Hi, are we alone here?

cenullum 2017-12-05 11:02

why the game is underrated ?!?! This graphic is excellent

hagge 2017-12-05 11:04

awsome graphics and sonds

zblah 2017-12-05 11:13

Hey ! Graphics are really pretty, too bad I couldn't find how to use the hammer, I wanted to see more ! :)

nivbeth 2017-12-05 11:53

Just finished your game and it's pretty sad, but well done :) Especially I love the graphics!

jlreymendez 2017-12-05 16:13

Sadly I couldn't read the letter at the end because I think I clicked it away to quickly by accident.

The character is really odd at first, just a floating head I first thought it was a bug but then I imagined the truth, it gets more clear after visiting the garden.

I would lock the character movement when you open one of the log entries or letters, it was very weird to move over or behind them.

The End scene seamed a bit off, maybe living the letter in sight would have helped.

To finish, I really liked the art and general mood of the game.

Great art and audio. The graphics looked nice, and the music and thunder sounds really added to the mood. I think the only real problem with this game is the character movement, but that's barely worth mentioning. Impressive job!

Really good interpretation of the theme! Also nice graphics and music.

This game looks and plays great. Glad to see more narrative experiences entering the LDJam, the amount of work involved in making something like this is really above average. Congrats on your entry!

Very beautiful Game. And a nice interpretation of the Theme. Great Job!!! I especially loved the graphics/drawings and the subliminal "development" of the main character. Nice to see a game on a jam that tells a story!

This is amazing, the best I've seen in LD40. It just stole my heart. Thanks a lot for the experience!

kabalatrance 2017-12-05 20:18

War. War never changes. Very sad game. There were few techincal issues (player blocks the letters, door are not visible etc.), but for a Jam game this is awesome

pixelformedstudios 2017-12-05 20:34

The graphic style is excellent! The messages the game presents the player with are very well done.

tutaratuta 2017-12-05 21:16

Visual style is very pleasant. I love how you managed to look at this theme in a narrative way. The story itself is well-written, the atmosphere gives chills. Good job on this game!

It's hard to say something about a game like this because it does "it's thing" and it does it very well. I find it fascinating how someone can evoke feelings in such a short amount of time. It's like whenever I watch the movie Up, 5 min in and im sobbing... Every time. Anyway what I'm trying to say, Im impressed and I think you nailed the mood.

The theme is very well imbedded with the game. I think you captured it on a large scale with the war and Jons mental health, but also within the details like the quality of the handwriting and different signatures.

The graphics fits great with the overall feeling of the game, although I can't stop thinking about Darkest Dungeon for some reason :) . And to actually contribute with some constructive feedback, maybe the characters and the scenes don't go super well together.

Well done. Thank you and good luck!

Wow, what a powerful game. I really enjoyed finding all the hidden secrets in this game. It's a very interesting interpretation of the game. I think it really captured the hopelessness of war. Just a few things for feedback. I think it would have been better visually if the descriptions and the player character's thoughts had been flipped on the screen. Also, the last letter barely lingered long enough on my screen to be read, which kind of took away some of the power of it.

oh congratulation! Nice art! Can I follow it also on indiexpo? Do you have also a page there? This looks great! I looked for the games that used the #LDJAM but I don't find yours. So good luck!! I will hope to make a video about it!

I really enjoyed the writing in this game. Art and music are beautifully done. The key mechanic gets a little repetitive, but that's a minor critique point. Seeing the main character transforming surprised me! This is the moodiest game I've played this Ludum Dare, thank you for making it!

randomhuman 2017-12-06 19:52

Really beautiful and evocative art and music, and a well told story. I think I found the stuff out of order but it didn't really detract too much or anything.

guoboism 2017-12-06 20:10

Amazing job drawing all these graphics during the jam! Even with the cartoonist lined style, you still managed to deliver a sense of horror. The words are well written. But I would complain about the font size of the letters.

Congratulations for doing a nice little adventure game in a jam.

iluvatar 2017-12-07 20:07

Awesome story with an eery mood. I also like the art style. Good job :)

lugdumdare-team 2017-12-08 00:27

Graphics are just awesome o_O Only drawback to this "Zork like" game is lack of feedback. Maybe you should highlight interactive elements of the background so we know they are usefull/clickable. Same thing about actions in game, a little feedback like a sound or animation would be great to see what's happening (im talking about the clock for instance) Anyway, this game is beautiful :) Good work !

Did play your game. I struggled a bit and when suddenly more of my body showed up I was super confused. I think increasing the insight, into the characters story, bit by bit was a good aproach for building up that "the more you have the worse it is" theme. Eventhough I am not a fan of sad endings this ending wasn't that bad (especialy because your story game reminded me a bit of The Sicth Sense).^^
