The game looks fun from the page, but just an android build means most can't play it, myself included. I'd love to try it if you could get another build out there.

nice art there :)

Cool pixel art, and from the video it looks like quite a fun game! I especially like how it's a trade-off between speed and power, and how it's like an infinite runner crossed with those 'click red or blue' mobile games :) Plus, you're literally running and running out of power :P

Hi @death-is-cold, I was able to build for macOS, working on the windows build now... even so, the game was made thinking for mobile ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Cool entry! Simple but fun. I wish there were some form of instructions though - I struggled to understand why I was being zapped sometimes but rewarded other times. I also didn't realise that white pylons with no wiring could be used to increase your power until after five attempts. I thought the timing of the animation vs the button press was a little misleading - I'd prefer the animation to line up with the pylon. If that means there's a delay between button pressing and the collision check, I wouldn't even mind that - it makes the game more difficult but in an understandable way - as it stood I was confused whether I should be clicking when my guy passed the pylon or before my guy reached it.

Nice art, nice song choice, fun entry, just needs a description - even if it's even on your LD page.

Nice little game. Simple gameplay mechanic but it was fun. Good job!

I love the sound at the startup screen, the music, and the graphics! They all fit together, nice job creating the mood. For some reason, after a couple of wires, I cannot seem to be able to cut off any more. Why is that? I feel like we've made kinda similar games, btw. I liked your game, nice job! :)

I loved your game. Simple but a very nice work. Congrats! Valeu!

Really nice, although I do echo @maybelaterx 's thought as it was a little tricky to figure what to do, but once I did it was fun!

catoto 2017-08-13 03:26

@maybelaterx, I was able to make some changes on the Post JAM links with some minor changes. Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it.

@easy82 I wasn't able to reproduce this, can you check the same behavior on the Post JAM links?

I love jamming on android. I played several times, but I still do not get the logic behind getting zapped or getting points - it seems randomized level to level. Is it just that you have to memorize the colors as you go? Thats a bit tricky, especially for colorblind folks like me.

You should also really let your game be graded for audio, cuz the tune is awesome.

belga54 2017-08-16 14:35

I liked the gameplay, which was simple but cool. It was a little bit hard to cut a line. I survived for 604m. I dont know why you dont allow us to rate you on audio, the music was cool. Well done !

I really enjoyed the game but I didn't really know what wires to cut and what not to cut.

tuomo 2017-08-19 09:10

I liked art and sounds/music together. Gameplay was bit confusing for me, I didn’t understand why I sometimes got zapped. Was it random or did I do something wrong.. Overall loved the simplicity of it all, great job!

random-storykeeper 2017-08-19 21:56

I love the art style - the backgrounds are detailed, yet not distracting, which is a definite plus for me. As for the gameplay, I really like the idea, but as others said, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell which wires will give you power and which take away your power, which makes it less fun. If there was a consistent look (colour coded wires, or even wires that are "broken"), I think it would have been a lot more fun (you could then up the difficulty by increasing the speed gradually). Perhaps you could also consider a power limit, like you can't cut wires when you're over a certain amount of power. I can see this concept working quite well as a rhythm game, and you do have music put over the game that gives it a rhythm game feel.

So overall, I like the idea a lot, and the graphics are great. I can see a lot of directions this can improve post jam.

The main thing I don't understand is how to tell when a wire will give me power vs. when it will electrocute me. This is seriously important, because basically every time I played I would get a bunch of wires in a row that would all electrocute me, and I would almost never get more power. It basically seems like it's all luck, which kind of takes away most of the point of the game.

I do really like the idea of having less power = more speed, as that creates an interesting situation in regards to difficulty - you want to stay at high power so that you won't miss wires and consequently be more prone to missing more wires. It just kind of makes sense.

catoto 2017-08-20 21:16

@random-storykeeper and @themonsterfromthedeep, thank you very much for your feedback! If you could find time, please play the `post-jam` links and see if the game play are improved.

Cheers! \o/

Hello! Sorry, but I couldn't leave this thread without posting a comment. Your game is awesome! Yes, it is simple, but I think the beauty is in simplicity. The idea is cool, the sound is beautiful, the background is wonderful, the game is perfect! You put so much effort into this, incredible. It's not only funny but useful. I finished my electrician classes recently https://www.electricianclasses.com/how-to-find-work-as-an-electrician/ , and it's a good way to practice my skills. Big thanks to you. I am looking forward to new updates, sir!
