Fantastic entry especially for a first attempt! Post processing effects look great and the game play is very smooth.

Hey fellow boxes-in-space game developer. This was quite fun, more so when you get several boxes moving around as a group, something very satisfying about the way they spin around each other. I think it would be better if it wasn't game over when one box gets hit.
Very fun gameplay with good graphics and sound. Keep it up
Great entry! I love the shiny graphics
Graphics are nice. Needs more challenge though, main cause of failure was not getting newly spawned boxes out of the spawn zone in time if there is an asteroid heading for it. Good Sound effects. well done
Stylish, intuitive interface and enticing effects. It's a little simple, but great for a first attempt.
Well made! I am also the first time joining LUDUM DARE! I think your game is simple but fun! I especially like the effect for move points. Good job!
constructive feedback: The sounds were a little harsh. Next time I would recommend taking a highpass filter over them to cut out the higher frequencies. It wasn't that bad, but looking for something helpful to give as feedback :)
positive feedback: The game was surprisingly fun. There was a challenge because the boxes had to execute your commands, rather than listening to direct player input. I never could get past 2 boxes though, maybe I just suck at it though. It was also really easy to figure out how to play the game. Great job on making it intuitively.
Overall a really great project!
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Looks like I did a good job on it.
Also, @matt2728 thank you for that feedback, the sounds are indeed a little harsh haha. It reminds me of the good old arcade games though :)
Brought back memories of playing Asteroids at the Arcade :sob:
Really neat and simple idea! It's kinda like microing your units in an RTS. The graphics are simple but there are some nice touches that add polish to them. Game ending by just losing one might be a bit harsh though, especially since some situations can be unfair due to randomness.
Fun game. I kinda find it a bit hard.
Great job on your first entry. It was clear how the game worked and what the goal was. Would be cool if you could make use of the extra unit that spawn, by collecting points or whatever. That would award the player for not controlling all of them at the same time
I reaally like the idea! It is fairly basic and could use some addition of more mechanics, but for the given time its well polished! It got challenging quickly as you had to think about more boxes, I liked the difficulty curve, Great work!
Really nice game! Nice graphics and audio. Agreeing with @diinki the game did get a bit difficult after some time, but it was really fun! It's my first Ludum Dare as well and your game turned out muuuch better than mine!
Good job for your first LDJAM! Cute graphics, I like the slight glow to the boxes, and the controls were intuitive. If you keep working on it, I'd love to see an update where you only lose after all your boxes are gone.
A really good first entry! Great idea to try an Asteroids-like game with RTS controls! The simple graphics look well, the sounds - while a bit too harsh on my ears - give that old arcade feeling. The only thing missing is some simple fast music track playing in the background, I think it would do wonders for your game. Also, try implementing some sort of flocking algorithm for your squares, it might look really nice in here.
A solid LD game, well done! ;)
simple and fun. loved it. found the sounds a bit harsh on the ears but otherwise a well made game.
Interesting game, I enjoyed it. I think a good addition for furthering this game would be to add some way of destroying the rocks, like in asteroids, or creating some kind of wall by dragging on the screen. Would add a bit more mix in.
Thank you everyone for playing my game, I really appreciate it! :v:
@tgb20 That's not a bad idea :grin:
Nice graphics ! Sometimes simpler is just plain better :P
At first I tried to play the game without reading anything and was pretty lost about the controls and what to do. Maybe you could have included some kind of feedback for the mouse hovering on thing, just to understand it's mouse controlled ? Otherwise, great fun ! :D
@sokette Thx! It's the good old graphics haha, also there is indeed a feedback, if you hover over one of the boxes, a small square will appear on the box.
@dsf100 oh yeah haven't noticed it at first, maybe because it was under the mouse ! My bad ! :D
