:42:00

Really fun vertical platformer. I like the slurping noise. :D It would be nice if the plants would drop more fuel. You get stuck very quickly, and it's quite frustrating when you cannot continue because you have no more fuel.

RUN: TEN MORE SECONDS by DeadlyFugu 2013-09-02T21:07:00

Nice use of the theme for a jump 'n' run game. I also like that the level is randomly generated, though the clocks are sometimes places so far apart that it becomes unbeatable. Well done!

Zzzecret Agent by BlennosoftGames 2013-08-30T13:10:00

Surprisingly difficult game with a funny background story. Well done!

Space Time by DalsGames 2013-08-29T00:00:00

Simple, but fun to play and somehow funny. Actually you should encourage people to play the game with a mouse as an additional challenge! :D

Rules X by hungyg 2013-09-02T21:16:00

This game is really fun and addictive! Even though I kept losing against my partner :( Good job on the procedurally generated levels! The platforms are generated a bit high though. And it would be nice if the levels were a bit more complex, to encourage more jumping.

RELAY by Homletmoo 2013-08-28T21:56:00

Wow! Nicely polished game and great use of the theme. Graphics and music fit perfectly. Sometimes having to wait for 10 seconds over and over again can be frustrating. But I guess that makes the game even more addictive.

ROBOT PLANET by GeorgeBroussard 2013-09-01T01:25:00

I really love the combination of very simple art and complex visual effects. Creates quite a nice atmosphere.

Lab of Broken Time by Kaslai 2013-09-02T21:39:00

Nice puzzle game which incorporates the theme quite well. I also really like the artwork. The controls are a bit fiddly (especially jumping) which makes level 3 nearly unbeatbale. But still a fun game, I would love to see more levels! :D

Countdown by Nilmrots 2013-09-02T21:25:00

Fun game. The time pressure makes it quite addictive. It would be nice if one could walk diagonally though.

LD28 — You Only Get One

The Bubble by Alink 2013-12-17T21:52:00

Quite innovative but hard game. I like that you have to collect the golden items with your character and with the bubble. Well done!

Shine by AdventureIslands 2013-12-30T13:16:00

Great platformer, well thought-through and challenging

1 year in space by Follett 2013-12-17T14:53:00

I personally love the style of the game. The planets and 3D battles are amazing.

I do find it to too bad that the gameplay is a bit simple. It would be nice if one could have some influence on the battles. An it would be also nice to get clues on where the cure is.

Curtain Call by pinkmonkeyhead 2013-12-17T14:40:00

Really funny game. I couldn't stop laughing at "it was a blind date". Well done!

The text display is a little slow though.

Hauptbaum by Christian S. 2013-12-30T13:23:00

Great graphics, great sound, great mood! Well done!
(Und mol eidütig schwizer ;) )

Game of One by Dohan 2013-12-30T13:26:00

Two?

Don't forget your old shipmate by Dining Philosopher 2013-12-17T15:23:00

I see you and I had the exact same game idea. :D The only difference is that in my game you have to fight the pirates. (And of course your graphics are far nicer.)

Cool game. It's quite hard to sink the enemy ships.

And I really like your song! Well done!

Hasty Santa by LeCherLich 2013-12-16T17:23:00

This game is really hard. Is it even possible to win or do I have to just get as many points as possible?

I really like the style of the graphics.

O.N.E. Says by NightShadow0 2013-12-20T19:17:00

Great game idea, absolutely hilarious! Too bad there are so few translations, I would have loved to play further...

PLANET HEALTH by kunzbe 2013-12-16T15:31:00

I wonder how you created the human squashing sound... ;)

Inquisition by drakekin 2013-12-17T21:43:00

This game has quite a compelling story. I like the randomly generated map and the lighting effects. The time limit based on dates is quite a good idea (even though I pretty sure I jumped back a month once.)

It is a bit too bad that the game is heavily luck-based.

(For me the arrow is displayed about 50 pixels over the town I'm actually in, is that intentional?)

Dare to Dig! by Mirroar 2013-12-17T02:31:00

My roommate just stormed intro my room to tell me his new high score at Dare to Dig. I think this is getting out of hand... One of the most addictive LD games I've ever played.

SchrotBeton by runvs 2013-12-20T19:08:00

Nice little RPG! Though I must agree with the other comments that the controls need a bit of polishing, magic is too powerful, while melee is nearly useless.

You Only Get One (Direction) by enosshenk 2013-12-17T15:01:00

Ugh... I'm not sure if I want to be One Direction. But at least 4 of 5 of them plus Justin Bieber got killed during the game, so I guess it's okay. ;)

Funny twist on the theme. Well done!

The Adventures of Yogo by Lazdo 2013-12-17T21:04:00

Nice game with cute graphics. I really like it. The time constraint makes the game nearly unbeatable. You did a great job on the tutorial for the controls: simple and intuitiv.

(FYI the game crashed three times while loading a level)

Wedding Rush by olafsworld98 2014-01-01T23:36:00

Cute story and graphics. The jumping sprite is funny. I like that you combined a platformer, a vehicle sequence and top-down view. Well done!

One Bullet by bttf 2013-12-17T15:31:00

Really funny game. But I must admit, that I had to look at the comments to find the solution.

Only one bullet/rectangle thing. by ob6160 2013-12-16T17:34:00

Quite a nice puzzle game. I really like that the angles are counterintuitive. Is it intentional that the bullet flies to the left of your aim?

It would be nice if you didn't have to redo all the levels when you fail.

You can only get peace by Before Light 2013-12-17T14:29:00

Interesting idea and nice graphics.

Impressive Dog by EricTheCoolDude 2013-12-17T22:04:00

Amazing graphics and art style! And a cute story! Well done!

The keyboard controls are a bit too sensitive tough.

Hairy Cave by Atridas 2014-01-01T18:04:00

Really cool graphics style, love it! I also like how the camera adapts to the situation. Nicely structured level design, though it could have a bit more variety, like more types of enemies. The controls and mechanics might need a bit more polishing. For example, it would be nice if the character would move with the moving platforms.

Princess Kingdom by ncannasse 2013-12-30T13:03:00

Wow, what an amazing game! Love the story, the graphics the mood...

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Delve by conormn 2014-05-06T01:46:00

I'm not sure if this technically qualifies as a game, but that art is just awesome! Well done!

Hot Diggity by DragonXVI 2014-05-06T15:09:00

Wow! Definitely the best game I've played so far! I can't even find something to criticize. It's just perfect!

Blue waves by dector 2014-05-05T23:07:00

We need more games with a relax mode! :D Well done!

Switcher by ehtd 2014-05-10T21:58:00

I like the graphics. It would be nice if there was a way to keep score, like how many seconds you survived, because it seems to me that it's quite impossible to beat the game.

Carnival Warfare by pinkmonkeyhead 2014-05-06T01:30:00

Awesome game idea, graphics and mood. Just brilliant. Way too hard though.

What does it have to do with beneath the surface? Is it the harsh working environment that exists beneath the surface of carnival fairs?

Dark Depths by jwin 2014-04-30T20:30:00

Wow, great game! Love the gameplay and graphics.

The Legend of the Thunder Fish by BMacIntosh 2014-05-06T14:42:00

Great game! Funny little background story, comfortable physics, fun gameplay and great music. I'm just not sure what happend when I gave money to the town folk.

Deep Sea Mission by xandy 2014-05-05T20:48:00

I like the game mechanic of having to balance the three systems.
The pace of the game is a bit slow though, I think the difficulty would actually be higher if the game was a bit faster.

sirtet by ahnt 2014-05-03T00:27:00

Reverse tetris! What a great idea!

I like the music too! ;)

Crustacean Farm by LandoSystems 2014-05-06T17:46:00

Wow! This is a great game! Took me quite some time to understand what the different resources do, but once you get a hang of it, it's quite rewarding. Well done!

Tenkosei ROBO by radmars 2014-04-30T20:16:00

If I had had this game as a kid I would defently be able to type faster now! :D

I love this game! Great way of combining storytelling and gameplay.

Gold Diver by SirJson 2014-04-30T20:50:00

Nice and clean game idea, I like it! It kind of reminds me of Dare to Dig from LD28.

You might want to make the width of the character's collision box smaller. It is extremely hard to get into a already-built tunnel from the top.

Wriggle Worm by gikdew 2014-05-10T21:48:00

Simple concept, but well polished! Well done!

Dead men tell no tales by aaronjbaptiste 2014-05-13T15:03:00

Simple, but well polished game!

It would be nice to have a bit more influence on the situation. For example if one could place the pirates on deck. Another idea I had: earn interest on the money you have at the end of a wave.

Organ Run by kunzbe 2014-04-30T20:41:00

I think you should get yourself checked out, having multiple hearts can't be healthy ;)

Underground Minions by Shinxs 2014-05-05T22:24:00

This looks like an awesome game idea. Unfortunately I tried all permutations of the action blocks and wasn't able to pass the first pit fall in the second level. No matter which action block I placed, my minions seemed to do the same thing.

A few comments:
- The game opens in a window in which I cannot see the entire level.
- The game crashes when I switch to the first level while I'm in the second level.
- Removing action blocks of any kind increases the number of action block of the first kind in my inventory.

I hope you get around to finishing the game, it looks quite promising. By the way, the music is great too.

Trench War by Deity 2014-05-05T20:38:00

Simple but well-implemented game. Good job!
Perhaps you could add a way to let new soldiers spawn or upgrade/train your current soldiers.

The Last Beacon by Katamori 2014-05-06T01:16:00

Good game concept and nice use of the individual elements. The levels are well thought-through, though the difficulty of the levels is a bit random. The last two levels are a bit too complex to solve strategically.

I like the weird story. (Why am I anubis?)

Overall, good job!

A little bug: The light beam doesn't update sometimes when braking through blocks horizontally.

Tetrix Zone by eskivor 2014-05-06T00:24:00

Good game concept. But it's a bit too easy at the moment.

BTW you should include the source of the game.

Not All Of Them Died (And They had Beef) by gapgen 2014-05-06T12:37:00

And that's why most people play CoD or Battlefield. Shooting nameless characters is just so much more fun than being reminded of how devastating war is...

The grave generator is very good, the inscriptions are very believable. I first wanted to say that there is not enough things to do, but I think adding features would have ruined the experience. Walking along the graves and imagining the lives of those people (even if they are fictitious) is quite saddening. Well done!

Back To the Surface by Ken Ichi 2014-04-30T20:07:00

Now I feel sorry for my characters for all the times I fell into a hole in a platformer game... ;)

This is quite a difficult game (or I'm just really bad at it). Good work for 24 hours! And I hope we will see your other game some time in the future.

The Enemy Within by paps 2014-05-10T18:48:00

I didn't know aliens liked big cardboard stars... ;)

Nice game concept. I liked the general mood and the maze-like level.

the vole beneath by mcapraro 2014-05-10T18:38:00

Great game concept. I hope you get around to finishing it!

It Came from Beneath the Surface of the Sea! by JavadocMD 2014-05-05T22:34:00

Haha I defeated Zungo Corp! This is quite a funny game.
It would been nice if one could down the helicopters.

Mole escape by davidc. 2014-05-03T11:06:00

This game is really hard. I only rarely made it past the first jump and never made it over the second. It would be nice to have some kind of indication where the worms are going come out of the ground.

I like the double jump ability, which needs the right amount of practice to get a hang of.

The collision detection is a bit glitchy, I was able to get past the first jump several times without actually jumping.

The 3D models and especially the music are really good.

Strung Out by valid4life 2014-05-06T12:45:00

Not bad for one and a half hours! Good job!

It would be nice if the fishing line would go down in a continuous fashion and would be able to reach the bottom. It is quite frustrating to not be able to catch all the fish (even though I guess it's like that in real life, too).

Water Beneath Mars by Crawler Studios 2014-05-06T13:07:00

Wow, quite impressive! I love it when you have to explore a world, even in a small game.

The map repeats itself a bit too much though, it would be more challenging if there were more obstacles and more complex caves/tunnels. The batteries could also recharge faster, just sitting around waiting for them to recharge is boring.

But overall well done!

MINER ESCAPE!! by NickRock 2014-05-03T11:19:00

Nice and simple gameplay, and well implemented. Had fun playing this game. It would be nice though, if the difficulty would increase more. I got to level 50 and it felt as hard as level 1.

The collision boxes are a bit to large, which can be frustrating (which is perhaps the intent).

But overall good job!

John The Miner by iceferret 2014-05-03T11:32:00

"Trying to fix it and make it work" is the main thing you have to do while making games ;)

I actually think you already got quite far with the game. The wall jumping mechanic is definitly well done. The music is also quite good. But when I got to the room with all the green squares my framerate fell to about a frame every three seconds, which made it unplayable.

2Metersbeneath by DrStahlbart 2014-05-03T11:39:00

Well done for your first game! I like the pixel art graphics. It would be nice if there some random events, or if the bugs on the surface had some effect on the guy.

(My guy was doing fine, he had 0 hunger, 5 thirst and 100 health... and then he died. What did I do wrong?)

Beneath the Surface by Snoother 2014-05-06T02:13:00

This game is horrible. I don't want to question the morality of what I'm doing. I want a game to present what's right and what's wrong in black and white.

One of the best games I've played. Brilliant atmosphere and great sound. The perverse and nearly erotic descriptions are perfect. 5/5

Rat King by woodenrabbit 2014-05-06T13:28:00

Congrats on implementing the flocking algorithm! Quite impressive!

A few comments:
Is there a way to weight the player's mouse more? It's horribly frustrating when you have a big flock following you and then another mouse walks by and the flock starts following it.
The controls are a bit counter-intuitive. As the other mice can move in all directions, I expected that I could also move in any direction. Therefore I expected the left and right arrows to turn my mouse, but instead they moved it on the x axis.
I don't hear any sound while playing the game. Did I miss something?

Crystals by Wir 2014-05-06T18:22:00

Wow! This is an amazing game. The pace of the game is a bit too slow though. But if it weren't for that, I could play this for hours.

A few comments:
The maps feel too large. After 15 minutes I got 5 of 37 crystals on an easy map. That's kind of discouraging.
I found it hard to distinguish between idle and non-idle dwarves. A bit more animation could fix that.
I also had problems remembering which dwarf I had assigned to which block. It would be nice if one could see which blocks were currently being mined.

What lies beneath the Temple by oobie 2014-05-03T11:45:00

This game is really funny. I like how you build up my hopes with "is this gras?" and then smash them with an empty room. ;)

Good job!

Ambassador to the Deep by misterwalter 2014-05-10T22:38:00

Yay! I beat the game. Took me quite a lot of tries.

Hard but beatable game. The controls and the difficulty feel quite polished. Well done!

First timer effort. :) by igpollitzer 2014-05-10T21:26:00

Funny background story! :D

It took me some time to understand what I had to do, and I honestly must say that I wasn't able to complete the game. After several tries I was able to push one object to the left side, but that's how far I got.

It would be nice if there were a bit of feedback. Sometimes the screen turns black (is that when you are caught by your mother?), sometimes you cannot lift the table cloth even if she's not looking and sometimes you can only lift it for an instant. I don't quite get it.

But anyway: congrats on your first game! Keep up the hard work! :)

No Hawking by jellymann 2014-05-10T21:41:00

I like how you use the universe as a level selection where the player can enter the white holes to play a level

The fights are extremely hard. It would be nice if the health of my probe would replenish. Or if it would be possible to earn a new probe.

It's nice how you used the concept of white holes as the game's background story.

ShipMates by friken 2014-05-06T01:51:00

Wow, amazing graphics and mood.

Drill by LinusPrime 2014-05-07T01:41:00

Wow, nice combination of puzzle and reflex elements. Well done!

I like the abstract aliens ;)

Lazor Fish by REDACTED 2014-05-10T21:11:00

Haha. Funny game.

I really like that you can drain the pond. Gives quite a twist to the game.

Sometimes the enemy fish spawn too close to you and you have no time to react. I honestly never was able to drain my pool (even though I tried), because I always died due to a fish spawning too close.

It also crashed once:
FATAL ERROR in
action number 1
of Step Event0
for object spwn_evil_fish:

Push :: Execution Error - Variable Get -1.spawnClear(100015, -1)
at gml_Object_spwn_evil_fish_Step_0

Save your tribe! by FrameMatt 2014-05-06T14:28:00

A cute and fun game! And nice graphics!

The background sound is a bit laggy for me though.

Amazing! Beneath The Surface by nonetheless 2014-05-06T00:35:00

Quite an interesting game concept! Good job! Though it is a bit on the hard side.

It would be nice to see where the ball ended up on the death screen. I gave up after I failed a level ten times because I had no idea how much progress I was making or how close I was to the berries.

The Loudest Ballerina by whalebot 2014-05-06T14:59:00

Haha this game is really funny! Well done!

Drowning in Problems by Notch 2014-05-06T00:10:00

I rarely feel sad after playing a Ludum Dare game. But I think that's good. We need games to feel sad sometimes.

Quantum Tunnelling by Toby Pinder 2014-05-05T22:55:00

This is quite an interesting game concept. Though the game is a bit too luck-based in my opinion. It is quite frustrating when you have several shops around you but none offer fuel, or only for a resource that you can't get. Maybe if the shops didn't disappear it would let the player build up a "base" around a few strategic shops. Still, good job!

Persona by GFM 2014-05-13T15:12:00

Nice game idea, and good take on the theme.

Room Cleaning Simulator 2014 by lokijki 2014-05-06T01:40:00

Haha your game is funny. I cleaned up a room which was weirdly satifsying, then I got cookies, then I had to fight a cookie king. I'm not sure what just happend. But definitly well done!

Arctic Antics by Miltage 2014-05-06T14:50:00

Am I really bad at this game or is it just really hard? I never got more than 4 pages.

Needless to say but great graphics, great sound and great game as a whole.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Nexxuz by rustybroomhandle 2014-09-05T18:12:00

Using Minecraft to create levels... Brilliant! :D

A Galaxy United by MarekkPie 2014-09-04T15:14:00

Great puzzle game! Really like the difficulty and the different combinations of the three characters.

The controls of Baz are a bit hard to master. And the red/green connection level crashes on my computer:
src/states/levels/level.lua:131 : attempt to index field 'exit' (a nil value)

But otherwise a really good game, would have loved to play more levels.

Someone's gotta do it by Catmoo 2014-09-03T14:13:00

Haha, this is a funny one. I especially like the pixel art graphics and the janitor's grumbling sounds. :D

Sleeping takes a bit too long, and it would be nice if you could interrupt sleeping. (If you keep pressing the arrow keys while sleeping, you can actually sleepwalk, which is great, but I assume it's a bug.)

After a while the tiredness and hunger bars stopped going down, I don't know why. And then the game suddenly ended. Is it possible that the bars weren't updating?

Anyway, I enjoyed playing this game! Well done!

Signum by brookman 2014-09-12T21:48:00

Wow! Amazing graphics!

Nice to see another Swiss entry! I'm not sure how you figured out that I'm also Swiss, but great! :D

Or|Bit by blurryroots 2014-08-27T01:25:00

Nice game concept. I really like the graphics with the icons and numbers, reminds me of some complex space strategy game.

I'm not sure about the difficulty, I found level 3 extremely hard, while level 4 was really easy. But maybe I just played it wrong.

I would be great if the network of planets/moons/satellites were more extensive and maze-like. Like that the player would really have to think through which planets he would need to hack.

Galactic Paperboy by Aaants 2014-09-02T22:10:00

I'm really sorry you got unfriendly comments on newgrounds, because I think this is one of the best games I've played so far.

The graphics and the physics are great, the game is just really hard. :D

And this game als reminds me of my own entry (which - unlike yours - is bad).

Your world! by Julgodis 2014-09-03T16:28:00

Score: 29127 (Not sure if that's good or bad)

Great game idea, graphics and sound!

Drug Reality World by Bougou 2014-09-04T14:51:00

The music creates a quite impressive atmosphere. You really feel like on a bad trip.

I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to do, though. I found the entrance to the second level, but I couldn't go further. Perhaps a metaphor for drug addiction?

Super Shaker X by voxel 2014-09-12T21:56:00

I love the character selection. Very funny! :D

Isra & Miraj: "A Night Journey" by grillaface 2014-09-04T18:14:00

Well, thankfully there is Wikipedia. I searched for "Isra & Miraj" and now this game makes much more sense!

Great take on the theme!

Circling Circles by Linus Lindberg 2014-09-02T22:35:00

Wow! Great game! Feels really polished!

Made it to 102 points.

Delivery by Cheshyr 2014-08-28T13:35:00

Nearly made it to two deliveries... I was just missing one item. :(

It's too bad the tuning is off, I really like the the item-collecting part, reminds me of CCG games. The collecting aspect could be even more interesting if the individual resources had different rarity values. Or if each item had a different weight and you could only carry a certain amount.

The items' descriptions are really funny. Well done!

Cesarino's Friendly Interplanetary Delivery Service by ZYXer 2014-08-29T20:16:00

@KingBolonzo: I tested it on an old laptop and had 50 fps. Did you try another browser?

Does someone else have this problem?

Cells by Xanjos 2014-09-05T18:03:00

A very simple game. And I mean this in a good way.

Here's an idea: how about each player can program their own AI, and then you can let your AI fight against the opponent's AI. This game would be a perfect for such a competition.

Hypertonic by JM-DG 2014-09-05T14:50:00

A really good game idea. And actually quite fun to play, took me over 20 tries before I won.

It's a bit too bad that you are so dependent on the RNG god. Sometimes you die within 5 seconds.

Space Taxi by glocks 2014-09-05T17:51:00

Okay, either you stole my idea or I stole yours, but our games are far too similar.

Admittedly your sound is much better than mine. (Though that's not difficult, considering that I have no sound at all.) But your radio stations are hilarious! I could listen to them all day. :D

Spacewatch by SleepyStudios 2014-08-27T00:08:00

Quite innovative and promissing game mechanic!

I really like the look of the procedurally generated levels. But I have the feeling that the difficulty of the individual tasks is a bit arbitrary.

Worlds Without End: Zen Edition by meeech 2014-08-27T00:20:00

Nice planet generator! Looks like the beginning of a promising game! ;)

Daily Space by Navel 2014-09-05T15:20:00

Great take on the clicker genre! I could have played this game for another 20 hours :D

So our travel through hyperspace took us to Ludum Dare 38? That's impressive! ;)

Connect Similar by BloodJohn 2014-08-28T14:03:00

Wow, I made it to 40... now my eyes hurt...

Quite difficult and hypnotising game. Well done!

Come Creatures, Come pls by okmmjyygv 2014-09-04T19:01:00

It took me quite some time to get a hang of this game, but I finally made it in 750 seconds.

I like the graphics and the way the animals interact with the items. Quite fun!

Planetary Hack by TheBurningHat 2014-09-03T15:53:00

I really like this game. Nice combination of strategy and "clicking" game.

It is a bit too bad that the game let's you cheat quite a bit. For example you can hack your own planets and you can also repeatedly click "hire" to find the best employee. Once you figured that out, you can get all planets with no effort.

It was still quite a lot of fun to play, and with a bit of tweeking, it could be a really good game!

Sinister by Joe Williamson 2014-09-05T19:46:00

Awesome graphics, awesome sound, awesome atmosphere ...and a very short story ;)

Computer, Open That Door! by pLaw 2014-08-30T19:16:00

Took me 4 tries to finally kill the entire crew.

Great concept, graphics and music! Love it!

Supernova by Robert 2014-08-27T01:56:00

This was surprisingly fun! :D I thought I had understood the game when suddenly the red supernova started to rise from the bottom and I started to lose my planets.

I really like the way the supernova makes the planets smaller. it would be nice though, if the player could see how far away the supernova is before it appears on the screen.

I think you should give impatient players a bit more information, like: You need to build the thrusters in three steps (each costing 500/500/500).

The "x/5 sec" format in the top left is a bit confusing. At first I thought if meant "x of 5 per second" and not "x per 5 seconds", so I only built 5 woodcutters, waterfillers and sanddiggers.

But overall, well done!

Sleep by Snoother 2014-09-04T16:21:00

Wow, that was quite a moving story! I felt especially touched, as I was in a very similar situation when I was that age, and I know these kind of dreams all too well.

Definitely the best LD game I've played so far.

(Who do I reach if I call the number that ends in 763? :D)

Disconnected Keyboard by Aomeas 2014-09-04T18:39:00

The innovation is strong in this one. ;)

Really hard, but also quite fun.

I nearly beat your record with 397.5 seconds.

Door2Door by mlabarca 2014-08-27T00:26:00

Cool game idea. Too bad there is only two levels. I hope you get around to making more.

And nice graphics!

Lady Lyla by whalebot 2014-09-05T13:04:00

Aww what a sad ending.

Great graphics and a great take on the theme!

Who Plays the Player? by harko12 2014-08-27T02:10:00

Quite interesting concept. Is there currently any other way to interact with the scene then moving camera?

TrainSim 4000 by smbe19 2014-09-03T15:08:00

Wow! I've been thinking about making a train game for LD for quite some time, but I never quite figured out the gameplay. This is a great solution. Well done!

The cost of the upgrades isn't quite balanced, I found the cheapest was just to connect all cells as a grid. Plus selling tracks doesn't make any sense, as your money balance can go negative.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the game. I would love to see it with better graphics!

Parallel Rift by liquidminduk 2014-09-05T13:24:00

Took me over 20 tries to get the first guy to the vortex. But once I found a route, it was relatively easy, I made it to 4 guys.

Great game mechanic! I really like the art style, too!

Faux Golf by Graydom 2014-09-02T22:26:00

Great game idea. And well implemented physics.

It would be nice if the player had a bit more overview or some kind of hint to where the goal lies. Most shots I did were just to fly around the planet to find the goal.

I like the music! :D

OmniCorp by tigerbyte 2014-08-27T02:25:00

That was quite stressful! :P

Well done for you first Ludum Dare! This is a hard, but also fun game!

Familiaris by Greg Klein 2014-09-02T22:46:00

Wow! Amazing story!

I like how you used the theme to connect the dog's world with the human world.

WARBLE WORLDS by pjimmy 2014-09-02T21:48:00

It took me some time to understand what I had to do. I first thought that I had to use the blue bubbles as teleporters to the blue world, and the orange bubbles to the orange world and then find an exit.

But once I figured it out, I really liked the game concept. It would be nice if there was more feedback when you can't teleport (though I like the frowny face). The controls are a bit glitchy, but apart from that it is quite a fun game.

Congratulations on you first LD game!

A Frog's Task of Life by V_V 2014-08-28T12:48:00

After what feels like 50 tries to cross the road, I finally found the passage below...

I like how you made a puzzle game disguised as a platformer.

Spirit's Revenge by Four Quarters 2014-09-03T14:23:00

Great game mechanics idea, and I really love the graphics and the music.

The controls are a bit too fiddly for my taste. (But perhaps I'm just bad at platformers.)

Hobo Quest by homeworld 2014-09-03T16:10:00

Wow! the Graphics of this game are absolutely great. And I really like the different hallucination levels and the whole allusion to Wolfenstein. The levels are procedurally generated too, aren't they?

But the game was far too hard for me. In more than 20 tries, I wasn't able to pass the second level. Am I just really bad?

Alice Anxiety by jukimv1986 2014-09-05T12:50:00

Agoraphobia!

I really like the game mechanic with knowledge. It would be a great way to teach people more about anxiety. Rewarding each step with more "knowledge", i.e. information on agoraphobia.

Invaduhrs by bigbadwofl 2014-09-05T20:03:00

Awesome graphics. And the music is some of the best I've ever heard for a LD game.

I have a quite old computer and I had to stop playing after a while because the frame rate was getting lower and lower.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Cell #327 by Aurel Bílý 2014-12-13T00:38:00

I got ending 1 and 3. Quite an atmosphere you created there.
I really like the story.

Adventure Cows by PapaCheech 2014-12-09T23:24:00

Reminds me of Farming Simulator... you know, because of the farming...

Rarely laughed so much because of a LD game :D

Lil Dungeon Wizard by BoaHeck_ArtGent 2014-12-12T20:27:00

Nice game with cute graphics. I really like the procedurally generated levels, thats always a nice addition to a game.

I think you might have a memory prblem with the break wall sound. I got more and more lag each time I broke a wall.

Super Death Grid Of Death (with deadly beats) by Stending 2014-12-13T15:49:00

Nice simple graphics and game principle. I really like the interface of the title screen.

Nice sound, too!

BBQ DAD by Luke Molnar 2014-12-12T02:05:00

Haha, very funny game. I really like the audio!

It would be nice if you could throw out burned or wrongly-chosen food.

Avian Avoidance by cleitoneldorn 2014-12-13T00:45:00

This game is even harder than flappy bird, and at least as addictive.

I made it to 5... yay..

Space Taxi by Jaenis 2014-12-12T01:50:00

Great physics game! I didn't make it past the third level with two weights, but thats probably due my lack to patience. :)

I really love the level transitions, so simple, but really cool looking.

Pipe Quest by Hot Box Games 2014-12-12T02:21:00

Cute art style and nice graphics in general. The tutorial levels are also well thought-through. But the other levels are reeeeally hard, and I'm not a very patient person. ;)

(By the way, you got the LD number wrong on the game page, it's LD 31, not LD 30 ;) )

Hop & Chop by Pat Kemp 2014-12-12T20:13:00

Haha, fun game. I really like one button games. :D

Super Screen Saver by Dokthar 2014-12-12T23:32:00

Well that's a short and intense game! :D

Nice graphics and music.

Coming Soon by March 2014-12-10T00:39:00

No... my precious... i mean, my popcorn. :D

Quite an intriguing beginning, really like the idea. Too bad that it is so short.

Nice lighting effects! And nice use of the theme! :D

TAB SHOOT by ynots 2014-12-12T22:18:00

Funny, hectic game. It would be nice if you could see how much life you got left or at least when you are being hit.

Graphics are well done!

Turn a cave! by Night 2014-12-12T22:40:00

Interesting puzzle game. The pace is a bit slow, but the conecpt quite promissing. Reminds me a bit of "Dare to Dig!" from LD28.

A MAZE inc by 5you 2014-12-13T18:20:00

I like the graphics and the music. I especially like the level transitions, well done!

Blockade Runner by Kopeph Developers 2014-12-12T01:58:00

Cool graphics, quite trippy! The use of several colors gives this kind of game a completely new depth, well done!

I also really like the procedurally generated levels, too bad the rooms sometimes don't connect.

Dogs Peeing Everywhere by matt125 2014-12-09T23:15:00

That must be a stinky neighborhood! ^^

Simple but fun idea. A multiplayer version of this game would be great :D

Rigmarole by team_popup 2014-12-18T18:39:00

Orion by feiss 2014-12-12T02:37:00

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Pandarmageddon by blob 2015-04-27T00:46:00

Haha, this is quite an good (and funny) mechanic. :D I really like how each arm has its own healthbar and food. The graphics are also quite fitting. I wished there was a bit more warning of the UFO beam, through.

By the way, thank you very much for your comment on my jam/post jam version. I put some thought into it. I really don't want to cheat, so I agree that it's important that people play and rate the jam version. However, I fear that if the people have the choice, they will only play the jam version and not get the core principle of my game (the building of the airship). So I've chosen the following solution: The embeded version is still the post jam version, but I now clearly state that in the description. The first link below is now the jam version, so that people can play that too and rate the game.

Adventure Lamp by ryguydavis 2015-05-03T20:27:00

Depressopia by ZYXer 2015-04-26T16:57:00

@ManoS
Your first ship doesn't have enough upward acceleration. You can take a propeller, rotate it by pressing the R key and place it looking upwards.

Combine Carnage by acro 2015-04-27T01:24:00

This game is hilarous, good looking and fun to play! Best game I've seen so far! Well done!

Wink Murder by 2kah 2015-05-03T20:44:00

Are there really 30 cubes? I found 29 and I've been looking for the last for 10 minutes. :(

Very original game idea! I like it!

Speechless by MonoS 2015-04-26T17:10:00

Quite unique idea with the words that you have to learn. It took me some time to understand the key bindings, but i guess that is part of the game's learning experience. :D Is the language procedurally generated?

To answer your question about my game:
Your first ship doesn't have enough upward acceleration. You can take a propeller, rotate it by pressing the R key and place it looking upwards.

The Happy One by x1212 2015-04-27T00:30:00

This is really the opposite of my game! :D
I really like the art style, did you really draw it on paper and scan it in? It surely would be a cheap alternative to a pen tablet :D
I also like the combination between the agility mechanic of the air vents and the puzzle mechanic of the happiness.

Size-o-Tron 3000 by SamH 2015-05-03T21:13:00

Good platformer. I like that idea with the shrink/expand gun. It would be nice if the player had a little bit of acceleration, would make the player more controlable.

Tsurara Donna by Thingo Studios 2015-04-27T01:15:00

Great game! I like the arcade-style graphics and sounds. The ice spear mechanic is quite interesting. I wasn't able to ground pound, how exactly does that work?

All You Need Is Love by belowzerogames 2015-05-01T23:08:00

The goal of the game sounds kind of familiar ;) I like the 3D/2D graphics of the characters and the trees. I had huge problems even converting one enemy. Am i doing something wrong?

Haters Gonna Love by Floko 2015-04-26T17:17:00

Haha, funny game! Controls feel smooth and the graphics are great, too. And the awesomeness is truely pure awesomeness! :D

Grannihilator by StabAlarash 2015-05-03T21:04:00

Wow, awesome graphics and really cute and funny game! Well done!

Death By Pointer by Squarlboy 2015-04-27T01:04:00

Quite an addictive game! I really like how this game plays with your instict to use the mouse to move your character. I think nearly each time I died was because I touched my player with the cursor while I was unconciously trying to make him move. Really good entry for your first LD.

Cows vs Clowns by agirreb 2015-05-03T21:48:00

I like games with a deep background story. The symbolism of the cows and the clowns deeply moved me...

One of the most funny entries I've played so far! :D Simple, and fun to play! Sometimes I had the feeling that the shooot command was not responding.

Frisbee Fetus Bombs by jacketsj 2015-04-26T16:01:00

Frisbee Fetuses... that's definitely the most "unconventional" weapon I've seen so far :D

Great game mechanic with the conversion of enemies, I also like that your troops fire in the opposite direction. Overall a quite addictive game!

Text WarZ by Haider 2015-05-03T20:07:00

I really like the game idea. If there were more commands or more difficult enemies, it would be really challenging. With just one command, your fingers kind of get used to typing the same command over and over again. Anyway, made it to 80 kills.

AKIMBO by gnx 2015-05-01T22:58:00

I like the idea, I especially like how you can position your previous AKIMBO warriors by pushing them around. It would be nice if you could see where the next wave spawns, so you can place the warriors strategically.

Defendz by Foxarya 2015-05-01T23:17:00

Very simple concept, but works very well! I need more Nokia 3310 in real life! :D It would be nice if there were more enemy types.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Aglæca by philomory 2015-08-31T15:29:00

Really good game! I like that you based it on a historical tale! The game mechanic is simple but challenging.

... and the inhabitants of TestName kept killing me ;) Is there any way to restore health?

Takodemon by Split82 2015-08-31T18:32:00

5/5... I don't know what to add...

Glitches-vs-Pix by kunzbe 2015-08-27T22:41:00

I love seeing my glitches slowly eating their way through the screen :D

Always go for speed upgrades, you will beat levels in no time! (And the music gets faster and faster, which is awesome!)

Purge by Lukbebalduke 2015-08-31T18:05:00

Wow, amazing job! great graphics, great sound. And great gameplay. One of the most advanced Compo entries I've ever seen.

Creature Power by Empyrealhell 2015-08-31T17:41:00

Hehe, funny game! Great take on the theme!

I wished there would be more explosions, or generally random things flying across the screen.

I mean this as a compliment: The controls are horrible! :D

The music/sound is also great, by the way!

A Monster Is You! by person124 2015-08-30T22:55:00

Awesome game idea! I guess you could call it turn-based stealth! Kind of reminds me of Hitman Go.

However I got to a level, were for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to solve the level.

I also actually also really like the graphics. Very simple, but actually kind of fitting.

Monstrous Clicker by Nizl 2015-08-28T17:07:00

Congratulations on yor first LD entry!

Nice little game. It would be nice if there were a bit more challenges. Like faster moving enemies or good guys who nearly look like bad guys.

I really like the sounds. :D well done!

Dial M for Monster by AAGH Games 2015-08-31T14:52:00

Awesome use of typography! In general, good graphics and sound. Simple, but quite captivating game mechanic. Though, I think if the day/night cycle was a bit faster, you wouldn't have to wait around quite as long during the day.

R-ADIUS by MrTwister 2015-08-31T10:02:00

Wow great game mechanic. Quite addictive! The AI of the spaceship feels very human.

Is there an end to the game? I stopped playing when I would easly beat the four spaceships within a few seconds.

Monstrus by rouflaquettes 2015-08-31T18:13:00

Wow, quite a good result for your first game. Nice graphics and sound, and simple but difficult gameplay. I wasn't able to get to the second floor, is that a bug?

Nimble by Lynx 2015-08-31T18:21:00

Awesome art and atmosphere! Great game mechanic, but i wished there would be additional challenges.

Mash It Down by Antonio Elizio 2015-08-29T15:09:00

Great game mechanic. And awesome graphics, looks really nice!

But I must say that the one level is really hard (or I'm just really incompetent, as I see other found it too easy). Perhaps the inner surface of the monster bars could be less bent. (or at least in early levels.

And awesome music, by the way!

Mash It Down by Antonio Elizio 2015-08-29T15:11:00

Thank you for your comments on my game, by the way. Out of interest: In which way don't the graphics match together?

The Hunted by Jakob37 2015-08-28T20:11:00

I really like the game mechanics. Nice combination of platformer and puzzle game. Well done!

The lighting effects are also quite nice. It's a bit too bad that the background has lower resolution pixel art than the foreground graphics. Doesn't quite fit together in my opinion.

And real good music! Too bad that the loop is so short and ends so abruptly.

You are the Hero by rotpar 2015-08-29T16:03:00

Haha really funny character selection! :D

Nice game! Real good level design!

It's Sunday by bigbuggames 2015-08-30T22:45:00

Wow, amazing interpretation of the theme! Congrats! :D Love the sound, love the simple but frustratingly difficult banging-the-keyboard mechanic! :D

Snacker by ToloaGames 2015-08-29T16:24:00

Well it seems that being focused like a laser payed off! Quite fun game to play.

It would be nice if one could shoot in all directions, not only up/down/left/right.

Don't be too hard on your self about the graphics and the sound. There are decent, I've seen far far worse.

You are the Dragon by koniu699 2015-08-28T17:01:00

Nice game. I really like the health "bar". Very funny :D The animations of the archers are also quite nice.

I'm not quite sure what I was supposed to use the forward fire breath for. To defend against arrows?

Damn, those clouds are fast!

A Matter of Survival by Cruzer_AU 2015-08-29T16:18:00

Haha funny game. The sounds and the graphics remind me strongly of GTA 2. Enjoyed playing it!

The Mammoth: A Cave Painting by inbetweengames 2015-08-31T12:53:00

This game is gorgeous! And with a really sad story.

One of the best LD games I've ever seen!

WeirdTornadoThing by Solocov 2015-08-31T08:57:00

Quite fun to play! Especially when the tornado becomes really huge. The graphics of the tornado are also quite realisitic looking.

(You should repack the RAR file so that others don't have to copy around files to get your game to work).

PixelMonster by shawn42 2015-08-30T22:35:00

First I thought "oh no, not another platformer". But with the color mixing mechanic it gets really interesting! You should definitely develop the idea further!

The Curse of Koomba by Eldan_Knight 2015-08-29T15:39:00

Great game idea, I like that you based your idea on Super Mario 1-1 level.

The graphics are awesome. Too bad you didn't have time to implement sound.

Cool Alien Dudes by Daisuke909 2015-08-31T09:46:00

Haha really funny game. Great game idea, cool story (obviously) and good sounds.

I love that you can choose different UFOs and upgrade your UFO.

Two things:
- I never used cloaking. I made it through the game without problems without it.
- People with non-QWERTY keyboards don't have the Z and X next to each other, so it's hard to switch between both actions (that might be the reason I never used cloaking)

They Came in the Night by kakuremino 2015-08-30T23:53:00

Really fun game, quite an atmosphere you create with the music and the story. I was really disappointed when it ended, I could have gone on for a few more "times".

This is a great way to tell the story. Having to decypher all the things being said gets you quite hooked to the story.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

DESEEDER by Zanzlanz 2015-12-29T22:54:00

Wow, amazing graphics, I love the diamond-shaped pixels! And awesome sound! Gameplay isn't that innovative, but fun nonetheless. Well done!

Journey of a Ball by guoboism 2015-12-17T00:22:00

Nice puzzle game. I like the graphics and the background story. Giving a puzzle game a relateable story is a very good idea.

BallBall Babbaballoo! by Spencer Alves 2015-12-29T22:28:00

Good game idea! I like how you can control the speed, but still have a minimum speed, so you are constantly under pressure.

The difficulty curve is quite tough, but that can be good.

Garden Grow by justinooncx 2015-12-23T03:49:00

Awesome game concept! Graphics and music fit the mood. Well done!

You can't see but you can feel by Cliff Lee CL 2015-12-23T04:01:00

Wow! such an awesome game concept! I'm impressed.

At first I found it kind of frustrating, but then I closed my eyes and it became really relaxing ...though the music gets repetitive after a while ;)

And either my headphones or my ears are broken, but I wasn't able to find all music boxes in level 2.

It would be cool to see the map and the path you took after you completed each level.

Mowing by globemaster 2015-12-23T03:38:00

Congratulations on your first LD submission!

Simple, but good idea, controls feel right, acceleration feels right, graphics fit together well.

However, I found the game a bit boring (that might be because I don't own a lawn). A bit of good background music could have made it quite a relaxing experience.

Curse of the Slime Queen by mike.cullingham 2015-12-29T22:46:00

Nice game concept. There was something with the slime queen spinning too fast or the controls not reacting, but I was never going in the direction I wanted to.

Otherwise the game feels quite solid. The particle and shader effects are quite cool.

Jungle Climb by squirrelbot 2015-12-29T22:34:00

Wow, really hard game. I couldn't react fast enough to get out of the way of boulders.

Nice graphics and music (even if not made by you).

Good tutorial, no explanation needed.

Survive the Moco by Geck0 2015-12-21T00:38:00

Congratulations on your first game!

Wow, that must be the hardest/shortest game ever! I made it to 6 seconds and killed 3 mocos! I'm really proud! :D

Good music!

(I'm not sure being able to use the mouse makes it a two-button game.)

Tangle Root by Tacohej 2015-12-23T03:25:00

Wow, awesome looking game, congratulations!

Great concept, good sound and good graphics. The difficulty of the levels is also well balanced. I also like how you introduce safe mode/cut mode.

Planets by lolgamer65 2015-12-29T23:19:00

Wow awesome idea! Love the sound and the general gameplay. I like how the game just closes when you lose, more games should do that :D And funny easter eggs!

A few comments:
- It would be nice if one could see the current population from the upgrade menu, as you have it open most of the time.
- The diseases are a bit too random. I once got one 3 seconds after starting the game, which killed me. I also had a disease that lasted about a minute, which was kind of unnecessarly long.
- I cannot click a button a second time if I just clicked it, which is frustrating, especially when changing pages.
- The decimals (see other comments)
- Why does free time decrease population growth?

(A purely astronomical question: Why does the moon take a day to orbit the earth, while the earth takes several days to revolve? :D)

Mega-Growth by w00terlol 2015-12-17T22:29:00

Nice twist on a classic two button game. I like how you have different worlds and each world has a bit different gameplay. The hitboxes of the obstacles are a bit big. I lost several hearts, even though I clearly would have missed the obstacle.

I didn't hear any sound. I assume there should be if I can vote on audio?

Last Fantasy Harvest Sun by AranHase 2015-12-17T23:29:00

Really cute graphics! And nice take on the theme! The mobs remind me of another game, I forgot which one ;)

The cows are a bit overpowered, at the end I had an income of 40000 per day (I had 80 cows) and could have easily bought more cows. (It would be nice if one could just stay in place and get 1 cow/seed per second.

I like that the player can choose when do attack the enemies, I wished that there was a bit of a time pressure, because I just waited untill I could buy the diamond sword.

Moonflower by GetDoSed 2015-12-17T23:50:00

Yay, I'm a moonflower. (So does this mean that sunflowers want to grow on the sun?)

Great game mechanic. Super simple and super fun!

HaS - The Directionnal Game by Horace Ribout 2015-12-23T02:36:00

Quite an interesting game idea! Confusing at first, but over time you get a hang of it.

Once I got stuck in a wall. I was able to free myself by turning back and forth a few times.

At the end I got to a room that has a small crack in the corner. Was I supposed to go through there? I wasn't able to.

Gardener Galaxy by pro-hat-switchers 2015-12-30T17:11:00

Wow, awesome sound and graphics. The game is quite hard, I think it's because it's not intuitive to press when the circle shrinks to the size of the button. I also wished the keys were next to each other, I kept shifting keys by accident.

But overall, well done! And good take on the theme!

A Glitch by sausage_squad 2015-12-17T22:13:00

Well, I congratulate the Sausage Squad to their first game!

The levels are a bit on the hard side or would need a bit more savepoints. I gave up after failing at the same spot for the 20th time.

Nice retro sound and graphics.

I'm not sure how the theme ties in. Is it that you start out with two controls?

LD35 — Shapeshift

Rubik's Plane by markusfisch 2016-04-26T21:28:00

Really good puzzle game! Simple and challenging at the same time! Well done!

Elements guide me by Erkberg 2016-04-27T20:35:00

I must honestly say that most LD platformers have frustratingly bad controls. So imagine my surprise when I started to play this game with has very smooth feeling controls! :D Also, graphics, sound and mood all fit well together. Well done!

I ran into a bug were I would spawn lying in the dead position. I could run/jump/shapeshift but as a human(cat) I was always lying with dark eyes.

I like that you considered players with AZERTY keyboards. Most people forget about that.

The Golden Sphere by smbe19 2016-04-26T21:45:00

Those are some frustrating levels! But awesome take on the theme and great mechanic.

I love the voice acting. Am I hearing a slight Swiss accent there? :P

Color Raid by Atmog 2016-04-27T21:18:00

Good game principle and well implemented. However i wasn't really able to develop a strategy how to use the color/shapeshifting. It would have been cool if you would have to look at color AND shape. And if all shape and color combinations hab different capabilities.

A Story of Hatred by fragileannihilator 2016-04-21T00:46:00

I like game with a deep philosophical meaning :P This game is really funny. And good sounds too!

Polyjam by Quique 2016-04-27T21:00:00

90/100 (I suck :( )

Wow! Super simple but super addictive game. This game shows what one button games can be. Music, graphics, difficulty, all fit very well. Well done!

Memento Mori by ZeroFaction 2016-04-21T15:06:00

I love games with a philosophical feel. :) Great sound/graphics and mood (though some backgrounds don't quite fit in my opinion).

The jumps are frustratingly hard (though you can see it as a "statement" on life). I'll check back when there are checkpoints :)

World Dominator by TomPugh1112 2016-04-21T01:00:00

Nice game. I like that the map is procedurally generated! The fights tend to get repetitive, though. Good music!

Tessellate by sharrackor 2016-04-27T20:49:00

Good arcade game! Well implemented graphics and sound. And quite challenging! "fast-paced adrenaline-pumping" is a good description ;)

Shapegrammer by APantaloni 2016-04-21T14:19:00

That's guite a hard game. I wish the game would start out a bit easier, so that you get into a flow. I also wished the positions of the shapes would be at the same place each time, its really hard to get used to the new positions (on the other hand, if the game would start out easier, it would give you time to get used to the new positions).
In general good graphics and good sound. And quite an innovative idea to combine a guitarhero-esque gameplay with the tandram puzzle.

Pluto's Tears by kestrelgames 2016-04-26T22:02:00

My favorite game so far! I especially love Charon! :D

I ran into a bug several times where Pluto would jump back to the position I last clicked, kind of weird.

Slime Tales by DrillerDev 2016-04-21T15:14:00

Wow, awesome graphics and sound! And funny too! Gameplay is a bit repetitive, but otherwise fun. Well done!

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Quest For The Rounded Wheel by mpe3us 2016-09-18T10:05:00

Wow, this is an awesome game. Impressive what you achieved in 48 hours!

The graphics are simple, but appealing, has a minecrafty feeling to it. The gameplay is not very challenging, but feels very well implemented. I especially like that the different villagers have different stats, well done!

I wished the game wouldn't end so abruptly, I would have loved to see how round wheels look like :P Obviously the game is a bit short, but I would be totally excited to play a longer version of this game. And some sound would be great.

Any Person's Planet by comatomatoes 2016-09-11T12:05:00

Wow, awesome game, played it for nearly a hour.

I really love the graphics, the "creatures" are awesomely drawn. The whole trading game idea is very well implemented, you get to learn the worth of the different resources.

The language system is also great. I love that the symbols actually look like what they represent (at least most of the time).

However, I wished there would be different ways to learn new words, I basically just probed everybody for half an hour, which was a bit boring. Perhaps you could introduce different ways to learn words that would be differently effective depending on the type of person (e.g. you can only probe warriors, but friendly natives would allows you to share a meal with them during which you can learn more but perhaps simpler words.)

I love the way you formulated the sentences, it's really difficult to determine if a sentence is positive or negative until the end.

Balloon by Kableado 2016-09-11T12:43:00

Nice take on flappy bird. Way less annoying than the original ;)

I like that you added the ability to shoot to a flappy game, however the enemies are way too strong, I never made it past the first batch. One hit one kill would be more appropriate, I think.

I also wished there was a way to set save points, because each time I died I had to restart from the beginning, which was quite frustrating.

Super cute graphics, really well done! I love them!

Does the game have sound? Because I didn't hear anything.

Aqueducts of Solomon by LoneSpelunker 2016-09-09T01:52:00

Hmm it took quite some time for me to get the game, and I still suck... my record is 12, I think I'm not good at these kind of games.

Anyway, awesome graphics! Love the drawings on the cards. Great gameplay idea, well implemented. Very well done!

Would it make sense to increase the number of years? I have the impression that with only 10 years the game is a bit too luck-based.

Sling Fling by drapple 2016-09-18T11:10:00

Super simple game, but for some reason super addictive! I was playing LD games at my friends house and this was the only game he voluntarily joined in. We played plenty of rounds against each other but I finally perfected my technique and he had no more chance against my epic Sling Fling moves :P

His final high score: 745
My final high score: 2680

Awesome game! Proves that physics can make a super simple game concept quite challenging. The graphics are very good, I like the very subtle parallax effect.

Sometimes I lost the egg if my mouse went out of the game window, which is too bad. Also sometimes I hit the head of the chicken, but it didn't register.

Ancient Factory City by StMatn 2016-09-18T10:36:00

Wow, awesome game idea. Great combination of Factoria and city buidling! This game has quite a potential.

I don't want to critisize to much, as the game is oviously a prototype. But it's hard for me to see the side switching belts are pointing if they are covered by items.

I'm not quite sure what I was supposed to do with wire and logic units. I read you explanation, but I'm not sure where I should use them.

You should definitly continue on this project, there is quite a potential here!

Ancient Akkadians by hitchh1k3r 2016-09-18T12:04:00

Wow! Awesome game. Really addicitve! Great combination of puzzle and turn-based city building game! Definitively the best game of LD36 I've played.

I love the low-poly graphics and the day-night cycle.

Unbelievably fleshed-out game for 72 hours!

Bricks for Anubis by jscottmiller 2016-09-09T02:20:00

What do we have here... Another take on an "ancient technology clicker". I tried the same thing, I think yours is better ;)

To start out: I wish each click in the pond would create one brick, it would give me more incentive to click the pond.

I also wish buildings were constantly producing bricks. Production every X seconds kind of slows down the pace of the game. (It took some time to get that buildings produced bricks only every X seconds, because the description was covered up in the ludum dare window (I know it's not your fault, it sucks that the iframe is not the size that you enter))

The slow zoom-out effect is AWESOME! I love it! It really gives you the feeling that you are achieving something.

The pace of the game is a bit slow (I know, that's the whole point of idle games), but I wished the beginning would be a bit more fast-paced, it would get me more addicted.

The graphics are really funny/cute, love them!

I kind of missed some sound.

Escape from planet Earth! by Peni6 2016-09-10T16:20:00

First of all, great intro and outro animations, they create an awesome setting for the game. Well done!

The game itself was a bit short and simple, and not too challenging. However, once you die things get fun, first I loved that you still can move and shoot once you are dead, not enough games allow you to do that ;)

Then, once I respawned I suddenly had a minus countdown (or rather "countup"), all the enemies I had previously killed were still dead and the "ancient technology" from the previous run was still there.

I also like that if you jump in the right moment you can jump on bullets in mid-air, I once made it off the top af the screen. The collision detection in general are a bit weird, once I was walking around in the bottom GUI.

I assume these are all bugs that you weren't able to get to due to your programmer's sickness, but actually they make the game quite entertaining. It turns it a bit into a glitch game, which is funny. :D

Graphics are really well done, together with the good music they give a nice atmosphere!

Ancient Invaders by Insality 2016-09-18T10:48:00

Wow awesome game! I like that it's a two player game but you can easily play alone, the AI of the non-active player is very good.

The graphics are gorgeous! Very well done! (There are a few English mistakes in the text, if you want to publish this game you might want to have someone correct the texts.)

Honestly, the gameplay is a bit simple. I wished the attacks would be more complex, perhaps with different weapons/different attack directions. (and I'm only saying this because everything else about your game is awesome!)

BTW, thank you for playing my game. I'm happy you made it to the golden statue! :D

Archeology Simulator 3092 by brookzerker 2016-09-11T17:21:00

Very nice approach the an FTL-like game! I like that the solar systems and the items that you get are randomly generated. Makes each go a new experience. I did once get "Searching through rubble you found 0 missiles", which was a bit confusing.

The upgrades are a bit over-powered, or the game progression is not perfect, because I was always able to beat the normal pirate ships without any issues (by just firing the laser over and over again). But each time I met a pirate boss my ship exploded, no matter how many upgrades I had. It would be nice if the enemies would get more and more difficult over time.

(A question about my game: what popup blocked your village?)

TrainStack by TheMonsterFromTheDeep 2016-09-18T10:19:00

Very clever puzzle game. I must honestly say that I got stuck on one level and just couldn't figure it out and then ragequit (I'm not good at puzzle games). I think you have to explain a bit more how the different cars affect the train. I didn't quite understand why sometimes I could pass broken tracks and sometimes not.

The graphics are simple, but well done. Exactly what a game like this needs. The animtions are awesome, especially those of the level menu and the one between levels. Well done!

Sound is good, but the music sounds a bit out of rhythm at times.

Door to Door Door Salesman by dwemthy 2016-09-09T01:25:00

Haha, that's what I call good marketing! :D

Very simple, but funny game. I wished the neighbors would react more than just complain. Perhaps a little fighting between neighbors would make the game more entertaining ;)
But overall, a humorous take on the theme. Well done!

The Temple of the Clockwork One by kardfogu 2016-09-09T00:41:00

Very funny game, I laughed a lot during the dialogs! :D

I've never used RPG maker before, so I don't know how much you did yourself and how much was provided by the engine. Anyway, quite a complex game with the item system und the different stats. The temple is quite extensive. Well done!

The fights are a bit boring, I just was hammering the return key untill a fight was over. However, it did remind me of when I was playing Pokemon as a kid. :D The damage numbers that pop up aren't very visible, if you don't look at the right spot at the right moment you can easily miss it. I also was never able to use the "Escape" feature during a fight.

I honestly never figured out how to beat Lichbanshee. I think I collected all the items and I tried different combinations of healing/damage, I still got killed each time after two hits.

Overall quite a fun little RPG, well done!

Small Civilzation by qikcik 2016-09-12T22:21:00

Wow, I love the game concept. It took me quite some time to get what I was supposed to do (not that it needed explanation, I just didn't know what kind of strategy I should be using). Very difficult at the beginning.

I like the combination of resource management and puzzle gameplay. However, the costs didn't always seem very logical. For example: Why does a sky scraper cost less money than the lower-level building? The "holy cow" is funny :D

The graphics are nice, it's all you need for such a game. The GUI on top is a bit confusing. It would be nice if you could see what building you currently have selected in the building menu and not show the resource +/- values if your mouse is not over one of the 5x5 tiles.

In gerenal, with a bit of polishing and balancing, this could be quite a good and challenging game!

Adventure Time by mennchen22 2016-09-12T22:48:00

[spoiler alert] Hmm, I died because of the green slimes and now I don't know what to do. Each time I go back into the underworld, the slimes are still there. How do I get the treasure? Or did I already take it? I also wished that I could respawn in the underworld if I die there.

Overall, a nice looking game. The sprite sets of the overworld and the underworld don't quite fit together though, and the art style of the character/slimes is different, too. The character has a bit weird sprite when seen from the front: from the sides he looks happy, from the front he looks angry/sad.

The music is quite good, is it procedurally generated? However, the underword music continued once I died, even though I was back on the overworld.

When I start the game I get the German message "Eine Reise beginnt". Is that because my computer is set to German or did you forget to translate that? :D

LD37 — One room

Ramenfly by Avocadosan 2016-12-15T02:46:00

Haha very funny game. I love the music and especially the sound effects. Well done!

It would be nice if you could play the game in fullscreen mode, I kept clicking outside of the window.

Also, a hint with the different keys and colors should be visible in the fights (at least in the beginning), otherwise it's just impossible to remember the combinations (or I just have a very bad memory ;) )

How many employees are needed in a factory? by ThCortezZ 2016-12-30T15:02:00

Wow, great game! Love the game idea, reminds me for Chaplin's Modern Times. Graphics are gorgeous! (Though the font has some issues in my browser!

I love the way the scene is built up with the 1984-esque large screen with the boss in the background. However, I wished the activities were more sensible, and not just symbols. For example you could have activities such as oven, press, cool, screw... Would make the game less abstract.

But overall I enjoyed the game. Well done!

Cat and Robot by Vadim Ivshin 2016-12-15T02:37:00

Greate game idea. It reminds me of a board game (forgot how its called). But adding in the cat makes it much more fun/funny.

Nice and simple graphics. The little cat drawings between levels are funny, though they don't quite fit into the art style of the rest of the game.

Overall well implemented game!

The White Room by Ganon 2016-12-16T01:30:00

I really like the low-poly art of your game, the whole map is very atmospheric. (Though I fell off the map on the first go.)

The background story sounds promissing but I got killed each time by the spiders before I got all the cookies, so I don't really know what happens. How exactly is the "one room" theme play into this game? I probably didn't get far enough in the story.

The fighting mechanic would feel better is the spiders got knocked back. Like this you hardly get feedback for each hit and you keep have to run backwards so you don't get hit yourself.

I didn't hear any sound. I restarted the game twice in Firefox, still no sound.

Overall I think this game could be quite good, however it needs quite a bit of polishing first.

Cloud Chaser by handoharken 2016-12-31T16:29:00

Wow, really love the game mechanic! Mood and graphics are great!

I like how you can create a Zero-G environment by flying up and then flying down quickly :D

However, I somehow got my airship to flip over, after which it got stuck and I couldn't get unstuck again.

Overall, a very good game. Played it way longer than I wanted to, not delivering cargo, just flying around for fun :D

Marimo by Bemmu 2016-12-30T14:53:00

Very cute game! Love it! Single-player agar.io without all the racist names :)

Controlls feel good, music is nice. The graphics are simple but cute. Liked this game very much.

(I didn't know that algae eat other algae... :D)

Chamber Talk by invi 2016-12-30T15:34:00

Yeah, I beat Jamjam with only 14 deaths! :D

Love, the art style, the humor and the story, very well done!

Shadow Fencer Theatre by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun 2016-12-30T12:58:00

Wow! Those graphics are awesome. Not only the shadow puppet effects, but also the gorgeous menus. The sounds are also well made and funny.

I'm not quite sure about the gameplay, I discovered that I can just hold H and my guy will hold out his sword all the time, making me the winner 100% of the time.

But with a bit of refinement of the fighting mechanic, this could be an awesome game! Keep up the good work!

Oh! Circle, Dot. by calzep 2016-12-16T01:39:00

I love extremely simple games that are still challenging. This is one that is very well done. Graphics are as minimalistic as they can be, while still keeping the game understandable and visually appealing.

However I don't like the font, it's to fancy for such a minimalistic game.

I played this with a mouse, so I didn't get very far. I can imagine that with tapping this is easier to play.

The Room by martymon 2016-12-30T12:46:00

Very well implemented text adventure! I like the random mobs/attack types/damage. It makes for a new challenge with each play through. I also like how you play with colors to clearly identify objects.

Three things I noticed:
- I usually got killed by the first Skeleton, Ninja or Dwarf. Often I didn't have enough gold to buy a better weapon or healing potion untill then. It would be nice if the wouldn't appear so early. Once it was the first mob I had to fight.
- I get negative health for one round before I die.
- Healing potions should not heal a random amount. If the random amount is smaller than the damage the mob does, it's just frustrating.

Overall a very well executed text adventure with plenty of details.

StormRunner by Novodantis 2016-12-31T18:05:00

Wow we basically made the identical game! :D up to the shape of the fuel canisters and health packs! :D

I love the effects of the toxic storm, creates quite a mood.

I died once because I got stuck between the driver's seat and the wall and couldn't get out. I also often had glitchy graphics effects when entering the mobile home.

Overall, very good game, had fun playing it!

FUNRiDE! by SUNFURY 2016-12-27T00:46:00

Gorgeous game! The controls feel super fluid, the voxel art is impeccable. Seriously, I have rarely seen this good voxel art.

I love the design of the characters, there are cute, funny (especially the walking dolphin) and relatable. I like that the fenced break over time.

The sounds is well done and funny. I love the whistling sound when you fall off.

It's really hard to do multiplayer for Ludum Dare, as people are usually alone when rating games, so I love that you included bots. And the bots are very well done! I also had the opportunity to play the multiplayer with someone else, we had a blast! (Couldn't stop playing :P)

Three things I personally liked less:
- The style of the GUI and the text don't quite fit that of the voxel art. (and I'm only saying this because the graphics otherwise are awesome)
- The collisions at times felt weird and unpredictable. There was several occasions where I just "glitched" through another character.
- I don't quite see the theme here. I know, there is only "room for one", and the arena is "one room". But it isn't really, so it is a bit of a stretch. ;)

Overall, the best game I've played so far!

Room 51 by smbe19 2016-12-30T13:41:00

Haha, very funny ending! :D

I had some problems finding the place where I should put the burning straw. I searched each room, pressed Q for each item/person/object combination. Thank you for providing a solution, I would have never found it otherwise.

I love the humor of the game. The graphics are simple, but decent. Music and sounds are good, love the intro.

Overall, quite a complex game for Ludum Dare. I got quite hooked.

Abominable by Conk 2016-12-31T18:19:00

Well I can testify that all five features do work. The item-size-based inventory is actually quite cool. I tried to implement one once for a LD event and gave up after 5 mins. :D So congratulations for going through with it. ;)

I love the graphics, and the foot steps are really cool. However, a little bit of feedback while chopping trees or fishing would be nice... ;)

Overall, totally awesome lighting-a-fire-with-an-axe and fishing-with-an-axe simulator! Well done! ;)

Santaur's Workshop by tweedle 2016-12-15T23:28:00

Haha, really funny game with really fun and well done graphics. I especially like the snowman and the polar bear (reminds me of Brian from Family Guy for some reason).

It takes a few goes until you get the hang of how the game works. But once you do, all five levels are super easy, you just build three rows of sniper elves and nothing can touch you.

I found it frustrating that when I was in building mode and I clicked a floating star it would build what I was building under the star.

Overall great job on humor and audio ("There is no time like Christmas time" ...I had to laugh :P)

QuestMatch.Com by Archonthewizard 2016-12-30T14:37:00

Argh the game ended too early, I could have continued playing for hours (I already played for about an hour).

I love the humor, "quest and chill" "your quest or mine?". Brilliant!

It's too bad the graphics and sounds aren't from you. The main room is nice, though I would have prefered more enemies and a simpler room ;)

Overall, very good game. You should make this into a full game.

One Room Hotel by TerraCottaFrog 2016-12-26T23:04:00

Haha, really funny game. And very stressful.

I really like the graphics and the sound, they fit well together and create a great mood.

The difficulty curve is a bit steep. I have no idea how anyone could get beyond the third level. At one point all six guys wanted to go in the ball pit (I assume that's what blue floored room should be), but I had only two of them. Very frustrating.

But overall, a very well polished game!

Concierge by Zarkonnen 2016-12-26T23:55:00

It took me about 25 goes, but I finally made everyone survive. However, I think there was more luck involved than skill.

As I already told you in the coffee shop while you were making the game, I absolutetly love the idea. The graphics are simple, but perfect. And together with the sound that you added, the game is hilarious.

My big problem with the game is that I cannot plan the nights enough. Hence I cannot perfect my strategy and therefore I lose interest quite quickly. First of all, there are two pieces of information of which I am not sure if there are random or if the system is so complex that I don't understand it. (I know it's not random, but it feels random.) It would be nice if these pieces of information were either stated somewhere, or - even better - there were visual hints:
- In which order will the guests do "their thing"?
- If a guest does "his thing" in another room, where will he go once he leaves his room? (Here for example, you could show with an arrow where the person is looking, to indicate what their algorithm for finding a room is.)

Also, I actually would like to reassign rooms. I think it would be hard enough like that. (I know, you did that because of the theme.) It would also be easier to try out combinations of guests you haven't tried out yet to see how they interact. And as you stated in your blog post there are over 5 million combinations, so even with reassigning, it would be a new challenge with each go.

Anyway, I hope these comments aren't too harsh, I still think you had a brilliant idea and I especially love you "sexy" sounds :P

Concierge by Zarkonnen 2016-12-27T00:20:00

Okay, I played it another 25 times, didn't get a single night with 0 deaths... I'm starting to understand in which order the guests do "their thing" and in which rooms they go. But not a 100% there yet.

Igluvijaq by Tasgardyen 2016-12-30T15:17:00

Congratulations on your first entry!

I really like the idea of the game: doing a repetitive task to tell an emotional story, creates a very good mood.

However, making 36 blocks is a bit much, especially as I was hoping for a bit plot twist at the end... If at least cutting the blocks was a bit challening...

Anyway, I really like the general mechanic of the game. Well done!

Hurry Up ! by Mathiouza 2016-12-30T12:11:00

Yay, I finished my game! :D

I like the idea of implementing the process of a game jam as a series on mini games.

The mini games are a bit simple though, it would be nice if they were more challenging, at it wasn't only about speed. It would be also cool if you could choose when you want to drink and sleep, but if you dont drink or sleep you get negative effects. For example: if you don't drink coffee you get tired faster, and if you don't sleep you make mistakes while programming.

Overall cool game, that does give you the feeling of the stress of a game jam. :D

Pico Factory by caranha 2016-12-27T10:09:00

It took me six goes, but I made to over 3000! :P

Love the combination of puzzler, base-building and time pressure. Well done on graphics, I especially like that you did a pico-8 game.

Sounds are good, though it took me some time to understand that the blender noise was not me doing something wrong.

Overall, very well implemented game!

Warehouse Shuffle by Archimagus 2016-12-15T23:46:00

Wow, that's what I call a stressful game! :D

I really like the concept of the game. However, once I noticed that you can just move the goods directly from the right trucks to the left trucks I just did that -- I always had truck waiting anyway. I wished the game were less hectic, and perhaps more strategic when it comes to the warehouse space.

A few short comments: It would be nice if one could see a preview of the size of a good before you put it in the warehouse. Also, I didn't notice any difficulty progression, it just seemed randomly difficult, depending on how many trucks randomly showed up. You also shouldn't be able to kill yourself by buying more warehouse space when you don't have the money. I tend to just spam-click the buy button.

But overall very original idea and good take on the theme.

LD38 — A Small World

Endless Hexagon by David Cookie 2017-05-13T08:52:49Z

That's one good looking game :) Really like the graphics. And the music is great too!

I really like that you came up with an innovative game mechanic. Well done!

However, honestly, I'm a bit confused. I'm not quite sure how the game works. I read the tutorial and your description on this page several times and I also played the game several times to try to find a system, but I still don't quite get it. When do I get recycling? What are "jauges"? You keep using it in the tutorial and I don't know what they are. Google doesn't know the word "jauges" either. Do you mean the four bars in the top right? How exactly do the various tiles influence the four bars? When I get the "preview" arrows of the influence, is it only for the current tile or also for the six adjacent ones?

Edit: Okay I had three more goes, now I start to get how it works (I'll leave my comments above, so you understand the problems I was having.) This is actually really hard. I need to find strategies to keep enough low-level tiles around so that I can recycle. I noticed the following: once you got no tile lower than prosperous city, you lost. So actually I think it wouldn't be bad if the recycling feature would stay around, even if some of the four bars go down again. I mean, waiting to use recycling "costs" tiles anyway, so the earlier you do it the better.

My current highscore is: 4880

I must say, well done!

Tub of War by quill18 2017-05-16T20:13:55Z

We had your stream running in the background at our real-world gettogether in Zurich Switzerland. But honestly I was to distracted by my own game to really follow what you were doing. I'm happy that I now finally got around to trying out the finished product!

Really impressed what you were able to make in the time! Very funny game!

Dean's World by Laguna 2017-05-13T09:26:08Z

I'm really impressed by the game. I will definitly play it some more!

Love the survival aspect with the crafting system. Somehow reminds me of this super-unknown indie-game.. I think it's called Mindcraft ;) Implemented really well!

Well done in making a procedurally generated world! (However I must say, that sometimes the fruit/fiber bushes are a bit too spread-out, making surviving the first day impossible)

Did I mention that I love the crafting system? :D Really love the minecraft-like blueprints. Thanks for posting the recepices in the description! One thing I dont like: left click places the entire stack, while right click places half the stack. How do I place only one item? I would really need that to craft. In minecraft it's right click.

Sometimes it's not quite clear which tile I will be interacting with. Especially with the bushes and the trees. Somehow I can only interact with the bushes from the top (?). And if there is a tree near by (even if it's two blocks away) it gets priority? I had two ocasions where I just could not interact with a bush. It would be nice if there was some kind of preview showing which tile you will be interacting with.

The animations when the world is uncovered are gorgeous!!! Really well done! :P

Natantes Paradisum by strong99 2017-05-18T17:37:31Z

"Citizens need work to be happy" ... a very bold statement! :D

Loved the graphics and the atmosphere! Very well done!

However, I was not quite sure how the mechanics of the game worked. Why do some houses make pollution and others not? What happens if I don't build enough factories? What exactly is the goal of the game?

But overall, this game has quite a lot of potential!

SmallRTS by MaxguN 2017-05-17T22:21:46Z

This game has quite a lot of potential. After writing this comment I will definitly go play the post-jam version.

I love that you simplified the concept of RTS games to five gauges. This kind of indirect control makes lots of fun.

There are a few things that I didn't quite understand: - Why is there a difference between "exploration" and "relations"? Why would I want to explore and not be hostile (as long is there is no fog of war)? Or why would I not be exploring but be hostile? The killing of intruding enemies is controlled by the "border" gauge, right? - Why would I leave the "Birth rate" low? Is there any negative effect to having max birth rate? - What does "workload" do? Do the dots get slower if they work too much? - Why do I need to conquer territory? Do I get more dots if I have more territory? Can I somehow conquer enemy territory except by killing all the enemy dots?

What I really like is the AI of the dots. You really feel like you are looking at an ant hill.

SmallRTS by MaxguN 2017-05-17T22:27:29Z

I just tried to play the post-jam version and got this: too_much_recursion.jpg Edit: Happend on the second go too.

Commander's Log by smbe19 2017-05-07T22:04:37Z

Wow awesome game! Played it way longer than I wanted to. :D

I died after 9 days on my first try, and as I felt the game was kind of repetitive I was hesitant to try again. But on the second try WW3 happend, I've never seen something so unexpected happen in a LD game! Very well done! :D

I built the Cryogenics. What do I do now? I cannot interact with it.

Here are some things that you could improve on: - Once you placed a module (but before it's being built) it would be nice to see some feedback, otherwise you kind of have to guess that it's there. - It would be nice to see at what rate you are gaining resources per day. - It wasn't clear to me what certain modules do, especially the magnet and the radar. (I'm aware that they are mainly there for the story, but at least some basic description would be nice.) - The speed settings are great, but it would be nice to be able to jump to the next day. At the beginning when you are waiting for the deliveries it can be a little bit boring. - I didn't quite get why I needed more astronauts. On my second go I just stayed with two and that worked fine for me.

The pixelart graphics are well done. However, they don't quite fit the 3D background.

In general: Great story, great music, great mood! I love that you have a voice read the story, greatly improves on the mood! I also like that you built a module (the Radio) that's only there for the story, kind of fun.

Tiny Battlehex by meisterfuu 2017-05-10T16:39:09Z

Good take on this type of game mechanic. I won on my second try!

I like that it's not only about conquering territory but also about strategically choosing which buildings you need.

However, I felt the game to be a bit unbalanced. If you don't have a good start, you have no chance to win the game. On the other hand, if you have a good start, the AI has no chance against you. It's basically determined in the first 20 seconds. I wished there were other features/events which would make the game more challenging after the initial phase.

But overall, I enjoyed playing the game, so well done! :)

Alone by mhaton 2017-05-16T21:39:07Z

Okay, I've taken waaay to long to play this game.. at least an hour... I now placed the statue in the plinth. WHAT DO I DO NOW??? I have the feeling that I nearly solved the puzzle, but I'm just not quite there yet. Really frustrating...

Anyway, congratulations, really well done point-and-click adventure. Simple, but atmospheric graphics and music that fit well together. Captivating "story" and puzzles. The controls are a bit weird, but that has been mentioned in the other comments. I discovered a bug: if you press the space bar during an open speech bubble (for example at the power button), the game crashes. Happened to me twice, kind of frustrating, but if you know what to do its relatively easy to get back to the same point in the game.

What I really enjoyed was the subtle humor. Had do smile several times (which really rarely happens to me while playing LD games). 5/5 for humor.

Smoke, the machine keeper ☁ by Plumepox 2017-05-16T22:37:14Z

Oh my god! Those graphics! Gorgeous! They create such a great atmosphere!

Even if the game is very short, it tells a great story. Love the twist with the airship.

I presume you cannot jump when you are carrying an item to lead the player to the airship, but I found that very confusing, I restarted the game twice because I thought the controls were broken.

Did I already mention that I loved the graphics??? And those animations! And the storytelling! Wow!

Last Breath by nikrt 2017-05-17T20:49:48Z

Nice graphics! I like the colors and the artstyle. The aliens kind of remind me of the Daleks from Doctor Who. :D

Is there anyway to dodge the alien's shots? I never got past 8 kills. I also have the feeling that grenades always only hit one enemy, no matter how many stand nearby.

As already mentioned in other comments, the camera tends to jump around a bit for no apparent reason.

Overall fun game with a nice atmosphere.

Entropy by SleepyStudios 2017-05-07T20:30:36Z

Great innovative idea for a game! Very meditativeto play, especially with the music.

It took me some time to figure out how exactly I was influencing the map. I also wasn't sure if the other players where humans or bots - if there are bots I guess that's a good sign :D

It was very interesting to follow how the map developed overtime, a bit like watching an ant hill.

Stop CO2 by cremmy 2017-05-10T17:00:04Z

Really liked the game's mechanics. Combining tower defence and resource management makes it very interesting.

I also like that you can place the spawn point of enemies, which allows you to callenge yourself and make the game harder. Well done!

Micro Conquest by Blueman 2017-05-18T18:45:26Z

Really enjoyed this game. I'm not quite sure why I suddenly won. I thought I had to conquer the whole world.

I also wasn't quite sure when I got new troops. And the battle system didn't quite seem to make sense to me, as I won nearly all battles, even if I had less troops than the opponent.

I'd love to play this some more if there was a bit more strategy. For example choosing where to place new troops. Or some kind of bonus that you could unlock for your troops.

Overall, well done!

That Tiny Pea by Thendash 2017-05-17T00:44:24Z

moon_fail.jpg I'm not quite sure how I'm getting back to earth, but at least the view is nice... :D

Wow, a (semi)realistic simulator as a Ludum Dare game! Impressive!

The introduction with the quote and the thumb calibration sets the right mood, very well done!

CivCity by Kthulhu1947 2017-05-20T17:11:01Z

First of all, congratulations on your first LD entry!

I always enjoy a good clicker game. :D I like that you added the aspect of competing players to the clicker genre. The overview map is quite a good and innovative way to display how for along your competition is. As OccultOne already wrote I wasn't quite sure what I was aiming for. I presumed that if I had the largest circle in the overview mode, that I would also win. I didn't know that there was a GDP aspect, nor did I quite understand how it was calcualted.

If you add a bit more complexity and explain how the values are calculated, this could be the base for a great clicker game.

Escape Velocity by jmcrafty 2017-05-18T18:00:00Z

Yay, my highscore is 5900! Update: new highscore: 9500

One of the most fun games I have played so far! Simple, but fitting graphics. Very good music. Love the dynamic terrain. It's great that the enemies can also be hit by the meteors.

There is only one small thing that bothers me: I wished the character would move a bit faster. Not much faster, but right now movement feels a bit slugish.

Overall, well done!

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-16T20:06:49Z

Really good game mechanic, I liked it a lot! Too bad the game ended so early. You should definitly build on this idea and make a whole game out of it! I also like that you not only thought of the mechanic, but also of what you could use it for (changing size while jumping, different weights on springs).

I got a few graphical glitches. From time to time vertical and horizontal lines would appear (texture edges?). I also got stuck once in the wall (or the game crashed) in the bottom left while trying to jump and change size while jumping.

But overall, well done! Looking forward to seeing more of the game! :)

Little Scout by Tex Killer 2017-05-18T19:34:32Z

Thank you for playing my game! :)

So I played your game again to find the bug: I first just played the game in the normal window size and got one very short flash of a line (while changing size). Then I maximized the window and got the lines nearly all the time, this is how it looks like: http://zyxer.net/little_scout_line_bug.jpg

I found another bug (could be the same as when I thought I got stuck in the wall the last time I played): I sometimes get stuck in the jumping animation. Even if I'm standing on the ground. The sprite stays with the open mouth and I can only move very slowly. (Perhaps a floating-point error?)

Haha and just found yet another bug while writing this comment: if you get bigger in the bottom of the map to the left of the tunnel, you fall through the world:

little_scout_oooo.jpg *Nooooooooooooh....* :D

(edit: I just saw that icxon found the same bug)

LD39 — Running out of Power

Power Plant Manager by Josh6680 2017-08-18T18:34:45Z

I actually started playing this game because the art style intrigued me. Now that I played it, I find the game as a whole actually quite interesting. I would really like to see in which direction you want to go with this game.

The wireframe art style takes some getting used to. I think it would look better with a well-chosen color palette. I also wonder how animations would look in this art style (especially the wind turbines).

The explanations were good and it didn't take me long untill I just had to press [2] once, and I had reached the goal. There definitly should be a way to lose power (a presume that's what the population was intended for).

Noane's walk by sebbernery 2017-08-19T11:25:47Z

I don't know why this game is so fun. The gameplay is really stupid and still I cannot stop myself from playing it. :P Anyway I made it to 14.8 kilometers, now I'm happy! :D

I absolutely love the "music"! Definitly makes the game super funny. I like that you have to clear your throught once :D (Are you whistling the communist internationale once?)

The graphics are funny, too. I like that you switch from desert to forest in an instant.

The gameplay is really fun (and I still don't know why). But I wish the distribution of cacti and apple trees was a bit less random. I died once because I didn't find a single cactus and once because I didn't find a single apple tree.

The game also crashed several times, not sure why. Once at 8.3 kilometers and twice at 10.5 kilometers (browser-independent, I was playing it on Firefox and Chrome).

By the way, thank you for your comment on my video. I did not know the game Mini Train. It's funny the graphics, gameplay and controls are so similar to my game, even though I did not know Mini Train.

Die To Survive by LooksLikeSomething 2017-08-17T14:58:40Z

Really good game mechanic, and a very good take on the theme!

Graphics were good, but animations would have made it way better. Especially the jumping felt weird without animations.

The design of the level is good. It's hard to find all 5 power sources, but it's possible.

It took me some time to understand where I could see my power level. I first thought it was the numbers in the top right. I also found it strange that I had to recharge my battery after I respawned.

Overall really cool game idea.

Runic Forest by tjakka5 2017-08-22T11:24:25Z

I'd love to play your game, the graphics look really nice. Sadly my antivirus (AVG) keeps finding e virus in the exe, so I can't play it.

Thank you very much for you extensive comments on my game. I wish more people would take the time to go so in-depth. I have one question on your comments: you wrote "the textures look pretty muddy, rails are nice. It’s not exactly great to look at but it does the job.". What specifically do you find "muddy" about the textures, and how could I improve them? How could I achieve a "great look"? :)

Escape from власть (Vlast) by Crown Games 2017-08-16T22:32:37Z

Really good looking graphics! The glowing cables are a nice effect (though the glow is invisible behind the glas, which is a bit too bad).

I loved the background story, though I wished the story was a bit more integrated into the game. I didn't quite get the feeling of impending war. Music would also have helped the atmosphere.

I wasn't quite sure why I needed to walk around with the character, as he only influenced the camera, but I could place cable everywhere. It didn't give me the impression that I was playing the guy.

The level difficulty and difficulty progression was good. However, some things could be more visible, like when the cable is behind the generator, or the difference between tiles where you can place a cable and tiles with too much debris. Also, when you place cables that don't have power, they are nearly invisible.

Overall, good game! :)

Power Outage by keckles 2017-08-16T20:18:58Z

Nice light mechanic! Graphics are well done. A bit more ambient sound or music would have definitely improved the atmosphere. It should be dark and claustrophobic, but the game doesn't quite feel like it yet. Also some random scary rat squeaks would be awesome :D

I honestly found the game very hard to play. The reaction time needed to turn on the stun mode when you see a rat is just a bit too short. I also didn't quite get how to trade in rats for energy. The falling physics also need some getting used to.

I think with some improvements this could be a very fun game.

Demonic Powers by gilborn 2017-08-18T14:47:43Z

For a Hotline Miami clone it's quite well done! The controls feel tight, the enemies are hard but beatable. Sound and animations are good. I don't have much to add, well done! :)

DraBot by gil4 2017-08-19T10:50:02Z

Unbelievable visuals. It's amazing you achieved that in three days! Wow!

The gameplay was fun. Controls felt a bit unresponsive, especially jumping. Also, that you can't move while attacking really breaks the flow. However, I didn't find it difficult to learn the controls.

I think more complex and more fluid fighting mechanics would definitly improve this game. For example, the enemies should show some kind of response to being attacked. Just watching their HP bar drain is not very satisfying.

The music was good. I don't know if the tracks are random, but the mood of the second track that played didn't quite fit to the first.

Overall, I must say that I've never seen so gorgeous graphics in a Ludum Dare game, really impressive. The gameplay on the other hand could be improved upon.

Hope Glider by Spotline 2017-08-18T15:42:49Z

Wow, technically impressive game!!! I really liked the fluid simulation. I had to implement such a fluid simulation for a university lecture last year, I know how frustrating it can be :D

The graphics are really nice! Love the little airships and the background. The intro/outro screens set the mood quite well.

The controls feel really good (Though I flew off the screen once). Difficulty is just right. Music sounds good. Would have loved to play more levels.

Power Struggle by Kriss 2017-08-18T12:01:34Z

Cool extension of the tower defense genre. Quite difficult, I made it to 184 seconds.

It took me some time to understand what the drills were, but after a while I started to get a hang of the game. Too bad you can only build in predetermined locations.

I love the feeling that you have to run around and keep everything going. I just think that the power of the drills and the turrets gets used up too fast. You never have the feeling that you have things under control. I think it would be better if for the first few waves everything went fine and you had things under control, and only slowly over time things would get out of hand.

The controls of the character don't always feel "tight" (I only tried single player). Especially when you bumb in to corners you kind of get stuck in a weird way. Also it's not always clear what you are interacting with, especially with the turret upgrades.

When I have some weird audio glitches (Google Chrome, on a new notebook), especially when go in fullscreen mode.

Overall, very cool game mechanics. Music is also very good. And impressive that you were able to make a 2-player game!

Keep Shoveling by Twaldigas 2017-08-15T12:24:45Z

Highscore: 3060

Wow, really enjoyed your game, well done! Super simple mechanics, and still really addictive to play. Perfect combination for a game jam game. The art style and graphics fit perfectly. Perhaps some Wild West music in the background?

I'd really love to have a leaderboard. That would motivate me to play more and measure myself with other players.

One thing that you might want to consider: I wished I could stop mid-ladder. Or at least switch direction mid-ladder. Sometimes there was a bandit very close and he shot during my way up the ladder and killed me when I reached the top.

Okay, I really suck at platformers, so this game was super hard for me. The Levels are really designed for good players, I wished there was a bit of a learning curve. But I must say, if I were a good player, I think I would enjoy the levels, there are very well thought-through. The graphics are well done with a good color palet. The controls and the music are also very good.

Really nice graphics, and well thought-through levels! Well done! Did you make the music? It's really good and sets the mood.

Technically I have some problems. I have quite a good PC, and I get about 15 FPS. Also the controls feel really sluggish (perhaps because of the low frame rate). The collision detection for the spikes is really weird, sometimes I die when I'm not touching them, other times I can get quite close without dying.

Overall, with some technical fixes this would be a really polished game.

Berzerk Hunt by TheFunAttic 2017-08-17T14:41:42Z

Great game! Great art style, funny graphics and animations, tight controls, I dont have much to critisize

The UI covers on critters in the bottom, which is kind of annoying. And the sounds don't sound that great. The camera shake feels kind of laggy when you kill to many animals at once.

Apart from those small grievances, probably the best game I've played so far! Very well done!

You are the winner the following awards: - 1st Place: Game I've enjoyed the most in Ludum Dare 39 - 1st Place: Game I've played the longest in Ludum Dare 39 (about 2 hours) - 2nd Place: Ludum Dare game I've played the longest since Ludum Dare 27

Seriously, I really, really liked your game. (I must admit, that I love base-building games and the mechanics they use, so I might be more enthusiastic than most other players.)

You've distilled down the principle of "just one more thing" to the bare minimum. Graphics are just complex enough so you can distinguish between buidlings. Number of buildings and complexity of the map is perfect. The day-night cycle is perfect to get the player hooked ("just one more day").

Of course it would be nice if you could do more :P then I would play even longer ;) The graphics for the mine and the gold seller are a bit too similar, mostly if they are covered by the "no power" exclamation mark. The "remove" feature with the right mouse button feels wierd, kind of delayed, I'm not quite sure why. Dispite your description on this page it took me some time to figure out how pumps work, it's kind of hard to see that they pump 5 water per side that is open to the lake. Also as pipes connect pumps together, I first assumed that water could flow through pumps, which it can't.

Also the "can't build here" sound doesn't quite convey "you can't build here". And in general, a bit of music would be nice :)

Anyway, I'm really impressed by what you've achieved. Congratulations!

Good shooter interpretation of the theme. Well done at making a 3D shooter in three days!

I wished there was a restart button after dying. Alt+F4ing out and restarting the game is kind of tedious.

Congratulations on your first game! Well done! Very good looking graphics and fun game mechanics!

I must say I'm not great at these kind of stealth games, but I think this game really hard. Especially that you are reset to the beginning of the game each time you die, it can be frustrating after a while.

Fading Points by SMILEY_4_ 2017-08-18T14:58:06Z

Quite a good puzzle game. However, I think once you understood the enemy's AI, it's relatively easy to beat the levels. Super clean and nice graphics, well done!

I'm not quite sure how this relates to the theme, to be honest.

Really impressive what you achieved in 6 hours!

Really well done. Simple but very entertaining and addictive gameplay. Graphics are well done and funny. Not quite sure about the cathode effect, not quite sure it's necessary.

It took me some time to understand that prayer time is every 30 seconds at 0:20 and lasts for 10 seconds. If you are going to show the time ingame, you might es well give some sort of warning when prayer time is going to happen.

Wow, really good, polished game. Great graphics, sound and mood. I love the story. The puzzles have the right difficulty.

The power recharging could be a bit faster. And jumping feels a bit slugish...

But, overall one of the best games I've played so far.

I can't launch the game. When I start the game the console opens, then the game window opens and then both close again.

After the Crash by Nalozyc Shade 2017-08-18T14:39:32Z

Wow, I'm really impressed by this entry.

Giving the sense of "if only I had done something differently" through gameplay is very well implemented. Also, not giving the player any choices during the dialog sequences actually supports the feeling of irreversibility. Though the story is appropriately sad, it kind of lacked emotional depth. The characters seemed somewhat generic.

I disagree with some other comments that say that this is a "interesting" or "weird" game. I think this is exactly what a game should be. It tells a captivating story while increasing the player's immersion through interactivity. There are few subjects or emotions that are harder to convey than loss, death of a loved one and the feeling of powerlessness. However, you have achieved just that! Well done!

A Dwindling Hero by Johnny Turbo 2017-08-16T22:48:18Z

Funny story for your game! :) The take on the theme is funny too, but when I played the game, I didn't have the feeling that I was running out of "power", it felt more like a regular health bar. It would have been cool if running/jumping and shooting would use power, but the hero was otherwise invinsible.

Otherwise the controls felt good, the graphics are a bit simple but worked well together. A scrolling background would have been nice. I didn't hear any sound/music, did I miss something?

Torch Boy by FloBar 2017-08-18T11:20:59Z

Them I think I'm bad at this, I must have tried the first level 50 times (really!) or so, and I didn't make it. I usually don't rate a game if I was able to play so little of it. But I think I got a good first impression.

The graphics are really well done, fit perfectly together. Sound is a bit weak, could have had some music. The game mechanic can be a bit frustrating, but with a less steep learning curve i presume you could get the hang of it. The controls feel great. If you plan to continue with the Project, you should definitly do it, just consider a less steep learning curve ;)

Cool little base building game. Actually quit hard, it took me like 15 tries to finally get a stable power production. However, once you got a hang of it, it's unlimited resources and power.

Three things that bothered me: - Why exactly does it take power to build buildings? And how much power does it use? Does it sometimes take more or less power? What happens if I'm low on power and an automatic buidling gets built? The whole thing wasn't quite clear to me. - The randomly generated maps are cool, but its weird that there are some with more ore less resources (I know you only need one of each, but still). - Sometimes it's clear that you won't be able to stabalize the power production, but the bar is going down very slowly. So either you wait 20 seconds or you have to close and restart the game. A "restart game" button would have been great.

I didn't quite get what "Normal people" meant in the top left corner. It's not the total number of inhabitents and its also not the idle population. And why are they "normal"? Are the others "weird"? :D I really like that you can see your people, and that each one has a random name. (But they are all men, how sexist... :P)

I experienced a few bugs: - Once the "play again" button didn't work. I think it was because the job-assignment window was open. - The help button doesn't do anything for me - When you start the game the first round you start with half power (could it be that the power is already draining in the menu screen?)

Too bad you can only build three buildings. I love base-building games and could have played longer. But I see you already made a lab, so I hope to see more in the future! :)
