Intersting concept.

I found this very stressful to play through. It felt like reliving the same moment over and over again. Sometimes I had control of the car but other times I felt powerless to hit more cars. This was overall a weird experience. It communicates itself very well. This is an interesting use of the medium.

Very interesting as the other concepts have said, but very good execution. Conveys the concept well, but I agree with internetpaulicy about it being weird. Overall good job and best of luck!

Interesting approach to the theme, but it is really a little bit to weird.

In the drive sequences I felt like watching highway scene from Final Destination movie

Wow, a pretty moody story telling experience, and are ALL the characters female? Interesting...

Like: - the memory flashbacks and the narrative were very good - I liked the difficulty of getting the car under control - it's an interesting experience

Try differently: - running out of power was often so quick, I didn't know what I had done. - you don't need to make an x64 build, windows 64 users can run the x86 one just fine. :)

Overall: - very decent entry, another one with a dark twist that leaves a memory

Cheers, thank you for making this!

It was an interesting game to play through, and I think I mean that in a good way. I didn't quite know how the power meter in the bottom left was affected, so it kinda felt like it was there to arbitrarily fit the theme, but maybe I just didn't get it. The story was interesting, and the characters seemed pretty realistic, although I can't say I've ever had this experience myself (and hopefully never will). Good job!

As others have said, this was really different and interesting to play. I personally enjoyed the sudden change to getting hit by the truck and all of a sudden trying to survive, and I liked the idea of the driver replaying the situation in their head over and over, but it did feel a little repetitive as the game went on. Not to sound too harsh here too, but I did find it a little odd with their reaction to Breanna. It was pretty quick to go from "Oh no!" to "It's okay, I'm fine, I'll drive now." It's completely understandable though since time was short to make the game. In the end, the game was really unique.

I like the concept

I can see what the game's going for, and I respect the creative effort. The gameplay segments don't quite do enough to support the story, though, it feels like it's missing a bit of a connection to the characters themselves. It also feels odd that you can only proceed once you succeed, not sure what the message it's communicating there. The last segment was a little different but wasn't clear what that indicated. Again, I like the effort and kudos for packing a big impact into a small space, but I think the idea and presentation could use a little more polish.

That's a pretty tragic story. I like the mood of the game and the story driven character of it. What I didn't like so much is that whenever you cahnged to the car game it would play the same way as before. Also the changes between the story and the car is not very smooth.

But good job nonetheless.

Hi, it was a well written sad story ! It probably deserves more graphics to enhance the visual aspect of the "text-side" of the game, as you see it a lot, and smoother transitions between the differents sides of the game (or maybe not, it has an effect of something sudden, just like the car crash, so...). I don't know, but it was interesting !

flobar 2017-08-03 14:00

You had me at that title. That was really good story telling. It was a pity the game play was a bit repetitive. The ending was a bit meh. I felt like there could have been a twist in the story. I'm really impressed though.

lajazuve 2017-08-03 14:25

I don't what say about this game, but i very love it, I like the repetition and her application for the narration.. it's good, euh dramatic experience but very nice work

toonteamj 2017-08-03 14:41

The story was pretty sad. At first I didn't like the slippery controls of the car, but I suppose that makes it more like a dangerous driving situation.

paracatgames 2017-08-07 22:30

Very interesting blend between storytelling and gameplay! And you really went for gut-wrenching with that sad storyline!

gonutz 2017-08-08 20:59

Some technical things: - sometimes you see the black border when you drive all the way up the scene - the cars in the final accident seem to not be exposed to any friction, they just keep going, rotating away

The story is told really well, the first sudden context switch to the accident scene really makes you feel helpless. Then you desperately want to find out what happened to Breanna. It is really emotional for a game jam entry, great job on that.

The stressful music in the first accident fits really well, later on it is rain which is an interesting detail. Seems like the dreams change a little every time.

Overall a greate job that you did here, keep up the good work!

Interesting experience. Well written story. The changes between story and gameplay and the slippery controls were sudden and surprising, but it actually make the car accident feel even more helpless. Some graphics during the story part might be nice, but still a good work overall. Well done!

Wow, I'm really impressed by this entry.

Giving the sense of "if only I had done something differently" through gameplay is very well implemented. Also, not giving the player any choices during the dialog sequences actually supports the feeling of irreversibility. Though the story is appropriately sad, it kind of lacked emotional depth. The characters seemed somewhat generic.

I disagree with some other comments that say that this is a "interesting" or "weird" game. I think this is exactly what a game should be. It tells a captivating story while increasing the player's immersion through interactivity. There are few subjects or emotions that are harder to convey than loss, death of a loved one and the feeling of powerlessness. However, you have achieved just that! Well done!
