Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Seems pretty cool but how do I make the people do anything

hitchh1k3r 2016-08-31 22:48

@SuperMsp10 Click the Worker icon on the right, and then the building you want them to act on in the world. Each building will cause them to do something different, and some have passive abilities.

@hitchh1k3r thanks!

Good visuals. Sound effects are needed and background music would be nice. Its hard to see progress on the things I interact with. Also, maybe a walk through video on how to play.

I beat in 32 days. It was fun that I'm understanding and learning by trial and error gradually. A wolf was sometimes slipping through a barrier, so I put a pit in front of it. This game has strongly addictive, I rally enjoyed I forgot about the time. One point, I wonder when Villager increase. (I worried Villager did not increase from 9 whole time..) I think I can do better various things and get better score, I want to play again. Great work!

I had a problem to understand when the crops would've give me food and when it wouldn't? Putting it at symbols with numbers, with a figure or building new crops didn't help, the retrieving of new crops felt random? Great graphics and inventive idea, a bit better feedback and information ingame would've been nice.

I had to try and fail 2 times before I understood the mechanics but even so, I felt compelled to try again once a new mechanic became clear. The gameplay is addictive and the mechanics are very elegant once you understand them, making you think of strategies that you can use. I found the difficulty level just perfect, providing a challenge without becoming frustrating, even if again not everything is clear from the start. I really liked the idea behind the game and I must congratulate you for the level of complexity that you achieved. The game also looks polished visually although lacking music and sound.
Overall I really enjoyed playing. Great work!

Great graphics, nice models, nice aesthetic, good animations, really liked the glow effect and that tiles are a bit offset. Cool and fun gameplay. Apparently wolves are delicious.

Really good concept and game play. Nice models and animations but that gradients everywhere made it tiresome to play. Should workers die when handling wolves in holes? UI looks cool but those small icons look all the same are unreadable some additional tool tips or a little bigger icons would help for new comers to understand what those icons mean. On refocusing you can build something by accident it probably needs some paused state.

Over all it is really good game if it wasn't for that gradients looks would be also very good.

Very nice visuals and animations. I like there are a lot of strategy games in this ludum dare. I didn't fully understand the mechanics but I enjoyed the visuals.

Looks nice

I really liked the graphics. The day/night turn cycle is pleasantly animated, and I really liked it. Need a tutorial to really get into it tho. These strategy games take some learning to get into.

Very cool game. Lots of stuff to do in it for a game made in 72 hours!

Graphics are great! Game play is great!

I found It was hard to know from the enemy icons around the map exactly what lane they were going to come down though.

Overall good simple game that has lots of content for being made in 72 hours!!!

Great gameplay! I liked the visuals especially the animations. The only thing it needs is a tutorial to get that hang of it faster. But overall is a fun game

I loved this game! I played the post-jam version and I ended up playing for like 4-5 hours. This game was super polished and addicting. By far my favorite game I played this LD. Also I think I like super-beat it, because I decided to build 12 ziggurats simultaneously (which was very hard to do). So I've probably played this game to more completion and longer than anybody else on earth. w00t. Fun game!

Proof of my 12 ziggurat victory:

Graphics 5/5
Audio 5/5
Humor 3/5
Mood 5/5

Amazingly polished game - everything fits well the theme and it is a quite decent City Defence game.

It would be nice to provide additional feedback on selected/applied actions. It is not particularly clear if the action is selected and where I can apply it. Once something selected, I click on a cell and nothing happens. And I'm wondering where I should click next.

Maybe some online hints/tutorial steps could make the learning curve smoother. However steep learning curve is a curse of many strategy games.

Wow! Awesome game. Really addicitve! Great combination of puzzle and turn-based city building game! Definitively the best game of LD36 I've played.

I love the low-poly graphics and the day-night cycle.

Unbelievably fleshed-out game for 72 hours!

solifuge 2016-09-18 21:26

joe40001, the number of Ziggurats is Too Damned High. Impressive stuff!

I'm grateful to all of you who gave the Post Competition version a try. We worked hard on polishing it according to your feedback, and added some of the features we didn't have time to get to during the 72 hours. Thanks again for all your comments, and I'm glad so many of you enjoyed our game!
