Moving felt a little awkward but this is exactly the kind of horror game that I love to play. You captured the atmosphere really well!

I liked the concept and enjoyed playing this, nice job!
We almost went in this direction with our game but decided against a dialog driven game as we were worried it might be difficult to pull off in such a short amount of time. I think you managed to pull it off very nicely. :)
I liked this game a lot, it had a good overall feel. Definitely had some nostalgia appeal. :) I really enjoyed how the little bit of plot made a simple Sokoban style game feel like there was some real purpose to playing.
I felt like the dialogue at the beginning was too slow, but I didn't want to skip it because I wanted to get the plot, speeding that up a bit or letting the player complete it by pressing enter or something could greatly improve that experience.
One more (kind of nit-picky) complaint, the music almost looped seamlessly but there's a noticeable restart point and, after hearing it couple of times, it only became more noticeable but it wasn't bad enough to ruin my whole experience.
This game is so cool! I can't believe nobody has commented here yet!
My only real complaint is that I thought it was a little weird having to move the tile from an existing spot and move it back again when trying to add together tiles multiple times.
This is an awesome LD entry and with a little polish and some more world tiles. I could see myself playing this on my phone regularly.
This was a great mini RPG experience! I second the comment about the atmosphere, very well done!
I like almost everything about this game, the music was great, the art was great, the overall aesthetic was great. The tiny ball was hard to find at first but after finding it I had no more trouble seeing where I was. I couldn't make it past the bridge but all in all a fun experience.
@xavier-indie-gamedev, I'm sorry to hear that! I will look into it, I did have some memory issues upon launching. The game isn't exactly...optimized
I did notice a bug on my friend's Mac where the game took a bit longer than usual to start up, but it's tough for me to troubleshoot as I don't have a Mac lying around to test with.
@darknesszx Thanks! Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback. :)
The crash sound happens every time an object hits the floor or a wall and it's a little overboard but we felt like having it make a lot of noise fit the feel of the game better than not having it make enough sound.
To be honest we wanted to have the owner do more at the end of the game but we were trying to have this submitted by Monday night and we ran out of time and settled on the ending you saw. :)
@elzach Thanks for playing
Not sure why the jump broke for you, but I appreciate the feedback. We had a number of problems right before submission and I wouldn't be surprised if some bugs with my layers for ground detection got past us. If I can replicate it and fix it I will post an update. Glad you had a good time anyway! :)
@mmason Thanks! I'm gonna give your game a shoutout here too because it was probably one of my favorites that I played today and I ended up downloading it from the Play store after I left my comment. So to anyone else reading this check out their game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/bureaucratic-deity-simulator-2018
I'll definitely rate you guys when voting is open :)
@firewill lol, you are the first person that I know of to be launched outside of the wall colliders! Thanks for the great feedback, I'm pretty sure the no jump bug has to do with some objects not having the proper layers assigned but I've yet to find the culprits.
The original concept for the game was less slapstick and during development it evolved more into what you played, but we decided to stick with the name idea as it provided some initial inspiration to the small plot that we had. Hopefully it didn't hurt your overall experience too much!
@danbolt Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed yourself! :)
@pschichtel Thanks for the feedback! There actually is music, but there was a bug with my soundmanager script where the music would die if you clicked off of the browser window. I've since fixed that bug, but sorry for the diminished initial experience!
@earthcollapse You are in luck if you want to try again, I believe I have actually fixed the jump bug! Either way thanks for playing. :)
This was a fun game and the dialog was well thought out and amusing. I also really enjoyed the art and music.
I would agree with limejuice123 it took a couple of tries before I got the hang of avoiding the adults.
Nice job on the music and the overall aesthetic. I liked the pink dudes hanging out in the levels they definitely added to the weirdness in a good way. Good job!
I enjoyed this, I really liked the art. :) There are not nearly enough games dealing with gentrification! You scored extra points with me since it's a thing that has affected me directly in the past and we've been working on a larger game project about it.
I am really glad I took the time to finish this, I really enjoyed this game a lot. Reminds me of something Molleindustria would put out. Very well done!
Nice idea, I could see this being an addicting mobile game! I wish there was some music though.
Good job :)
I definitely like playing this a lot! The mechanics made sense for me and I played for a bit, but I would agree that there should be some kind of difficulty curve to keep it interesting. The only other thing that stuck out to me was that the music loop felt a little bit too short and quickly became repetitive.
