only 5 arrows? seriously? :) good game, hard, those choices are sometimes like 1 less life OR 1 less life :) The art is nice. sometimes it felt like my controls were stuck - character was running into some direction and I could steer him up and down but couldn't stop
I really like the game. Funny and interesting mechanics. I'm assuming there's a strategy with the sacrifices xD

@dusho Thank you for your feedback :) Actually each time you start a new wave, the 5 arrows are resplenished, so if you keep it, you can have it for some time. About being stuck I guess it has to do with the browser you use. I don't why this happens, I will investigate it.
@mateusboga Thank you for your kind words. We ran out of time so we putted everything we could. We had so many issues with internet, discord, unity xD oh well !

Nicely done! I like all the spritework going on here. I was pleased as punch that sacrificing a leg actually took my leg away!
As for the combat itself, I kind of wish I could swing my sword in any direction while I'm moving. As it is now, it pretty difficult (or impossible?) to swing at an incoming swarm of enemies without taking a lot of damage from having to stop, turn around, and swing at a slow rate.
The sacrifice mechanic is pretty neat, though! It gives it almost a roughlite feel, but with the progression reversed. I also like the variety of enemy AI as well to shake things up. Pretty ambitious to make in such a short amount of time!

@coleslaughter Thanks for your feedback, we thought about swinging the sword in all directions, but it wasn't very consistent with the look of the game, so we decided to keep it in 2 directions instead. The game is meant to be difficult so that you really think about what to sacrifice ;-)
Hi, great game, really cool atmosphere imo. Ripping off legs etc. Is a cool mechanic and kind of amusing. I think you could've done a bit better with lighting, because everything is looking very flat RN. Maybe some contact shadows or something like that
Really solid entry, we also thought of a similar idea of sacrificing abilities and it's great to see another take on the idea :smiley:! Presentation was great and controls tight, would have been great to orientate the character with the mouse too, so you can attack enemies while walking in a different direction! Sacrificing eyes in exchange for a darker view was a good one. Congratulation on your entry!

I like the use of the theme. We were thinking of something similar for ours, originally. However, a lot of the sacrifices boil down to "lose 1 heart". And if you sacrifice speed, you're screwed when the projectiles come in. But the loss of sight was a really cool one. More like that would be awesome.
I'm a little bit disappointed with the combat. The AI's strategy is just to approach you. If you can get them all on one side, wait for them to come to you and spam click, they'll walk into your sword and die. Arrows don't do enough damage, and they're more of a hindrance against the projectile enemies because of how far back they push them.
I love the Flash art style. It reminds me of classic Binding of Isaac.

Love the anti-Metroidvania mechanics and the bow feels really cool, but I wish the sword would swing toward the mouse like the bow does. Would also be nice to be able to aim the shield or toggle it with a button since it's a challenge to block projectiles.

Wow! This is a pretty fun brutal game! Sacrificing each round is so BRUTAL! Great use of theme and really cute aesthetics. Why is it an angel taking away your parts anyway? Shouldn't it be a devil or something? lol

Great stuff, I really like the sacrifice aspect of the game.
I don't understand why the bow has only 5 arrows though. The sword is much better just because of that.

"The black knight ALWAYS TRIUMPHS!" or not haha this game is as difficult as it is well designed. I am extraordinarily impressed with the level of fluid gameplay and balancing you were able to pull off in a Jam. Great Job!

I was getting stuck in motion as well :( Also agree that there was not much of a choice sometimes - lose heart anyways. I don't know if the stucking was the problem, but sometimes I wasn't sure which direction I attack or wheter enemies can reach me and I can reach them or not. Still pretty strong foundation, when not bugging, the movement felt pretty nice, sfx were good, graphics really stylish. Overall good fun for a while! Thanks for that!

I enjoyed playing this but it got a little redundant when each sacrifice was just to lose a heart, should have made the randomness so lose a heart was never paired with lose a heart, so there appeared to be a choice. Still it was a lot of fun and well thought out. It was funny and on theme.

I really liked the concept this could make a nice finished game good job
Good use of theme, cute character and fun gameplay, would like to see this developed further. Could be cool to find new items to sacrifice in later rounds,

Cool entry! I loved the graphics and the animations! The mechanics are solid and they fit the theme well. I only had issues with the controls, sometimes they just stuck and I keep running in a direction. There sould have been more arrows with the bow. It was fun to play! Cheers :)
Pretty sweet game!
The mechanics worked well and the choices were integrated smoothly. I think my problem was that the cursor for my mouse was invisible, so it was a little hard to tell what I was clicking until after it was selected (I played the itch.io version).

My only major gripe was the fact that I couldn't attack UP and DOWN. When kiting the enemies around, I had to be to the left and right of them to attack.
Then, after I gave up my eyes, for the first wave, it blocked out the UI so I had no idea how much health I had. Eventually I think the data came back on subsequent waves, but was still a bit jarring.
Otherwise, fun game.

I am willing to sacrifice my bow because I don't use it much in this game. It's funny to see that you're sacrificing some stuff you needed for the next fight in order to make things more difficult. Great job.
