Really fun shoot-em-up. I got a little bit confused when I pressed E and I ran around as a dog for a while, but I thought it was really funny.
I really enjoyed moving around blowing up robots left and right.
I played this game for a while and I found it pretty enjoyable. At first I wanted to evade the bullets. Then I decided that I am mainly a turret and I will be the best turret. The bullets all look amazing and its really cool to watch them bounce around. A soon as I realized that both mouse buttons fire weapons that made it way cooler. For some reason I am able to eject my little dood from his mech and fly around. Also I can eject something like a battery or something. Its weird but it is fun to zip around as the little guy and it looks like he shoots but I couldn't figure it out. Neat!
Very graphically pleasing shmup! A bit on the easy side especially considering how terrible I was with the tank controls. Only needs a good soundtrack to accompany the explosions and this is a gem.
I was also confused about the dog bit? After that I got to lvl 11, felt like quite a long time. Really enjoyed the graphics, captures the frantic bullet hell feel well.
Definitely a bullet hell game. Not sure what that hamster was doing in the middle of those battle robots/ships, but it was fun. Maybe you could describe the controls? The bullets flying around look very cool! No audio? :(
For your first game ever, you should be very proud! This game has great graphics and is well designed and polished. I enjoyed being able to sit back, hold down the left and right mouse buttons, and just watch the bullets fly. The bullet graphics and were great and I liked how they bounced off the walls. One thing I would recommend would be having the ability to strafe, but that is just a preference. All the little details were well done, and adding a little music would make it even better. Overall, great job!
Inspired in nuclear throne?? nice concept but the lack of audio the fact that is a bit repetetive make it shine a little bit less, in any case good Job
This game seems to have a lot of potential but it just hasn't been polished to that point yet. The Art is very good and shooting mechanics and level generation is looking good, however the UI is lacking and the feedback to the player is lacking, because the health and stuff is all right above the mech i didn't even notice what it was till level 3. I think if you added some audio for hitting/being hit and a UI mapped to the screen that will pop out a bit will make this much better. I will say though that for your first game this is very good, ruins my first game and that took me 2 months.
i liked the game play is good, have pontetial, keep working on this project !
Nice idea and graphics but the controls are just awful. It's not bullet hell if you don't have precise control over your character and why even have shooting on mouse buttons if you can't aim with mouse. I really wanted to like this game but the controls are horrible. Other than that everything is good.
Really fun game, but instead of rotating player with A and D it would be better to rotate him with mouse. Particle and trail effects are just awesome. Also UI could be better, it is now a little bit unreadable.
Nice graphics, the particle effects on enemy death are really inventive in places. Needs audio badly, of course.
The controls are very tanky. There is no way to dodge anything so it all simply boils down to shooting both barrels at anything around. I got to level 12 and there wasn't a single point where I had less than 90% power. Way too easy.
The lack of challenge is the bigger problem out of the two. Running around as the dog didn't seem to serve any purpose either, maybe having to fetch some items to recharge the mech would have worked.
Good work for a first timer.
Nice game you've got here! I liked the bullet and explosion effects! I've felt the movement of the character was a bit slow though, and audio would have helped a ton. It would be nice to have a litte space to breathe when a new level starts, and not to drop the player right int the middle of the action. Overall, I liked your game, it was fun! Keep it up. :)
I love the visuals of the game, the sprites and the bullet effects create for a really nice feel. I think it would have helped to have sound and some more precise controls though. A bullet hell is chaotic, and so it helps to be able to turn directions quickly and be accurate with your firing (perhaps if bullets fired towards the mouse rather than straight forward?).
For a first game though, you should be pretty chuffed with yourself! It's my first Ludum Dare as well, and someone suggested to me that I make a post jam version of my game, perhaps you could do the same with yours? It'd make quite a cool game I reckon! Either way, congrats on your first even Ludum Dare!
The bullet effects are awesome. As the others mentioned, the movement would be so much nicer, if you could aim. Very solid, nice! :)
