LD39 — Running out of Power

Planet Nanadoo: Quest for the Powered Fruit by MrTroy 2017-08-17T16:29:46Z

I love the voxel graphics. Nice music and simple but balanced gameplay.

As other have already said, the movement is a bit too fast and aiming is a bit frustrating - but theses don't distract that much from enjoying the game.

Well done!

Coffy by NickZangus 2017-08-02T11:39:53Z

I'm not a big fan of match-3-like games, but the polish here is impressive.

For some reason, I couldn't click anything when playing the game fullscreen on Linux, but it worked just fine windowed. (Another Unity game for this LD had the same problem, so it's probably either Unity's or my computer fault...)

Abstract Demon by Knowledge 2017-08-02T18:21:17Z

Interesting concept! I didn't expect the abstract graphics, but the puzzles were enjoyable.

A flashing colours warning may be useful.

Elemental Conflict by dankar 2017-08-01T11:19:14Z

The interface was a bit confusing at first. I lost a couple times because I thought my action would trigger before the enemy's turn. Some visual feedback to show what happens and when would be helpful.

But the idea and gameplay were cool, and it was pretty fun to play once I understood how to read the screen.

PutOuter by ginger9 2017-08-03T15:24:02Z

Really nice and quite original concept. Only lacks some sound and maybe some more visual information. (And yeah, the checkpoints were useful)

Fun little game with nice puzzles. Well done.

Tesla Siblings by Linky439 2017-08-02T18:10:30Z

Nice graphics and music.

It's a tetris-like, but it's a solid tetris like. Good job.

Travel by madsj 2017-08-17T15:21:18Z

Awesome graphics and sounds. Controls are maybe a _little bit_ floaty, but the game feel pretty polished otherwise. A fun shooter overall. Well done.

Devious Plant Commando by Marcenat 2017-08-17T15:12:14Z

Good music and sounds, and fun to play. Maybe ammo was a bit scarce, but I've never been good at shooters. Managed to get to the boss by avoiding a lot of plants.

What I really liked was the concept, it is a very interesting use of the theme! I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't read the description, so it would have been nice to show it in a more obvious way in-game.

Good work!

OxenOut by Dragwa 2017-08-03T10:22:39Z

Nice graphics and sound, and really fun gameplay. Couldn't defeat the boss. Good job!

Flower by skippuku 2017-08-03T15:08:36Z

I think the graphics really fit well with the mood. Nice music, nice story, great experience overall. If only it could be a bit longer :( And transitions instead of displaying "loading" maybe?

Great work.

Blackout by 100th_Coin 2017-08-02T17:26:06Z

Very good use of music (and great music)! Loved the enemies design, graphics, the controls, and gameplay.

I don't really know what could be improved here ahah... maybe some sound effects when you hit an enemy or level down?

My highest rated game so far. Good job!

Powered By Coal by LiquidBrain 2017-08-02T16:51:03Z

The tutorial was way too wordy... well, I skipped it halfway.

I still have no idea what "T" means, but I was hooked! The user interface is really easy to use, game mechanics were simple but addictive. The level is really simple but short enough to be entertaining until the end.

It also feels way more polished when playing than what the screenshot showed.

It would benefit from a few visuals effects here and there, and most importantly a shorter tutorial. To avoid the "text dump" effect, you could display tooltips or add something to the UI which says what means what, what is produced and needed, etc. during the game instead of before. The mechanics are pretty intuitive (at least for me), so explanations shouldn't be forced on the player.

"Toot toot"!

Light in the Dark by Tuomo 2017-08-17T14:07:30Z

Great atmosphere and graphics. The collapsing floors are a bit hard to notice and I often fell when I stopped on them to crank the lantern.

Still, it was fun to play, fit really well with the theme, and the talking pictures in the tutorial were a nice touch. Well done!

Professional Protesters by MartinTristan 2017-08-02T14:02:21Z

Oh hey another clicker. Funnier than mine though :p

The protesting reasons are gold, the art nicely matches the humor, and the tutorial works.

It started getting repetitive (and my hand started to hurt...) at the free work sign though, and the music is WAY TOO LOUD. I was using headphones, ouch...

Still, with a bit more variety/abilities it will be a very solid game. Good job!

Thunderstorm by NNNIKKI 2017-08-17T15:52:55Z

Nice gameplay and idea, and you even managed to put 3 game modes! I though the graphics were OK. Good work!

@sumgamstudio works fine with Wine.

Long Distance Runner by easy82 2017-08-02T15:55:59Z

I love the graphics and music here.

If the no-exit situation were fixed (or you added a way to regain willpower) I would have easily spent way more time than I should playing this :D

Zombie Rush by Duck_Games 2017-08-17T16:19:03Z

Fun little game! The humor was nice. I'm sorry I cheated, but I had to try :p Good job!

After the Crash by Nalozyc Shade 2017-08-17T15:36:58Z

Interesting experience. Well written story. The changes between story and gameplay and the slippery controls were sudden and surprising, but it actually make the car accident feel even more helpless. Some graphics during the story part might be nice, but still a good work overall. Well done!

ULTIMATE PROSELYTISM & MIRACLES SIMULATOR 2017: THE MOVIE THE GAME by Reuh 2017-08-01T13:23:21Z

You can indeed get stuck in the maze... Sorry. We forgot to re-add a wall that we removed for testing...

@martinus : Thank! It should be fixed too.

ULTIMATE PROSELYTISM & MIRACLES SIMULATOR 2017: THE MOVIE THE GAME by Reuh 2017-08-03T17:20:38Z

@starlight-glimmer-is-best-poney I'm using ArchLinux myself and I perfectly know that. Unfortunately, LudumDare only offer a generic "Linux" as a platform name, and Löve only offer prebuilt .deb files. The preferred way to play Löve games on Linux is usually installing Löve and running the .love file directly, and no gigantic static build of Löve I could distribute exists to my knowledge.

ULTIMATE PROSELYTISM & MIRACLES SIMULATOR 2017: THE MOVIE THE GAME by Reuh 2017-08-04T10:17:06Z

@chaotikza : Thanks! It should be fixed.

You Are Mech by Captain Laserstorm 2017-08-17T16:07:39Z

Fun game, but it feels a bit repetitive. It would be nice to have more enemies variety.

Good job!

Giuseppe's Kidnapping by VEGACIDE 2017-08-02T17:54:13Z

Love the mechanic of the screen fading out. This, the music and the grey & red graphics really create tension! Trying to optimize your movement as you see less and less the screen...

And the level design was well done. Challenging and with the difficulty gradually increasing.

If you plan on improving the game later, please add level saving. I went too far and my window closed, now I really want to finish the game but D:

All my points to you (well, except humor, but...).

Nice and fun idea. Really went into panic typing mode when random events appeared, still managed to survive 169s. Well done!

LD42 — Running out of space

S. O. Nic Adventure by Reuh 2018-08-15T17:51:28Z

@arche-san @trocentraisin I think I just fixed it.

Crowdy Planet by arche-san 2018-08-15T19:19:41Z

Fun game, I really love the mechanic! I probably killed a few thousands crowdies while trying to contain the blue plague :D. Great graphics, fitting sounds. It got too repetitive for me at the 4th cycle, there is no difference between each cycle right? With some more variety, this could become pretty addictive. It's more about filling space than running out of it, though. Great game.

LD57 — Depths

Align The Sea by CursedEmbassy 2025-04-09T11:57:11Z

Love the intro art :) The concept is alright, tough it gets repetitive after a while (maybe a bit too slow?).

Rappel the Porter by Reuh 2025-04-09T10:01:50Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We've added a couple gifs, hopefully that makes it easier to understand.

@zettasimp @alpalcalad it's likely those objects were given at some point but ended up glitching out of the bag; Godot's physics engine hasn't been very cooperative unfortunately (and replacing it with something else would be out-of-scope for the post-deadline bugfixes). I've reduced the request probability of lost items as a workaround, hopefully it becomes less of a problem.

The Depths of Planet Z73 by LanaLux 2025-04-09T12:19:07Z

Very impressive for a compo game :O Great atmosphere, nice visuals, and fun to play too! Well done!

Deeper than the depths by Tiger00746 2025-04-09T11:16:48Z

The game doesn't load for me, and there's nothing on the itch page...

It's That Deep by jazzydingo 2025-04-09T10:59:03Z

After two confused playthroughs and looking up what “I’m Going On a Picnic” was, I think I understood the concept (the first rule was about the last letter, right?) - but since there's not that much objects to choose from it's easier to brute force than think about it. An example of a puzzle + solution would have helped. Nice sound design and mood!

Helluva Ride by Lazar Cvetkovic 2025-04-09T11:14:21Z

Love the visuals and presentation. But the collisions with the walls are pretty frustrating. Took me a few tries to understand that I had to avoid the items, not collect them x)
