Whoa! This is fantastic! The art and animation is crisp and charming. The controls are perfect. The ship feels like it has a nice weight to it. The mechanics are well thought out and implemented well. So far this has to be my favorite entry. Great pick-up-and-play ability! Great job!
Btw, what is happening when the ship goes crazy and just keeps full thrust?
@theoddpotion, Thanks!
"Btw, what is happening when the ship goes crazy and just keeps full thrust?"
Tbh, I have no idea, haven't come across that before, and can't seem to replicate it yet.
Very nice retro-styled game with awesome graphics and sounds. Really nice gameplay mechanics, it is hard but easy to learn.

Very good) my score = 2 )
This is a great little game! The atmosphere was fantastic, and while the ship bounced just a little too much, it felt very good to control. Congratulations on an entry well done!

Lots of random thoughts:
Great use of dual-purpose mechanics! Clicking moves you around, clears a path, increases light temporarily, and drains fuel. Put together with the bounciness of the ship, it certainly makes for some interesting decisionmaking. Trying to go fast by going ham on the thrusters actually ends up making you slower due to the cramped nature of the level and the bouncy-ness of the ship. Did you consider making the glow-things visible when the area is not illuminated by the player? I wonder what that would be like  After a couple of attempts I developed a technique of pinning myself against a wall in a narrow space and blasting away a big chunk of terrain. Being able to develop higher-level strats is a cool feeling! Cool menu theme, I sat there for a good minute listening to what you had put together. Very nice title screen art! Solid entry. Gonna get back to improving my high score now :joystick:

Great game! Kinda reminds me of Mark Brown's video on Downwell. Did you get inspiration from him?

It looks pretty original but I didn't get the point of the game like a HUD or something showing you your goal. But as I said it looks so good, so nice job!
Great game.
There is a bug: sometimes after you release mouse button thruster is still active. I also think that music from main menu should be played thru entire game.

I've got out of memory error when flew far away out of the maze. And itch.io win download contains no Data folder so it's unplayable. Please attach it as zip-archive both exe and Data.
I love how main game mechanic works and feels. But I think it requires some progression and goals (e.g. reach poin X for N seconds, or find Z gems, or find exit, etc).
Here is my playtest:

I love this game. One thing that I find a bit difficult though is finding where points are.

Nice game. The art and sounds are great and the game mechanics are clever and well done. My only problem is that It depended on chances for me; in some cases I spawn with light orbs near-by and in some case I wander till dying without finding a single orb. I don't know it this how it is meant to be. Anyway, it is a good game and I enjoyed it a lot.

the controls feel nice. Using the engine to melt off the environment can be a bit tedious because it's hard to aim while flying backwards.
The placement of the light orbs feels completely random, they should be more spread out. Maybe also more of them. At this point you're digging into another part with no other light orb around, so you just die.
At another time you find 3 stacked right next to each other. Some powerups would be cool to have as well. Like temporary boosts or extra mobility.
The graphics are simple and work really fell, the sound effects make it feel a bit more alive and interesting to play, although a bit of music would have been nice to have as well..

I like the idea, the ship is a bit too lightweight for me and avoiding walls was difficult. I wasn't able to go past 2 but i found the mechanic really interesting.

Quite an unusual game. The way of movement and the connection between visibility and energy are very interesting. But I think that there is too little open space for movement and when you try to cut your way through walls, you bump into everything. Besides, sound effects and art are pretty nice. Well done!

Very cool entry! I like the music and the pacing. It's has some clever ideas like the shrinking visibility range that expands temporarly when you fire up the thruster, and the thruster making new caverns in the cave by melting rocks. Cohesive, solid game, ableit too difficult, for me at least. :) It was fun, thanks for making it! :D
Managed to get to 16 points/power (one to one ratio, I suppose?). Using the thruster for everything is a nice piece of minimal design, but it does make mining somewhat arduous having to constantly spin the ship around.
I would try adding another functionally identical thruster to the front of the ship controlled with RMB. That might allow for some quicker/fancier moves around the asteroid as if dodging hazards and enemies *hint*, *hint*, *nudge*, *nudge*.
Quality work!
