I couldn't get it to run for some reason (just a grey screen and the Unity WebGL border). I'm on a Mac using Firefox.

sheep42 2017-04-28 16:00

@xavier-indie-gamedev, I'm sorry to hear that! I will look into it, I did have some memory issues upon launching. The game isn't exactly...optimized

I did notice a bug on my friend's Mac where the game took a bit longer than usual to start up, but it's tough for me to troubleshoot as I don't have a Mac lying around to test with.

darknesszx 2017-04-28 19:31

The game was fun. I like that idea a lot (cause I like cat) go roaming and destroy everything lol. The music was fun especially the credit song :D

The control at first seem a little off for me but when I know the objective of the game it was funny. The cat always jump in bed look hilarious.

But the crash sound sometimes still occurred when nothing moving or sometimes it's only a small crash it was too big.

I was hoping to see the owner do something with the cat when the game end :D

sheep42 2017-04-28 20:27

@darknesszx Thanks! Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback. :)

The crash sound happens every time an object hits the floor or a wall and it's a little overboard but we felt like having it make a lot of noise fit the feel of the game better than not having it make enough sound.

To be honest we wanted to have the owner do more at the end of the game but we were trying to have this submitted by Monday night and we ran out of time and settled on the ending you saw. :)

elzach 2017-04-28 21:44

Midgame the jump stopped working, I didn't really know what I was doing or if I would be a dead or alive cat in the end, but I still enjoyed my time.

The visuals were nice and that credits song was just the perfect score for that weird little title.

cheers~

sheep42 2017-04-28 22:02

@elzach Thanks for playing

Not sure why the jump broke for you, but I appreciate the feedback. We had a number of problems right before submission and I wouldn't be surprised if some bugs with my layers for ground detection got past us. If I can replicate it and fix it I will post an update. Glad you had a good time anyway! :)

mmason 2017-04-29 01:52

You played (and commented!, thanks) on my team's game so it felt only fair to return the favor.

This game felt solid, the controls were responsive and behaved as expected after being explained. there was a few times where objects got stuck inside the cat but that's to be expected when you do physics at high speeds :) The art style was nice and it all fit together really well.

The only complaint I have is I wish there was more, like maybe the cat had to get him all the way outside, or maybe lead him around the house getting him ready to go out.

In any case I really enjoyed it, I'll try to remember to come back and rate when that's open

sheep42 2017-04-29 03:15

@mmason Thanks! I'm gonna give your game a shoutout here too because it was probably one of my favorites that I played today and I ended up downloading it from the Play store after I left my comment. So to anyone else reading this check out their game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/bureaucratic-deity-simulator-2018

I'll definitely rate you guys when voting is open :)

firewill 2017-04-29 03:51

I enjoyed the game, it was fun and short, so it didn't overstay it's welcome, graphics were cool, I especially like the cats design, thumbs up to whoever did that, that said I did encounter a few bugs or glitches.

As for glitches just the fact that I can win by clawing the same pizza box is kind of a bummer, but not too serious, who can resist going all out. I also experienced the no jump bug, not sure what triggered it, not that detrimental.

But the one that takes the cake is being propelled by Schrodingers arms, landing on top of the game screen and walking on the letterboxing.

Credits music and name weren't very tonally consistent with the rest of the game I have to say, which I felt was more slapstick.

All in all cool entry, its a bit rough, but its short enough that it doesnt bother me much.

mmason 2017-04-29 13:57

thanks @sheep42, I really appreciate it

sheep42 2017-04-29 15:38

@firewill lol, you are the first person that I know of to be launched outside of the wall colliders! Thanks for the great feedback, I'm pretty sure the no jump bug has to do with some objects not having the proper layers assigned but I've yet to find the culprits.

The original concept for the game was less slapstick and during development it evolved more into what you played, but we decided to stick with the name idea as it provided some initial inspiration to the small plot that we had. Hopefully it didn't hurt your overall experience too much!

samurai-spark 2017-04-30 12:16

This game was made for me  I'm a big cat fan and I love mine but oh boy there destruction percent is at 80. Cool, small and ridiculously funny. 10/10 paws. And I like the hypno toad! One of the best ideas I've seen. The arts are nice aswell, did you use spine for the animations?

Fantastic job

sheep42 2017-04-30 14:49

@samurai-spark Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :) Our artist is happy that someone finally mentioned his hypno toad easter egg. We used a combination of Inkscape for the artwork and Spriter Pro for the animation.

danbolt 2017-05-01 06:30

Hahah, I loved the comedy of messing around with the guy's stuff. All my friends that are cat owners seem to express the same sort of attitude towards their cats. Good use of the physics engine for this!

Also, the music at the end was great as well.

:laughing::cat::thumbsup::thumbsup:

pschichtel 2017-05-01 15:53

Fun game. I got stuck a few times, but nothing problematic. Some kind of background music would be nice.

earthcollapse 2017-05-01 17:43

Seems like a fun game, unfortunately the jump stopped working for me after a few uses. I tried reloading and the same thing happened again. I'd like to play it again if that's fixed :)

sheep42 2017-05-04 00:49

@danbolt Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed yourself! :)

@pschichtel Thanks for the feedback! There actually is music, but there was a bug with my soundmanager script where the music would die if you clicked off of the browser window. I've since fixed that bug, but sorry for the diminished initial experience!

@earthcollapse You are in luck if you want to try again, I believe I have actually fixed the jump bug! Either way thanks for playing. :)

themadstrauss 2017-05-07 14:08

Nice game. I liked the physics and the main idea. Good Job.

blackrose 2017-05-07 15:51

its a good concept! its a fun game. The physics are good.

Maybe a indication of what can you distroy in the room will be fine

tuomo 2017-05-17 19:00

Wow, that’s one powerful kitty. Stuff just flew around when I scratched it. Overall I had fun, graphics are well done, sounds maybe bit bland. One suggestion: maybe develope more the relationship with the human and the cat. I literally threw stuff at him and he didn’t even react. That could possibly add more depth to the story too.

midup 2017-05-18 00:47

Nice game! Good physics system and theme :joy: :joy: :joy:

tommyflower 2017-05-18 07:09

This was Hilarious! Very fun to play! LOved the sound fx, the physics and graphics. Really loved the story sequence. I would have love to see more distress in the poor Schroedinger. I'd love to see him moving to another room, only to discover that his terrible cat is there too :D I couldn't see much difference between scratching adn hitting things actually:you end up pressing everything (which is fun) but what about a sofa to tear apart, where you can see the gradual effect of your scratching, like fighting a final monster? Great job!

awesomealliterationalliance 2017-05-18 08:55

Very short but fun game. Nice physics and great humor, solid entry! A few more levels would be nice.

swamphen 2017-05-18 09:06

Cool short fun game, it hung a little when loading initially!

karln 2017-05-18 09:10

Well I don't know what I expected but it wasn't that. Made me laugh :D

number6406 2017-05-18 09:17

Fun to play, and fast too ! Perfect for a little break ! I liked the graphics a lot, and the camera movements when you scratch everything :D
