@Tommyflower, Thanks! means a lot to us!
Leuk spelletje dit!
Great game! I loved the theme and the vibe.
Very intense! The Menu page should have music in case of changing the volume in the Options. Final Score: 2198
@DGSpitzer Thank you for the great feedback! We will keep in mind to add music to the menu in future ludum dare projects!
And very nice score you have there! My personal highscore is 1551! :P
Nice art!
My highscore so far:

Try to beat me!
I really like your take on the theme, the only thing I would have liked is some more feedback when the robots crush you, that needs to feel more devastating.
Hey man! Played your game out!
I would say overall- it was pretty enjoyable. :D Switching music and diving. I love how I could make skid marks with my car when I swurved around. Hahaha.
IF there's anything I might be imagining it's lacking- it would be some sort of motive to last. While I was playing- I ended up getting to around 4k points- and I wasn't exactly sure how I was gonna lose. I'm not sure if the game gets harder- but it did feel a bit spontaneously underachieving as time went by. I felt like I had to get somewhere or could feel like the game gets harder- if you know what I mean. IT wasn't explicitly difficult to survive. Haha. So maybe that's why. xD
Still though. It was enjoyable and the music makes it super memorable. :D
Agreed with Samurai! The hit box seems pretty large as well when it comes to the giants but man does it look sweet when you drive right past one in top speed. I would say, working on clarity of where they are stomping, the colliders on the buildings (I got stuck a few times) But still fun, nice work on the driving as well!
@Samurai-spark that is one hell of a score! amazing!! I will definitely take your feedback with me for further projects!
@theclinthennesy thank you for your great feedback! The game was suppose to get harder on time base. But I had not enough time to balance the spawning out. So we decided to have a standard amount of 16 robots around the planet. This was for us the perfect amount for a 'normal' mode and we could still submit our first ludum-dare project . After all I could make the robots a bit faster over time. But I think that is what a game jam is all about. To learn and make progression!:innocent:
I am glad you two liked it.
You don't need to ask twice if i want to race against enourmous robots!
I quickly found out that they are not really friendly. The concept is clear and the controls are good (except when you hit a wall, but i can see that this is intentional - mistakes are punished). I love that you included different radio stations! I guess the game could be harder - i could just stay on the "main lane" and drive past the guys. The music and graphics were good, i really like the small-world feel. Only the sound effects were a bit annoying, i mean the tyre screech and the engine.
Good job on the game! The wallpaper rocks too :)
This is a pretty interesting game. I'm bad at it, but I still had fun.
My biggest issue is that it felt like a number of times the giants stomped in a direction I had already passed, but since the game had already figured out the collisions I was dead anyway.
The game looks gorgeous, the music is awesome. Your team did a great job! Keep up the great work!
Wow, this game is very good!
First off, I really like your UI (as a guy who cannot design one himself). The music is great, although I feel you never live long enough to listen to a song. Animations and models were good.
My main problem with this game are the car controls. The acceleration and deceleration were too quick and felt very unnatural.
Another simple UX pointer: When I want to restart I have to grab my mouse to click on the button to start again. A keyboard key (like enter) would have made this easier.
All in all a good game, especially for the first time.
PS: +1 for NL
Thoses robots are merciless ! I liked the style of the game, but it needed more "juice" to really feel fun ! Like post-fx or particles (but it could also be too much...)
Overall, the game is easy to understand (I consider it like Pacman on a roadtrip against robots), and while the music is nice, the sounds effects tends to be repetitive and annoying for the car, and the robots felt lifeless (I would've loved to hear them crush my car... I know, kinda weird)
There is also a style in colors and modeling (I really like your poster) but it lacks a few color, or a more diverse palette (something more than blue and red and what's in between).
But, I'm just picky. This is a nice game ! Well done !
Incredible that this was done in 3 days! Very cool art!
Nice polish(especially UI) though gameplay somewhat dull.
I played 10 times but my best score is only 500. Very nice colos and lights, city and robots create a very impressive athmosphere. You really fell in another planet. A motivation to stay alive was to listen all the song, I never could :D IA was not stupid
GTA + Megas XLR + Iron Giant
*****
+ The GTA feels and radio (what? you want more than that!?). + Put the radio at some funk, wait for the robots to kill you, watch them dancing around your body. + Innovative, not another "Little Prince planet" game.
*****
+ Terrain collision boxes are unforgiving. + Car turning speed too slow. + Controls feel weird (specially the camera). + Giants area of effect are too large.
*****
+ Add an auto-camera option, it faces the speed vector of car (when it is moving: speed >= LIMIT). + Well, I don't know. Maybe use Photon Cloud and make it multiplayer with assymetric gameplay being player 1 the car and the other players the giants?
*****
Highscore: 4033
Thanks to you all for your great feed back! It is really cool to see what for highscore everyone has! I will definitely put some online highscore in my future ludum dare projects!
This really means a lot to us!
This certainly caught my attention when it looked like I was trying to avoid being smooshed by the robot from Iron Giant. That said the racing/driving controls in this game performed pretty well. Im used to having to struggle with driving controls in early versions of games but this was real smooth. So nice job on that.
Otherwise it was basic yet pretty enjoyable with the music. Just cruise around and avoid getting stomped on or crashing. Pretty simple.
The one thing I did want to mention was that I think this would be a fantastic concept for an open world endless driving game. Where you can drive in any direction and they all eventually lead you to a nice place. The longer you drive. Which would allow you to introduce people to different environments full of other sci fi stuff. Like a farmland full of UFOs that want to abduct you with the gravity beam while in the background the others are busy abducting alien cows. Which is a great incentive to get people to WANT to drive further and further for more than just a score on the screen or a tacky prize like Crossy Road game.
So basic but a solid foundation. Nice work and the game was also featured in Episode 4 of my Larry Does Ludum 38 series.

Wouw thanks a lot @larrychupacabra ! this is absolutely amazing!!
Thanks a lot!
The biggest flaw are the hitboxes, it's extremely easy to clip into everything, including thin air! Also, there is no way to win... I think it would be more enjoyable that there was one, maybe a couple of truly safe spots that you could eventually find, if you survived and explored enough! (Hinted by small/subtle graphic elements, like the faint light there is between buildings in some places). Nice graphics/colors, and great, great music! It was enjoyable just to drive around in the car listening to it, GTA style.
Note: Scores are extremely difficult to pull of in this day and age (unless you are Flappy Bird), and are very prompt to become meaningless/void/banal, so generally I think they are better not to be used at all.
Game looks fantastic, and I love the simple idea and execution, and its radio system. Would love to see this expanded upon post-LD  Good job!
Feel free to try my game too if you have time! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/no-minor-task-party-of-a-lifetime
Neat world! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwLATN0OA3Y
