I really enjoyed this game. Got about 124 ants before dying. Great job!

jandourek 2017-04-24 06:28

Very nice game! I really like the music and sounds. It's very fun!

m-1 2017-04-26 20:55

Great relaxing game, especially the SFX is perfect!

I managed to get just 123 ants.

jamgrrl 2017-04-28 23:34

Cute little ant hill game. Gather twigs to grow the population, gather food to feed the population, until the population is too big to support it and your grand plan at exponential growth comes crashing to a halt and everyone dies. Just like life!

Fun music and sound effects, too.

morbidcamel101 2017-04-30 12:22

Hey thanks for dropping by my channel! - this was very cool I liked how you increase the population and the food dynamic is definitely a cool idea. On the tutorial you spawn the food on the side and it was hard to see it. I also got stuck because I couldn't see my ants behind the anthill. Overall 8/10

A very simple but well put together game with amazing Kazoo soundtrack.

The art style is fitting the game and in combination with the soundtrack create a very cute atmosphere.

If I had only one remark, I would say that the game play is not very challenging, a bit too easy. I had to voluntary collect more ants and stop collecting food to end the game.

Overall, this is a quite nice experience and I advice you to try it :)

Good job!

(You can see me playing this game for the first time on the vod https://youtu.be/lXUmif8KKxM?t=5h3m52s )

I really like it! The controlls are a little bit strange for me. And i love the music and the sound!

tommyno222 2017-05-03 15:50

Really fun game, I've made a colony of 50 ants  Controls are similar to my [very first game](http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=preview&uid=7828) I've finished on Ludum Dare, so I'm highly skilled at this :grinning: Collisions between ants and the way they handle it is amazing, I was trying to get stuck between them, but I didn't succeed  Also, music was really pleasent to listen and sounds were funny.

One thing that I missed was visual progress. I hoped that the anthill would scale with increasing number of ants. And maybe a possibility to drop items on your way and take them later would be nice too.

Hello Standu! Loved it! Fun, great sounds and music. Me and my GF made record for about 130 or so, it was fun, and challenging. The only flaw was that sometimes it was a magic cirle, because you had to just run for food, to survive, and couldnt move forward to better score unless you did the same procedure 10x in a row. But overall one of my favourite entries! :)

madjackmcmad 2017-05-04 20:54

Fun game with pleasant sound effects, music, and solid controls. Moving around *behind* the objects to bring them in is a pro strat that helps you build up the hive faster. Enjoyed the back and forth cycle, of course would like to see more content but for 48 hours this is excellent work. Please keep it up, and don't make games about bees <3

zeriver 2017-05-06 20:36

Impressive for solo 48 hours, game feels polished and complete. Tutorial is short and explains game well. I also like sound effects, pretty funny and they match the mood of the game. Gameplay is simple but it's fun to balance ant population and food income. The only thing that could use some extra work are Graphics but they are pretty clear / easy to read and that's the most important thing.

mahalis 2017-05-07 02:37

Fun little simulation. I only managed to get to 56 - I think I didn't build up enough food storage before trying to increase my colony size. The music is really pleasant. Great work.

xavier-indie-gamedev 2017-05-07 11:16

Very fun game! I got 99 ants and a gold medal hehe

Love the sound effects and music (is that you playing a kazoo??), the art style fits the game, and the gameplay is quite unique. I think the right half of the screen could be utilised more, because you'll always end up only grabbing the item closest to the hole. I think it would also be nice to have a 'drop item' button in case you accidentally pick up the wrong item or pick it up from a terrible angle. Also for visual clarity, maybe every 10 ants could be replaced with one 'stronger' different colour / bigger ant?

Really well done

le-slo 2017-05-07 12:40

122 ants. There's a moment when you learn how ant colonies work. Always take the food from the other side, try to empty the spaces closer to you home for food spawning, save some food and reproduce once you have time to do it. It feels like there is like a possible difficult ending, where even taking the nearest food doesnt make you have more food, it's important to have the game not infinite. It was polished and the sound effect of eating was hilarious. Great job.

bemmu 2017-05-07 13:03

I absolutely loved this game, my favorite in the compo so far.

The sounds and music were especially good, and the main game mechanic was surprisingly fun.

valicitor 2017-05-07 13:17

Great game, I saw this being played on Twitch and it looked fun, playing it is just as fun. Controls could use with tightening unless your are going for that "hard to maneuver a group" feel. Graphics are good but there's room for improvement. Great Job

omiya-games 2017-05-08 08:46

That wasn't too bad for a game about simulating ants. Had a pretty cool Pikmin vibe to it. I do think the tank controls are a hindrance, and the objects blocking your path seemed rather unfair. The sound effects are adorable, though.

dejvo 2017-05-09 08:04

Pretty good game. the controlling of the ants was kindof weird, but it was OK. my final score was 47 ants. it became impossible after that to keep them fed. but overall good solid entry

veralos 2017-05-12 11:31

The graphics are nice and I really like the music and sound effects. It's cool how the ants cluster around the thing you're carrying. The gradual increase of ants provides an interesting progression as you need to get more food to feed more ants, but you also need more ants to get more food. I think it may have worked slightly better if the anthill was in the center of the screen with food/materials spawning around it. Currently there's little reason to go to the right of the screen since it takes so long. I also would have liked some way to drop things after picking them up. Overall though, it's quite a nice game.

pavel-kouril 2017-05-12 19:03

As someone who currently has an expertise with ant games, this was definitely a blast! Also, I LOVED the sounds.

The graphics are OK, and I really respect you managed to do this as a compo entry. Must have been a lots of work, especially since the game has even a tutorial and feels pretty complete alltogether.

Of course, doing some stuff like dropping a "better" food further away from ant hill would be nice, because now I just picked the stuff that was nearest. But as I said, a really good game.

"Ňam ňam ňam" FTW.

2017-05-12 19:20

It is a really well made game! Simple, fun and charming. I wish i could vote, but i will just leave this comment to say that i apreciate your work :)

igorsgames 2017-05-13 19:39

Got to 82 ants, good idea, was really relaxing after working, I liked the animations, the progressive difficulty, and the music reminded of the first LD game of yours! Cheers!

nofuel 2017-05-13 20:53

best backgroundmusic! Love it :D really cool game! I made it to 62 ants but it gets very hard at that point to collect enough food to keep the little colony alive. I had a lot of fun playing it! thanks!

drkr 2017-05-14 09:40

Pretty fun game, good job man, nice job with music and audio too.

th-alien 2017-05-14 14:26

WOW!!! that's a really nice entry! :D my girlfreind couldn't belive the ant voice wasn't my voice! haha so funny! btw, i loved the voice and (of course) this genre of game :) ants are so understimate, but you did justice to them! ;) nice job! :D

ragnta 2017-05-14 20:51

It's a great game, and finally I found an another ant game :)

mrjoshuamclean 2017-05-15 12:44

Lots of fun, with unique music and sound effects. Graphics are effective for the gameplay, which is nicely balanced. A solid mini-game. Definitely one of my favorites. :)

pascalman 2017-05-15 18:26

Very funny game! 132 ants my record. Good idea, art and sound.

I Played this on Livestream today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YtyZ8Rudok

Great design stuff going on, I'm gonna spend a lot of time after the jam playing with this one. Awesome job with the unfolding of the game as time moves on. The music! The music is absolutely spectacular! Great job, good show!

sgstair 2017-05-19 11:35

@stanov, thanks for stopping by my stream. This is a pretty neat game, I particularly liked the ant trail movement and the ants gathering around the items you were carrying back. It's a really neat idea and you put together a solid game with great & appropriate music and sfx. Nice job
