Cool idea. It will be nice to see the controls while playing and maybe have some basic instructions. Overall the mechanics seems to be working really good - nice job!

I left you a rating in addition to the earlier feedback. Good luck!
That was a fun little reminder as to why the actual spacecraft had instruments :P
Being able to walk around after landing was a nice touch, helps give a sense of scale!
This is just like Kerbal Space Program - if you haven't played that you should!
I quite enjoyed KSP and got quite good at it, so this game came pretty easy to me. I love space and astronauts so you hit a sweet spot for me as well.
I couldn't rate super high on innovation BECAUSE of the similarity to KSP, but everything else I was pretty impressed with and I had a good time landing a few times. (Nice touch starting at a different orientation each time - or at least it seemed like it did).
This was a lot harder than it first looked, I think primarily because I wasn't sure which buttons oriented the lander the way I wanted it to go. So of course, I crashed like 10 times, including one time where I bounced, survived, and then crashed. Finally I got it though. Stepped out of the craft to walk around, FIRST THING I TRIED was to jump. What?! No jumping mechanic in an astronaut game?! Boooo! Hahaha. Still though, great job. I appreciate the fact too that the terrain in the distance is actually modeled and not just a 2D background sprite. It made me feel like I could actually go there. Resizing the earth was a nice touch too. You tried to recreate what it must have been like for Neil Armstrong all those years ago.
Definitely a learning curve to this (at least for me), but I can honestly say I lost myself a little in this game and had quite a blast. I'm fascinated with all things space so this little simulator felt right up my alley! Would not mind playing this if you furthered the development. Keep it up!!!
This game took me a little while to get the hang of! The models seems really well done! Excellent work, you should create different level so that the player can get use to the difficulty scaling!
I think I just made the best screenshot of my life... Screenshot (16).png I just love these kind of games, because, as you can see, I am a master of such games. Just kidding, though I think the real apollo astronauts couldn't have landed the LM like that without braking it.
Amazing job.
moon_fail.jpg I'm not quite sure how I'm getting back to earth, but at least the view is nice... :D
Wow, a (semi)realistic simulator as a Ludum Dare game! Impressive!
The introduction with the quote and the thumb calibration sets the right mood, very well done!
@zyxer @feips If I learned anything this LD, it's that I need to tone down the difficult a lot. The first version I sent to my friends for testing had less fuel, so for the final version I added what I thought was a generous amount. Guess I wasn't generous enough!
@thendash yes, it was pretty easy, but still, i love it!
Man, all those hours of XSP really paid off. I was able to land successfully after only a few tries, Might have gotten it the first time with some instruments. This was a great experience. Thanks for making it. The slider to set the earth size, the intro quote, all of it was really nice.
Really good. I liked it a lot.
A few refinements:
* Don't make me re-calibrate the Earth size every time I play. * Every time I fail, just let me start over by pressing a button, rather than return to the Main menu. * Some radio chatter with Houston would have made it feel right.
I managed a landing I could walk away from after many attempts...
