LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Infinity Monkey Autocorrect by andyman404 2015-12-15T22:17:00

Can't wait for multiplayer!

Octov by Taldius 2015-12-15T22:48:00

Wow, great game! Had a lot of fun playing this one. Really clever way of only using two buttons, but still keep the game and mechanics interesting and fun. Graphics are good and music is good as well, but most importantly I think that this game has a great mood gets you immersed into the world and makes you want more.

Definitely one of the best entries I have played so far!

Harvest by rxi 2015-12-16T21:35:00

Extremely well executed. I had some problems with the farming, but overall - superb!

Gonflichouettes by blackwires 2015-12-15T22:59:00

- The music is the best part of this game, it really sets a great mood.
-You used a clever way to follow the theme.
- Mechanics are actually nice and satisfying.
- Good job!

Crooked Town by TeamEagle 2015-12-16T21:51:00

So much fun! I do think the theme is a bit weak, but I don't care, because I had a blast

EarthWard by luke 2015-12-15T20:59:00

Love the graphics. Sound too! Playing with touchpad wasn't easy though :)

Yume Starcatcher by alexrus07 2015-12-15T19:41:00

Great game! Love the graphics and feel it. It would be nice to add more control over the projectiles. Anyway good job

Drunken Boss Fight by aquisenberry 2015-12-15T23:56:00

I think the intro is kinda cool and the artwork looks great. Keep it up!

Laser Command by Docjekyll 2015-12-29T09:27:00

++ Graphics looks great. Very weapon juicy charging animation.
+ Gameplay. The way you charge up and tries to achive combos is great, giving it a more strategic feel rather then just button mashing.
++ Music. Great track, very suiting for the theme. Nice use of different track based on weapon

- To many lives. Even when you are doing terribly, you have a high chance of winning since losing all bases are rare.
- Sound effects - Would be nice!
- Difficulties. For this kind of game, I think only "Normal" would be enough since the game gets harder with levels.

Overall great job!

Hero Feed Co. by SkullPixel 2015-12-15T22:29:00

I really like that you keep the design of the game simple. Overall a good concept. Like others are saying, the controls are a little clunky and need more work (however, I used a trackpad so maybe not the best tool for the job). The graphics are great, simple but still looks good. I feel like the AI needs some work, the enemies get stuck a lot, which unfortunately makes the game less enjoyable.

Conclussion: Nice concept, great art, but the execution can be better.

FLOW by Romixal 2015-12-15T19:16:00

Like art!

Point Of Light by CHRIStopher 2015-12-15T22:47:00

I like the idea! I think it would be nice with some kind of checkpoints, if there is a way to advance to new levels. Or something that adds to the mystery, encouraging the player to explore more

Santa's Little Grower by Erlend Aakre 2015-12-16T17:33:00

Yay, i sawed christmas! :D

Good job making this game. I think, like most other people here, that the mood and the graphics (taking into account the time) is the best thing about the game. I overall really enjoy christmas games with snowy landscapes and this one was no exception. Some aspects of the game was also surprisingly fun, for example getting chased by the evil snowmen (the they made did a big difference) was a lot of fun.

Pros:
- Sound design - definitely got you in the right mood.
- Graphics - even though you didn't make it yourself you assembled it nicely.
- Christmas theme! :D

Cons:
- I think that you could have done a better job with the mechanics and the actual game play. Maybe work a little bit more with the theme in order to develop som unique aspects to the game? What happen for me was that I was just running around trying to find all the logs.
- I would like the snowmen to be a little bit slower, now it is impossible to outrun them.

Overall though, a great jam game!

Flip Flop Adventures by Nibbles Team 2015-12-16T18:51:00

Sorry, but this game was just bland. The gameplay is not innovating at all and the game is boring to play. The graphics are ok, but the game still lacks a theme and a mood. The best thing about the game was the intro screenshots.

Tangle Root by Tacohej 2015-12-15T19:52:00

I understand zguerrero! We tried to fix that with Safe Mode (holding shift wont make new branches) but it might be a bit unclear. Thanks for your input!

Tangle Root by Tacohej 2015-12-15T23:30:00

glodemaster, thanks for your comment. That is actually part of the puzzle. The hint on that level may help you solve it!

Dashmageddon by Mikaza 2015-12-16T19:13:00

The background looks good. The concept for the game is good, I think however that there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the design of the game. The reverse mechanic was fun, maybe more interesting things like the reverse mechanic would have made the game more enjoyable.

Long Long: A snake lies in the Past by Tapehead 2015-12-16T18:59:00

The art and music is great. However, it doesn't save the game from the terrible game play. Would like to explore the areas, but it is impossible because of the nature of the game. Sorry, but this was not fun to play.

Tubutten Beetle by YinYin 2015-12-16T19:08:00

Seems like a game that you would see on appstore/google play for mobile. Good try and effort, however I think the game isn't that fun to play since it is so repetitive. In order to make a game like this to work the difficulty level needs to be very well balanced, which I think this game could improve.

Thorn - The Dreamer by greenscreen 2015-12-16T13:26:00

Good job combining both themes. Would be nice with some changes to the restarting of the game, like one klick only and not reseting the audio (nice song btw).

The Climbers by NirabazGAMES 2015-12-16T23:11:00

Great fun! Wish it would get harder after a while. Clever use of theme, sounds and looks good. Well done!

Eat da fish by strong99 2015-12-28T22:39:00

I just finished the game. Here are a few pros and cons

+ Great use of both themes
+ Graphics, especially the different stages of evolving.
+ A real ending ( or beginning maybe )
+ Difficulty ( not to hard or to simple )

- Da fish eating. The collision was kinda wierd and sound didn't always trigger. Hard to tell if a fish can be eaten or not
- Music. Short loop, crazy melody.

Overall good job!

LD35 — Shapeshift

Phil Fortier by icefallgames 2016-04-28T15:01:00

Very creative, well done. Love the character animation, and the levels are cool. I got hard fast at "first screenshot level" and I think the left bolder made it kinda stressful. But overall, very good job

Biota by bytegrove 2016-04-19T20:08:00

Even though it is not really a game, great entry! Blown away that you managed to make this during the jam. Technically this is very impressive. I feel like one of the most impressive parts is the generation of the animations. Some feedback would be to make the controls a little more intuitive.

Subverse by Mekuri 2016-04-19T20:25:00

The best thing about this entry is the overall feel and mood. The environment and underwater world is quite cool. Also I think that the controls are pretty decent, once you get them. I think that you can introduce mechanics much better than you do though. It would have been way better to learn the controls through some kind of tutorial. Lastly, congrats to finishing the game and making something good during the time limit.

Super Jelly Blaster by adcrusher 2016-04-20T05:21:00

Love everything about visuals and audio. The problem I had with this game is the gamplay. It's all about solving puzzles fast, but since it basically impossible to make a level on the first try, it loses the whole puzzle aspect and suddenly your just a block trying to move around as fast as you can. Instead of having you play enough times to memorize all the moves, you could actually get a chance solving the puzzle by playing the level.

Anyway, that's just a opinion. Good luck!

Splitter Critters by GertJohnny 2016-05-02T16:06:00

Wow, great work. The only downside I think is that you sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by options, but that is sort of the beauty of the mechanic as well. Still best game so far imo

Ocean Rig 452 by iossif 2016-04-19T08:21:00

Good game! Maybe not super innovative, but solid puzzle. Got stuck on Level 5 with no pattern to follow.

+ Graphics and Animations - Something other than black background would be nice, otherwise great
+ Audio - Sounds good.
+ Not being able to move single blocks was a smart and simple design to enable creative puzzles.

- Controls - Using keyboard to move felt very tedious
- Got stuck with no pattern to solve

Anyway, well done

Sock Wars by TiByte 2016-04-21T18:43:00

Haha, love it. Very creative. Fun graphics and music. Theme was the weakest part I guess and I got a feeling that the boss fight was rigged. Anyway, funny game

Warping Ninja by Glockenspiel 2016-05-02T16:17:00

Actually a lot of fun. Have a lot of potential, where enemys could be fooled to shoot obstacles or other enemys. Could even be more unforgiving, maybe skip all checkpoints or respawn enemys if killed. Anyway, great work, me like

Shapeshift by suurin 2016-04-21T11:01:00

Even tho I think the theme is a bit dull, it's a great game.

Sometimes it's impossible to dodge an obstacle due to misfortuned level generation, and collisions with mismatching colors didnt always result as dmg. Other than that it's great fun. Good graphics, flow and seems addictive. Well done

Shift that Shape! by Lagoe 2016-04-19T13:32:00

The artwork is nice, and I think the game overall is fine. Except it broke when spamming all keys at the same time in an attempt to exploit it. Would probably benefit from some kind of twist, to make the gameplay more interesting.

Anyway, congratulations on your first submit

buki buki! by cowboycolor 2016-04-19T20:31:00

Very polished. Great work.

Mouse controls would have been great. Other than that, superb

Bulletmorfer by Schurtz 2016-04-19T11:05:00

This game really got potential, but it suffers from a few things. The biggest problem is controls, where you often lose control after you shoot and can't aim or walk. The other problem is switching bullets, where I could not switch back after picking the granate.

I think the artwork of the enemys, bullets and especially the explosions are superb! Well done! Some audio would be nice as stated before.

I think this could be a fun action arcade game with some futher polish. Good luck!

The adventures of Wizard Hamster: The epic battle with dreadful Robot Cactus! by Shizor 2016-04-28T11:24:00

Lemmiwinks the game? Good job on graphics and sound. Did also have problems transforming when even when I was standing upon an object, but overall ok gameplay.

The Shamankeeper by Mystical 2016-04-19T20:47:00

Great graphics, but the trees and snakes look a bit out of place with black outlines. Animation of the player looks great.

It would be nice to know about the purpose of the animals. I understand that this was a matter of time, but at least a hint what was about to come.

Good luck!

Cardthulhu by TeamCardthulhu 2016-04-19T18:15:00

A very cool game and ambitious game. Fantastic artwork on the cards, and great gameplay given the time you had. The theme is a bit weak, ( i guess it's cultist transforming into demons? ). The design where resources (delayed or instant) are all used up after a turn, and enemys getting stronger is really smart and makes you think about upcomming turns. Love it.

I almost quitted at first, becouse of the overly complex texts ( why not just "draw a card" ) and lack of guidance. I'm glad I didnt tho.

Cheers

Markus

LD39 — Running out of Power

Ashmup by TimTipGames 2017-07-31T12:36:40Z

Juicy execution, well done! And yes, I did finish level 3! :)

Shekateka by dietzribi 2017-07-31T09:54:18Z

I'm super impressed. I think the plugged gun mechanic is very interesting, and I think you should have played around and explored it more. Loved the sound effect of the bird monster, and died every time in the fireball room. Great job

Power Knight by thomz12 2017-08-02T11:17:10Z

Very juicy indeed. Slow motion was a cool touch. The combat could be a little bit deeper. Anyway, well done!

Blasphemy! by FelixMcFelix 2017-08-02T16:01:24Z

I think the music, the feel (mostly) and the artwork was great. Kinda wished it had some unique mechanism that would make it stand out. Anyway, good job

Intrepid by Arkthalohs 2017-08-02T07:08:35Z

The amount of work here is impressive but the mechanisms, background story and theme is a bit to similar to the board game battlestar galactica.

Drought by tacohej 2017-08-01T07:43:26Z

Thanks alot ya'll for all the feedback and kind words!

@ginger9 Haha, that's funny!

@bajarymi There are factors that manipulate speed. The first is the water bar. The second is one that if you move with your cursor close to the main character, you wont run as fast. This is for some extra control. So if it was one of those two you meant, it was intentional. If you meant something else, I wasn't able to recreate it. Thanks for the feedback!

@flipsy Yeah, It was next on the "want to have" list :) next time

Drought by tacohej 2017-08-02T07:58:43Z

@drewg8 It's possible to hit enemies without having to run into them, but maybe I made it too hard to do that.

Drought by tacohej 2017-08-04T12:39:23Z

@felixmcfelix Great feedback, thank you. The idea about the oasis was that it would be a relief to find one, and work as a checkpoint. While I think it worked out ok, it wasn't very fun to backtrack without any other goal than refill.

@studio-rtv I really agree with about the objective and music. Wish I had more time for both! Great feedback, Thanks!

Cute Chute by xel 2017-08-01T08:35:15Z

The polish of this game is great. Fun intro dialog, great graphics and stylish animations. Wish the gameplay had more to offer, like a mechanic to trick animals closer to the pit or the ability to grab multible animals.

This doesn't feel far from a 'real' game. Well done!

Hog-Nosed Coon by hijomo 2017-08-02T07:39:51Z

It was really hard to get what was going on and what to do. Could use some guiding tips, or maybe let the player try for more than a few seconds before game over.

Blow Out by Cristi Mihai 2017-07-31T21:39:31Z

When you have a very limited time span it's all about priorities. I think you did a great job on your artwork, but you might have cut some parts in order to get the game some simple mechanics and goals.

I hope you had fun on your first jam. I look forward to play your future games!

The Circuit by jchaplin 2017-08-02T07:18:41Z

Cute little game. Think maybe two buttons would be enough!

Politics - Rome by Julisep 2017-08-02T09:22:48Z

I really like the idea. Hard to get a full grasp on how to get better at it. Was a bit hard to read in the upper right because of the background. Otherwise, great job!

Power Stealer by Anatei 2017-08-02T15:13:12Z

Some frustration with controls, otherwise interesting game. Well done

Stoked by pitpony 2017-07-31T10:57:23Z

I really like the core mechanic. I think it could get really good with some more variations and ways to be more effective. The only complaint is that you can pick up stones with tools but not drop them, that had me fooled more than once. Great graphics and well designed instructions. Well done

Battery Pack by shashwat 2017-07-31T10:16:16Z

Some interesting ideas and fun text messages. I made it to level 8! The looping of the soundtrack is a bit off and it gets especially noticeable when the loop is short. Anyway, well done

Titan LD39 Compo by NamInUz 2017-07-31T23:15:23Z

Great idea. Think this has alot of potential. Well done

Lifeforce Deathrun by GanbareGamesKyle 2017-08-03T06:56:14Z

This is messing with my head. It looks simple enough but man... I still have to think twice on every battery. Well done making a simple mechanism interesting

RulesQuest by Adrien Dittrick 2017-07-31T20:24:00Z

Damn son, the amount of loot in this game!

I had some fun with this. I used the power glove to rebuild around my base, making it easier to farm all that sweet loot. I think I got too high movement speed, because I basically had no control in the end.

I didnt get the enemies at first, but then I realised that enemies -> xp -> higher values on loot. Nice! Multiplayer would probably work really good. Well done

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

A Short Story by iamtalin 2017-12-05T21:35:40Z

It's hard to say something about a game like this because it does "it's thing" and it does it very well. I find it fascinating how someone can evoke feelings in such a short amount of time. It's like whenever I watch the movie Up, 5 min in and im sobbing... Every time. Anyway what I'm trying to say, Im impressed and I think you nailed the mood.

The theme is very well imbedded with the game. I think you captured it on a large scale with the war and Jons mental health, but also within the details like the quality of the handwriting and different signatures.

The graphics fits great with the overall feeling of the game, although I can't stop thinking about Darkest Dungeon for some reason :) . And to actually contribute with some constructive feedback, maybe the characters and the scenes don't go super well together.

Well done. Thank you and good luck!

Kittea Party by JPiolho 2017-12-05T19:54:49Z

**Hello there!**

Here is a few thoughts about your game Kittea Party

**Graphics**

Great work on the artwork. I think the main character Gertrude looks and animates really well, and there is a few details like the rounded borders on the rooms that made the environment really pop. Some dimensions and angles seems a bit off though. If that was intentional it could have been more clear to make it a bigger part of the overall design. I'm nitpicking here, it really looks stunning.

**Theme**

This is, together with graphics, the strongest feat of the game. Clever, fun and unique. Enough said.

**Gameplay**

For me this was the weakest part of the game. I found myself running between the two rooms, clicking on everything over and over. I'm missing some kind of strategic element or challange. On the positive side, the game feels good. The controls feels snappy, and that's important.

**Overall**

Good looking, cute game that only lacks some kind of hook to be something great. Good job!

Squire! Where's My Sword?! by Magnega 2017-12-06T23:05:50Z

** Hello there! **

The main reason why I tried it out was the title (our submission is a game called "Squire") but I'm really glad I did. I will focus on a few aspects of it.

** Theme **

It's not super obvious how this fits the theme, I would say that our game have a similar problem. I guess it's like - More choices makes it worse ' or ' More items in bag, harder to fit more items '. That said, I think the theme is something that should inspire people to make great game rather than restrict.

** Graphics **

I think it was very clever how you made it look alive with very simple means like the hero walk animation, and the paper feel worked really good with that. The change of scenery added some variation and that was a nice touch. I think some of the enemies did a good job expressing what kind of attack they did, Like the posion muchroom in the start. Others were less obvious like the burning skull that did magic damage. Like someone else mentioned, it was hard to have time to read, which made me take decisions based on what was expected from the looks of the enemy, instead of the text. I also got fooled by the golden sword by the way :)

** Gameplay **

On this, I'll give you one of best compliments I can think of. I was fun! Probably one of the hardest things to achieve in my opition. Alot of things could be improved of cource. Items with permanent effects while in bag sounds very exciting as a part of the core mechanism. I think that would be enough to build something great. I found that the pace was to high for me to try to rotate and fit items perfectly, so I would not mind cutting some of that or move towards a more strategic game.

** Verdict **

Squire! Where's My Sword?! is a fun, clever game with potential. Would like to see more of it in the future

Squire by mambojambo 2017-12-06T07:45:56Z

Thank you all for the comments so far. We really appreciate it, especially feedback on how we could improve on it.

@averagebrownie Thank you for your comment! Not the whole way back I hope. Did you use the carrot to make the donkey follow?

@miki Tack sjรคlv! Great feedback!

@mshopf Thanks a lot, very useful feedback

Squire by mambojambo 2017-12-09T22:16:01Z

So many great comments, thanks alot.

About the theme. Yes, I agree that is weak compared to many other games. We wanted to make something about handling many heroes and many tasks at the same time. The fact that one of the losing themes were "you are not the main character" was unfortunate, and if we had realized this earlier, we might have gone for a different setting.

To the anonymous comment about file changes: 03.32 was the local time here in Sweden 28 min before the submission hour was over. It always ends at 04.00 here

LD42 — Running out of space

Cell Trapper by tybantarnusa 2018-08-17T11:17:54Z

Congratulations on a successful game. Simple, but actually fun.

Some improvements like not having enemies spawn at you would be nice.

Anyway, good job

TrackBlasters by paulloz 2018-08-16T10:57:51Z

Cool game. Lovely graphics and audio and the UI is like production quality.

Gameplay is good, but could be better. Would like to have more controls over the bombs. Maybe light them automatically and within a timer drop them manually.

Multiplayer would probably work very well. But ofc that's not really the scope for a jam.

Anyway, good job all of you!

Pole Volt by tacohej 2018-08-14T07:34:43Z

@senokos Thanks for playing! In what build did you experience the glitch?

Every pole will stick in the mattress, and will be dangerous to the next jumper. And by so you are running out of space to land on.

Pole Volt by tacohej 2018-08-15T06:33:43Z

@wasd Thanks for the input. The theme and mechanic goes hand in hand I guess you can say. May I ask for how long you played the game?

@dk5000p Thanks for playing. Yeah, I agree about the controls. The theme is about every pole will be left on the mattress, and you'll have to avoid them when you jump again. Thus running out of space to land. Was it that you didn't understand that mechanic, or the connection to the theme?

@luca1152 Nice, you figured alot of it out. Flipping can be used as a way to land vertically, score extra points (for each full flip ) and to stear you towards the mattress. Thanks for playing

AdSpace by YourLocalSavior 2018-08-16T05:41:32Z

Not bad. I'm glad that the shop let me upgrade the movement speed. The initial was very slow. Think the enemies ai could have been less predictable, but I understand that it's not easy in so little time.

Think the art is a little all over the place. I would suggest to find / generate a color scheme and go from that.

Would be cool if you could shoot to maybe destroy the adds.

Anyway, well done.

Evil Forest Battle by devharts 2018-08-17T06:20:38Z

Cool concept and successful experiment with react JS. I think the game could improved alot just by making each spell unique when you upgrade it. Like maybe light could be 5 tiles in a row instead of a cross.

Anyway, good job!

Bandwidth:Zero by Trevor Hayes 2018-08-14T20:48:13Z

isp.png

Graphics were good, even though the guitar looked more like a shovel to me :) The attack felt satisfying.

The enemies could have used some more work. They didn't seem to have an effect when hitting the character, and the ai movement was maybe a bit to simple. Effects like slowing the character down or pushing it would have worked great with the collapsing floor.

Anyway, good job

Carter's Crates by Diego Escalante 2018-08-16T06:27:02Z

Nothing crazy when it comes to theme. Graphics are ok. Audio too, but missing music. I got stuck in a hole.

BUT ACTUALLY FUN!

Well done. I'm impressed

Hell's Highway by magicera 2018-08-18T12:18:12Z

Solid entry, but the gameplay could be better. Like many have stated before, controls could be better. My biggest problem was that I had to spend most part trying to break free from a big blob of cars instead of doing what was fun; driving.

Anyway, good job

Cluttered Mind by HAUO 2018-08-14T21:17:27Z

Innovative and creative. The superb art and audio created a great mood.

Made me a little bit uneasy... Hope to see more of this!

Backey - Your Personal Backpack Manager by Horun 2018-08-14T20:24:05Z

I got 140 at most, went all in on those shiny rocks!

Well executed game. I also encountered the bug where you can't restart from the game. Other then that the game felt stable. Graphics looked nice, and cool animations. I liked the dual perspective was a cool idea, but I think it could have felt more integrated with the game. Only real problem I had was that loot often came in chunks. So instead of making strategic choses, I just grabbed everything I could.

I think a tile based option could have been interesting as well, where there is no physics.

Anyway, good job

Scrap book: A doodle quest! by PunisherXA 2018-08-17T06:47:21Z

Lovely graphics, got very inspired by it. Think I like the health pickup the best. Some parts reminds me of the binding of isaac.

Gameplay could need some more love, but not bad at all for a jam. Good job

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

A Sworded Tale by Snowdrama 2018-12-05T22:27:44Z

Like other people have mentioned, the scope was very ambitious. Would love to hear what you would have done differently next time.

I managed to find the dungeon, but died to a pesky monster. Some more variation would have been nice, but I understand that it was a challange with the time constraints. I especially liked the transitions between scenes, that was cool.

Keep it up!

Not-So-Nicer-Dicer by sadsmile 2018-12-05T23:31:31Z

Horrible person and killed em all was my judgement. I feel weirdly proud. I think the puzzles were nice, but sometimes the mechanic of sacrificing was underused. Who needs a jumpblock when you can build a stair case of dead bodies. Horrible person - check!

Sacrifice Them by velvetlobster 2018-12-05T22:48:40Z

Kudos for making something different with an idea behind it. Great polish, I very much enjoyed the music and the sound effects went good with it. Skylines in the background enforced the business aspect of it, but I didn't really understand why they were in a cave(?) :)

Looking forward to see what else you will do in the future.

@ece Make sure to have audio enabled and use headphones if you can. Otherwise it will be impossible. I hope you will give it another go. Thanks for playing! ๐Ÿ˜Š

@jdelaay025johnd1788 Thanks! Glad to hear that you got inspired by it! I think that's what Ludum Dare is all about.

@pelicanodepico Was it something in particular that didn't work, or was it lagging? Thanks for playing

@silvae I understand. You have to step on the "clue tile" first to trigger the event. It's very clumsy, but we basically ran out of time at this point. At least there is a progress bar at the top middle of the screen. Thank you for the feedback

Well done. I think you did a great job designing levels, and it felt very polished overall. I like that each level was named after typical theme suggestions. I think the flaws in UI / UX already been pointed out. Only thing i noticed is that I got into a state where I could not continue / die on level 10. Luckily I could reset without losing progress from menu. Other than I think the game it pretty much complete! :)

You really nailed some kind of balance between simplicity and depth. It wasn't hard to understand the first playthrough, but after several attempts I did much differenly than in the beginning after learning more of the all the interactions. I think that is something rare and hard to achieve. To me this is a very successfully executed jam. What would you do with it if you decided to continue development after this jam?

Very cool concept. I had problems remember who could dodge the blue and purple, guess that could have been even clearer. For some reason i didn't get music when i started up the game, but turning it off and on again fixed it. Got into the leader board but I bet it wont be for long :)

Great visuals and very ambitious. Could use some more feedback how things actually works. Maybe less robots and one per plate would simplify things. Anyway, good job

Last Lantern by tacohej 2020-04-29T20:07:03Z

@antti-haavikko I'm sorry that you could not finish it, and yes that is a bug for sure. I've encountered it only once when I saw someone else playing (after publish) and haven't been able to reproduce it. The block interaction is a bit janky and we didn't have time to fix it sadly. Thanks for not giving up easliy and for the excellent feedback

@antti-haavikko @zubspace We made an update to fix the box-arrow problem. Thanks for letting us know about it

@antti-haavikko That was how I designed it. I wanted to create some tension in the last room and force the player to take a leap of faith and run for it, but it could been executed alot better for sure. One day we'll learn to begin design levels sooner than just a few hours before submission. Anyway congrats on completing it :medal:

With all the great feedback we got on our game, I wanted somehow return the favor. Of course I didn't want it to effect my rating, so instead went into the game with the mindset of trying to master it.

I think all of the points has already been made about the occasional crashing on restart, the sound, camera, some harder levels than others. Something i've would like to have is some kind of feedback on the boost reload time, with the timing so important I found myself using it less and less. Also losing the multiplier from a single bird lost was a little bit rough, and alot of runs felt like they were doomed before they started. I'm thinking that maybe the multiplier could have been based on the number of birds instead, or perhaps losing 1x multiplier for each bird lost.

The amount of polish here is super impressive, and something i would not expect from the compo jam. Crazy! A cute detail was the pitch change when boosting, and overall the music and audio was great.

I got a decent score early on, and I was #3 on the high score but I didn't feel like I was improving. The movement of the blobs was still a mystery. I was close to call it, but then I remembered my mission.

Back to square one. I started to experiment with different strategies, like going slow trying to control the blob movement and going fast utilizing the boost to get pickups closer. The most important thing I learned was to not always go for the pickups and instead focus more on the movement of the blobs. My runs started to feel alot cleaner, and I had a few really good ones but not yet #1. A few times I got excited over the momentum and tried to peak at the score, killing myself in the progress.

And then it happened. Super clean start, great control and speed on the blob and good spawns (At this point I think it started to lag a little bit, not sure if it was because of all the birds). Still one blob, wanted to peak at the score so bad, but tried to stay focused.

At last I get a huge collision losing almost everying, but still in the game. The second blobs joins and devourers all but two, and with a difficult maneuver I manage to sneak between them losing just one in the escape (I'm telling you, that was some star wars death star action).

One flier left. Manage to recover some with good spawns and the blobs on the other side. I feel like I can recover and squeeze a few extra points when the third, mr douchebag jr joins the party.

Game over.

If I didn't make it clear, I had a blast playing this even with it's flaws, and have been for me one of the highlights for this LD. And finally I could get a look at my score!

Starship Clicker by neuronezero 2020-04-29T19:14:52Z

I like that it's more than just a clicker. I tried to figure out if process and data had any impact later in the game, but I guess not? It's easy to get overwhelmed by all the information, but I liked the idea to present new stuff during the game. I think you could have used that even more, maybe with some of the modules like the fusion reactor. Anyway great work!

Boxes in space by DSF100 2020-04-25T12:21:04Z

Great job on your first entry. It was clear how the game worked and what the goal was. Would be cool if you could make use of the extra unit that spawn, by collecting points or whatever. That would award the player for not controlling all of them at the same time
