Can't get it to run for Chrome or Internet Explorer. I followed the instructions for Chrome and it still didn't work. Looks interesting :(

This was a nice, mostly idle quest! I like idle games, like "progress quest", "linear RPG", and more recently "Megami Quest".

You did a great job with the graphics and lighting effects. I would have liked to see a travelling dot, though. The font was challenging to read! A status bar to keep track of how many locals are helping me would have been great.

In the end, I rescued my daughter and the game said "great, now get to the port!" Since I had forgotten which dot was the port, and since none of them seemed to be clearly marked "port", I gave up at that point.

ian_snyder: I'm working on getting it working, but the code is a bit of a mess (understatement of the week) and I have no idea why it's not working.

arrogant.gamer: Thanks, sometimes the port and fortress get put in the same city and I didn't have time to fix it. Since it falls under "game breaking", I'll try and fix it tonight.

This game has quite a compelling story. I like the randomly generated map and the lighting effects. The time limit based on dates is quite a good idea (even though I pretty sure I jumped back a month once.)

It is a bit too bad that the game is heavily luck-based.

(For me the arrow is displayed about 50 pixels over the town I'm actually in, is that intentional?)

ZYXer: The actual game was thrown together in about three hours on Sunday, I'd originally planned more in the way of mechanics but ran out of time. I had some issues with the town arrow and decided that perfect was the enemy of good.

Lesson learned: Do not do a 48 hour game compo in 20 hours.

The game wouldn't run in firefox.

A general comment. The way Ludum Dare works you need to rate games to get rated. Currently you only have 5 ratings and have rated none. So to hurry rate at least 20 games and be sure to leave comments as most people tend to rate back!

Running Firefox 26 and it didn't work for me - the page just stayed black no matter what I did, except for the banner up top.

Also, I just tried Chrome as well, still not working.
