Beautiful graphics and good music! I wish it was a longer game... :)

Beautiful graphics and good music! I wish it was a longer game... :)
Alright, so this was seriously cool! Congrats! I've died 30 times, but finally managed to find the treasure. :)
Wow, this is spectacular! Great graphics and sounds, but the best is the gameplay. It's very smooth and polished, I loved this one! Congratulations.
There is an ending! It was awesome to find out that you can actually win the game... It was really fun! :)
Finally I've got to try out this game! :) I've really liked the effects, the bulletstorms, and also the music. Also the dialog system was a cool addition. The second bossfight was too difficult for me, I couldn't beat her, there were too many bullets and insta-death. It was fun to play! Oh, the Z key is swapped on my keyboard with Y because of the hungarian layout, so it was kind of difficult to use the other controls. Nice job guys, keep it up! :)
Nice job for such a short timespan! It's Game Maker, isn't it? I like this game, but it's way too difficult for me. And the difficulty comes from the fact I cannot move and then jump, I have to jump first and then I can move... Which caused me -25 lives. Sigh. But that killer trap part in the upper left is on purpose, I'm absolutely sure. Nice game, I liked it, but please fix the controls :)
Hey I've made a running game too! :D I like this one because although it's difficult, it guides you towards a good practice. The graphics is also cool... Maybe add some music? Nice job for the compo, congratulations! :)
Very cool entry! I like the music and the pacing. It's has some clever ideas like the shrinking visibility range that expands temporarly when you fire up the thruster, and the thruster making new caverns in the cave by melting rocks. Cohesive, solid game, ableit too difficult, for me at least. :) It was fun, thanks for making it! :D
Hey, I've really liked this one! The concept is very nice and all the pieces work well together. I guess the laser sound effects are stopped when they hit the UFO? Maybe they are stopped too quickly when the UFO is close to a turret.
About the abduction part... man, how did this thing even fly here when it discharges quicker than a regular smartphone?! :D It basically harvests the population of a village in a minute. Oh, there was a moment when the UFO was flying all over the place by itself, I guess the controls were stuck, at least they were non reactive.
Overall, I liked playing it, really cool stuff. Make more games! :)
Impressive entry for 48 hours! Nice little story, graphics, audio but it's mood is what I liked the best. Please make it playable with WASD + mouse only! (No need for separate keys.) Well done, keep it up! :)
Excellent one! :D Rated M for mature. I love the humor, the style and the simplicity of it. One thing was really difficult for me, sometimes I didn't see if a positive or negative charge is coming next... making the signs bigger or painting it red would solve this. Very well done! :)
What a great little shooter! I love shooters anyway, and this one just feels good. I love the screen shake and particle effects, and the explosions! The powerups is also a nice touch. One thing, this resolution doesn't really play nice with the texts, some of them are cut off. Solid work, I've enjoyed it, so thanks for creating it. :)
P.S. I can help you with autoscaling if you're interested, PM me on the Love2D forums!
I like the graphics, and the gameplay part was a nice idea. The controls were in reverse for me, I expected to go up when I press down, and vica versa. I can see you've put your best into this, for example I really liked the HUD, the trails were anice touch and the movement was very smooth. Keep it up :)
Hello! I cannot try out your game because the link you've provided throws a page not found error (404). Could you fix it please?
I liked it, however sometimes I couldn't pass through the zombie parts... And if you're standing on the ramp, it is problematic when zombies are coming from the bottom. I liked the sound effect and the graphics. Good one! :)
Hey, it says there is no data folder... Will you fix it please?
Congratulations! You entry is really unique, and not only that, but it's quite fun. :) It would have been so great to be able to actually try out the game that I have created in the game! I'd like to see that in a post-jam version. Make more games ;)
What a peaceful, charming, entertaining game! Great voice acting, I love the idea of an eldery super hero, who is losing his powers. Also the humor was very nice in this one. I've cought myself smiling all the time while playing this... okay, except for the ending... why??? Why did you have to do this to Shman? Great game overall, makke moar plz, makke moar. :)
I like the graphics and the mood! Are you sure about this orientation though? It's turned 90 degrees anticlockwise on my computer... Okay, nevermind! I've just read the description. :) Keep it up!
Oh, I love the gore! This is a viking warrior, right? I love the viking character and the bears. :) It fits very well together: the sounds, the graphics, the music, the effects. One thing did not really work well for me is the controls. Sometimes they just stuck. Overall, very fun game! Congratulations :)
I've made an endless runner too. :) Thanks for providing a linux version! Very nice entry, simple but fun, I just wish it wouldn't be instant death when you hit an asteroid, but damaging the ship hull instead. I like the mini story you've written, too bad the pilot can never succeed... :D Overall, I liked your game, now I'm off for rating.
What a solid entry guys, this one is over the top! Probably the best game I've played so far. I love the 3D effect you've got there (layered sprites?), the hand-painted background, the music and the gameplay! They're all just work together very well, feels already quite polished. The menu was a bit too simple in contrast to everything else, but you've put your efforts to the right place. Any plans for the future with this game? Nice teamwork, make more gems like this :D
I like the atmosphere of the game, the sound effects and the ambient music are nice, and the UI graphics is quite fitting. I would like to have more visual and audio feedback of my actions -- to see the connection between my actions and the reactions. I like it, keep it up :)
Well, mommy has a very nice voice. ;) Who she is? That alarm sound was a bit too loud for me though. Simple but nice concept, perfect for gamers with short attention span like me. :D Sometimes, although the toy was partially visible, I couldn't click on them for some reason. Keep it up, guys! :)
Very good job, congratulations! :) I really like the graphics, the setting, and the mood. I'd love the game 100% more if it would not be that time consuming to achieve something (like draining a battery cell). I like the upgrad functionality, nice touch. Are you planning to make a post-jam version?
Thank you guys! Yeah, sometimes you cannot avoid getting hit, you have to make a little sacrifice... like in real life. :) By the way, I'm planning to make a post-jam version later, fix and fine-tune the gameplay and other elements.
Haha, good thinking! :) I wanted to add a power-up, but had no time to implement it. I'll add one in the post-jam version though. Thanks for playing and for your feedback!
Thank you guys for playing, and for the kind words, I really appreciate them! :) Now I'm going to test your games ;)
Hey, thanks mate! :)
Thank you guys for playtesting and rating!
Nice to see another runner here. :) The inspiration for this game comes from real life, maybe I should mention this in the drscription.
I took a day break from coding, but the mobile version is coming soon.
Hey guys! Thank you, I'm glad you like it :) I'm really happy that people like my game, and I appreciate your constructive feedbacks. I've started fixing and polishing the game yesterday.
@poffle Hey, that's actually great idea! I wanted to create a powerup for this, but the adrenaline shot from the close calls is even a better idea... I'm going to implement it. :)
@toadietechnika Nice score! Thanks for playing and rating :)
Thank you! It will be much easier at the beginning in the post-jam version :)
Hey everyone! Thank you very much for playing and also for the great feedback! :) Gaining willpower is implemented in the upcoming version, and also there will be "gaps" where you can avoid running into something.
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback :)
Thanks, Jupi! :)
Thanks! Well, the theme was 'Running out of power', and the main character is running out of his willpower as he hits more and more obstacles. This is also explained after the title screen.
@catoto: Thanks! I'm curious about your game, I hope I'll have time to check it out soon. :) ... Oh I just realised I've already played your game! I really liked that one :D
@ddrkirbyisq: Thank you too! Good idea, I might include it somewhere. :) Yeah, well it's part of the fun that you outrun the vehicles.
@belga54: Nice score, man! ;) The theme is mentioned right at the start of this entry, and also in the game: 'Help Will not to lose his willpower while preparing for a running competition.' ... See? Running out of willpower? :)
@shell-pirate: Thanks! Originally I wanted to draw a face instead of the heart, so it would have been more clear that it's not health bar, but a mood-meter: it would have ranged from a smiley face to a sad face.
@derpyjish: I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing :)
Thank for the kind words, @matita! :)
Thanks @larrychupacabra for playing it, and also for the feedback! :) I'm on it. :D
It does not run for me :( I can only see the splash screen and listen to the background music, but as soon as I hit enter, it crashes...!
@franfox It's Windows 10. Is there a log or something I could help you with to fix it?
Yeah the physics is really wierd. :) But you have a moving character, levels and collision detection, so it's up to you at this point if you want to make this game better, or create a new one from scratch... you have learned either way. So, keep it up! :)
This was one of the most story-oriented, yet hectic game I've played during this Ludum Dare so far! :) Well done, guys. Apart from the platformer part, the "God miracles VS Umph's free wifi to gain worshippers" aspect was unexpected and full of surprises. The graphics, sounds, music are perfectly fine for a jam like this. It's clear to me that you guys had fun developing this game, but I also had fun playing through it. Keep it up! :)
I liked this one! The enemies were fun to defeat, and I like the mechanics. I think a music would have added a lot to it. Nice entry, I hope you make a post-jam version of it with a little extra juice. I see you have very few votes on it so far, you should play and rate others' games! There is still a couple of days left. :)
@derpyjish: Figuring out the mechanics took me a couple of tries, say 4 or 5. I did not mind it, it's part of the game and it did not took that long. :)
I love the audio and the graphics! You've created a very cool atmosphere with this '80s era cyberpunk vibe. The only thing I'm not very keen of is the controls.. I wasn't sure if it makes a difference where I aim at when attacking? I also couldn't cast any of the specials. Very solid entry overall, congratulations! :)
Very cool! I love the main character :) The art direction is coherent, maybe the music could be a bit less repetitive, altough it gives a rushing feel to the game. I like the screen transitions, the start screen parallax effect, the clear contrast between the background and the foreground. I hope to see more games from you! Cheers
This game is really cool indeed! I had great fun while playing it :) The idea of recharging depleated batteries and swapping them to use in subsystems is superb. Thanks for making this game :) Now I rate it and I go back for another round...
Nice game you've got here! I liked the bullet and explosion effects! I've felt the movement of the character was a bit slow though, and audio would have helped a ton. It would be nice to have a litte space to breathe when a new level starts, and not to drop the player right int the middle of the action. Overall, I liked your game, it was fun! Keep it up. :)
Oh this one is quite fun! :D Finally I got time for playing with it. Nice job, man! The more I've got used to the controls and the gameplay, the more time I've spent grouping the enemies into big horde, to strike all of them at once. One thing I'd like to see as an addition is my score at the end. Oh yeah, and how about being able to change the active skill with the right mouse button? Only in one direction.
I really liked the mechanics in this one! It gets hectic quickly as you open up new rooms while searching for batteries, and the horde of enemies come closer and closer. I could build a turret but I wasn't able to build any more because I haven't found any. Maybe they are farther away? I also liked the graphics - simple but functional, controls felt right, my only problem is the lack of sounds effects and maybe a music. At least, I couldn't hear a thing, although turning up and down the volume on my speaker. Nice game, I enjoyed playing it. Keep up the good work! :)
Victoryyy!!! After a couple of attempts, I've made it :) I liked your game, but tell me, why only one soldier has to do the hard work? The others are clearly just having a good time :D A music and some sound effects would have spiced up this game a little bit. Overall, nice one, I had fun! Keep it up :)
I love the sound at the startup screen, the music, and the graphics! They all fit together, nice job creating the mood. For some reason, after a couple of wires, I cannot seem to be able to cut off any more. Why is that? I feel like we've made kinda similar games, btw. I liked your game, nice job! :)
I always loved asteroid shooters :) Everything was working together nicely, I liked the graphics, especially the ship and the starfield. The control is a bit wierd though... or at least I was expecting to rotate the ship with A and D, and not to move it left and right. Nice job on sticking with the theme. Keep it up! :)
Hello @karai17! :) This game is refreshing, I really like the feel of it! Potato mode looks awesome, I like it much better than the normal mode. Animations in 3D is especially impressive knowing that there's Love2D behind the scenes... :) Thank you guys for creating this! I'd like to see a third iteration.
Hey, you could market your game a little bit to receive more ratings!
What a beautiful and polished entry! I did not get to the sacrificing part so the experience was really peaceful and heartwarming for me. The graphics is excellent, the physics and the mechanics are solid, the music is chilling. The effects like underwater, falling leaves, shiny crystals were a nice addition. You can be proud of yourselves, thank you guys :) Cheers
I've... edited the file and slowed down the letters to my pace. :3 Minimalistic, but fun! A variation for this gameplay could be to write sentences by pressing the active letter AND having to remember which letter was already pressed.
I have won! :D I've really enjoyed this one! The idea is very good and refreshing. The atmosphere was well built by the music and the graphics! My only gripe was the mouse panning... it was too easy to click outside the window. Overall it was a very nice experience, thank you :) Cheers
I really suck at tower defense games. :) I liked it, the mechanics work well, and you really have to sacrifice in order to win the game. Good one, keep it up! ;)
Allright so this is actually a finished Product. Gorgeous work, the best entry I have seen so far. Thanks for creating it!
Ohhoho this is a fun idea, and it's nicely done! I loved the intro by the way :D The controls make it difficult to navigate... Make it a bit easier next time, please. :)
@subtlydramatic Will do after werk. Cheers mate ;)
Hello! Nice entry you've got here! I liked the FPS-voxel-hack-and-slash style. :) The lighting effects and the mosters look cool! There were only 2 problems I've encountered: the mouse pointer is captured so I cannot exit the game by closing the window. And I suspect the start button coordinates are hard-coded so when using a different resulution you cannot press start.
PS. Guys please consider marketing your game a bit, you could have much more ratings!
I like this entry! The grapics is nice and I really liked the animations. The game itself is too hard for me, but I can feel the progression during my (short) gameplays. After playing for a while, I think the balance is really nice, and my biggest complaint is not your fault: clicking out of the window while shooting :D
PS. You should market your game a little bit to get more ratings! Cheers
I was sad to see I could not help the others waiting in the shed when I got back... but I was not sad enough not to cannibalize their earthly remains in order to survive. :D Nice entry, I liked the concept. I just wanted to see indicators, where is the cabin, how are the others holding up.
Very well executed, any way you slice it :D My only gripe is somehow I feel uneasy... which is especially odd for me, considering my nick name.
Very nice entry! I like the atmosphere you have created... It's interesting to see how much personality you can add with clever writing, utilizing the player's fantasy. Good job! :)
I liked the title screen, the idea itself and the mood! :) One problem I have found is somehow I could move around and interact with a dead monk. It's kinda spooky walking around in the dark with such a small light radius. Might have been even more dreadful if the radius was bigger but the darkness would completely cover the worms... and if you could overtake the worms, while knowing they would be always coming for you! :D
Allright, so you guys have created a complete, story-oriented action game in 3 days?? Awesome mood, complete UI, eerie audio, voice acting, great music, terminal UI, shaders, cool mechanics, superb writing, mirror effect, footsteps, shadow effect, physic interaction with objects, multiple levels, cheesecake <3, cool animations and pixel art, and a boss fight! Phew, it's long even to list them all, yet you had to create all of these in such a short time... You can be proud, guys. This is a very solid entry! Also, Löve <3
I liked the idea, but the pacing is waaay to slow for me. An indicator of the active player could have been handy... as I was playing hotseat alone :P
I loved this little game, I love those games that makes me smile. Thanks for creating it! :) The music and the graphics are perfectly fit for the game mechanics and the theme. Everything is nice and easy. Cheers :)
Hey @mr-chocolatesalmon! Thanks for the nice words! Yeah, uploading to itch.io is a great idea, I will do it later. Also, I will test your game after work ;) About the different dresses: my brother also suggested this. :) It's on my todo list, I would like to fix it in the post-jam version.
@mr-chocolatesalmon I've made an itch.io page!
@tintreiro Thank you very much! The music was created by Eric Skiff, and it was found by my brother.
@smbe19 Thanks for playing! Oh yeah, there are 27 gems on the level :)
@hechi I'm glad you like it! It's interesting that some people say the character moves too quickly while others like the way it is. Personally I feel it's just a bit too quick, but I didn't wanted to change the speed in the very last moment... That never goes well. :)
@craftlord Cool! Thanks for playing ;)
@banjoduarte Well, there are gems that you can only reach if you sacrifice a crew member. Maybe I should have done that unavoidable?
@subtlydramatic Thank you! I've been experimenting with the colors so that they make the important game elements stand out more.
@arvejeitor Really? I'm curious :)
@viktris 3.000.000 FPS?? Wow :D But... VSync is enabled...
@goudagames Thank you for your kind words! This is my first platformer, so I'm really glad that it's enjoyable.
@aurel Thanks for playing! Oh yeah, the messages. :D I wish I had more time during the jam to make another level, or a bigger one.
@corbak I'm glad you were so persistent! Thank you very much :)
@kypello Awesome, thanks! :) It's great to read you guys liked it!
@arkiruthis Wow, thanks for the praise! :D
@madbear-gang You're right, for example the character is actually running in mid air while jumping :)
@jens-steenmetz Yep, I think it's clear that this addition is a must if I make a post-jam version, many of you guys have mentioned it.
@raisethedead Thank you for your kind words!
@samuel-fine I agree, though I think maybe Buddy should be just a tiny bit slower. Thank you! :)
Thank you very much, @karai17 ! I thought I have already answered your comment, sorry about that! :) I guess it's better late than never? So yeah, I plan to paint the crew members differently. Thanks for playing! :)
@edmanbosch Thanks for playing! :) Oh yeah, those platforms that are just above the spikes? They are on purpose... Since the theme was 'Sacrifices must be made'. ;) I agree with the camera movement. There was a better one during development, but I didn't have time to finish it so I have reverted the changes. I thought the current camera is good enough for the 5 minute gameplay. Thanks for the tip though! Cheers
@leorean Awww thank you! :D
@donitz Thx! Yeah my brother has also tried to jump out of the level in every corner... :P
@pickens-inc Thanks for the comprehesive review! Yes, crew members standing outside (or selecting one before leaving the ship, as my brother suggested) would be a nice addition... We'll see in the post-jam version. :) This controls-feel-odd thing is interesting. Kevin, my brother, also had issues with the controls but I have tested it 3 computers (2 windows, 1 linux) and the webgl versions too as I was suspecting something related to delta timing. I dunno. If I increase the lag purposefully then yes I can make a situation where the movement is off, but everywhere else I've felt the controls are the same. If it is not a techincal issue, then it must be personal preference... and I know I cannot please everyone. :)
@simon-rahnasto Hello Simon! :) Nah, I will never forget Löve, I still miss it! But I have less free time to tinker with mechanics recently and maybe even less patience... so I wanted to see what's the fuss is about. Thank you for your kind words! Today I've added different skins for the player characters. About the controls: it might be a technical problem, I need more time invesigate it. I mean, they might have experienced something else on their computers. I'm curious about your game (your games are always very polished), I hope I can try it out soon. Cheers :)
@devharts Thanks! Oh yeah, that's intentional. The camera is shaking and there is a rumbling sound as an indicator when the lava comes. :P
For those who had problems with the controls: you were right! I've uploaded a fixed version on itch.io (but I also provide the original version).
The new post-jam version will be updated from time to time. Now it contains the popular claim: different skins for the astronauts.
@smbe19 Yeah, sure: https://imgur.com/a/GCosnd5
@bmopapa Thank you very much :) I hope @stylor will help me by making a couple of levels :D
@franfox Hey! :) I'm glad you liked it! Good idea showing the entire crew, @pickens-inc also has suggested something similar. About the jumping: what would you change about it?
@franfox Actually I want to add prportional jumping, as in "the longer you press the higher you jump", with the current limit as the maximum height.
Oh, thank you very much, @jupiter-hadley :) I'm going to watch it right now :D
@alext-design Thank you very much! Yes, I did build and balance the level for quite a while. As I recall, I thought I will create it in an hour but it was like 3 hours or more. I'll watch your gameplay video when I get home. Thanks for playing! :)
Thank you very much, @acaral :)
@frescogusto Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it. :D
Hey @exilegl and @miziziziz thanks for the nice words! :) I plan to add jump height and other small features. In fact, I've been working on the game after the jam when I have a little spare time.
@rik Yeah, really they are! :) Thanks for the nice words!
Hey there! :) I love the pixel art and animations, the jump animation is very juicy (are you squeezing the character?), and the player movement is very fluid. I like the minimalistic approach: less is more. The game is super hard though... I hate the jumping spikes! :D I've seen some visual glitches when starting up the game in fullscreen mode (there were lines along the tiles). Very solid entry, I'm looking forward to your next game! ;) Cheers, pal!
@franfox Cool! Subtle effects like this squeezing adds a lot to the animation. I played the Linux version, I believe. Happy New Year! :)
I liked your game, it has a great atmosphere! Melancholic ambient vibes and polished UI... I'm looking forward to 2019 to play your next title :)
This is freaking awesome! Makes me happy. Everything is spot on... Very funny blablablabla :D I love the animations, the pixel art, the mood, really... make more games pls :)
Nice game! I liked the graphics a lot, it is clean and friendly, I'm sure youre dauthers also liked it! :) After a week only on Godot this is even a bigger accomplishment, everything works, you have animated sprites, a camera following the player, scene changes, sounds and interactions. Congrats! :)
Cool entry! I loved the graphics and the animations! The mechanics are solid and they fit the theme well. I only had issues with the controls, sometimes they just stuck and I keep running in a direction. There sould have been more arrows with the bow. It was fun to play! Cheers :)
I liked it! Nice artwork and audio. It could be a little longer though. :)
I liked your entry, however it looks like I'm a slow clicking person. You have used Godot just like me, how did you like it? Klassz hogy rĂĄtok talĂĄltam! :) (I'm glad I've found you guys)
Hey this one was funny :) I really liked the animations and the mood of the game. The music was also very fitting. The mechanics could have been a bit more "fluid" and "smoother", if you know what I mean. ;) I liked that you emphasize we should not put the workers under the knives. :D Also, smoothies <3
HOLY SHIT WE DID IT :D Very nice design! I was surprised to see a card game (beacause non-video game entries are rare to find). I would like to see more entries like this! You can be proud :)
V for Victory! Nice game for your first Ludum Dare! :) You have finished it on time, your game mechanics work, you have a story, your game is a quick play, and easily accessible on the web. Keep all of these for next LD! Cheers ;)
I wish you had more time to finish it! I love racoons and I was curious if the mountain would explode if I found enough popcorns. :)
Okay, this is seriously cool! I love the RTS mechanics and also the art is cute! I hope you will make more games later. Cheers! :)
Lovely entry! It's fun to play :) I like the art style and the game fits the theme very well. hope to see you next time too! Cheers :)
I would love to play this title because it makes me nostalgic, but I cannot! Please add a linux version. Thanks in advance :)
