LD39 — Running out of Power

Captain Pixel Vs The Round Invaders by Junber 2017-08-17T03:54:09Z

I liked the graphics and the concept, the game was also pretty fun to play. Had a little trouble with windows version getting it to load properly. Also found the difficulty of the game to be too high to do well. Enjoyed running around and doing what I could for a while though

Fade by glimaleite 2017-08-01T02:38:05Z

Really like the mood you set with the snow flitting across the scene and the audio. Found it a bit hard to keep playing and read at the same time, maybe a VO would've helped? Combat felt good and smooth but I didn't grasp the cool down effect right away. Overall I found it enjoyable.

Spincharge by DMajor 2017-08-03T01:39:47Z

I liked the graphics, provided a certain atmosphere. The game itself seemed a little unresponsive but you had a lot of the tools to make a fun game if you can figure that out.

Soporific: A Bedtime Story by paracatgames 2017-08-03T02:36:35Z

I loved the graphics, and felt like the branching story and graphics fading in and out gave a sense of what it would really be like to be in this situation. Very charming, put a big smile on my face

A Night at Grandpa's by Kingethaniel 2017-08-03T01:04:52Z

Wow. Excellent mood, mechanics felt intuitive, graphics and gameplay had a nice polish. The concept felt creative and well executed. Very impressive, I'm surprised only one person was working on this.

Breathless Parks - Running, out of Power by gonutz 2017-08-03T01:16:22Z

I thought graphics were pretty quirky and liked the humor but found the gameplay to be pretty frustrating

Robots from 1991 by dminsky 2017-08-03T02:25:09Z

Cool little game I could imagine playing it in an arcade. Simple and easy to play, fun, good aesthetic. Keep it up!

Engines & Earl Grey by Temmy 2017-08-05T20:10:46Z

i liked the graphics and music, gave the game a cute bit of atmosphere. one tiny complaint- recharging power took too long, meaning beating the game took a little longer than ideal. but i think overall it was good

Henry the Electrician by Neweichgames 2017-08-17T03:24:59Z

I found the simple gameplay to be good. Was hard to pick up the wires sometimes. Thought the story was pretty good but didn't make it all the way to the end. Music was repetitive. I liked how you scaled the difficulty

Long Live The Pig by CTTFOW 2017-08-05T19:50:59Z

i'm a politics buff and this was great fun! some pointers: maybe some of the promises could have been more varied? also the 7 day cycle wasn't clear so that should be made clear but that's a simple fix. had lots of fun pissing off certain groups (the corporations and fundamentalists lol) and could see myself playing again. lots of fun, thanks for making!

The Dictater by Don Fouts 2017-08-03T02:12:49Z

I thought this game was simple but fun!

CowPow! by Quemagalletas 2017-08-03T00:37:42Z

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already but my biggest problem with it is that the cows keep falling out of the beam. Its supposed to be hard I know but me and my friend couldn't get a single cow.

ANSWER ME! by Viliar 2017-08-17T03:37:30Z

I loved the concept! Dialogue was engaging and I wanted to see what happened next. Some context for the relationships before playing would maybe have been nice? Really enjoyed what you did with this!

Flask of Destruction by Melowicyan 2017-08-03T00:47:37Z

Like some of the other commentators have said, I had some trouble figuring out exactly what was going on. Specifically I did not know how to move my units beyond the first town they attacked. It also wasn't clear what each unit did, a short summary would have been nice. I did like the music and graphics and found the game to be pretty fun.

The Insured Man by rplnt 2019-05-19T15:51:41Z

I liked the top down graphic feel! As others have mentioned, some way of finding enemies would have been good. Also thought the controls worked very well

Brothers in Prejudice: Colombian Bam Bam by pudding 2019-05-19T16:43:11Z

I really loved your writing about how hypocritical cops are, lmao. Also I really had a fun time with the gameplay, once I got the hang of dodging it was pretty great!

Jack The Reaper by Madbeagle 2019-05-19T16:23:31Z

Wow this was really fun. I like how it kept my high score from game to game, I kept playing to try and beat it!

Dragon's Den by LittleW00D 2019-05-19T15:57:26Z

Very fun and easy to pick up and learn!

Blood Money by kristinamay 2019-05-19T17:42:13Z

I've seen lots of vaguely anti-capitalist approaches to the theme but yours showcases some deep thinking and good writing I'm a fan.

Debtors' Arena by AceArcher 2019-05-19T16:08:07Z

I thought the idea was really cool, especially because you would have to pay more to get revived after a fight. My game this jam had a similar thing. I had trouble getting into the fights because I found the controls a little laggy as others have said. However, first time trying something like this I applaud you, keep working on it!

Dictator's Last Year by lesinvisible 2019-05-19T15:42:31Z

I liked the music and thought the narrative was a novel take on the theme. If you're doing another text based game, don't forget to spell check!

Live your cards by Jonan 2019-05-19T18:02:37Z

Simple, liked the music, thought illustrations were charming. The only thing is that I didn't feel like my choices early in life made a difference later in life, except in the stats. I'm not sure if it was random, but maybe it would make sense to try to code certain events as being more likely, once you had selected certain events earlier? Or maybe some new events that pop up later. Or some overarching narrative. There's a lot of different directions you could take this, just let yourself explore and don't worry about getting it right the first time

Coin War by jjones 2019-05-19T17:34:14Z

yeah I had a hard time figuring this one out
