LD38 — A Small World

Petty Puny Planet 38 by JorgeGameDev 2017-05-08T15:35:47Z

Hey guys, LOVE this game! The art style and menus are amazing, the sound effects and music are spot on, you've uniquely interpreted the theme (the world as your virtual pet hahah), and its quite addicting too with lots of interesting choices:) Also, awesome job on your professional approach to the bug fix patch and replying to everyone's comment!

Congrats and best of luck

My Very Own World by Flipsy 2017-05-10T12:54:23Z

Fantastic game :) I really love how you've done something completely unique. Especially loved the choreography part, and the excellent musicality of your sound effects.

Feed The Anthill by StaNov 2017-05-07T11:16:23Z

Very fun game! I got 99 ants and a gold medal hehe

Love the sound effects and music (is that you playing a kazoo??), the art style fits the game, and the gameplay is quite unique. I think the right half of the screen could be utilised more, because you'll always end up only grabbing the item closest to the hole. I think it would also be nice to have a 'drop item' button in case you accidentally pick up the wrong item or pick it up from a terrible angle. Also for visual clarity, maybe every 10 ants could be replaced with one 'stronger' different colour / bigger ant?

Really well done

Cardboard Cats Online by Ilseroth 2017-05-01T02:43:41Z

Downloaded it, then found the server was offline haha.. Anyway, the screenshots look nice!

Did you make this using Unity + PUN?

A Small World Cup by rujo 2017-05-08T15:15:10Z

Super fun and amusing game! It would be great if I could click past the 'GOAL' text and get straight back into the game. I would also love to see multiplayer and sound effects in future versions (if you plan on that)!

Great job!

Gaia by PowerSpark 2017-05-01T04:54:26Z

Dude, very impressive, especially for 48 hours! Instructions are super helpful and well-integrated. Cloud controls were confusing and wasn't a fan of the barriers on the sides of the world. Graphics are spot-on and sound fits well!

Good job!

Carefulzilla by glimaleite 2017-05-08T14:15:06Z

I really like the concept of this game! Great fit to the theme, innovative, and quite amusing. Though I think you could've found less annoying music (even though you opted-out) :P Also, I often ended up with the left foot out of camera range so it was a struggle to lift it correctly, so that could be something to fix. The graphics fit well and I liked how you made the speech bubbles at the start too :)

Great job, especially for only 48 hours!!

Fancy meeting you here by Local Minimum 2017-04-28T15:47:29Z

I'm not really sure how to play the minigames! I tried pressing the letters as they came up (the most intuitive thing to me) but nothing seemed to happen lol.

The concept is a strong match with the theme, the graphics are genuinely scary (good job), and the speaking sound effects work well (although they sometimes conflict each other in quite a loud way).

If you let me know how the minigames work I'll give it another shot:)

Also, if you have time, check out my game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/no-minor-task-party-of-a-lifetime

Really like how this game makes you think, with a nice twist at the end!

Self Replicating Bots. Escape From The Known World by liquidmedia 2017-04-28T15:57:22Z

Hey I tried the game! I enjoyed the music and the controls were very fluid! The game took a while to load (it probably shouldn't given that there weren't too many assets in there). I couldn't seem to find any way to win (I guess there isn't?) but it was fun to run away from them for a bit. I especially liked jumping over their heads.

Sprint is infinite so there isn't much reason to not just sprint the entire time (I think it should be on cooldown). The enemies looked clear and distinctive.

A nice effort. I would definitely make sure to have a way to win (or get points) next time!

If you have time, please do check out my game as well! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/no-minor-task-party-of-a-lifetime

Little House of Horrors by Archimagus 2017-05-03T03:06:50Z

Hey guys! Let me just start by saying that this is my favourite game thus far for mood by a long shot. The music and SFX work amazingly well, and I like the lighting and visuals too (not sure why I'm a chess piece though, maybe would make more sense if I were one of the characters I selected? could be a time constraint thing though haha). The menus were great too, and I appreciate all the options you included. Gameplay wise, I had fun. Honestly though, I had no idea what I was doing. I just clicked the green feet and clicked the eye, and repeated that continuously until I won. :joy: Also I didn't know what the stats on my character represented or why it made a difference. Maybe it could be clearer what the objective is, and then add a bit more challenge?

Overall, fantastic job!

Starstruck Ducky by HuvaaKoodia 2017-05-04T12:49:54Z

Woooo I managed to beat it :)

I really like how original this idea is. And the ducks are really cute! There could be more diversity in dialog (I heard the toast line a lot of times) and it could have benefited from some music. Overall, well done

Anthill Multitask by Asturk 2017-05-16T14:47:19Z

Very innovative gameplay, and a lot of fun! And great introduction of gameplay through tutorials! The screen was actually too big for my browser, so definitely consider a fullscreen option in future (I also needed it too haha..) :)

Great job!

Icarus Isolation by King Kujito 2017-04-28T16:30:18Z

Hey man! The game looks amazing but I can't get it to run on Mac. When I try to run it after unzipping it says:

*The application “IcarusIsolation” can’t be opened.*

Icarus Isolation by King Kujito 2017-05-01T02:34:02Z

Found a solution to the Mac problem. This worked for me: https://superuser.com/questions/898124/the-application-someapp-app-can-t-be-opened

Icarus Isolation by King Kujito 2017-05-01T02:42:15Z

Ok I finally played it! Graphics (although the flare is sometimes too much because it gets really bright) and music/SFX are nice. The camera and controls kinda ruin it for me. I try flying and then seem not to be moving towards any of the distant islands at all, and if you press E whilst in the air it completely stuffs up your camera so you have no idea where you are or which way you're facing. Would be nice to have more intuitive controls (control the camera with the mouse, fly with space, and use WASD to move). Also my preference would be to have the cursor not visible on the screen because it detracts a bit from the (very nice) atmosphere! Hopefully this feedback was helpful to you:)

Best of luck if you keep working on it!

Planet Desumaton by SiegfriedCroes 2017-05-01T16:02:18Z

LOVE the graphics. Nice mechanic too (though a bit tricky to control), and a unique interpretation of the theme (playing AS the world). Really would've liked to have seen a health bar for the player, maybe multiple enemies (or a boss that wasn't so hard to kill) and sound could have really added to the game (I can imagine an awesome 8-bit arcadey space soundtrack).

Anyway, nice job!

If you have time, please check out my game too ^_^ https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/no-minor-task-party-of-a-lifetime

It's A Small World And It's Gonna Get Smaller by npizzle1 2017-05-02T13:32:11Z

Nice little game! My game actually crashed haha... (I abducted like 20? and then put them into the silo, and then a bazillion tanks appeared and fired and froze the whole thing) I liked the sound effects! For some reason the music randomly cut off and stopped playing, which left it a bit empty. Also I think the game is a bit exploitable in the sense that you can just keep abducting infinitely, and then place them all into the silo at once and get heaps and heaps of points, and the tanks only appear afterwards.

Anyway, a lot of fun (until it froze), and a unique, well-executed idea. Good job! :)

Please do check out my game as well if you have time! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/no-minor-task-party-of-a-lifetime

It's a Small World, So Let's Crash It into Things by simonhutchinson 2017-05-02T14:01:50Z

(playing from WebGL version) Loved this game, it was heaps of fun! Really nice atmosphere that you set with the graphics + music, and the graphics are impressive. And the music + voice when the dark star appears (/the sigh when you get away) - really cool! I would suggest a less jumpy camera. Also, if you could make WASD controls work as well that would be a great addition imo! And maybe the dark star could run away from you instead when you're big enough to eat it?

Fantastic job

Until Tomorrow by MSiddeek 2017-05-03T13:48:06Z

Wow, I can't believe you finished this in 72 hours! Such fleshed-out storytelling, atmosphere, character movements, even a nice little puzzle section. Well done!

Space Migrator by jackyjjc 2017-05-01T13:44:44Z

Nice little game, cool concept. Wish the camera could have been further out - made it way too hard to stack! Could have benefited from some music too (even if you opted-out).

Anyway, good job :)

Space Migrator by jackyjjc 2017-05-01T16:22:34Z

@jackyjjc well for my game, I found my sound guys through Reddit, and the music they made was AMAZING. And there's no shortage of supply either (we had 3 on our team). So my tip for next time would just be to make a post on Reddit saying you're looking for a composer! Or if you're planning just to do compo (i.e. not teaming with a sound person) you could also just find some free royalty-free tracks online!

For A Small World This Place Sure Has Big Problems by johnfn 2017-05-04T13:37:09Z

Hey John! I really like the humor, audio, and graphics of your game! Totally my style hahaha

Loved how it said 'what the heck am I doing on the professor's roof?' when I tried to explore up there  And the dialog was really nice and I liked how you could keep going through it whilst walking. The effect of shrinking when you got near the globe was also really cool. Also, did you write the music? I love it, it's really quirky and suits the game well.

I did stop playing once I got to the part with throwing the globe, because it was quite tricky to aim it, and maybe I was directionless but it seemed to indicate that I had to throw it up all of those platforms? Got a bit confused at that point and seemed way too impossible to throw it up all those platforms haha.

Anyway, awesome job:)

Check out my half-visual novel half-chaotic-arcadey game too! I think you'll like the humor

Pixel Town by automatonvx 2017-05-01T14:12:22Z

Beat both scenarios; super fun game (if a bit easy)! Probably the most fun thus far out of the Ludum Dare games I've tried :) Music is really nice too, and the art style works well. I would lower the sound effects on killing monsters (its really loud compared to the music and the sound sometimes stacks and gets super loud) / have options to lower the SFX / music (you probably would have if you had more time). Also having the cost of buildings shown when you click them would be cool.

Anyway: amazing work, well done!

Can't play it because I'm on my Mac, but I look forward to the documentary :) Huge fan!

Super Collapse Guy by crazi456 2017-05-01T14:28:05Z

This mechanic is really innovative and well-executed! Also the character model is really cute, and that box art is sweeeet (did you make it?)

Took me a while to realise I could rotate the camera in the first level, and I wasn't able to get past the 2nd level (you probably fixed in the post-jam version). Anyway, I think this game has a lot of potential, and it would be cool to see a full version!

PogoPogo by obvious-san 2017-05-04T16:57:31Z

Didn't know really how the score worked and the beer sound was a bit loud but it didn't really matter to me because THIS WAS SUCH A COOL EXPERIENCE! The music (did you really write it just for this??), the graphics/presentation/polish, and the idea (especially the crowdsurfing) are all amazing! Congrats

Bugyard by rilem 2017-05-08T15:01:00Z

Hi! I really like your game! The art style is amazing (love those flowers that move with you), the music and sound effects were really cute, and I like the little world and characters you created. Reminds me of a more colourful Cave Story! One thing that I thought could be improved were the controls. Using D for jump and F for shoot is really unintuitive (at least for me). I kept pressing the up arrow trying to jump and then kept accidentally talking to the same character over and over, or accidentally going through a door (up arrow is also used to climb vines and look up, so I think to many actions are on this one button). I think a simple fix would be having the down arrow as the 'interact/talk' button (like https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Cave_Story/Controls). Also, shooting was a bit tricky, due to the combo of a short range, low projectile speed, curving bullet arc, and little space to maneuver (mainly this). And last thing :P I think in the opening room, it would be cool if the controls were shown in-game against the wall (it took me a while to work out the button to jump and get out of the room).

Little complaints aside, this is really, really impressive. Great work

slovenly shopper by jelch 2017-05-04T14:58:51Z

I love the idea of a turn-based stealth game. You executed it very well and you matched it well to the theme (similar to my interpretation of it)! The audio is nice too:)

Like @simple-blue said, the tutorial was a nice touch too.

Great job

Super Snowman Spider Showdown Supreme by TheClintHennesy 2017-05-02T16:11:21Z

Hey guys I tried your game! I LOVE the visuals/graphics/art, and the menus are really fluid and well-made. Nice splash screens too!

Here are the key things I personally think would be worth improving: - I think the controls and camera could be improved upon - rotating seems inconsistent and its hard to see where you're aiming with the crosshairs (mainly due to the low camera angle), especially when the enemies are right next to you - The music kinda got annoying because it was the same 4-second melody looping continuously. It had the right elements but it really should be at least a minute long before repeating (otherwise just use a royalty-free Christmas track) :) - I reckon reduce the delay on the attacks so it feels more responsive. I really wanted to shoot instantly and shoot more often, but there was a delay that made it feel a bit slow.

Hope you found this feedback helpful (definitely not trying to be mean or anything haha), and overall a good effort! I commend the personality and vibe of the game, and I think it could be something really fun with a bit more tweaking

Exit.. space left by HomineLudens 2017-05-01T08:08:20Z

Hey I tried the game! I like the atmosphere (the music helps). Initially I didn't know how to collect gems but I worked it out. I think the gravity/movement speed is a bit high both upwards and downwards, which made it a bit frustrating to collect the gems. A bit of a weird thing to take notice of: intuitively I kept pressing SPACE to jump, but that's not actually the jump key; however, it does make the page scroll down to the bottom and made me fail a couple of times (not sure how to fix this but thought it was worth mentioning). The graphics fit well.

Good job:)

If you get time, please check out our game as well! :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/no-minor-task-party-of-a-lifetime

Recursive nightmare by Toulou 2017-05-06T18:08:41Z

Hey man! I love this game, it has a really creative spin on choice-based adventure games, and the dialog and hand-drawn art is very amusing. Good job :)

Mind's Eye by Kosmo 2017-05-01T05:16:43Z

Hey man, this was the most fun I've had thus far on a Ludum Dare game, so congrats!

I got time played: 846s, level obtained: 9, basic dudes killed: 25, armored fellas killed: 8, spinny guys killed: 4

Love the concept, and the gameplay is quite innovative too. Well done!

This World Of Mine by Wizcas 2017-05-01T15:23:32Z

I love the cute graphics and the super funny concept (I lol'd at the intro), and that one bit of audio (the 'roar' lol). The game itself was a bit hard to play (at least initially) - I felt like I didn't really have control over the cat, and some areas were hard to click on (like the hideout) or access (like the top shelf - you could only jump up to it from the left side). Also it seemed a bit random whether you would be spotted or not (sometimes I'm directly in front of him / or bump right into him but nothing happens). But I was quite impressed with the animations (I guess this is why click controls were needed), and I did eventually get used to the controls and gameplay.

Overall, really good effort, especially since you did it all by yourself and it was your first game jam!

Btw don't forget to go back and rate my game!

Wood Womb by sheep42 2017-04-28T15:33:54Z

I couldn't get it to run for some reason (just a grey screen and the Unity WebGL border). I'm on a Mac using Firefox.

"It's a small world!" by szczebel1995 2017-05-01T04:46:37Z

Very funny, love the concept and cute animations/sound. Unfortunately I couldn't actually get anywhere in the game! Movement was very fluid. Controls for getting the angel's attention didn't seem to be working / was very tricky (and everyone was too crowded together).

Anyway, nice little game:)

Suds of War by James Dunlap 2017-05-01T05:56:39Z

Hey I played your game! I really like the concept and the cute graphics (although it looks better on the main menu). The music totally works too haha. Was a bit confused as to why the enemy base was a sponge(?) and the attacks look like they only fire one square when they actually fire two, also it would be nice to see which boat I've selected in the list on the left, but these are only minor quabbles (and you probably would've been resolved with a bit more time anyway).

Nice game, congrats! :)

Btw, did you manage to finish my game?

Paper Jam! by danhett 2017-05-01T07:57:18Z

Probably my fav for graphics so far! Good responsive controls and decent audio. I agree with the hitboxes thing (and would like it if you reduced the respawn timer to be instantaneous after a key press), but a fun game overall and a great concept! :)

The Epic Quest For The Mighty Croissant by 0x0 2017-05-04T17:21:45Z

Nice game! I love how it cycles through each of the classical music tracks (did you arrange them yourselves?) that fit the style of each level. I also like the graphics and lighting!! I would prefer not walking through every world again after I died, and the combat was really just spamming the enemy with right click, but the animations were good. Also the game crashed on me after I collected the mighty croissant  The transitions between scenes were really cool!

Good job

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-04-28T17:13:54Z

Thanks for all the feedback guys:) Funny story: this is actually the 'easier' version :P The original version required you to collect 250 kids, and the enemies caught you a lot quicker (no one beat it except me).

**Pro Tip:** chain together the collecting (which itself recovers your stamina) and make heavy use of sprinting as you run between bushes (which hide you from the adults) ;)

And yup, with more time I would have divided up the levels to be smaller and less chaotic, with progressive difficulty!

@ilseroth Thanks for playing, hopefully you enjoyed it anyway (and all scenes are skippable with ESC)!

Settings for volume etc. are definitely a good idea, and definitely would've been included with a bit more time :)

And yes, there are audio cues for when you're being detected!

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-05-01T04:34:53Z

@kosmo - your home is in the top right corner! If you want to skip it and see the outro, just press ESC until you get to the gameplay, and P to skip the level!

@jeremy-ryan definitely would have added more levels (smaller and more strategic too) if we had the time (and if our 2nd programmer didn't drop out haha). thanks for playing!

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-05-01T16:56:57Z

@local-minimum Thanks for playing! All those things were planned from the beginning (shorter, more strategic level design, introducing characters one by one with shorter cutscenes between 5 levels of progressing difficulty - Monday to Friday), but I simply ran out of time (especially because our 2nd programmer didn't turn up). Nonetheless, hopefully you still had fun!

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-05-01T17:15:39Z

@rahtainka Ahhh I guess no one is seeing the parts in bold I put above at the top of the game description haha :P The house is in the top-right corner! If you wanna see the ending scene, just skip to the gameplay by pressing ESC, and skip the level by pressing 'P'.

Thanks for taking the time to play! :)

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-05-02T16:20:39Z

@theclinthennesy Thanks for playing! :) Regarding any lag, I *think* it might just be your browser, because the game is quite small in size and I've never experienced any slowdown (that being said, I wasn't exactly trying to optimize my code for efficiency haha).

Actually 250 was the initial target, but everyone found it too hard (i.e. only I could beat it), so a teammate suggested we reduce it to 200 and that stuck :P (I also reduced the difficulty in other parts, but people are still finding it hard )

The original vision for it didn't even involve the collecting part - it was gonna be smaller more puzzle/stealth-based levels with enemy types introduced one-by-one over 5 levels (Monday to Friday). We were running out of time so I reworked to be one big level with a bigger (but still achievable) objective, and added in the player collectables ('invitables')

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-05-09T14:11:56Z

@takusan Thank you for that comprehensive feedback:) Definitely some good points there. RE: performance, honestly not sure what could be causing that, might be partially an itch.io thing, or maybe your computer (because only a couple people had this issue), because the game is only 20MB and we allocated like 256MB of memory to it with WebGL. But if you or anyone else has any ideas regarding why such a small game could be having these problems, definitely let me know! Was this a slowdown in loading the game, or just in the gameplay section?

@poffle Our sound guys will be very happy to hear that :P The bass was recorded live because one of our guys is a jazz musician hahah.

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-05-09T14:12:23Z

Great to hear that you're pursuing this game further:) the graphics and audio are fantastic, it's a lot of fun, and the controls are simple but work very effectively (and perfect for the mobile space which I hear you're pursuing?)

Great job

I got a score of 14,226! This game is lots of fun :) A bit tricky to kill the cookie monsters. Nice sound effects! Would love some appropriate music in here too if you keep working on it. Very entertaining concept  nice work!

ZEUS VS MOLES by Fouralex 2017-05-01T08:21:17Z

Hey I played your game! I love the art style and humour. Couldn't work out how to kill the moles though. I kept clicking near and around them and it had the attack animation and blood, but it seems like all was happening was I was losing health and I just kept dying without killing a single one. Maybe it's something I'm missing...

Nice job anyway:)

[BOXAVERSE] by Fran Segura 2017-04-26T16:48:48Z

I think there might be a bug or something. I eventually worked out how to cut down the trees, but then it won't let me do anything else. I tried to interact with that campfire thing in all ways possible but nothing happened.

Ahh that's clever! I like the art style and humour of this game, I guess I'm just not very good at it because I couldn't find a way past the next level (all I could work out how to do was get water). Also, maybe it's just me but it seems weird how specific actions are tied to specific people even though they're only distinguished by their age or gender (maybe instead they could give hints aesthetically as to what they are best at).

Diminishing Lands by drazil100 2017-05-01T06:14:35Z

Dude, really nice game! Graphics are cute, sound fits well, most importantly the concept is pretty unique! It becomes a nice strategy to anticipate the next platform to jump on. I also really liked that you implemented wall-grabbing/sliding. Personally, I would have liked it if it was easier to jump up a single vertical surface (like Super Meat Boy) instead of jumping all the way out and then having to slowly curve back in (if you get what I'm saying) - without this, I found it quite hard to gain back verticality. Also near the end (or maybe it was the whole time?) the platforms shifted too often and there was a lot of empty space so I didn't really have anywhere to jump too. I never made it to level 2 so I don't know how that was different.

Nevertheless, quite an impressive game! Good job :)

Hey! I tried playing the Mac version but it didn't work (seems to just crash instantly but with no error message).

Soleil by JoyFired 2017-05-01T05:39:05Z

I like moving around the world - it feels very fluid. The controls are a bit finnicky for the platforming and its quite easy to move forward and fall off right when you're about to jump. Music is ambient and fits well and I like the sky background.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice game:) I was only able to play single player but I could see how this would be fun!

Music and SFX were cool (the robot voice hahah), and graphics fit well. Controls very smooth. Stun sound a bit loud.

I did forget the controls once it started and had to refresh the whole game, but I'm sure you would have had a menu page and all that with a bit more time.

Good effort:)

SkyWays by Steerschips 2017-05-02T14:35:19Z

Hey I tried your game! Good effort for 48 hours! There are a few things I would suggest improving on: - audio. especially for a space game like this, music is a must. Understandably it was compo so you probably didn't have time to compose your own, but even taking royalty-free tracks from the internet would have added to the experience! (btw, you should probably opt-out of this category! and maybe opt-out of humour too?) - controls. felt very hard to get control of the space ship, both in the 'world exploring' mode (where I would seem to mostly just spin in circles, and also I didn't know where I was going) and the platforming mode (really unforgiving! except it felt like the game's fault not mine). Changing speed with W and S rather than just moving forward normally is an interesting idea, but makes it a bit too random for platforming imo (especially for the yellow world) - lighting - I could hardly see anything it was so dark! Definitely brighten it up, especially colours like dark blue :)

Also I would recommend using a game hosting site like itch.io or gamejolt rather than Google Drive as it makes your game more accessible to others and more presentable!

Hopefully this feedback was helpful and hope you don't take it too harshly (it's a learning experience after all)! I respect anyone who competes in compo because you only get 48 hours and have to do it all by yourself.

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-05-01T05:30:44Z

Very nice game! Unique concept, cute graphics, well-designed menus and controls. Only complaint is once keys start falling out you lose almost instantly (simple fix could just be repair rate being higher? although this is just my opinion).

Really well done!

Hey guys! I tried your game.

I think you might need to try playtesting it because I think the game is currently broken. I can't shoot and I just die straight away. Also whenever I click, a giant white box appears over my ship (probably an issue with transparency in your image), so I have no idea what's happening.

The music is cool, I think it should be on by default (although it might be copyright because it's based on the Disney 'It's a Small World' song). Also, I think the firework sounds are a bit too loud and annoying on repeat on the mainscreen - maybe make them softer?

If you fix up the bugs let me know and I'll try again!

Race against ferrum gigantes by JScotty 2017-05-16T13:18:46Z

Game looks fantastic, and I love the simple idea and execution, and its radio system. Would love to see this expanded upon post-LD  Good job!

Daily Routine: the smallest worlds are the ones we get stuck in by Samurai Spark 2017-05-17T14:51:46Z

Hey guys! Really nice game - great graphics and message. I really wish there was music, it could have really added to the game, and the clicking minigames themselves weren't that fun (but I think that was kinda the point because I realised that you weren't supposed to keep playing them over and over haha). I'm glad I didn't quit after the first couple of days (I was tempted to), because the message was great and the path to win was very creative:) Good job!

FUEL by KCreanor 2017-05-01T15:00:21Z

Nice game!

I really like the race-against-time maze gameplay, its quite unique (and gets quite intense :P). Took me a while (not too long) to realise that moving the mouse further away made you go faster, and the music kinda got annoying haha, but the UI and graphics were really smooth, and I like the simple controls. If you make future levels, maybe there could be powerups and stuff!

And this was for compo no less! Well done!

Btw, don't forget to go back and rate my game haha

WHAT A SMALL WORLD! by ilikescifi 2017-05-08T15:44:21Z

Short but sweet :) Nice music, sound effects, graphics (the player animations are particularly cute), and dialog/story, with an amusing ending! The collision was a bit buggy (where you shake whenever you walk into something), but I'm sure you know that. Walkthrough video was also appreciated!

Well done

The Nedludd Club by zaibakk 2017-05-02T14:22:04Z

Hey guys! I tried downloading the game (the Mac version), but it was really really slow to download and never finished (even though it was only 40MB). Have you considered hosting on sites like itch.io or gamejolt instead? Compared to Dropbox, I think it might make it more presentable, future-proof, and probably speeds up the downloads :) Anyway I like the graphics!

I agree with what the others are saying about the controls being a bit confusing initially (I thought I was controlling the turret) - maybe there should be some feedback when you click? It was also a little bit difficult (always make game jams on the easier side is what I've learnt haha).

But this game was still really fun and has so much potential! I really really like how its bringing all these different genres together in a unique way. The sound and visual design is also fantastic. I hope you continue work on this and bring it to mobile devices! :D

Dude, this game was awesome! I found it through itch.io :)

The entire concept is super original and humorous, and the gameplay and music are intense! Love the art style too, and the way you click through the intro at the start.

Very impressive, especially since you made it by yourself and it was for compo!

Looking forward to playing this one!

The Electrician by Catoto 2017-08-04T06:33:35Z

Cool pixel art, and from the video it looks like quite a fun game! I especially like how it's a trade-off between speed and power, and how it's like an infinite runner crossed with those 'click red or blue' mobile games :) Plus, you're literally running and running out of power :P
